46 of 46 · most liked firstGreetings, i have never wrote a negative review for a game, i love most games and even some known to be not so good i can find enjoyment with most. However, there are two reasons for this negative review and they are very strong unfortunately. First, i'm afraid this game feels like a scam of some sort. I saw it and liked what i saw, i felt the price was adequate for it and it was in promotion so i bought it. Big mistake. The game is full of gliches and bugs that severely hinder gameplay to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of serious issues, it feels like an early alpha build, it's just that buggy. No music; some missing sound effects; surrounding NPC produce no sound what so ever. Why would anyone release a game in this condition! One of the craziest issues is the resolution settings, it tells you to restart after changing the resolution but the game has an imbedded command that resets back to the default settings ("What The *&*((@#") is that all about!!! The game wouldn't even launch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I begin, I'd like to say that I was one of those people who had been waiting for this game ever since it's amazing "Someone Special" trailer had blown our minds in 2009. So, after all these years of waiting patiently, after all the vaporware rumors and the problems that befell the original developers, (the game switched hands at some point, but kept the original team as well) it is finally out. Was it worth the wait? This is a tough question to answer, so I will just state the things I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a developer in Japan. But I generally don't play PC games. Its just troublesome. However, I have been following Edge of Twilight for years, and it seem not coming out on consoles anymore. So I decide to give it a try on PC. It is not a pleasant experience to get the game running on my work PC, and there is a serious bug preventing me to launch the game properly. Anyway, while trying to get the game running, I have been reading all the reviews, and seeing all the criticism about the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edge of Twilight – Return to Glory is classified as a third person action adventure game and developed by FUZZYEYES, a relatively new company. Edge is a unique game but it falls short in some departments making it a bit questionable. Keep in mind, the game so far is only one episode, more will be produced in the future, so think of the game as a telltale episode rather than a full game right away. The game story starts with Lex, a half breed rejected by society getting a request from the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steampunk setting? Check Post-apocalyptic? Check Realm shifting (Soul Reaver-like)? Check Halfbreed sword-wielding protagonist? Check who can transform into an ether vampire? Check A plan that can either save the world or completely destroy it? Check Playable on low-end hardware? Check Of course it's got technical issues (it's just released from a team that has never released a game in Steam before) but it looks well worth the ride

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is broken/incomplete. As a Steampunk lover, I love the art in this game. The enviornment, characters, and clothing in this game encompasses everything Steampunk. What SUCKS is the gameplay. The camera jumps around on you unexpectedly and there is very little direction in the game. Also there are some bugs with the boss fight were you cannot doge projectiles because thier invisible (when they're not supposed to). Overall DO NOT GET THIS GAME.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this for free... and I still feel like I need a refund
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[Update 1/3/2017] All aforementioned issues are fixed. I'm now officially happy. [Original Review 9/29/2016] Although there are things that, at the time of writing, could use some improvement (screen tearing w/no v-sync option, audio quality in cutscenes, very small text/HUD in 4K resolution, and lack of button icons for Xbox controllers), this game is so far everything I would want out of a steampunk hack-n-slash. The combat is actually more fun than I expected, and I'm interested to see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edge of Twilight – Return To Glory could have been something special, but it fails miserably. The game was in development hell for a decade before final release and it shows. The Steampunk/Dieselpunk world looks amazing for a game that would have been released 8-10 years ago, the character models are nicely done, the story is good and the overall premise is great. The lore of the game is in fact intriguing, especially if you visit the library in the beginning. You can tell that a lot of effort…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is garbage, but it is garbage with loads of ambition and overachieving. It coagulates echoes of Beyond Good and Evil, the Prince Of Persia 2003 reboots, and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver in its mechanics. But well, it's completely wrong, movement and controls are weird in whatever form you take. Non-combat areas are awkward to navigate, combat feels like too much work to be satisfying. Don't even talk to me about camera controls. The graphical artifacts are like a Gamecube game upscaled…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is rough around the edges no one can deny that, considering it went through development hell it's just about a miracle this game ever got out. There are bugs and the textures are a bit dated, but I would wholely reccommend this game based on the developers dedication to it. They are putting out patches quickly, addressing bugs and communicating with steam users through the steam forums. These guys work hard and have a big dedication to this game. I recieved my copy of edge of twilight…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please fix your game. The spider boss is extremely hard and just the endless ammounts of glitches and bugs. I like the game but PLEASE fix!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a nice story, and the world is beautiful. Other than that it's deeply broken. Almost nothing is interactive, theres only very basic controls and the camera angle is sickening and always rotating uncomfortably around (which means if you're running forward suddenly you're running backwards or sideways). It feels extremely unfinished. On top of that, the audio of non-central characters is inconsistent and frankly appalling. The game itself freezes frequently and the code is right…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy to the point of being broken, unfinished, and abandoned. Don't waste your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steampunk is really cool! Fighting is very enjoyable. I love the music and the art design.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've waited for this gave for about seven years, and it's not as... I would have hoped. Of course, I'm so happy it's out, but I'm just not as impressed as I thought I would be. At least not so far. I'm already confused on the first puzzle, in the underground night section after you fight the group of Tainted. What is the symbol code for the door/root sytem? I have no idea where to find it, and nothing is working. If anyone can help me , I'd be grateful.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though this game is a final product it seems like it's an unpolished early-access game. which won't be decent even after being completed because of the whole game process, it's simply meaningless and irritating... This game feels like a bad PC version of a console game with all these big "Press 'E' to use" buttons, uncontrolled and uncomfortable camera view and other "features" which make this thing unplayable. Yeah, almost forgot to mention that the largest part of your "gameplay" is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not even sure how I came to own this game, but I recommend you stay away. It took setting compatibility mode to Windows 7 and running the game as an admin just to get it to not crash instantly. The game contains dated graphics, terrible dialogue audio that was probably recorded on a cell phone while standing in a bathroom, and questionable controls. This is apparently an episodic game series, even though I can't seem to find anything saying such on the store page. You play as a young…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely the worst game I have ever played. The 36% of people that gave a positive review have to be trolling. A broken, unfinished mess
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a third person action/adventure/RPG kind of game where you control some guy in some steampunk fantasy land solving a big quest, or something. I skipped most of the storyline because it seems like it's half an hour to get into the game (the developer forces you to go through the whole set of credits before starting, which should be a red flag). The game itself is very badly polished for a 2016 game, although apparently it was in development hell for years. The game is a console port…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not like this game at all. The camera isn't controlled by the mouse, apparently you need three arms to play this game. Combat is not enjoyable whatsoever, its just button mashing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is ♥♥♥♥, camera management is awfull, controls are lame, can't stop in game cinematics, graphics is ♥♥♥♥, and the amount of glitches and bugs OMFG
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would truelly love to recommend this game but frankly the camera ruins it for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →missing a usefull map for the city maze NPCs are non interative unfinished game!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game has some interesting lore, ideas, and gameplay mechanics, it is an unfinished and buggy piece. I am fairly confident that when I originally got this game several years ago, there wasn't a disclaimer stating that it was "only the first chapter" of the game. As everyone else has stated in their review, there are numerous bugs within that made this largely unplayable. I was keen to see this game be fully realized, but, alas, that never came to be, which is a shame. I do not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edge of Twilight is an Episode 1, proof-of-concept demo of a game that aim(ed) to tell a large, epic story. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, PURCHASE THE DLC "COLLECTOR'S EDITION". It is a waste of money, as the studio appears largely defunct, and the promised story continuation is unlikely to ever appear. That being, said, this review will focus on Episode 1. Because despite the global situation around the game and the studio, I quite liked what's here. The world of Hellayem has been…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No way to play it. No matter what I tried to run it following the discussions board, the game keeps giving me an error. Do not buy, broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Animation is like from the 90s, strange camera, blurry textures. Voice-over feels too... Overacted, I guess. As the whole beginning is, even though it's being presented as if "normal day". Steampunk elements seem illogical at times. I mean, too illogical. Also, why does Lex crouches almost all the time? The way you are introduced to the story is bad, as well: you are thrown into it, but since it lacks proper dynamic (which should be present in such cases), it makes you feel bored, instead of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This appears to be an unfinished and just generally bad game. Also the base version is only chapter one which though stated in the description is still a touch deceptive. Doesn't matter to me as I didn't even get that far due to disappointment with gameplay. It's a shame because the setting and story seemed really cool but the moment I started actually playing I knew I didn't want to continue. No music real map or guidance in town can't interact with NPCs, controller usage doesn't change…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game with darn good graphics and a somewhat engaging story. The only real problem I have with this game is the camera, it completely turns battle/exploration into a complicated slog that majorly breaks the immersion and makes you want to skip any dialogue and just get through it quickly as you can.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a game, but one solid bug.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never written a bad review yet. I've had games failed on me. I've had games cause my sound card crashing and me having to buy a new one but the game actually worked so I couldn't fault the game and chalked it up to bad coincidence but this game.. oh boy... Luckily I did not buy this game and was gifted this game. That is the only saving grace. I literally tried for the past couple of hours to get this game to boot up and still it keeps on crashing after the startup of the steam logo ( not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game in its current state is nowhere near finished. It feels and plays like a bad PS2 port in alpha state. Although Edge of Twilight has potential and the steampunk setting is somewhat original I have my doubts that the devs can and will invest the time, work and money it takes to polish it. Levels are extremely linear with boss fights being unnecessarly difficult because of laggy movement controls and an abysmal camera. Some of the checkpoints are badly placed forcing you to do the same…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Then I played Dave the Diver; I'd been letting my reticence to play pixel art games keep me away from some *great* games. Because I played Dave the Diver, I gave Vampire Survivors a chance. I would have missed Balatro! Edge of Twilight – Return to Glory is still the worst game I've ever played.
unlabelledView post →this is an unfinished mess that's barely if at all playable, but with enormous potential basking beneath the diarrhea stew, sort of like Sonic 06 or Damnation. Except those games I was able to complete. This one might not let me due to bugs, or I just can't figure out what to do. I am stuck on some giant ape part that requires me to pull levers. To activate one you have to step on a switch first then get about 2-3 seconds to pull another lever that's a good 12 second walk away. I found another…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edge of Twilight – Return To Desktop Took me more than ten tries and as many configuration experiments until I managed to reach the titlescreen at least. Never seen more of the game than that. And the performance was "slideshow". The game is crashing to desktop permanently. None of the workarounds worked for me. Thats too little content even for a free demo - and they want you to pay 15 bugs for that. My machine: i7-9700K, Z390 Aorus Master, Geforce RTX 2070s, 16 GB, Win10 64bit
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every bad review is dead right. That camera... Don't waste your time with this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started with curiosity, ended with regret. Clunky combat, awkward design, and a story that feels like it was stitched together at 3 AM. It’s not just rough—it’s a full-on train wreck in slow motion. 3/10—big NO, would rather watch paint dry in 144p.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has the potential, but it's garbage. Sorry not sorry. I was so excited about it given its steampunk world... Nope...Thank you and goodbye...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not work even after they tried to patch it then they just stopped working on it. Buy if you feel lucky. Hrs played on game is not true Couldn't get it to play. Just says Exe. has stopped working looking for a solution. End of story. Running as Administrator does not work, verifying files does not work. Rebooting computer does not work. It has never changed from the first day I bought it. And no help. Complete garbage. "UPDATE" UUugh!!!!!!!! Goto File location on manage game- Binaries-…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe worst Bethesda game? I would like to introduce you to the existence of Edge of Twilight – Return to Glory. I can't, because it's no longer for sale on Steam, but I had the twin misfortunes of having it in my Steam library, and then actually playing it in January.
unlabelledView post →This looks very promising, beautiful scenery, but unfortunately there is an FPS cap on this game that makes it very frustrating and cumbersome to play. I cannot recommend this until the developer updates the graphics engine to faciliate 60fps.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting game. I enjoy it allot. Very nice music and setting.
