positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Released too early! There is some promise here, don't get me wrong, but too many bugs for my taste. Constantly getting "no path" errors when moving. Getting stuck in doorways as the AI can't decide who to let through, killer bug if everyone is stacked up on the door when you're trying to take a room. Characters get glitched out on ladders forcing you to shoot them off. Grenades bouncing off invisible walls/not following their arc. Certain weapons won't shoot through windows? Melee characters…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In A Nutshell Pros + Decent character creation system. + Decent variety of weapons, gear, accessories and items. + Decent combat system. + Good graphical style, models and effects. + Multiplayer PvP modes in a Tactical RPG: a fresh gameplay concept rarely seen. + Level editor included to create missions and content, integrated with Workshop. + Multi-crew vehicles and deployable defenses are nice features. Cons - Active player-base is very small and finding anyone to play with is very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What to say? This game is great. Basically it's like Fallout Tactics with real-time only, but the real-time aspect really is very well done here. It's a lot of fun with both fast-paced action and a serious tactical element. While the game does focus on multiplayer, you can still play solo scenarios, there is a ton of content on the workshop and with an super-easy to use editor there is bound to be more and you can always create your own. The devs also suplied a very good and fun tutorial, that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks like THE spiritual successor to "Fallout: Tactics" -- and indeed it could have been. The combat mechanics are pretty stellar actually -- and if you only care about shootouts in online multiplay you won't be disappointed. However, I bought this game for the campaign... which for a score of reasons is REALLY weak... obviously an afterthought to a game that was going great up to that point. First of all, no co-op for the campaign. second -- I'm like 20 missions in and I have yet to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustwind is poor mans fallout game with horrific UIs. Unfortunately, little did i know that this game is horrendously bugged mess and not only that, but also barely any info gameplay has about anything. 1) Let us start with tutorial in which you can experience early bugs. From time to time you as the player will be able to "drive" armored vehicle. but unfortunately that vehicle drives into mountains or any obstacle and gets stuck for some reason even though trying to drive in reverse it is…

Is this game a masterpiece? It looks like Fallout Tactics. I loved that game, but there never was a real sequel. So I must play Dustwind! Ok... this does not play like Fallout. It plays like a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy game. No turns, no time to think, everything real-time. Of course, this game was developed as an online multiplayer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: Review is no longer relevant, while they never advertised as early access when i bought this it was and has received a number of updates since. Also appears to have a single player campaign now. Try at your own risk. I will update this on playing further if i do not refund the game, i do really want to like this game. Which is why i was so dissapointed with what i found. I do see the potential for something within this game but at present it completely fails to capitilise on this.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games firehose doesn't seem to be slowing today. The one that surprises me most is that Dustwind - an indie tribute to Fallout Tactics - is getting a sequel. Today. Looks to be more story-focused than the last They don't seem to have promoted it AT ALL. Zero press releases in my inbox archive.
unlabelledView post →I have been waiting for a game like this for years. I think the developers of this game 'get it'. Even the tutorial was packed with fun and humor. I think the negative reviews are off base. I can tell that this is a passion prpject. No loot boxes or pay to win. Look forward to seeing what the developers and community do to further enhance this game. Highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy game thinking there is campaign with character customization. Finds out game has no campaign Jumps into PVP last man standing game to try before refunding Played for like 20 hours straight had a blast outsmarting oppenents. Improvise adapt survive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You got the combat from fallout tactics here. That's all this game is the campaign they put in it is a joke you could make a better one with the editor. There's nobody playing online and it's a mostly online game. Developers should have pushed it toward single-player games but instead they expected this to blow up as a multiplayer game with a combat system from the 90s. I'm a fan of the combat, but this isn't even a game there is nothing here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start off by saying I really wanted to like this game. But one other customer put it quite well: "not worth it for the price, feels like a mod of an old game without the content of the original game." It shamelessly borrows a lot from an old game called "Fallout Tactics" for the PC. which is also for sale here on steam. And I'll be honest, I was excited to see Fallout Tactics revived with a spiritual successor. But I'll keep it short: This game is more or less the multiplayer component…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for 20 solid hours before posting this review. Do I feel like I've gotten 20-hours worth of gameplay? No. The game is fun, and I will never deny that point. If Fallout Tactics wasn't trying to be such a hybrid, and went entirely for the Real-Time with Pause, this would be it. The gameplay itself is great. It's everything else that is not. The story is cliche and poorly scripted. If you speak English, beyond the opening cut scene, it's very clear that this is an afterthought…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honest description would go like this: "It's not PvE, it's a bunch of ONLINE ARENA maps with BOTS. Do not expect progression or any sort of metagame." You would say I was not paying attention and fooled myself into buying this - and you are kind of right. But the choice of words and screenshots is kind of vague for what they are trying to sell here. Now some reviewers here are playing along and help the developer sell FALLOUT TACTICS nostalgia, but let me remind you what that game was, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This had a pretty good core aesthetic and fun mechanics. But the devs decided to make it a multiplayer-focused game. And as a result, it is dead in the water.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a really nice car with square wheels
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is alot of fun. At first I was all "no campain, no way" but saw it was only $14.00 and decided to give it a go. So much fun, its like an online jagged alliance that has awesome ragdoll physics that crack me up each time. You can not be too mad when you are killed due the haHA moment you just had with it. Thumbs up, and the dev plays with you online, thats pretty cool. Tons of customization to boot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nobody playing it online
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like an updated version of Fallout Tactics. If you like the origional fallout games this is one for you. Pros: - Easy interface - Combat System is Balanced - Weapon drops keep you on par with enemies Cons: - No Initial Character customization - Story is very liner
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completed the tutorial, started the Campaign and . . . it's a blast! Ignore the old reviews - it has a Campaign, Skirmish Mode, Editor, a wealth of graphics settings, adjustable difficulty and it's FUN. No, it is not voiced by the cast of Game of Thrones and the story is not deep and meaningful. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, two friends and I decided we would build a new squad for a co-op mission. One guy decided to bring a heavy weapons specialist with an explosive .50 cal rifle. The other decided he would build a tanky Robot dude. For a laugh, I decided to make a hobo archer that shot plungers. We start the mission, and it turns out the robot guy forgot to give himself a weapon. So, I jokingly shot a plunger at his guy to use instead. It missed and critically hit the heavy weapons guy in the face,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get this game if you wanted a co-op version of Wasteland or Fallout (before Bethesda). Shallow character creator, with limited weaponry that is chosen when creating your character. Odd controls where the default play is more or less on autopilot. The game even had to go out of it's way in the tutorial, to tell people not to click on the enemy you wish to target. The co-op is just maps in which you have to kill all targets on the map. Those targets appear in the same place each play…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was fun for a bit but got repetitive. Also, pretty buggy. My latest quick save loads into failed mission even though I saved in between waves of enemies. Can't be bothered going back 20mins so I uninstalled. Shows how much I respect this game. A good try at Fallout Tactics but no where near as good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks like the Dev just gave up...sad...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →don't waste your time dev's abandoned and broke the game never buy again from this dev
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am interested only in playing the campaign, and, unfortunately, the campaign is weak. The game can probably entertain you if you're into tactical battles and don't care about plot, writing, intrigue, and character development, because there is none of the above.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow our curator for similar games https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/ Real time tactics + gore + playable dog = Fallout tactics style gameplay and theme. 10 hours of campaign, multiplayer and map editor. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let’s start by saying that I really wanted to love this game. I was swayed by nostalgia over Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel but was ultimately confronted with the realization that Dustwind still needs a lot of polish to compete with modern games. The AI, in general, isn’t anything special which in some cases takes away any bit of immersion you might wanted to experience. Enemies screaming HELP due to low health, but insist on running towards you, or staying completely stationary while…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(I should note, this is reviewing the game as a single player campaign, which is not really the game's focus, but that's what I play games for.) look, there are things I like about this game. kicking people off edges, kicking people in the nuts and seeing "crippled groin!" pop up. dudes going flying from explosions and random moments like that which have given me some laughs. but..... like, as a game, as a challenge, as an experience, or work of art, it basically fails on every level,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the campaign after approx 20 hours. Was an enjoyable deviation from my usual tactical turn based rpgs. Realtime stealth based combat was really well done. UI was somewhat clunky but became much easier after realising that the spacebar (pause) is your friend. Campaign, while hohum, was interesting enough to push you to complete. Rough translation didn't help though. Able to save anytime is a real plus. The portrait for your main character is just plain ugly but custom portraits…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot give a positive review of this game. I tryied... but this is getting worse everytime i play on it. I really wanted to love this game. - **DEAD** This game is dead, in all ways. No one plays PvP, no ones play PvE. If you have friends to play with... give it a try but do not expect playing solo. - **DIFFICULTY** The difficulty of this game will make you nuts.. it is hardcore on every map unless you know exact positions of every enemies. It is a TRY HARD game until you finish…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dedicated indie Spiritual successor for Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel in modern day Graphics. Dustwind emphasizes tactical combat and strategy. You can customize character and equipment like in old school fallout games. Really fun and challenging combat missions with 1 till 6 playable cool characters in real time, you can even make own custom characters. You can have humans, robots and dogs, LOL^^ You can even make own maps or play custom maps made by community.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review copy provided by developer Getting an indie game to take off on Steam is hard enough, but launching a multiplayer-based one is just stacking the entire deck against yourself. There are so many dominant multiplayer games out there already, covering every conceivable genre, that hoping to carve out a bit for yourself is a real long-shot. That’s what Dustwind’s trying to do with its real-time take on the Fallout Tactics concept (if you remember that relatively black sheep of an already…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game kinda works well but there's no real single or coop campaign, it's just random custom maps and there's not enough players online to make it workable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLEASE MAKE IT COOP CAMPAIGN!!! PLEASE MAKE IT COOP CAMPAIGN!!! PLEASE MAKE IT COOP CAMPAIGN!!! PLEASE MAKE IT COOP CAMPAIGN!!! PLEASE MAKE IT COOP CAMPAIGN!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game except no playerbase. Do not buy until you like to play solo vs bots. They should think about free week or something to increase playerbase as that game never get players.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible UI. No story to speak of. No AI to speak of. Completely unbelievable world. Tedious inventory management. Outdated graphics. But worst of all: no tactics? This is a tactical game for crying out loud!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great concept -poorly executed. As a fan of Fallout Tactics (This games inspiration) I really wanted to like Dustwind, but it falls short. There isn't enough here, it doesn't really feel like a finished game. So I'm afraid into the Dustbin goes Dustwind.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not fun there is no story
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason, there's no one ever online, and the spawn-camping NPCs are just FANTASTIC! 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game in the style of Fallout Tactics with many options to traverse the rather linear campaign.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multyplayer and the main single player mode(skirmish) has unlocks and timed challanges. I want to have FUN, but progression systems stop me. A game with a tiny playerbase.... WHY WOULD YOU GATE OFF CONTENT IN A PAYED PRODUCT LIKE THIS!??! Bad game design disgusts me. YOU want a posative review? make 5 more games then you can *unlock* a positive reveiw. INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like i have to remake my review. It remains negative. Lack of content for editors. Very underwhelming. thank.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beware the following is a positive review, athough may appear heavily critiqed. Dustwind really has true potential, the only gripe i have is {control} controls I need to be able to direct and shoot my targets. The developers should at least make that aspect optional. Who doesnt like that earned reward of a hard won kill? Or a satifying outcome of tense & risky low percentage shot. I mean to say, yes there are fault issues with the software/hardware conflicts. And hopefully this group will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun game, but needs more players. I think fans of strategy, the original Fallout games, or tactical turn-based games should look into this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Fallout Tactics vibes that brings back the Classic Fallout feelings. All in one a good decent game that was clearly made with a lot of passion by people that really enjoyed the Classic isometric Fallout games. The Good: - amazing graphics, blending 3D with classic Fallout era isometric style graphics - tons of guns, each with its own interesting playstyle - great RPG stats that don't feel overwhelming yet gives you a good sense of progression - interesting missions, plenty of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Isometric combat with cooperative and online PVP. It's a Fallout style world with fluid combat. It has a single player campaign, and skirmish modes that you can play solo. There are player and dev made maps. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The single player campaign they added to the game started out fun, but the longer I progressed I realized that it's just a save scummers paradise. The reason for this is that the missions, and the game since there's hotkeys to select teammember 1-6, seem balanced for a team, but you're always alone. So even with the best gear I've found, and maxed out combat and defensive skills you can die in seconds. The enemies have the same gear, are plenty and will mow you down in a blink of an eye way to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not worth it for the price, feels like a mod of an old game without the content of the original game. Not rly that fun either, gets repetetive fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept and was very excited about this. Played the tutorial and enjoyed it for the most part. The controls are very clunky. For a game that has only been out for little while I expected to be able to jump into multiplayer games with no problem. I couldn't find any games to join. I refunded the purchase. If they can address the issues and polish it up I'd be willing to give it another shot in the future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, but feels little empty and flat, maybe coz im get feeling of not done backed product after few hours of gameplay. Same textures for different stuff. 5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really like the concept of this game. Weapons are cool game play are ok. But this game is too buggy and too unpolished in my opinion. Some basic bugs are mentioned by users long time ago without being fix(I am talking about the chapter to get a car).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked old Fallout Tactics multiplayer - that's basically it, but newer, better, faster, stronger.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's very little reason to play this game. To start, the game is quite buggy. Often times, pathfinding can bug out, and sometimes, actions such as stopping, crouching, etc. don't activate on the first try. The game can also have some weird preformance hiccups, where some things in game, such as character or environmental animations, or the mouse currsor itself, will run and update at 10-20fps while everything else in game is running at 60fps, which is incredibly bizzare and can impact…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dev's sent this game to me for an honest review, and now that it's in official release I feel it's time to give it. I had huge hopes for this game. I've been a follower of their cosplay page on Facebook for years, and I'm really in to post-apocalyptic everything. It was advertised as a, "post-apocalyptic XCOM" and it tried really hard to be that. There's just one really huge thing missing that they promised from the beginning: A single player camaign. There's no single player campaign.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tactical game where you can play against eachother or with eachother. Works well and is nicely put together.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just bought it for $9. I'm using it as a sandbox to run a rogue / stealth group through custom missions I build myself. For that purpose, there's nothing else like it. Like X-Com 2 with a map editor built into it with a good UI, unlike most map editors. It's fun. Reminds me of Warcraft 2 map editor back in the day :). If you're like me and you can use head canon to tell your story and don't need a long-term campaign from a dev studio, then this game is cray. It's like a solo DnD campaign. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have enjoyed game as in some ways it reminded me of Fallout 1 and 2 (and unofficial 1.5) but mostly Fallout tactics. There is one story with character progressing from nobody to saviour of all. About MP - it is good for getting missing achievements. (But most of them you can get in single play). But probably there is not much people to play. But you could enjoy survival maps, create your own and if you have some friend to play probably have some fun with those. Just wondering if there…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story is to short. But game has huge potencial, its reaqlly close to fallout tactics and wasteland mix. With greater story line it could be game changer.
