positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's criminal that this game doesn't get more attention. I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface in terms of skill at this game. The movement is some of the most satisfying I've played in any 2D platformer. It may feel a little awkward to get used to at first, but once you get it, it feels amazing. Learning each level until you can get SS rank is also super fun and satisfying. Each level is also only a minute or two long at most, which makes it super easy to restart a level if you mess…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"dustforce" is a really incredible precision platformer. i bought it on sale for 5 dollars and i already feel like i got my money's worth. if you like celeste or meat boy this is a must buy. that being said, if you're buying this game in 2026 there is one thing you need to know: !!! IMPORTANT !!! If you are like me, and playing on a 144hz monitor and are using an x-input controller, your dash is not going to register every time you input it (at least if it's on the trigger, i have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the quintessential pure 2D platformers out there. With enough content and challenge to satisfy hardcore fans of the genre, while also sporting one hell of a soundtrack. Needless to say, Dustforce is a game every platforming enjoyer should experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So part of me really likes the game. It controls well and the mechanics are fun The other part of me dislikes that you cannot sightread the levels. You're supposed to replay and master the levels. And replaying is slow. Super Meatboy: You ♥♥♥♥ up, it takes .3 seconds to restart the level Dustforce: You mess up, you lose all your momentum, the run is ruined but your character just stands there. You can either shamefully crawl to the finish line or open the menu to restart the level Dustforce…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know when I'll finish Dustforce but I don't think my opinions will change by then, so I'll get this out now. It's a really unique and fun game, but it takes some work to get into. I think a lot of platformers try take aspects from other games in the same genre to feel familiar, which is not a negative thing per se, while Dustforce is trying to be the most singular it can be. There's a lot of movement tech that I haven't seen implemented like this anywhere else and playing with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addictive and agonizing. Love it, just like my drugs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is phenomenally criminal that I've loved this game for as long as I have, consistently recommended it to all and yet never reviewed it myself. I guess I may as well right that wrong now. Likely due to 2D Indie platformer over saturation, Dustforce glided over most radars, which is upsetting, but doesn't make it any less precious. With the most gorgeous aesthetic, serene music, whimsical environments, endless replayability, whirlpools of content, this game does everything one of its genre…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's like pizza tower but with dust instead of pizza
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% recommend this game for one reason: soundtrack. This game is 14 years old and I still regularly listen to the soundtrack by Lifeformed. It's fantastic. Came for the janitorial work, stayed for the OST.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is my roman empire
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls closer to a fighting game than a platformer, with a unique feeling of weight and commitment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The way character controls immediately turned me off the game. Way too floaty. You tap a directional button, the character runs a quarter of a screen, automatically hops over corners and obstacles when you don't want it too, get magnetized to walls and ceilings when you don't want to, just feels much worse to control than other platformers I played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Celeste if it was good But unironically some of the best movement I have ever seen in a platformer EVER. The game feels very heavy, but it's a good thing. The character you play as has a lot of weight and you need to use your momentum to be able to move without losing your combo. This makes for a very satisfying gameplay loop of speeding up, jumpign, sliding and cleaning. The OST is also amazing, it feels very chill, almost lofi-ish. It's a really good game, if you have played other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I played Dustforce DX, i had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend, depression and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far as I'm concerned, this is still the all-time greatest platformer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustforce is a stellar and incredibly unique 2D platformer that is bogged down by attempts at great design that end up falling flat to newcomers. I VERY tentatively recommend it and only IF you have difficult platformer experience. I have not and likely will never finish this game. Background: I played this with keyboard, and have currently SSd all levels in Bronze and Silver. I have 320 hours in Celeste focusing on doing deathless runs of the individual chapters. I have 80 hours in N++.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The soundtrack, oh my goodness. Gameplay feel is a bit stiff and movement feels delayed a bit in my opinion. That soundtrack, though...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me as someone who came here thinking it was going to be a platformer like celeste i was simply wrong. After youve input your action, most notably the jump, you feel like you lose a lot of control over the character wich makes the game have a higher skill ceiling, but also makes it feel clunky to get into and a bit unintuitive. There are lots of people who enjoy this though so if youre able to deal with that and want a good precision platformer, great purchase!! As for me, not so much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustforce is my favorite 2d platformer of all time and a common pick for my favorite game of all time. Many other reviewers have commented on the early clunkiness of the controls and the learning curve. Players interested in this game should know that the learning curve is not nearly as long as it seems. Playing through and achieving a perfect rank (something that is challenging but doable on every level in the game) on each level was one of the most amazing journeys I've gone through in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best feeling platformers ever made Takes time to learn to control the characters, but given the time it is one of, if not the best platformer I have ever played The music is also incredible and fits the art almost perfectly The community is also pretty welcoming and still fairly active, so if you have ever considered buying this I highly recommend you do so
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first game i ever bought on steam lol it was good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →extremely satisfying platformer with good music. very fun to go for the SS ranks
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustforce is the best platformer I've ever played by a long shot. It is a masterclass in level design, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who's interested.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underrated and incredibly high quality 2D platformer, with the same level of rewarding and in-depth precision gameplay as Celeste. Don't sleep on this game, it's incredibly fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the first digital-only games I ever bought on Steam. Challenging platformer. Way beyond my skill capacity but still fun, elegant, and heart-reaching to play. There's almost something spiritual about it in my opinion. $10 is steep, though. Wait for a sale; $5 is more the ticket.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very interesting game with tight controls. Recommended for fans of platformers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fluid yet precise mechanics that make it a very satisfying platformer which holds up 14 years later. It has plenty of base content that should keep you occupied for a few hundred hours, and if you finish all of that there are plenty of community-made levels too. I would say this is my second favourite platformer behind Celeste
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's an NPC who advises the player against entering the final stage hub. Consider listening to them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favourite platformer ever. Extremely deep and enjoyable movement system with a bunch of levels to push it to its limit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sound track of this game is 100% worth it, I bought the game for the sound track in the trailer and I'm not mad about it. The game itself isn't easy. I've had the game for years, and haven't been able to get anywhere in it. It's probably a skill issue. But either way. I'd recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a good game inside here, but this isn't that game. The movement system is exhilirating when you master it, but feels more than clunky for hours once playing. Controls, even after mastery, feel unresponsive. There seems to be very little buffer, and for the dash specifically, has very specific conditions that need to be met to preform one, paired with the fact it struggles to register past 60hz. The levels are mostly alright, but the difficulty curve is horrendous. Normal levels and wood…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustforce DX, easily. Levels are accessible based on whether you unlocked keys from earlier difficulties + whether you've learned the skills to access them (theres no unlockables skills in the game, so it's mostly just a "have you figured out how to do X" thing). It's also just a fun playground!
unlabelledView post →Best platformer ever made. If you do buy dustforce get dustmod free online with it. Endless custom levels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement takes a while to get used to and some parts can be frustrating, but Dustforce is overall a spectacular platformer and going through to get the SS ranks is always so wonderfully challenging and rewarding. Very good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no coyote time which isnt apparent at the start but becomes a MAJOR issue later all of the deaths in the later parts of the game feel like they arent your fault i know it was made in 2012 but come on man did nobody test these levels?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unique, fast, and demands perfection. A wonderful gem for speedrunners and casual players alike.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they made the most fun game ever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super challenging platformer. It lacks tutorials so I would recommend watching some videos to see how to reach levels or clear levels as they are technicques that are not shown in the tutorial. There is a github link with lots of explanations on movements and mechanics. If you are up to a challenge, I would recommend it. The music is really good and when you master the levels, its super satisfying as it looks super smooth. For the achievement, you need SS on all levels and the first one that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controlls are too floaty for me. Uninstalled
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like a platform you would like to vedge out and listen to deeply is this game is the one. dustforce has great music and smooth controls that you can manage quickly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dustforce is probably mechanically the best 2D platformer I've ever played
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is 1000% worth your time in 2025. Criminal I've never rated it, it's a classic fav that never goes out of style. If you remotely enjoy platformers, purchase now. Thank me later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is so underrated. Everyone who loves platformers should play it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd be doing Hitbox Team a disservice if I said it was anything short of the best game ever made.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 would play as a janitor who cleans up the world again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cleanliness is next to godliness, so get on your hands and start praying with this fast paced skill based platforming masterpiece. 10/10 Pink a cute
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i figured out what causes dust to spawn in my room.................... goblins
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pizza Tower was inspired by Super Mario World and Wario Land 4 most people say and I agree with. However, I also think Dustforce DX was also a big inspiration for Pizza Tower. Strike A Taunt. Combo Meter Don't Drop It. S Ranks From Combo Entire Stage No Dropping It.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lifeformed's OST is among the best ever composed. The gameplay matches beautifully with the soundscape.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →momentum is rad
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You need this game to master the broom so you can go clean your filthy house!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dime-a-dozen shindie that prioritizes the fleeting dopamine rush from overcoming tedious challenges over the gameplay that leads to it. The "game" is best described as a corporate memphis flavored series of trial-and-error exercises that instantly fail-states you for having a human soul.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game I feel doesn't do a fantastic job of mechanic explanations. I have been left wonderful multiple times as to why the character didn't grab a roof in certain cases, and why if you slide off a roof it takes your jump away, you have to jump BEFORE the end of a roof grab to get vertical momentum or drop off before the end of the roof which is a strange choice. To be honest, I thought for double S rank was time and completion, but it was apparently Completion (how much of the level you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is "the flow state" incarnate. Tight controls and a hauntingly serene soundtrack create an environment that I am more than happy to sit in for hours at a time. Learning tough as nails levels for the perfect run.
