60 of 194 · most liked first♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story, honestly. And the gameplay is incredibly mediocre. "We've been fighting these savages for five years, we need you to squish and massacre them for the next fifty missions" "Oh no, the tribals attacked a science facility and subjected themselves to this virus we were cooking up with test subjects. How horrible, it's spreading throughout them, we need to stop this epidemic even though it's better for us if they all die!" "Oh no, this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scientist whose entire…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developers definitely need to go further and create their own brand of weapons. Stones and bows with stone tips that accurately pierce combat vehicles. Where is the logic in this game? How does metal burn from fire arrows? How do goblins stay on the hull while moving, and why do they try to hit it?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the most frustrating part of the game is that the art shows a giant robot shooting all the bad guys but once you play the game you realize 1. you don't have the ammo to do that so you have to step on everyone the whole time, and 2. you have to walk backwards onto people attacking you from behind. after that the whole game becomes a rhythm game of trying to step on people at the right moment rather than a power fantasy of shooting natives. but the game obviously expects you to spend at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me save someone some time. You can only side with the weird alien guys or else you're a bad guy for choosing humanity over something else. If you choose humanity, you die. That's it. Even though you'll wipe the floor with the last "boss" fight if you can even call it that. A magical rocket she fires off hits your oxygen supply and you die. It's such a ♥♥♥♥ ending that I had to write a review it was so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. The upgrade system is TRASH, your rocket launchers are TRASH because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I HATE aliens, im not racist or anything I just dont place the lives of non humans above the lives of humans, this driving philosophy first discovered when i was like 12 and the movie avatar came out is imparative for you to understand later grievances. BE-A Walker is an amazing walking simulator in which you will spend your most formative hour(s) buckling like a baby deer trying desparately to curb stomp a scary looking rabbit. By the time your comfortable striding in your walker manually you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good gameplay, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lore youre led to believe that the goblins are good because they protect natutre n ♥♥♥♥, and it completely forgets that earth herself is dying and the el dorado mission is supposed to save her, but the game just says that everyone on earth is rich n powerful because why not i guess and then theres the ending. you just die. not a sacrifice or anything you can do to change it, you just die its a really good game, but the reward for finishing it is just... death.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nah. Gameplay is interesting but balanced like like a jenga tower after a 60 minute game on a shake plate, and he UI is as responsive as my dead uncle. The difficulty spike between the first few levels and the first boss is steeper than my gas bill in November, and the Oxygen drones are just useless not even 3 hours in and I can already tell the story is gonna be a generic juvenile "Humans bad, weird goblins good because nature or whatever" and the fact a stone age societ can take down a mech…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs clearly dont know how to do difficulity right. Armor upgrdes feel like they are stripping armor from you rather that adding. You will waste all your money on repairs and drones rather than upgrades. Weapons are pathetically weak and overheat way too much. All this on NORMAL difficulity. Do not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game, gets repetitive fast. still fun, but the ending was so bad I never want to play the game again. I was going to give this game a good review, but a game like this, that has such limited gameplay and little replayability should have been carried by the story. but the problem is the story falls short so whats the point of even playing? the story is... fine. I found the plot to be basic, but enough to keep me playing. the motivation of some of the characters is baffling and not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a positive not recommended. The gameplay per se is quite solid, a star wars-esque AT walker robot (but probably twice the size) complete with a blaster, a light-heavy size ballistics launcher, and a grenade launcher. You will need all 3 of these and good use of your stomping shoes to complete most missions. Which brings me to the main reason i do NOT recommend this: I have read several responses from the developers throughout the community pages. They put an emphasis on trying to create…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I stopped playing because of the mines. It was fun for a while, very simple game with an interesting story. But then I got to the mines. The way you are supposed to get through the mines is to walk next to them and they climb out of the ground where you can shoot them or step over them. You have to get REALLY close for them to pop up, like almost touching them close, enough to accidentally step on one even when taking the tiniest steps possible. At first I tried to engage the game the way it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You have to control each leg which is super annoying and repetitive. There is a limited autopilot but you still have to hold down a key to keep walking. That and a bunch of strange design decisions which very quickly make the game a chore. Not for everyone and maybe for younger minds & fingers only.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Avatar, cept you get to play as the good guys (the RDA)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly a unique and fun game, but the downsides made me not recommend it. Heres a list from least to worst reasons: 1. A lot of grammatical errors, the translation is noticeably sub-par. 2. Can be repetitive 3. This one made me down vote- the endings are awful and their is not secret ending. I won't spoil it but I was left disappointed and sad having gotten attached to the story and getting no closure whatsoever! Lazy writing! The developer stated they didn't have the resources to finish.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels nigh unfair to give this game a bad review, but it's simply not fun. The concept is fantastic, and I can see that these devs got their inspiration from Avatar, but it just doesn't feel like an atmospheric game. If I really am on an alien planet, where is all the Plant life? Just looks like I'm just romping around the Amazon Rainforest, if I am honest... I will be keeping an eye on this game, but I would not recommend it for the price they are asking.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BE-A Walker -- Be... A... Walker... ...hey, that's pretty good! BAM! BAM! BAM! shoot things, blast things, blow up stuff! It's almost like you're an AT-ST straight from 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘴! And as far as storytelling goes, I enjoyed it. You'll get to a point... where you have to make a choice, and I won't spoil them of course, but whatever one you pick is up to you, let your personal morality be your compass. I had an amazing time playing this game, I'll say that. A couple of translation…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the gameplay *could* be fun, it is seriously hindered by the oxygen mechanic. I can't really elaborate on which parts when it's EVERY part of the game that is choked to death on it. Want to buy upgrades? Too bad, if you don't dump all your money into filter upgrades you die. Want to do escort/rescue missions? Too bad, the extra person, in an ENVIRO-SUIT, has now doubled your oxygen supply. I'm fine with enemies getting harder, but when it doesn't give you the resources necessary to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →enjoyable style, interesting controls, limited backgrounds, 3 mission types, 2 of which consist of 'go slow, don't step on things', annoying mechanic where you have to preserve your energy for your weapon, but have to shoot your weapon to cycle which of 2 lanes you're shooting in. half the weapons feel unusable, or are straight up disabled in 40% of fights. lackluster story that parallels the avatar humans v natives / star wars empire v ewoks, doesn't expand on it, no grey. both women…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, It's about 6 hours to hammer out the campaign from front to end. when you 'UPGRADE' a weapon you are actually purchasing a brand new weapon that has to be seperatly equiped. The dialoge is a mix of good, some bad, like 2 writing errors, a TINY bit fourth wall and meme. The controls are NOT ERGONOMIC. AT ALL. my arm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hurts after playing this for 12.1 hours in one day. The gameplay is... engaging, perfect for big stompy mech fans, genuinly very fun with some basic options to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended! (For very specific people with a very specific sense of curiosity) Good bits: > Upgrade system (Standard stuff but enjoyable for what it is) > Shooting things with guns, lazers, and rockets. > Squishing things with giant metal feet. > Pretending to be an AT-ST from star wars. Not-so-good bits: > Repetitive. Very Repetitive. > Walker can't go any faster than walking. Even on MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. > Minefield missions and "Don't-step-on-people" missions. You'll see what I mean. > The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wanna play a game that's mind numbingly repetitive, thrives off constantly performing genocide on what feels like a particularly derogatory variation of the 'indigenous-people-as-aliens' trope, all whilst you struggle to pay attention to a ♥♥♥♥ story that clumsily tries to 'both sides' colonial conquest? play BE-A walker
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this wasn't on sale, then i wouldn't have tried it. lots of issues that they don't care about anymore. (obviously) You cant turn around (why have enemies that spawn behind?) Missions are repetitive along with dialog. Not enough credits earned after missions and not enough upgrades in general. Its a cool concept but they didn't do much but make a cash grab. Walking mechanics are cool, but didn't do enough for the combat. Sadly wasted money even tho it was on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much potential. Fun gameplay, interesting premise, good weapons. The game was really fun to play. . . Until the end. [Minor Spoilers ahead] The game's ending feels abrupt, not giving clarity on anything, just straight up ending without warning. And then once it ends, there's not really much you can do. You can play the game again to get the separate ending, but the gameplay or story doesn't change much. There's no game loop after that, so if you want to play the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well the basics are fun, you walk then shoot and stomp the bad guys, the gameplay could have been more polished and more options on weapons would improve things, also why its not possible to turn around eludes me, well most likely a game mechanic to increase the challenge but the idea of a walker is to be a walking tower so not being able to turn and shoot what approaches from behind looses immersion, another thing is the story, sadly so most likely a simplyfied version of Avatar but it had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good game, but please note its the type of Indie game you play twice to see both routes then never play again. So be warned you will have fun your first two playthroughs but after that there is nothing to do except collect all the achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, it's a nicely crafted game. Good and engaging mechanics, interesting proposition. But unbalanced. I'm stuck on the first boss. It's just too hard for me. The game is unforgiven, you need to do exactly what you are supposed to do with little to no deviation, rendering some armament choices next to useless. And frustrating. It's just too hard for me, I couldn't find my way on the first boss in the easiest mode, what to say about the rest of the game? I struggled to decide between…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you ever wanted to be inside an AT-ST while shooting the Naavi from Avatar this is the game for you (Warning: Moderate-High difficulty even on normal mode, it mostly depends on your loadout.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little game, for sure! Controlling your walker might seem a little difficult and overwhelming at first but keep at it. Personally, I very much like my 'Ewok Stomping Simulator'! It's a great indie game with a small price tag, so give it a whirl. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seven Neighs out of Ten Overall, to me, the entire way the game is set up, presented, and told harkens back to the olden days of flash games on Newgrounds, Kongergate, etc. that tries to tackle a hard-to-advertise premise in a somewhat-fumbled way, but backs it up with a solid, yet repetitive, gameplay loop. The idea of having to manually control each leg and cockpit sway to dodge projectiles and throw off boarders is super cool, and honestly completes that small little nagging feeling I had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first started playing I thought - for sure I'd recommend it, then a bit more I thought... eeeh maybe not.. and now I'm back to a thumbs up. Here's the whys and whats - The good - Very unique walking mechanic, you quickly somehow learn to walk this thing and stomp on tribals. The bad - The early story didn't convince me to hate the locals so stomping and blasting them never felt right. The inbetween - You've got to stomp them - because you aren't given enough ammo/energy to get the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Repetitive & lack of fun. Nice graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Psygnosis made basically the same game for the Amiga back in 1993, it was called Walker. "BE-A Walker" has the same pros and cons that Walker did. Pros: It looks cool and is fun at first. Cons: You end up fighting the controls and the game play gets repetitive after a while. Still, it's an okay little game for the price I guess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It starts off pretty cool when your walker is just sitting there unable to move. Then the intro is over and you have to start moving your walker which has absolutely terrible movement controls which forces you to move each leg individually. There is no option to change it to just walking forward or backwards without having to spam wasd. It is an immediate turn off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HUMANITY FIRST. Definitely get on sale, fun little scroller, very satisfying!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cool, but the controls are so weird like clop the old horse flash game. The guns and such are neat you feel like a AT ST taking on ewoks, but the story felt like 3 people worked on it in shifts. It starts with you in a last stand finally being executed by a goblin tribal guy, then flash foward to you being that guys brother who I think had some hatred towards them. It is mentioned there were attempts to co-exist peacefully, but the natives started the fight. Eventually after filler some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thats how it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ends? Max upgrades, encouraging words and you just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DIE? You did not make a game objectively good enough to pull off an ending like that you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nitwits. Hope the dev team ended up on the frontlines of Ukraine. Gameplay: Walker handles and moves well, aiming is a bit janky at first but can get the hand of it easily enough. Enemy spawns are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous, especially in later missions. Nothing is difficult, it is just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tedious to back-track half…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall I like this game. I think its good. Not great, but good. Its a bit too hard. About halfway through the campaign, I dropped it down to the "Easy" difficulty. I barely noticed a difference and the game was still too hard. Maybe the Devs don't understand the concept of an easy difficulty. There is also a similar thing with there being an arcade mode where you are supposed to not have to manage the Air resource, but when I tried turning that on, I still had to manage Air. It makes me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda fun flash era game. Story is INSANELY bad though. I could of done better. You could have done better. The devs should have done better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BE-A Walker is an interesting shoot 'em-up game set in the far distant future where mankind has almost ruined Earth through pollution, overpopulation, and wars. To obtain necessary resources for Earth, humans are extracting them on a planet called Eldorado. Outposts, and colonies, have been established there and your job is to protect them from the hostile native tribes on the planet. Your Walker can be upgraded with different weapons, armor, extra oxygen (the air on the planet is not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game overall is good and costs money which you pay for it.I will recomend it gameplay wise BUT. Yeah it is a BUT that really annoys me, I really thought that the game will provide me some unique perspective on "Avatar problem" aka developed human civilization vs underdeveloped savages, I really wanted to see some gray morale, something like "We need to kill savages for the EMPERO...." khem, sorry, "We need to kill savages for the survival of human race" so you see that soldiers are doing…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, like first time playing half life revolutionary fun, a little bit of replayabilty, however it does lack a little in bit in diverse mechanics, if the developers updated this game to include workshop I feel it could sustain a healthy player base, overall a good grab!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun and somewhat complicated game where you pilot a mech, the route I went with was with the colonists, being a powerhouse and killing the population of the worlds inhabitants with death rays, machine guns, blasters, and whatever you can get your hands on a pretty neat game, It has several difficulty settings where you can set your game play style, arcade for a more casual experience and hardcore for a more unforgiving experience. its a pretty short game but its not bad. The ending isn't much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been having fun with game but God at times it feels like BS. The natives constantly getting on top of the walker or striking from behind gets old quick. I keep trying to wiggle them off and at times they come off a sec later, sometimes i have to just sit there to keep wiggling while taking arrows and lasers to get them off while the only way to deal with the one's behind is to try and step on them as there's no other way to deal with them. I am having fun when I don't have to keep wiggling ten…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to be brutally honest. This game was a lot of fun for a side scroller but had some definite issues. First, to many instances of taking damage from behind with no way to really defend yourself, needs some kind of plasma farter, mine pooper or something because otherwise was really really annoying. Second, and bigger than anything, were the endings. Two paths, two endings, both felt equally pointless, unfulfilling and poorly written. Really felt like they didn't know how to give…
