negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soar through the skies of World War II in Dogfight 1942, an arcade-style shooter where you'll pilot iconic warplanes across diverse battlefronts. Experience the intensity of Pearl Harbor, the dogfights of the Battle of Britain, and even daring raids over occupied France, all from the cockpit of iconic aircraft like the P-51 Mustang and the Messerschmitt Bf 109. Intuitive twin-analog controls (think RC planes!) put you in the pilot's seat, letting you focus on mastering aerial combat. Leave the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cool game the story is very shallow if you call it a story more like briefings but thats fine since the flying is super good the gameplay fun and satisfying so i can forgive the lack of story. Fun low tier plane shooter. Worth it on sale or not on sale as the price is already good in my opinion for what is there. If you like these types of arcade flying games then its worth checking out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game to play. In WIn 11: 1. Launch the setup to play in window mode and select Xbox gamepad 2. Download nomoreborder.exe : https://github.com/invcble/NoMoreBorder/releases/tag/v1.3.7 3. Launch the game 4. Use nomoreborder.exe and select dogfight.exe using the resolution you want. I am playing in full screen in 5120*1440, awsome!!! Next time you play the game it keeps the information. Purchase game + 2 DLCs. Playing in coop in fun, sad we cannot play in LAN (in coop this is split screen…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It doesn't start. Looks like a good game but it is a mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It does work. Just disable fullscreen. Played alot on PS3. Great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a super easy game that is easy to pick up and easy to get lost in. I love the survival part of the game. You pick a plane and then survive as many waves as you can. I would recommend getting the base game and all of the dlc's. They add a few more missions which are super fun. I would 100% recommend this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no joystick = no joy wish i'd bothered to recognise that critical deficiency before i wasted (thankfully not a lot of) money i like some brainless carnage as much as the next pilot, but not if i can't fly an aeroplane with the regular method of control - ww2 didn't have planes with game pads
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't just say how much I love this game. It is down right amazing this game is a fun arcade style World War 2 game. There are some historically inaccuracies but its still fun. my 1 con that I can think of this game is. You can't play as the Axis only the Allies. But still and amazing game I had a blast playing it. It's one of my personal favorite World War 2 Dog-fighting games. Highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not run on any windows 11 computer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It seems to work perfectly on steam deck now. But make sure to setup xbox 360 controls in the initial setup menue and arcade controls in the in-game menue. It's very hard to control in simulation mode as everything is TOO responsive. If you ever played this game on playstation, arcade controls will be very familiar to you. The acting is cheesy but the game is incredibly fun. It plays a lot like ace combat. They really nailed it with the machine gun controls in this game. It's a simple, no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the entire game in a little under 3 hours with remote sharing in use and we loved it. Wish it was a bit longer but stll an overall great dogfighting game and there arent many out there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent simple arcade flying shooter! Simple story, simple controls, cinematic action. The whole game with all DLCs gets completed in less than 5h. Grab on sale and have fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a beautiful game. And just my cup of tea since I don't prefer too complicated simulators. This one has just the right amount of fun/reality
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it has swares it has maen words obout the japinees
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable on Windows 11 in fullscreen, and launching in windowed the resolution is poor and extends across second monitor despite setting resolution in settings
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →102) Dogfight 1942 Here’s another game from the 360 backlog beaten. I ended up having a lot of fun with this. This one really gives off more of an arcade style for a dogfight game. And while the missions can get a tad repetitive the core combat is really fun #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, it does NOT run properly on any Windows 11 install. HOWEVER, for a game from 2012 that isn't a surprise. Dogfight 1942 is just as good a title today as it was when it first came out. It's not competing with games like Ace Combat or Warthunder, but it's an amazing title. If you enjoy WW2 planes and arcade style shooters, you'll really enjoy this game. The fact that it's one of the few Local Co-Op titles in the genre makes it an even better game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great arcade game, a fun easy end of the day dogfight with a WW2 context. Reminds me of the old C64 games which were super entertaining and addictive without be overly complicatied.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i got it when it was on sale its a good game used to play it on the ps3. also when u download the game their is a setting page u cant play the game on full screen it wont open so u have to change it besides that its a fun game

Propelled by strong combat and impressive presentation, it's the local co-op that steals the show #gaming #xbox360 #review 🔴 www.thepixelempire.net/dogfight-194...
unlabelledView post →Dogfight 1942 is a fantastic tribute to classic aerial combat games, delivering an exhilarating blend of nostalgia and excitement! The gameplay is fast-paced and engaging, allowing you to experience the thrill of dogfighting in iconic WWII aircraft. The controls are responsive, making it easy to pick up and start soaring through the skies. The graphics, while retro, have a charming quality that perfectly captures the era, and the maps are beautifully designed with plenty of detail. Each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I decided to rewrite the review after beating the game on Hard Mode (which was very annoying to beat because of the AI, high enemy damage, and the useless "protect me" command) The game is really fun and mechanically good. Flying the jets feels good too. The game, however, is very short. You can beat the whole campaign in few hours in Easy/Normal Mode (This is a good thing for Hard Mode lol) Despite it being arcade-y, there are options for Simulation Mode and Hardcore, that makes the game more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dogfight 1942 is not a simulation WWII game, it is absolutely an arcade game, but provides the entertainment you would want to experience from this type of game. The flying is intuitive, but not realistic, and even when you set it to simulation in the options, it is nothing close to what Flight Simulator would offer in a manner of physics and flight experience needed to maneuver. But since the game is about dogfights and air to ground combat, I am not opposed to what was developed here and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool game but its not for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun old arcade style dog fighting game buy it on sale for a fun few hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start off by saying that if you're here for historical accuracy or realism, look elsewhere. Dogfight 1942 is intended as a fast-paced, highly aggressive, pure arcade WWII flight action experience. It goes so far as to include a scoring system that rewards you for chaining multiple kills in rapid succession. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the variety in the missions on offer. You've got missions where you intercept enemy bombers, ones where you escort friendly bombers,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyable game. Immense value at sale price and I think it does the devs a disservice being sold at 0.99 on sale because the game is really fun and despite its age, looks and handles really well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth an afternoon of your time when it's on sale. Fun, arcade-style aerial combat. Have to play in windowed mode on Windows 11.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dogfight 1942, developed by City Interactive and published by CI Games, is an arcade-style aerial combat game that attempts to recreate the intensity and thrill of World War II dogfights while maintaining accessibility for casual players. Rather than aiming for the hyper-realistic depth of flight simulators, it seeks a balance between fast-paced action and simplified mechanics that let anyone pick up a controller and immediately take to the skies. The result is a game that captures the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the Game but annoying is, that they don´t have a Joystick Support for a DOGFIGHT Game! Even annoying is if you play with Xbox 360 contoller you cant do coustom configure. I used the App "JoytoKey" to configure the joystick, because I´ve read that here in Forum (thanks for that), and that works pretty well. So if you want to play this with a Flystick thats a little bit work, but after that you will have a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →masterpiece.........
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have nothing better to do, it isn't bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a cool little game if you know what you're buying, for this is not a flight simulator. If you're familiar with Star Wars: Rogue Squadron or Jedi Starfighter you know what you're in for! This is basically a WW2 version of those games. The flying feels nice, the cartoony graphics are nice enough to look at, the game doesn't outstay its welcome as it only took me 2 hours to beat. But as such, I'd only recommend this during a sale; I paid 1,5€ for this and I don't regret it. I also must…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game Outdated graphic but stil fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun arcade plane shooter. Easiest difficulty levels are for literally everyone, even lil kids, while harder difficulty give you some challange, especially if you want 5 star rating for a mission. You can feel WWII vibe. Highly recommending buying base game with all DLC's which are very fun too :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Arcade WWII flight game with mildly questionable physics and limited attention to detail, but fun enough to be worth picking up on sale if you're interested in the genre. If you ever played Blazing Angels, it's a similar vibe. ============ As several other reviews (read: most of the negative ones) have mentioned, Dogfight 1942 has no flight stick support. However, this is okay because it is an arcade-style dogfighting game, not a full-on simulator. On to the rest of the review...…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, fun arcade style combat flight game. 12 hours to complete.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it works with some tweaking, switch off fullscreen and it works, the controls are JANKY sometimes its a challenge to control the plane
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun, short game. Out of the three Combat Wings franchise games on Steam this one has the most variety in missions, although the plane handling can sometimes feel too loose. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful, and amazing arcade play. Excellent graphics and very good pace and wonderful game progress. Worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and quick game. In my opinion it's a must play if you enjoy arcade type games. Considering It came out in 2012 I'd say the graphics aren't that bad. Of course they are not otherworldy, but I think it brings more charm to the game. It took me just about 11 hours to get 100% achievements on it and I don't regret spending my time doing so. Get it on a sale tho. I think 10$ is a bit too much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your money on a dogfight game that would only work with keyboard and mouse....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game about the underground dog fighting scene in 1942. I haven't played it much because I love animals-mostly just the cute ones that do tricks. The rest can go screw. But shout out to the ones that taste good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i liked how realisitic the vechicles are
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very fun shooter. I had it on PS3 back in the day and had completely forgotten about it. Playing it now it's still very fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly good! I've finished it in one sitting and enjoyed every bit of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dogcrap, without joystick control and first person. Don't buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is Awesome. It can be played single player.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hot garbage. Valuable settings in menus that cannot be changed, like invert axis for example. Trash physics. I'd rather run around the room with my arms out yelling plane noises.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →YOU ARE JUST A PILOT! gg
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not badly thought out, but it needs patching. It is very short even with the additions. If only there were more countries to play. Missiles are very poorly designed against aircraft. Everyone has different bugs. For example, on hard difficulties, the plane cannot land. And the landing is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Preferably with a discount, it's quite short but fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun arcade WW2 fighter Plane game ... not bad
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It fells like a classic War Thunder which I miss a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty shocked that was this game was as good as it was I loved the missions provided and the DLC was actually pretty good as well a lot of content here overall it's a solid arcade flight shooter the Russian DLC being the standout as some of the best missions in the game 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're 9-10 years old....this may be fun for a couple of hours...because this is a arcade-arcade game...have seen and played way better arcade-fighter games.
