Diluvion: Resubmerged
Developer Arachnid Games
Diluvion is a 2017 action-adventure game with role-playing elements developed by American studio Arachnid Games and published by Gambitious Digital Entertainment, later known as Good Shepherd Entertainment. Set after a global flood has forced the remnants of humanity beneath a layer of impenetrable ice, the game places the player in command of a submarine exploring a large underwater world. Its gameplay combines… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite being one of my favorite games, I wish to ask all of you to stay away from it. Game was always a bit buggy but it was always minor and doable. But ever since the Resubmerged update most of the game has been broken. Worse, the game will never be fixed as it was abandoned shortly after. I've always held out some misguided hope that the devs would come back and put the game back together but I know it will never happen. It honestly pains me to say anything bad about this game as it was for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy this game. I don't care how good the sale is I guarantee you will regret it. In fact avoid this dev no matter how good whatever they're selling looks. The game had a great concept. Sub control was interesting and fun as you got used to it. Having to navigate without all the mapping tools most games today give you to just tell you where to go but with enough that you can find your way is awesome IMHO. But the game is completely broken. The dev knows it and their last message said…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandonware. developer even reached out to me personally when the "resubmerged" update released asking for me to submit bug reports then never replied to my request for a location to send the requested files. At the time he mentioned things like how this was not his primary job which just goes to show that he has probably abandoned game development in general.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really tried to like this game, I really did. However, it's beyond broken in its current state. I've tried to fix bugs on my own until the Abyssal Trench. After getting back to my last save, I've encountered these gamebreaking bugs: - Helm officer Jay was missing along with some of the crew. This caused the ship to become unable to move - I've done several depth upgrades that can take me to 1500 meters. Despite that my ship gets destroyed at 1100 meters, which happens immediately when I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy, even on sale There are a few game-breaking bugs that make it impossible to complete the main story, and the dev hasnt been seen for a few years, so consider it abandoned, never to be fixed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give Diluvion a 6/10. It kind of breaks my heart to write this review because as much as I enjoyed various aspects of it, I just can not recommend it to the average player. I think a lot of love was put into it but I think it required way too much patience. It pulled me in enough that I persevered. Diluvion gave me a sense of wonder that I haven't felt since I first played Subnautica, which I think says a lot. There's something about quietly poking around the depths of the unknown that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game ONLY if you remove the DLC through the Unsumberged guide found in the guides section here. In it's original state, the game is QUITE fun and enjoyable. But with the Resubmerged update, the game is nigh unplayable. I've had a save completely remove ALL my inventory and money (this making getting any collecting achievements impossible), and quests will just break and not finish, forcing you to restart. if you're a stickler for achievement hunting, DO NOT get this game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I avoided reviewing this for a couple of years because for some reason I just kept expecting it to be updated and expanded, but it's clear that after all this time it's just going to remain in what feels like an unfinished state. There's a lot to like and it has some interesting bits, the sound design especially is impressive. However, there's not really much to do, and what you can do is rather slow and tedious. On the surface this reminds me of three other games, all of which I like:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware, don't buy has game breaking bugs, by the look of it so far they will never be fixed, such a pity up in till you experience such bugs its a good game :-/.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first, it's a fantastic, fun and unique game. Reminds me of the old days on PS1. The music and menu sounds are also wonderful. Very much like old Sqaresoft RPGs. Even after 20+ hours of gameplay it's still fun to play and explore, but... After the Resubmerged release, the dev stopped development and left the game with several glaring bugs. Bugs that break the game and stop your from completing the story. For that reason alone I can not recommend you get this game unless it's heavily…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel kind of sad leaving this game a negative review because i was loving it for the first 5 or so hours and then i ran in to a game breaking bug. There's an area of the game where there's a base inside a huge hole drilled in to the bottom of a giant iceberg and it's a hub where you can trade and pick up and complete quests. I accepted a quest there, completed it and when i returned for my reward the drill site was no longer there. Not because of any gameplay or story reason but because the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I want to like this game, there are a number of game-breaking bugs (including locking yourself out of the main quest) that were never addressed and likely will never be addressed. Save yourself the headache and play something that's finished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game only on a big sale. This game is not finished. Theres loads of issues alround. Economy of the game is broken, Combat is ok at best. Story, dialogue and characters are ok. Performance issues, softlocks, crashes are present, they didnt break the experience for me, but they were quite annoying. HOWEVER. Visuals and atmosphere is top notch, and the game is nice to play through just for those.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recommended. Everything looks promising until you start questing. Quests are bugy - no real introduction to factions or enemies? You just get randomly attacked. You cant put markes on your map :( The shop you need to upgrade is not on the map so you search it everytime - Primetime event: I lost my sonar guy to an injury - had to bring him to a city so he gets treated there - while i was docked to the city I got attacked and a dialogue prompt told me I can not leave the city because my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy this game, it's a buggy mess. It may seem like a cool concept, but it utterly fails in execution. Many quests and achievements are incompletable. There are bugs that the developers said they fixed, but are still very much present. There's not any objective markers for some quests, including the main story. If you get stuck, tough luck. There aren't any up to date maps or guides for the Resubmerged version. You'll find yourself scouring google for Let's Plays of people with better…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much promise and there is so much room to create a beautiful and fun world for this game. It has a lot of potential and a good story line, however, there are way too many underdeveloped systems and general gameplay functions. The biggest issues with this game: The massive amount of glitches that springs up out of nowhere, several of them, being unfixable unless you can revert to a previous save. This beauty got a major overhaul and a updated tittle Diluvion: Resubmerged, but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, this flat-out deserves better than "Mixed". It's distinctive, creative and memorable; I can't think of much else out there like it. It's not for everyone; it's not for me--I think it's probably going to give me nightmares from the surreal ways it uses its tight, claustrophobic sense of space within the game. But that's not a "bad game" criticism; that's a "not for me" comment. It's a great game, by whatever standard that phrase is held up to. It's just not for everyone, as is always…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Diluvion is a fine example for world building, exploration, fear of the unknown and quirky little indie games. It features quite a lot of content and high replayability value to do the ability to have different starter ships and to pick from more than a dozen ship chassis throughout the entire game. The gameplay is mostly quite slow paced and I personally could have done without any combat at all, but even that is fleshed out quite well. There's also very minor remembrances of Faster Than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this game, because of its many bugs. If by any chance you absolutely love the ocean and think that there are not enough underwater games on steam than I would recommend the prior version of the game that you can play by changing the steam setting of the game to the beta build of the game, because it has almost no bugs. I won't lie i had some fun exploring the deep in the old version of the game. If you plan on playing the Resubmerged (updated) version of the game, be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game deletes your money and items quite often. I bought this game years ago and now is to late for a refund...but it's not to late for you. Avoid this game. A shame, because it could've been a nice game if it worked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a complete and utter disappointment. Controls are simply horrible and not organic. Game doesn't recognise PS4 gamepad. Camera position is awkward, cannot be adjusted and your view is often blocked by anything in close proximity. UI is a mess. Sonar ping marks POI only for a short period of time (like a couple of seconds), and actually is more of an annoyance than real help. 2D "loot" levels are somehow more boring than watching paint dry (and the same melody, which is used for all these…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No Man's Bioshock: Faster Than Light Edition.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only get if heavily discounted. Diluvion feels like a work of love, from the art style to the environment and shortcomings in some areas. Frame rate and combat camera issues are no joke. But the visuals (when not stuttering) and world pulled me in faster than my docking anchors. It's enjoyable for the $3 humble price I paid, don't go in expecting a AAA title experience. It's a pity the devs stopped support as it feels like a game that was so close to getting it all right in an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The level design was based off the progreession of how deep you could go with each tier sub. so that interesting spot just past crush depth you could come back to later is gone leaving empty spots ware content used to be in the original. The point of the compass and gold fish is gone due to the location arrow on the map. you no longer have to worry about how much air you have. So exploring isnt fun any more nor the focus of the game any more. The game now focuses on searching for loot after…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually good. It has nice gameplay and story. The only problem with it is that it had a fanbase of little b****es: "It crashed once: literally unplayable on my potato", "Good game but I prefer Lovecraft over Hitchcock so don't buy it", "this game is not truly open world mmorpg for 10$" et c. Disgusting deg^Vw... people. But the game is good. I've played it when it was in early development and then some more. And I was satisfied. Game is worth its money. I wrote a review just now…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's entertained me since the start. we really need some more underwater/submarine games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR : The game used to be pretty good and fun to play, albeit feeling like it could have been much more. Now, it is slightly more, but with a staggering amount of bugs, botched quests, and annoying quirks. If you don't own it yet, don't buy it. If you played the previous version, don't bother playing again, fond memories are better than this steaming pile of hot dung. So, now for the details. I originally played the game shortly after its release, and I was at the begining of the Endless…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware + Many obvious and fatal bugs + Poor optimization + Rather use resource moving to Switch than fixes Beautiful art will likely fool users. First hour of play, the developer had pour all effort to look flawless. But very soon player will enter an unpolished mess with bugs, left unfixed for years. "Game is still playable" is a sad standard, pure insult to other games that put in effort in design and polishing gameplay. Suffered 30 hours (I bought the game immediately when it came…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well. I waited for like a year to see it improved. And while it has somewhat, I still cannot recommend it. This is a very very slow game, which does not really reward you in the end. Travelling takes ages, ui is clunky. Combat is what kills it for me, just not any fun in the end. Finally had enough when I hit the crab ship, blew all the turrets, so it basicly could not do anything to me, then.... nothing....Hurled all my ammo at it.... nothing. Any clue to what I should do ingame?.. nothing...…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came back to this game with full intent of completing finally, seeing that they had a patch last year gave me some high hopes. I started a new game and things were going well aside from there still being a ton of bugs I was still having fun up until I made it to the second area. I was ok with slogging through the bugs but I literally cant progress any further now. Two of your crew members just leave the sub one of which (the gunner) for no aparent reason. I managed to at least find the gunner…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the screenshots I did not understand why this game was MIXED. But now I get it. The idea of having a submarine, exploring, getting crew members and ship upgrades sounds GREAT. Unfortunately you are not in the wide open sea, but instead a weird cave system so it feels very claustrophobic. Also finding resources is essentially latching your ship onto other buildings and playing a point-and-click adventure game to find what boxes on a 2d drawn picture actually open so you can reveal…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really, really wanted to recommend this game, but ultimately it's in too buggy and unfinished a stage to do so. It's a great idea, but 1/3 of the game's quests have bugs and you frustratingly spend time searching forums with the only answer being to reload from an earlier save and cross your fingers. It looks like they've abandoned this game, so it is not going to get any better. It's a shame, because this could have been a great game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is just to let people know the game is currently abandoned by the devs in a fairly broken state. You could un-update the game to the last working build which is pretty easy to do but I wouldn't say its worth $20 this way. Maybe $5.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just can't play this game anymore. The view control works against you during combat, constantly flipping around as you try to target an enemy sub. trying to steer your sub and aim to fire at the same time is a headache. Trying to scroll through your inventory sends you flying to the top or bottom with a mere click. The save files don't work half the time or it will load you where you were when you saved but with the equipment and progress from the auto save. More personal gripes: The fog of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It pains me to mark this as not recommended, but we have to be honest and look at the current state no matter our hopes or the hard effort / good intentions of some of the devs as it may be. The game is in sort of an unfinished state..... The initial release was ok while lacking a lot of depth and content.... then the overhaul came (which was much anticipated i might add) for a bunch of much needed stuff... thing is.... it was unfinished and quite broken.... so, to sum up, the current state of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I doodled a submarine that was inspired by the designs of submarines in the game Diluvion #TMDart
unlabelledView post →Diluvion: Resubmerged is an older game from 2017. It's a venerable 8 years old at the time of this review. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. The concept is okay... you're on a Jules Verne-esque submarine and you need to play a little FTL like crew management and steer your submarine around (awkwardly, more on that later), do some fights, upgrade,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still buggy as hell, the game openly stops working half the time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this years ago, it was crap and riddled with bugs. After many updates, it seems to be a great game now. I'm having a lot of fun in my submarine! Well done devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool idea, gameplay and visuals are great, but a large number of us are encountering game-stopping bugs. The dev has moved on to other projects, so sadly, stay away from this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You're probably thinking something like, "It's 2019, most of the negative reviews are from 2017, and I've seen articles saying that a huge update, Resubmerged, was released in 2018 that fixes everything." Well, we both know what happens next, don't we? I've never played the the pre-Resubmerged version, so all I can talk about is this version, and this version is _buggy_. I won't get into the numerous bugs I encountered while beating this game -- and yes, I beat it, despite the several…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much potential and was enjoying it. But is has bugs that need to be addressed and they were being addressed. BUTT!!!!!!! It appears to me that the game has abandoned by the dev and he has moved on to other things and this game is no longer being addressed/maintained. So save your money until such a time as we see some up dates. Good game and potential, poor devs and support.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd love to give this a thumbs up, but nothing has been done with this game to fix the issues or add anymore content. It's a fun game for a few hours, but very very slow and buggy to all H***......
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →some parts are so broken they just stop working and you cant progress. great dev support
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I killed the spider yamato battleship, then it disapeared. i cannot get the passport. the game is broken. fix it please.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's buggy, to be sure, but there's a huge amount of charm and character to the game, and I really enjoyed my time with it. It feels a lot like a PS2 game, but I can't really explain how. I just know, you know? By the way, if you get stuck, try talking to all of your officers. They might have dialogue you need.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incomplete and unsatisfying. Also seems to have more anime influence on the art than it used to. I absolutely hate anime in all of its forms.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh. Oh no. I paid money for this at one point? I'm glad that I picked it up on sale, but it's going for $20? No.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm honestly a bit surprised about all the negative reviews here. I played through the whole game on my end, no issues & loved it. Just wish there was more of it really. Overall if you want to take part in a creative adventure i'd recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- ok graphics, story, crew management - repetitive mini-"games" (search-click-to-find) - nearly unplayable with keyboard and mouse - action sequences, which are more like a space shooter(!), totally break the immersion and Jules Verne-feeling NOT recommended, even when I really tried to like it AND bougth on heavy discount!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun little exploration game. pick it up on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks nice, but any submarine combat is a nightmare. My game also bugged the first boss so it couldn't actually be killed, and I'm not fussed for looking into a solution. It's just rather sub-par. Abzu did underwater exploration better, and almost anything else did combat and looting better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Diluvion is a fun game, quite a lot of quests and NPCs to talk to and stuff to do. It has good graphics and I like the underwater aspect of it as not many games out there (that i know of) are set in underwater world. Some of the issues I have with this game though are bugs and somewhat poor design, the Sul's rear upper turret will always fire in the opposite direction making it useless, when moving the camera close to a wall the sub will change colour. Once a side quest trigger failed to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly I have to give this one a thumbs down on a technicality. I was enjoying it so much: the looting, the piloting, the exploring, the environment, the music, the story ... But after purchasing the upgrade I need to enter the final zone, I decide I want to splurge on a much bigger sub, only to discover that the upgrade can only be purchased once. So I'm forced to either try to complete the game on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ starter sub, or revert to a save file and lose several days of progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like more than one game duct taped together. The ship user interface doesn't give the same feel as the ship piloting and combat. neither does the boarding interface and boarding combat. It also seems that some features were removed but left dormant, such as ship oxygen. It's a very incomplete and rough experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 1: - Start game - Choose sub - ♥♥♥♥ around the ocean doing the boring get-used-to-these-♥♥♥♥-controls missions. It's a big place and travel feels lke a slog, but at least the view's pretty and the music's nice. Golden schools of fish that exist to point you toward your marker without breaking immersion are a nice touch. - ♥♥♥♥ around some wrecks, scavenging for loot. There's nothing else to do. That's fine, I guess? I mean, it's "submarine survival". - Inexplicable game crash. Save file…
