unlabelledView post →Towers don't have any priority settings for picking their targets, theres no UI indicator when speed up is turned on, if you defeat a wave early you have to wait for the timer to count down to send the next wave, the audio settings dont change anything until you close the UI, the dialogue isnt skippable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the greatest tower defense game imo. could play this for hours and have endless fun. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best tower defense games ever made combined with a good story and some great humor at times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sequel to the quintessential tower defense game uses the same formula with new scoring and defense augmentation. I never cared for tower defense games until I played Defense Grid (I tried it after seeing how much fun a tower defense/third-person shooter hybrid was in Dungeon Defenders and Orcs Must Die!). Defense Grid was so great: fun towers, interesting maps, great voice acting, balanced gameplay (not too easy, not too difficult—just the right balance of trying to avoid that one…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's exactly what it's advertising and if you like tower defense games, you're gonna like this. I don't know what else to say.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's never too late for a new DLC for a good game. ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The formula is there, still a decent tower defense game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DG2: Defense Grid 2 is an awesome tower defense game! I love the first one and this one just improves upon it! Highly recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Defense Grid 2 is just as fun and addictive to play as the first. Had my first taste of the series on the Xbox years ago and loved it. Now i am getting into PC gaming a bit more, i had to experience the game again. I think this was my first tower defense series i had played too. Lots of replayability. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first started playing this game, I was very unhappy with it. I even considered giving it a Not Recommended review. It's got some significant changes from Defense Grid 1, which I got a gold score on every mode of every level of every DLC (so you could say I'm a fan). I eventually came to appreciate Defense Grid 2, and I think I'm likely to beat every aspect of it as well. That being said, I do think it's a significant step down in most aspects. The biggest thing is that they got…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun. It's a challenge alright. Gotta have a good build pattern to beat each type of wave otherwise some will slip through.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome. I played the heck out of DG1 on my Xbox 360 and now play it thru emulation with Xenia. I never knew they came out with DG2. I am so glad I found this. The DG series is the BEST in tower defense games, that I've ever played. But the BIG reason I got DG2, was because of the workshop and community maps. This alone makes this a no brainer for a purchase. Anything that is allowed to have user made content, is a purchase in my book. This feature helps to keep the game alive,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LOVE THIS GAME Got to be up there with the best tower defense games ive played going sink hours and hours into it. Great variation with towers and pathing the enemy can choose upgrades on towers and co-op as well. Great buy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DON'T BUY THIS ♥♥♥♥ , IT IS BROKEN AND STEAM WILL SAY YOU PLAYED AND KEEP YOUR MONEY So I just got told I could not refund the DLC just relased for this game. It says I have played 7 hours. WHere did I PLAY 7 HOURS? i HAVE THIS ♥♥♥♥ ON STREAM NOT WORKING. Showing I can not play it. I DO NOT CARE IF ITS 1 CENT TO $1000. I would like not to be scammed of my money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The maps and game mechanics are very similar but overall slightly inferior to the original Defense Grid (Tesla towers in particular have been dumbed down and lost a lot of tactical relevance). The UI is slightly better, but still peppered with little annoyances and inefficiencies caused by the game's "gamepad-centric" roots. How hard can it be to have a normal mouse cursor? Overall, I'd say the original is still better, but if you've already played through that one (plus the Portal-themed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved Defense Grid 1, and Defense Grid 2 turned out to be more of the same and a little better. Good maps, challenges and gameplay. I only played co-op mode as much as necessary for the achievements. It wasn't bad, but for me it didn't make me want to spend additional time playing maps in that mode. Achievement requirements were attainable. I was initially turned off by the store page promotional images and video because they were all low perspective and didn't include high level views, It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wait what.... Still getting DLC 12 years after the game released.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On multiple times I completed the mission and it didn't register. It doesn't have any charm of the original and the voice acting is so annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good TD alternative, if you get bored of Bloons. has a somewhat robust story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's odd how few changes to a winning formula can kinda rile the base. While DG2 looks to be a more animated, easily readable and heavily voiced version of the original, it's plagued by its UI and progression. Things don't feel as snappy or well put together, the branching options leave the optimal challenge level a little vague and the item progression system effectively equates time spent in game to power. If you are a skilled DG1 player looking to run the Story Challenge equivalent,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best tower defense games out. Various game play provides challenge and depth. Play with a friend for a great coop mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game, just like the first one. really dorky just like portal, but it is a tower defense
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the greatest tower defense games of all time. It's also a fantastic steamdeck experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS IS THE BEST TOWER DEFENSE GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! 4 out a 5 1 the music is good 2 the story is good 3 THE TOWER CUSTOMIZATION IS OVER 9000!!! 4 the maps i freakin love! 5 i love the ART in this game and so enjoy the tesla towers the most! ZAP!!! 6 love the unlocking parts for your towers just wish i could direct all unlocks into 1 tower at a time! 7 The sad thing is a spent over an hour once looking for ANY co op game on any search... thats not good. 8 The story is a bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked the game mechanics in the first one better, but DG2 isn't bad if you liked that one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best tower defense game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →44 hours for 89p, bargain! I also suspect I'll play many more in the years to come, such a fun game with loads of modes to test yourself in.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best Tower Defense game that exists.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing strategy game, I play it when I need to pass some time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautifully animated tower defence game. Totally addictive in a good way>
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent sequel that takes everything that worked in the first Defense Grid and improve it without losing what made the original so good. The tower defense gameplay is still fantastic, the new mechanics fit perfectly, and the additional game modes add a lot of variety. 100% steam achievements Time : 57.7H Completion Difficulty : 7/10 Playthroughs : Many - Extensive replay requires Missables : None DLC Rquired : Yes Online Requirements : Yes - co-op achievements Guide Recommended :…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll start off by saying that Defense Grid 2 seems to be missing something that made DG1 special. I enjoy DG1 much more than DG2. That being said, DG2 is still the 2nd best tower defense game I've played. If you enjoy TD games, you owe it to yourself to play both games in this series. If you've never played a TD game before. Start with DG1, it's the gold standard, though be warned, my opinion is that there isn't anything as good out there, so you'll be on a downward slope in the genre after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After completing the brilliant Defense Grid: The Awakening (DG:TA), I immediately installed Defense Grid 2 (DG2), eager to see how it stacks up against its legendary predecessor. Right off the bat, DG2 hooks you with a better, more fleshed-out story that directly continues the narrative from DG:TA. One of the first things you'll notice in the core gameplay is the welcome addition of difficulty levels. Casuals can cruise through on the easiest setting, but if you're a hardcore gamer or a TD…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great TD game, very replayable, great DLC
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like the first one you are gonna like this too since its upgraded everything the first game offer and adds a lot new content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool tower defence but gets boring real quick after you've completed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is still Defense Grid, only there is more of it. I really could not ask for more as it is at the top of its genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this a while ago. I now want to play it again from scratch. But, there is no way to create a new character. It is stranger for something so basic to be missing. You will find online guides for deleting all your settings and hacks to avoid synching from the cloud. But, why should this be missing in the first place?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've loved this game for years. Was super excited when the DLC was announced. Keep adding DLC, and I'll keep buying it!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a little more than an average tower defense game. There are a lot of kinds of towers to choose from. There are a lot of different maps. The game is challenging, but not so hard that you might get discouraged. I typically don't like tower defense. But I liked this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun tower defence game, highly recommend to any one that is a fan of the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic tower defense stuff but has enough charm in it's voice acting and good enough level design to make me feel it stands out as one of the really good tower defense games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The GOAT of Tower Defense. Excellent production values, voice acting, a good story, excellent unit balance and challenging maps. Just replayed it now with the release of the Aftermatch DLC and I can't believe I didn't review this back in the day. Anyway, absolutely worth your time and money. Roll on DG3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer co-op seems broken; in doubles mode only one player gets resources. In coordinated defence mode only one player can build. Playing on PCs with mouse and keyboard. Oh well...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this as a gift from a friend and love it. Played it on Xbox and again on PC just as good gonna play the DLC soon 10/10 recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it on the XBOX before, nice to see a new DLC after all those years. Had to have it for PC and ... Immediately hooked again :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After all these years, still the best Tower Defense game there is. The new "expansion" is a bit of a dissapointment. 5 new maps to continue the story. Okay, the price is only 5 Euro, but you can get hundreds of really great maps for free if you look online. I made a dozen of em myself. I had hoped for new aliens, maybe new towers or mechanics. But I am sure that at the moment they rather put all their effort in Defense Grid 3, right? RIGHT???
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Defense Grid 2 is my favorite tower defense game. It's got a campaign with a voice-acted story, unlockable tower modifications, mazing, a wide range of tower types and enemies, and tools to build your own maps. It's a high-quality effort in a genre that doesn't receive very much attention. The game just received a new DLC 12 years after the main game's release that adds 5 levels and adds to the story. If you are a fan of tower defense games and you haven't played DG2, buy it now and thank…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of the games I have played, this is the best tower defense game available. The surprise DLC released years after its initial release brought me back. I happily played through the whole game again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best tower defence game ever made. Probably. It's very good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Though I already reviewed apparently no I did not. Anyway this alongside Sanctum, Riftbreaker, X-Morph, Outpost Infinity Siege are among the GOATs of Tower Defense. With DG 1 and 2 being the best bog standard TD of all time. It never lacked anywhere and is what should be the set standard for TD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE TD game, classic for a reason. It was a pleasant surprise to see a DLC out. 100% recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favourite tower defence games. I come back to play it every so often after having beaten it a few times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great TD Some improvements over the orginal Defense Grid but lacking in the amount and variaty of levels. More like a standalone expansion than a full blooded sequal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i always play this game when i eat :P this is the best tower defense i ever played to be honest
