But the thing that kills it is the sound. You may not realize how sound can impact a game so much but here it's the lack of engine sounds, getting/using powerups, skidding across corners, etc and even the music are all considerably lacking. It just makes it feel extremely hollow. Unfortunately it also makes it much, much less fun to play.

The easiest workaround that I know of is to basically start the game,hit airplane mode/disconnect your wifi at the intro start,then you can reconnect it at the main menu,developer hasn't fixed it and it's been an issue known to them since at least last year. Car handling is not particularly fun either and the reset zones on tracks don't make sense. I expected a bit more "quick action fun" out of this and some better music. Also the VR start by default is really annoying to deal with. It's not as good as something like Mario Kart, but it's still an amazing game and is worth it's current price tag. On a scale of one to ten, I have to give this an 8/10. My only problems are that there isn't enough of a playerbase to do online matches with, some of the animations look a bit off, and they're a bit expressionless, but other than that, it's pretty good.
