[[[[[FOURTH EDIT WHAT THE HELL]]]]] Just look at the review from MIdle-Empire.comgamehag.company. Yes, that is their name. They reviewed this game, have like 70 hours, and barely any achievements. That's just THIS game. Moreover, why the hell do SO many of this bot account's Recently Played games have PRECISELY 255.3 hours played? Because this isn't a real person. Feel free to really look at the accounts that have reviewed this game. Yeah... gross, right? [[[[[END OF FOURTH EDIT JESUS…

I was really close to refunding this game because of how it starts. For the love of god, change the default character, rework him, or allow sword guy from the beginning. Boomerang guy is the most clunky, unresponsive, unfun character. I felt like a helpless moron playing with a near-dead controller, then I unlocked the sword guy finally *DEEP SIGH OF RELIEF* and beat the game with my first attempt (explained later) with him after spending an hour training with the character equivalent of…

I really liked the design and the music of the game. Even though I'm not that good at such games it sucks you in and you want to always play one more run, one more attempt. Looking forward to more cool worlds. I think UI need a little bit of work, got confused in some places.

I enjoyed the Deflection mechanic, but given the 20$ price tag this feels shallow. Summary This game focuses on fast paced action and pretty much nothing else. Gameplay: avoid yellow balls, deflect or avoid red ones, do damage. It's fun for a while, but gets stale after a couple of hours. There's no incentive to do better, no reason (or tools) play differently, and generally nothing beyond bullet hell action. In run upgrades offer no complexity, don't energize with anything and often don't…

It looks pretty, and has some good ideas mixed in, but it plays awkwardly and makes the grind uninviting. Graphics are stellar, no question there. Lots of effort went into making the world feel vibrant and unique. It also tries something different with the Boomerang and Deflection mechanics, which are executed well. Unfortunately, these don't make up for the shortcomings for me, personally. The tutorial feels hackneyed in, and rather than trusting that the initial flood of customers who are…

Updates have taken away the more interesting elements of the session progression, main one being the mutation board with bits and bobs you could use to connect traits together. Now, it's essentially neutered Hades with less of everything and a decent rock OST. Can't recommend for the price nor content. Purchased in Early Access and was okay with what I had. Now, it's just less enjoyable overall.

Deflector is sci-fi Hades, based on bullet hell, parry, and dodging mechanics. Its super cool game. I really enjoyed every try in this game. One thing that made me unsatisfied was no procedure generation, I don’t mention it as minus, because I understand that will be fixed, but oh boy I feel bad when I see the same location in 5 time in a row. The place, hub or something like that, where you travel across levels is something like chaos wastes from Vermitide 2. The hub allows you to choose…

It's a decent game and I would say it's fun for about 3 hours or so. Fast paced simple combat, pleasant aesthetics and the music is actually pretty good. But in all honesty, I do think it lacks the addicting hook when it comes to replayability many other Roguelites have. Sure, there's mutations and additional characters to unlock, but I got so bored of my mind of it after 8'ish hours, I just felt like deleting it. You could argue I got the value out of it, if it wasn't for the fact that the…

The game is pretty fun for the first 2 hours. Fluid movement and fun combat. But after you've beaten it once, you've more or less seen everything contentwise. There are more characters and mutations to unlock but it's lacking the addicting feeling that makes me want to replay. Metaprogression doesn't feel like its worth grinding and bosses are the same at the end of each stage.

7/10 - Get it on a sale - Great music - Awful boss design - Swamp is by far the worst - Would be better if the entire area wasn't in the game-- Enemies have more health the more areas you clear, so obviously you clear the areas that you don't want to play first. Why is swamp the worst? Tentacle final boss. You run around killing tentacles until the boss health bar depletes. The tentacles teleport. The screen is filled with projectiles, and the non poison ground randomly disappears. Also, the…

Update 3 After the official release of Deflector, the reviews have suddenly been flooded with AI written reviews, orchestrated by the publisher SuperGG. The development studio, Arrowfist Games, is actively condoning such behaviour and defending such practices. This was initially brought to light by MegaDave in the forums and has since been mentioned in the now top review by backstagecoffe. Whether or not the game is actually good (It's not) is irrelevant now, as both publisher and studio have…

overall pretty fun. though upgrades don't currently offer a ton of build variety, my playthroughs have always ended up fairly well rounded and similar with the only difference being what debuffs they apply and some mild effects with deflecting attacks. but the game shows a lot of promise and i imagine they'll make upgrades more diverse and help playthroughs feel more unique in future updates.

Deflector is a captivating game that kept me hooked for hours. The combination of combat, and bullet dodging and deflecting mechanics turned out really exciting in practice. The art style is simple yet stylish, and the soundtrack is immersive. The controls are easy to pick up, so it should be accessible to all players. Genuinely loved it! If you want to pick it up, here are the ups and downs: + character unlocks and variation design - cute little sidequests and challenges for both character and permanent progression + aesthetics - game has character in both visual and sound design + controls - crisp, clean and responsive - game balance - it's really hard, and (for my taste) too reliant on RNG - lack of clear visuals on some bosses (it's 100% certain that you will die to bosses at leas a couple of times - some…

While Deflector has some very innovative ideas, I felt it does not provide longevity as well as other roguelike titles I have played. While I did enjoy the game, I think it's missing an element that compels the player to continue playing after beating the game. Despite being a style of game mostly associated with indie developers, the roguelite genre has seen quite a bit of saturation in the past few years. As a result, it can be rare to see a roguelite game with an entirely unique concept, but I'm extremely pleased to say Deflector is one such game. The core conceit is, as you might imagine, deflection. The game draws inspiration from the bullet hell genre, as enemies launch intricate, nonstop patterns of projectiles at you, but, in Deflector, you…

perhaps i set my expectations wrong for this game, if your looking for a fun fast paced bullet hell then you'll like it. but i was expecting a much deeper skill/progression system, these systems just feel tacked on. the dna/node system doesn't really provide any depth, there's no benefit to linking certain skills together or planning out your tree, you just chain underwhelming skills into the tree until you reach an underwhelming passive node.

Sadly, had to flip this review down, as the devs have just incompetently muddled along with very long waits for early access updates, critical bugs unfixed, key unique game mechanics gutted into boring shlock, and just a massive lack of any kind of getting better. It's not even as fun as it used to be, and that already needed significant work. Work that didn't come over a year of early access, and that looks increasingly like the devs just never had in them. If only their game dev effort…

Deflector takes the bullet-heaven formula and adds a satisfying twist with its deflection mechanic. Bouncing projectiles back at enemies feels great and gives combat a more active, skill-based edge than most games in the genre. Runs are fast, upgrades are interesting, and mastering enemy patterns is genuinely rewarding. A solid roguelite for anyone who likes action-packed gameplay with a bit more involvement.

Probably not gonna be an all time favorite like RoR, RoR2, TBoI, EtG, etc, but so far I've been having a great time. unlocking new characters is a chore and insane, and it gets VERY OLD seeing demos of this game, featuring different characters. Soooo do i have to play each demo to try the characters? What is this? The game is fun, very hard. But unlocking content is ridiculous... And the whole "quest" about having to download another game. yeah, ♥♥♥♥ that. I like it a lot! Here's what you want to know: It's very challenging. It is fast paced, makes heavy use of a parrying (deflecting) mechanic, and it's easy to blow a run. But, it's very satisfying. Deflection works well, but naturally a miss is frustrating (git gud I suppose). The bosses are creative and very challenging. I don't usually like Bullet Hell type games, but this one has my interest. The roguelite system is cool and interesting- the various 'genetic mutations' you piece together…

Bouncing the glaive into enemies while deflecting bullets and dodging between foes, coupled with the upgrades which always feel impactful - leading to a meaningful decision on what to work towards - results in a very challenging and fun experience.
