You have these genre features: • Multiple acts each with a branching map of nodes ending in an end of act boss • Nodes for regular combat, elite combat, events, healing and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slay the Spire meets Darksouls, and now my favorite of the genre even beating out STS and Monster Train. A wonderful dark and gritty game with an interesting story. I also quite enjoy the aesthetic, art, and the vibe in general. To many games in the genre end up as a cheap STS knock off or go out of their way to innovate and introduce unfun mechanics and quickly forget the formula of what made STS so great. Deepest Chamber keeps the perfect STS formula to a T, while still managing to feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty mediocre card battler. I mean, the art is decent and has a nice spooky dungeon atmosphere, but the gameplay is like... whatever. Buy this game on sale only. 06/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a world of lots of good, quality deckbuilders this one has a bit of charm and interesting mechanics but doesn't really have much to keep you coming back. It's not bad, but there are definitely much better options and you should explore those first. The main downside is combat is a slog through dozens of cards to do piddling amounts of damage to monsters with seemingly mountainous hitpoints. The other big downside is the interface is pretty poorly implemented with lots of buggy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a fun game for a while, but quite soon the realization came that there's very little content. There's very few cards and classes work in very similar ways. The game does have good ideas though and I hope they keep working on it and add a lot more content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: I'm changing my review from a thumbs down to a thumbs up with some caveats. I think this is worth a buy, but there are good and bad parts. It took about 10 hours for me before it clicked. It's a bit rough for my taste, and I think the interface and tutorial could be much better. Good + There are multiple classes and each class feels fleshed out with a distinct identity. I didn't feel any class was underdeveloped. + Plenty of ways to build, can beat bosses using a variety of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's worth buying even at full price (13 euros) since it's not a big price tag and there is plenty of content in the game.

It has different mechanics that require you to reprogram your brain in the Slay-the-Spire trained area. The cards you play from your hand boost the other cards on either side of it, and each card (can) have multiple boost levels. It's a bit confusing at first, which is why the game takes a couple hours to get you hooked. But once you get used to this boosting system, it becomes very enjoyable, with a special…

unlabelledView post →Deepest Chamber: Resurrection is a roguelite deckbuilder where a party of adventurers must descend through a dungeon, killing various monsters. The dungeon uses a node layout similar to other deckbuilders, including normal and elite fights, random events, shops, chests, shrines, and campfires, where you can acquire new cards and relics, upgrade cards, and heal the party, eventually leading to a boss fight. There are 4 acts, and each act has 2 different bosses which provides some variety to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's far more than a spire clone. I have played StS a lot. I've 100%'d the game which entails beating the Heart with all characters on A20. And for all it's brilliance, it can be a fairly straight forward game sometimes. This game has so many more of the synergy type systems that make StS fun. Think of all the mental runs you have in StS and how they are wild because you are finding a way to break the game for yourself. This game is like that all the time to me. And it also has many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's mid and there are way better games out there. The crux of the cardplay rapidly devolves into one single gimmick: managing your infinite 0 cost combos against the endgame bosses invincibility phases, which completely counter your hands, whereas normals and elites just fall in turn 1. In other games in the genre, the "Infinity hand" runs are VERY few and far between, and when you nail them, they are stupidly powerful, game breaking even. Here, it's with every run and class setup. After…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so happy when i found this, looked really promising, however, right now Deepest Chamber is too generic. This includes cards, upgrades that are abundant but not impactful, events are all the same, the interesting lore is explored only at the intro, bosses are bulletsponges with curse card, equipments are all small variations, and so forth. It's fair for it's price, but right now it lacks a strong identity. Really hope to see it thrive in the near future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 Game with huge potential. Anyone who doesn't usually play rogue-like deck-building games will quickly recognize all the game's flaws, mostly mechanics that prevents the game from being one of the best in the genre, while hardcore fans of the genre will likely try to convince themselves otherwise, that the game is still worth the attention. I'm probably somewhere in the middle. With the growing number of rogue-like deck-building games, it has become hard to expect the market to offer…

unlabelledView post →I would say this game is worth the price content wise, and they're still updating the game actively. I would say that this is probably one of the easier deckbuilding games I've played, but that's partially because some combinations of classes have an "infinite", where if you set it up correctly you continuously get a card that's zero cost that spawns another card that's zero cost. However there is of course a certain RNG element in getting those card. One thing this game heavily suffers from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid meh. This game is hampered by slow card reveal, making the first few runs incredibly repetitive. I wish there was a meh option instead of a negative review. It's fine. It's whatever.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent little roguelike deckbuilder. The boost mechanic (basically, playing cards powers up adjacent cards in your hand) and the ability to carry a relatively high amount of power (most notably ALL FOUR POTION SLOTS) between runs distinguish it from its peers; while the latter can definitely mitigate the difficulty, I still found it consistently engaging. Also, while it's somewhat short on content compared to some of its contemporaries, I would say that in this case it's not a bad thing in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's true that it could use some polish, this is absolutely one of the more hidden RLDB gems on Steam and you're missing out if you don't give it a try. More importantly than its rough edges, it's *fun*, has a distinct identity in an over-saturated genre, and has a highly active dev who continues to improve the game with both content and QOL improvements. Don't sleep on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun roguelike similar to slay the spire just you have a party rather than just one character. Each character has at least 2 main mechanics you can build around and there are 6 characters so you can mix and match quite a bit. The other main gameplay mechanic in which whenever you play a card it boosts the cards next to it, which provides an additional level of strategy when deciding what cards to play. You can also buy/find equipment which can provide small benefits in combat and craft…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game in Early Access back in 2021. Since then there have been a lot of changes and improvements. I would play the game a bit and then report any bugs I found. The devs were very responsive and fast in fixing any problem. After the full release, I can say that I really like the game. The art style is really nice. There is a lot of thinking and strategy going into what cards you choose, how you play your cards and in what order. Challenging and a lot of fun ! A great game !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is good card battler well worth checking out. Deepest chamber that adds a few new mechanics compared to the stalwarts of the genre. After 20 hours of play flees like it real lacks depth of card options/mechanics and feeling of real variety of game-play approaches. Overall the meta progression is uninspiring and the character equipment side and alchemy feels under developed and somewhat disconnected from the card aspects of the main game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DC:R is a slay the spire clone. I bought it for $10, which is probably the correct value. I played for ~20 hours and got to the end boss. I played another 14 hours for achievements almost like it was an idle game. I give it a thumbs up just because it was cheap enough to outweigh the issues. If you like card battlers, it's worth a try. My impression is that it still needs a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of work. There are SO many bugs. Lots of cards and effects don't work like they're supposed to. Lots of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A total hidden gem of a game. If you have fixed limited time to just do a causal run while still feel challenged. This is the game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but compared to other card roguelites it feels... lacking. I don't get the same "one more run" rush I feel with other games like Slay the Spire or Monster Train. It is good but not excellent in any field. All in all, it is entertaining but for the price of admission, I am almost tempted to say this belonged more as a mobile game. I give it a 6/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is too bad, but it is not worth the money. I like the graphics, the theme and I am into both deckbuilders and dungeon games. But unfortunately this game offers very little variability, weak(simple) card mechanics and so it becomes soon very repetitive and not fun. From the the discussion forum it seems that there is not much of a plan to provide further content updates (except for adding controller support :-D). I wish I liked this game, I even purchased and refunded it twice, but the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs rebalancing. If you notice, only 33% of people have completed 1 run. That should be up closer to 90%. In Elden Ring, 43% of people have beat the 3rd boss, so your game is harder than Elden Ring. Rebalance it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addictive mix of genres which means that you will like it many times over. For me it was love at first run. Edit: Almost 100 hours later I completed it 100% but I would do it again 100 times for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No idea how this game could have a positive review, maybe if all good reviews were written within the first 5 hours of playtime. The game does not scale well and I never feel like my team is getting better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →missing a couple things like selling equipment and such, but very fun and took me a bit to get used to
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple but fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Challenging and unique card mechanics set this apart from other Slay the Spire "likes".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love at the first draw Maybe this is just my "first love" bias since it's my first real encounter with a roguelike/lite deckbuilder, but holy moly, these developers simply do not miss. I loved Balrum as an RPG, and they’ve successfully brought that same marriage of different genres/tags to this title as well. "Brain-frying-dopamine" loop The build possibilities are vast. I found myself constantly discovering new combos and strategies to abuse. My favourite builds revolved around card…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has it's charm and something unique going on. You need to get used to how things work, as with any type of game like that, but once you get going - things get pretty fun. There's a lot of standard mechanics going on, but also a lot of interesting unique things - like the boosting mechanic, choosing who gets damaged, and couple of others. The enemies are varied, bosses definitely test your tactics - and once you get a grasp on it, it goes much faster. It sometimes might feel a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 3/5 Although the developer(s) has created a better product than their previous title, Balrum, it’s still not quite good enough to recommend. I hope they keep improving and make a hit on their next title. As far as this game goes, I’d much rather just play Slay the Spire or Monster Train instead. The Good 1. Audio/Music/SFX are almost all between fine and strong, with the exceptions of the Jester’s “voice acting” needing another take and a sharp string instrument effect in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deepest Chamber: Resurrection, developed by Balcony Softworks and published by Those Awesome Guys, approaches the deckbuilding roguelike genre with a haunting sense of desperation that immediately sets it apart. Instead of heroic adventurers seeking treasure or conquest, the player controls a band of exhausted survivors living in the aftermath of a deadly plague, forced to descend into the crumbling depths of a ruined city in search of answers and resources. The world is defined by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a three hour veteran of this game I really like the part where you can upgrade cards by not playing them while you do other things and then when you want to cast them you've run out of manas
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the weaker card games. The whole game is about playing a lot of cards (for combos) but bosses and elites (gila, watcher,..) punish playing many cards. This is just lazy design. Classes, cards and mechanics are ok but nothing special. Nice for a run or two until you realise that you shouldn´t play 80% of your cards because the bosses hardcounter them. Sounds unfun? Yes it is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 its ok, just lacking in any flair finished 3 runs and outside of combat the game just felt so bland... no story events aren't really anything why should i play this over the 30 other games almost exactly like this that i own?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game for roughly 11 hours upon writing, and I've gotten to the level 7 chambers or whatever they are called. I like this game, but there are definitely some flaws that are hard to overlook. I think the biggest issue for anyone trying to start off playing is that a lot of the cards either aren't explained correctly, don't explain enough (do more things than said), or are worded in a way that doesn't express what the card does. This in tandem with the tool-tips for cards not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish that there was a neutral rating because in its current state that is what this game deserves. It is not a bad game by any stretch and I actually quite enjoy it, however, it needs more time and updates to really apply the polish that it needs and flesh it out quite a bit more. Some specifics: -Party system: Great idea and has a lot of potential. However, there is very little synergy between the cards to make this the system that it is advertised as. Outside of using class…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid card game. The boosting mechanism is great and any fan of card games needs to check it out. And make sure to make your wolves slick!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 12 hours and maybe half a dozen runs, I'm really liking it. It's true that it feels slower and heavier than more mobile-friendly/short-sesh deebs like Slay and Balatro, but that's a flavor, not a flaw. It's more of a cozy dinner on your laptop / 1-3 hour weekend session game than a lunch break / work commute game. The card boosting mechanic (whereby playing a card upgrades adjacent cards by one of potentially multiple available levels until those cards are used or the combat encounter…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not for me. Take character, progress until you die. Healing is very limited and monsters get tougher as you progress. So you take on tougher enemies while continually being drained, until...... you die. Then you get to start all over with some perks. I HATE games like this. Just my preference but I play all games where death is permanent. So obviously I do not enjoy endless death cycles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly fun game even if it doesn't seem like that at first glance. The boost mechanic it's simple but at the same time adds a layer of complexity that makes every decision matter. There are some insane combos that completely break the game and you can find them regularly. The trick is to get as many trinkets as possible. Overall very fun game, probably underrated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tentative recommendation - there's a lot of competition in this space. Is it as good as Slay the Spire or Neoverse etc etc? No, I don't believe it is. HOWEVER, the dev team are to be lauded for their innovative card boosting system wherein playing cards from hand boosts the cards next to them, triggering various effects. This works really well and was very creative. However, Deepest Chamber suffers from a problem common in this genre - unintuitive card and meta boost interactions. There are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not "suggesting" it, I'm rather in the middle with it Being an adorer of roguelike deckbuilders, I tend to pick up any game I find on the store, Deepest Chamber was one of those games in the genre that I know I won't be remembering in the future but nevertheless was an okay game. The unique catch in this one is that you have 3 characters and they all get their cards, they can be stunned (unavailable to draw "their" cards) and every (almost) card can evolve for one use each time you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave it a try as it looked cool/interesting but after just 30 minutes I lost interest. It feels clunky and unintuitive. It isn't a game for me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun, dark souls meets D&D-esque card RPG. Great game to be played along with a podcasts or after a long day when I have about enough energy for a game that can be played with purely a mouse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are on the line get this. 1. Gameplay is really addicting and pretty challenging. 6 characters items trinkets cool art and ambiance and the difficulty comes from the right things. 2. My game got messed up and I couldn't play. Contacted devs and they helped me troubleshoot and helped me fix it which is totally awesome! The game is a definite gem with a unique boost mechanic secret bosses etc. My top find of 2024 so far easily on issue is they need to make more! But seriously I see some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid 7/10 game. It's a solid Rogue/like card battler, but could use some improvement. The gameplay is easy enough to pick up, but there is no real tutorial. A "tutorial map" does exist (it will be your first map), but there isn't a ton of explanation on some of the finer points. For example, encountering a shrine that removes the 1st boost isn't exactly intuitive - it completely removes the 1st boost and moves the 2nd boost (if unlocked) to the 1st boost position. The crux of the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply put this game is fun but is ruined thanks to the watcher boss. The fact you can only play 10 spells destroys the whole point of the game... This game is about boosting cards so you can combo, because thats the only really good deck you make. The fact that you get punished for making a combo deck goes against everything your trying to do. Slay the Spire allows you to build many different builds, not just combo. But in this game there is a lack of balance and combo really is the only way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Will update this as I play more. I quite enjoy the flow of the game and the rougelite elements. However, the lore and personality of characters is really poor. It lacks substance and these elements feel like a poor written child tale. And it's underwhelming because the concept is really cool (the city gone underground, amock, with deserted, haunted, cursed vibe and heroes discovering it) Also, the graphics ... the 3D models are sometimes weird. For example ... the pope model, when he…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Resurrection is right! I had to die a few times before I found a deck that could progress through the deepest chambers. A great beginner build is the Sorcerer: Scorch. I appreciate the unique feature the cards offer by boosting each other. I think this sets the game against Slay the Spire. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was quite enjoyable, just won my first run on the basic difficulty. I had quite the blast with a bunch of 0 cost cards and the porcelain arm for more drawing. My build was very chaotic but I think it turned out quite well. Plus doing 500 points of damage against the final boss felt GREAT.
