15 of 15 · most liked firstI completed all the current content. In about maybe 8h+-. There is no mission left so I can't do anything in my current save. The game is designed around you doing main missions, and maybe secondary missions that unlock as you do the main missions. Secondary mission repeat themself and don't often yield much items but they refresh the shop, your main source of best in slot gear. You can spend a small amount of your credits to give some bonus for your units (per type) but since the cost is so…

It's a shame that this happens three hours into the game and there's no way to refund it. Like many others, I think, I was attracted by the very cool art. Unfortunately, apart from that, there is nothing really worthwhile in the game. Stay away, at least until it comes out of early access.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad but not good either but it's saving grace is that this is basically a warhammer 40k mechanicus game:) Good atmosphere and good immersion but the turn based gameplay can get tedious. You are basically cyborgs fighting an organic entity that has mechanical components. Played about 40 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69dBorvYf94 I recommand buying the game at this price but early access is always risky, overall if you don't like the game mostly for it's aesthetics wait for more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, but punishing. The are too many instant death traps and situations that can happen. Half the time I have a great battle going, doing good. Keeping my guys alive, healing them up. Then out of nowhere, something destroys the ground under my tank and my unit falls to his death, no chance to save him. Goodbye legendary items. Combat loop is entertaining for the most part otherwise. Unit variety is sufficient, and I like being able to grab other faction units here and there if I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deep Fringe has some really great bones as of now. There were a few small hiccups at launch with NPC behaviour but it was adressed almost instantly, and the team making the game has shown to be passionate about the project so far. The game has great atmosphere and the customisability of the units with the ability to make some really broken builds that let you chew through full armies really makes it a fun experience. As it is an early access game though there are still a few things that need to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update (26/01/2026): Today I was surprised to find that they added proper save system with manual save/load. Now you can create backup saves in-game, without worrying about something getting broken. Original (22/01/2026): Very good tactical game. Somewhat reminds me of Battle Isle II and III. The only issue with Early Access is the save management system: if game doesn't save correctly after battle, you might lose all acquired items and mission itself. For now you need to backup all save…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really liking this so far. Too many tactics games try to add in some clever new system that ends up making it feel like it's less about tactics, and more about getting specials like airstrikes or whatever. This game is all about tactics, pure and simple. You load out your team for a mission, and what you bring in is what you're going to have to work with. Learn how to have units sustaining other units with repairs, learn how to use terrain (height, LOS blocking, weak terrain under…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do love this game, just gonna let them fix stuff and add more good stuff especially hope they increase the number of units you can bring in a mission. Hopefully more factions and new units and even maybe an endless playthrough chapter would be fun kinda~ New update: Finished until the end of the chapter for this current Early Access where one of your so called Team betraying you kinda. But i been spending time on doing secondary mission getting more resources and upgraded all most core units…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is hard to learn esp. without saves. Good news: it is not actually hard to backup your saves at common\Deep Fringe\Deep Fringe\SR_Data\Data\SaveData\GameSave
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and engaging turn based tactical RPG with great strategic environmental interaction! Have streamed an hour on my Youtube channel thus far and intend to do a few more to really get into the meat of the game :) Story/writing is a little clunky and difficult to engage with as it is robotic/computer talk for most of the exchanges, but if you can get past that, the game loop and mechanics are pretty solid, plus the aesthetics and style are really cool!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good gameplay and an interesting setting - but be aware that this is *very* early access. There's no more than a dozen hours of main content and the balance is still very much under development. The closest comparison I have is Urtuk: The Desolation, which I also played in early access and became a very good game for its time. If you liked that, you'll like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I dislike games in which map and objectives are obscured until you reach a checkpoint. Yet still, this game manages to scratch a WH40k-like itch, while being something completely on its own, provide smart maps where you can utilize elevation and environmental props, introduce unique units with versatile abilities and customization, and make an impression (sic!) of an RPG-progression. Unlike other games, when you are limited to certain units, it soon becomes apparen why exactly (you need…
