60 of 130 · most liked firstMan, this game is a large and heavy chunk of nostalgia, and it is a nice quality game too, if only it had a larger community. Say, you're playing Age of Empires. You create a villager, and that's it. That guy goes to collecting food, maybe farming, or maybe mines gold, but he's your average villager guy at his best, and has no indiviuality or distinction from the others. But Cultures takes a way different approach. You want to create a villager? You don't create him, you literally need a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I grew up playing cultures2 and even learnt german doing so. When i saw Cultures on steam i didn't even hesitate for a second. A must have game in your collection!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly does not even load for me on Win10. Game complains that it requires DirectX7 and won't start. Have tried all compatibility modes with no luck and not much about the error when I search online. Cannot recommend for people on Win10 64bit. Still, only cost me 80p or something so there's that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My original review is below, but since then, given I've now become a living, breathing, functioning member of adult society, I wanted to write something more mature and intelligent. Cultures: 8th Wonder of the World is the 4th instalment in a series of 2000s European city builders made by a German development team. The game features an isometric camera angle (I'm not copying the wiki, I just wanted to brag that I just now learned what an isometric camera angle was) and focuses on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I still have my disc for the original Cultures game and seriously love the whole series. I'm so glad there's now a legitimate way to get Northland and 8th Wonder in Australia because they were never released here. I played 8th Wonder last night and got sucked into it again for 3+ hours. The games are sort of a mix between age of empires, the sims, banished and anno. There's production lines but everything is a little more personal as you have to sort of micromanage the Vikings, including…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A major nostalgia trip. The Cultures series is one of my absolute favorites and I still hold out hope for another; a modern game. Nothing has really changed about the game except the resolutions supported, and maybe the music quality, but I'm not sure about that one. I've sought games similar to Cultures and have never found anything that I have felt quite the same about. It is a great series, pure and simple. My only real disappointment is that FUNimation has STILL not publicly released the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game when I was a kid and I recommend it to all fans of strategy games and economics! I run a forum of this game where we did a lot of mods and a shame that it is not we have added this game on steam... but ok. If you do not have too much money in this game, nothing has changed, so if you have an original on the disc - do not buy on Steam, too much money. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a yes all the way. It's a combination between town building, real time strategy, RPG, micro-managing and economy managing. I've played every game of the series for over 100 hours. While 8th Wonder of the World is technically just a small upgrade from Cultures 2 and Northland, it's definitally worth the try. And if you feel like the game could use more maps, there is a Scenario Editor included and you can find hundreds of user made maps on the internet. :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It says 8th Wonder of the World, but I'm not in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games coloring is all wrong for me. It's all bright purple and green mixed together and it hurts my eyes. Restarted the game and still doing the same thing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, just dont alt tab if you do make that mistake, change the resolution and change it back, it does fix it :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aside from Settlers (4 and below), the Cultures games are the most fun of this time of game. Any Settlers fan should have a couple of these games (This one being the latest and last) in their library. The publisher would do well to come back and add Tradiung cards, but even without, considering the low prive and extremely nice gameplay, you can't go wrong with this pruchase.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game of my childhood...Bought it on steam to walkthrough for one more time. And i don`t regret buying it. I would say that if this game would`ve got more attention in the past it could`ve been another great game on the same level as Age of Empires is right now. Hope that ewentually it will get the remaster or something like that. Idea is great, the story is superb. P.S Visit https://culturesnation.pl/ if you want an additional content for the game made by its players(new maps, mods).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy! This game doesn't even start without me first changing which service pack for it to run, Creating and modifying an ini-file and disabling G-sync. When it finally starts there's no options and the sound is loud as ♥♥♥♥, so when i tab out to lower the sound in the windows mixer my computer goes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. First the resolution on the desktop is low and for some reason i can't talk in mumble but still hear my friends. Then when i try to restart mumble nothing happens. When i try to start…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overall engine for Cultures 8th Wonder (aka Cultures 4) is nearly identical to Cultures 2 & 3, so it plays more like an expansion than a sequel, however it's certainly great to see this type of game available on Steam. Having been out of gaming for a while, I had missed the release of Cultures 3 and 4. The only drawback is that the game doesn't enable the player to play any of the other cultures in the Free Play mode. Not a game-killer, but a bit of variety would have been nice. It's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is so old that i can barely play on my pc. There is no game settings, the music is bad and repetitive so its annoying. If you want to feel a game that is similar to that, that works and that is actually entertaining, look for Age of Empires
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game in Germany in 2004 and obviously it was only in german. Spent many hours trying to understand but i was just a little kid. It was pretty exciting to see it here on steam and in english. I already have 20 hours and i'm extremely grateful of how engaging it is. What a pleasure to revive old childhood memories :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess it used to be a good city builder rts. But the Steam version has too many technical issues on Windows 10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in the day I had a lot of fun out of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they should make another game like this and to contine the story, or they could remaster it and polish it fix bugs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tedious and hard to get anything interesting to happen. The miniscule menus and somewhat flat UI don't make for a great feel, and the game seems even more micromanagement intensive than the worst of any CIV/MOO clone. I am sure there is some saving grace to the game once you get the hang of it but after several hours I am out of patience and interest. I've found games like this either are quite entertaining or they mire you down in boring repetition and endless "do this" taskmastery where you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like one of the candies that you loved in your childhood and after many years you discover it once again. The taste is different, but nostalgic feelings are flowing through the gameplay as you complete the campaign and missions. Entire concept has never really changed through all the series (perhaps Cultures 1 was a bit different in terms of managing workplaces), so if someone loved it from beginning, it's really the same thing over and over. The multiplayer is quite nice and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute graphics, nice sound. But under the pretty surface is a very detailed game with loads of depth. What makes it interesting is that your little people can go on missions and gain items, magic items, etc. SO it's one fo the first rpg/rts hybrids. The game had so much potential, but the design flaws make many tasks cumbersome and frustrating. Trade is a major pain, and it's just plain annoying to be stopped in your tracks time and again by non-functioning workers and warehouses. The controls…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cultures 4: 8th Wonder of the World is an old game, but it still has a fantastic atmosphere. For its time, the settlement building mechanics were really enjoyable, and the game could easily keep you hooked for hours. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic strategy games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude. This game completely hooked me and blew every RTS/management game I’ve ever played out of the window—and I’ve played a lot of them. Rise of Nations was my mainstay, but after tasting what this game offers, I can’t help wondering if anything else even comes close. The nearest comparisons I can think of are RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress, yet even those fail to capture whatever special feeling this game delivers. The economic depth and city-building systems are incredible. Every single Viking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of a kind game! I will always come back to this to play!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice old Nostalgia Game. Only a few animation bugs and sometimes you can break quest progression and prematurely win some maps. What gives, this game was made for Windows XP. - if you install and cannot run the game, there's a few guides here on steam to help. But usually just <Right-Click> the .exe then <Troubleshoot Compatibility> and set Compatibility in the first(?) dropdown to Windows XP. Linux users, I'm sure you know how to do Compatibility, you are using Linux. iOS/Apple.... on god,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Cultures - 8th Wonder of the World" is an ancient game from 2003. It's a whopping 20 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks proper widescreen aspect ratio support (it's locked at 4:3) or support for any modern gaming display resolutions, hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge. This is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best Game my country gave this world. Still hope for a new game even after all this centurys.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard crash to black screen. Had to reboot the PC eventually to remove it. Not even taskkill.exe would remove it. Shutdown (forced) didn't either and eventually had to power cycle the PC. Nasty...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →old game with cinematic sounds very interesting the sound engineering and old vibes are an amazing art work is alright nice game for play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's still addictive as Northland; but it's a step down. The UI is worse, you can't "give extras to everyone" anymore; instead the game only lets you toggle a switch for giving equipment to new civilians. The weaksauce carrying/merchantry system is not improved one bit; workers lose their carriages the moment you right-click somewhere, there is no easy way to stop unload orders and you gotta micromanage all carrying processes etc. And that's bad because this game has a lotta "carry goods"…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but lacks the great maps from the previous game. Still amazing, just not as much 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first city builder I ever played so I'm very biased of course! It is the expansion to the second game and it is very good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is more about taking care of your citizens than just building an army conquer other lands, it's kinda underrated among other RTS games. It supports HD resolution and aged decent but i got frame drops occasionally but it wasn't game breaking.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First, runs smoothly under Windows 10 and no bugs seen yet. Good steamversion. I played it Offsteam many hours, now I finished it via Steam too and needed >40 hours for a walkthrough. It is much faster possible, but I enjoyed it more, with a relaxed playstyle. Still best Cultures game. Good ambience and not too childish. It's cute. Really worth it, if you like Settlers in general. Improvements in gameplay to its predecessor. Like, you can predetermine the number of your desired children. ^^…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished the tutorial in my 3 hours of playing time to find almost none of it was useful to play the game. There are no guides, no wiki, no website, no relevant forums, no way to tell how to do certain actions you need to play the game. Granted I got this game on sale, but not worth the money I paid and can't get a refund (3 hrs played) so just stuck with a door stop now. If you plan on making a guide and spend 80+ hours doing so I would buy the game otherwise not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first strategy game... the feels :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an absolute slog that buries you in endless, tedious micro-management just to get anything done. You spend half your time babysitting clumsy worker paths, dealing with buried menus, and resetting because a defenseless VIP child died with no autosave. The goofy premise and clunky trade systems make the endless loop feel like an exhausting chore rather than fun. Save yourself the headache and skip this frustrating relic.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dazzling tapestry of civilizations, each culture a shining star. I'm hooked on every new strategy, can't stop playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, but not replayable. After playing through the entire campaign and missions five times, the game is pointless. I recommend it as a 20-30 hour game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →buy these games on gog
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful times of nostalgia. I love this game! I remember playing it for several hours every day when i was very young! ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Directdraw init failed (001) read 2 guides and i still cant get the game to run
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Build villages and guide your little viking citizens. Underrated little gem of a game. Pretty old but aged well. Better than Settlers imo. Buy it with Cultures- Northland, a prequel to this one- it costs next to nothing when on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's sad that not that many people even know this game exists
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dreadful UI. Meanwhile, micro-management games require a great UI.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An awesome strategy game based on resource management, small settlement development, and simple production lines. Combat AI is outdated, nearly non-existent, but the combat itself is simple enough to not be heavily affected in a negative way. The game's difficulty mainly adds more citizen needs to satisfy which can end up being hard to manage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a bit of troubles starting the game, but once running, it's a fun game... with flaws. I'm playing on Win8.1 and had to set compatibility to Win7 to make it work. Setting it to WinXP worked as well. The game is quite charming, mostly because of the characters that can be personalized in many ways: you can rename them, choose professions, marry them... Besides those cute little extra's, the gameplay reminds a lot like The Settlers. Some controls however aren't obvious: it takes a bit of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**Tl;dr**: 8th wonder of the world fixes some issues with Cultures Northland, but is still not worth playing for more than nostalgia. The good More depth to overlooked mechanics The new campaign missions are far more focused on trade, which was almost irrelevant in Cultures Northland. Once you get the hang of the trade system, it's actually pretty rewarding. Some levels spawn you in areas with limited resources forcing you to build relations and trade with your neighbours. Having to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can get this game on sale for like 70 cents and even then its still overpriced, suprised by how many positive reviews there are.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been a fan of the Cultures series of games since the start, and I still play Northland and 8th Wonder of the World regularly. Wish there was a new version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs good and looks fun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/mqe0ta7Y9vQ Fundamentally, technical issues aside, this game tries for far more than it is able to deliver.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terribly broken, waste of time. Note: I love the original game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one still hits home
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After a decade, Cultures (this is the 4th release i think) is still my favorite strategy (after the grand-strategy titles). Its the best combination between builder games (like Settlers) and battle games (like Age of Empire). What i like/dislike the most is, in this order: -most realistic village-building simulation (villagers grow up, marry, make kids, eat, sleep, build/upgrade buildings, manufacture goods in assigned building (needed for eat/equip/other buildings), improve in each…

Grafiksel açıdan fazlasıyla hoş olduğunu da söyleyebilirim. Eğer strateji oyunlarını seviyorsanız kütüphanenize eklemenizi kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.
