negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PUBLIC NOTICE (Uncut patch): I made an uncut patch (the original uncut version is no longer available for sale) which adds full subtitles, decensors the game and has bonuses, here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/culpa-innata-uncut-patch My playtime is low even though I finished the game because I played using the uncut version executable. Now the review: Culpa Innata is a fantastic and quite unique adventure game, it does a lot of things most games don't and really deserves your time and money.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best adventure since Blade Runner for me. You do not use your mouse to check every pixel for that one thing you miss. Instead you have to decide how to talk to people, what to mention, what to hide, how to proceed. You don't have to find *the* right solution. You find *your* solution. I got hooked by this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"The best adventure since Blade Runner for me." Gotta agree with this guy. This game is amazing. Great story (based on a book, if I recall correctly), nice characters, interesting puzzles, multiple endings (based on our choices). World Union (where the game takes place) reminds me a lot of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. As for the graphics, for a game that old I don't even think they're bad. Just a warning: see those black bars on the screenshots? Game doesn't run in widescreen. But the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is really a very unique adventure game, I play adventure games since the 80's and i am very amazed with this one. The game is full of realistic dialogs and interesting characters. I am guessing over 15 hours of dialogs are in the game. Only downside is, the graphics are a bit low quality and pathing is confusing. I wish a sequel is made. I strongly advice this game to adventure gamers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like it might be a good game. Looks good and seems interesting. Unfrotunately it is useless and unplayable for me. It says it has Captions, There is a captions option. But the major game breaking problem is the captions are only in the cut scenes. Given the point and click style of gameplay and no in game captions makes this very difficult. Click somethign and the character tells you about it. Probelm is, I am a Deaf/HOH gamer..... So, like i said, rather than simply havign in-game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great first part of what should have been a series. Culpa Innata is set in the near future in a society that most of us would find very alien. The main character is an officer given the task of investigating a murder which is an event so rare in this world that everyone doen't really know how to start. The best thing about this game is the detail of the setting. 'The World Union' where the main character lives and works is a society different to any of our own. In the game you not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good things: both the story and the world are interesting and well fleshed out (the game is based on/inspired by Alev Alatlı's book "Schrödinger'in Kedisi", I presume a lot of the world lore originates from there). The characters and dialogues are more hit and miss, but some of them are quite well-written as well. The non-linearity is an ambitious concept. The characters' faces and facial expressions are well done. The protagonist and a couple of other characters have solid voice acting.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first glance it is just an ugly adventure game from some unknown Turkish developer. So why is it in my recomendation? Because of that world, which is presented. This isn't game for kids. In fact, it's really grim game full of politics and distopian visions and if you give it a chance, it can definitely surprise you...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought it would be interesting, but the ridiculous setting and conversations ruin it thoroughly. You are supposed to be solving a murder, but instead of investigating the crime scene, body, weapon, motive, etc. the main character goes around talking to everyone about their sex lives. She is also apparently only allowed to ask one or two questions per day of anyone she meets, and despite the case being confidential, she blabs about it to everyone within earshot. There is also a completely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty good futuristic adventure game. While I did play it with a general walkthrough you could definitely finish it without one. The thing I liked most about it is that unlike the old-school adventure games (King's Quest, Space Quest, etc.) you can't really bork your game by not picking something up that you will need 5 hours later. Definitely one that I would recommend to adventure fans, and depending on your patience, a pretty good one for others as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. It's surprising that it wasn't more advertised in its time. I read that some compared it to the longest journey( which I also loved) and that culpa innate won out over it... It's got a few glitches, being an older game but the story alone is enough to keep it at the top of excellent, engrossing pure adventure games. It CAN be confusing at first and I recommend having a walkthrough handy . But it's worth sticking with and indeed playing over, as there are so many avenues…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story background but with a very slow and unsatisfying progression. Amazingly long dialogues, most of them useless, minor gameplay issues and technically way below average.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for a mystery adventure game it was boring coridors were two long everything was too far away from each other and you spend more time walking and running half the time in circles rather than solveing the case only those who the patiance of a saint can put up with this game personal rating 1/10 and thats being generous
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this after seeing Ross's Game Dungeon. It was worth playing after watching that video. Great worldbuilding and character interactions. The kind you only get when a true author is involved in development. This vision of an alternate future is going to linger in my memories like Chronomaster and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. The gameplay is a bit weird - you spend most of your time talking to people. So much talking. At first I resented it for how much time it took, but now that the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A detective story? In a way, yes. Phoenix has to investigate the murder of a World Union citizen and will succeed in the end. But it differs much from the 'normal' detective story. On the one hand we learn a lot about this new society, where our present virtues are not worthy anymore but greed and selfishness are desirable propberties. People are expected to be happy for the fact alone, to live in this society. Many try to become citizens of the World Union and immigrate. Not easy, they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my All-Time favorite adventure/puzzle type games. You play as World-Union Peace Officer Phoenix Wallis. It's a classic point-click adventure with plenty of puzzles to solve, but it does not stop there: The game also offers fantastic details and graphic animation for all it's many characters throughout the game. There is a lot of dialog between everyone and they all have stories to share about life in the world union as well as facts relating to your murder mystery. Some point-click…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fraudulent and contemptible. - Butchered version. Censors should be guillotined on a matter of principle, but selling incomplete products without mentioning the amputations is shady practice indeed. I'm starting to get fed up with Steam. - Pixel hunting. Of the worst imaginable sort, in huge 3D empty spaces, with no hot spots key, and not even a cursor change over the targets. Also, incredibly, I failed 10 times at grabbing a pin in the inventory. That bad the UI. - No subtitles. (The search…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all: This Steam version is a crappy, censored, cut off version, which doesn't even have subtitles in it! But fortunately they can be downloaded as a patch from the internet. Alas, that is not the only problem with this game. No, far from it. The interface is a catastrophe. Using items to gameworld is horrendous procedure, path finding issues are monumental, and constantly changing camera angles confuse you where on earth you can even go. To top it off, some of the scenes are 3D, some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've experienced the game with the [url=https://www.moddb.com/mods/culpa-innata-uncut-patch]uncut patch. It's fairly interesting, I liked the main character with her flaws and ingenuity combined with a good heart and strong drive. The dialogs and the various characters you meet were rather good, and sometimes made me laugh. The investigation itself was incredibly slow but compelling enough to want to see it through. However, the intrigue was too simple and didn't "toy" with the player/reader…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almighty god of the mcgyvers, what a promising story and what a wasted opportunity. Culpa Innata has a really nice world building that is mixed with a nicely typical noir convoluted story, where all the threads point to different directions in vertiginous speed. It is very ambiguous with the characters (mostly are very mean, above them all a very nasty best friend that cannot stop humilliating and harassing our main character) and it drops pieces of information about the game world in a very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the so-so graphics, it's one of the most interesting adventure game offerings of the past decade. Also, Culpa Innata manages to weave an authentic sci-fi story (and world) - no fluff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting adventure game featuring a well-constructed sci-fi (anti-)utopia world, with many subtle worldbuilding details. The difficulty is on the easy side, but not insultingly easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great adventure game. Perfect storyline and characters. Graphics are a bit outdated but if you're really an adventure game fan, you probably would not care for that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unique adventure,. it is open world for most of the game allowing to approach in few different ways It is extremely dialog heavy. most of the game is listening to people talk and a lot of it does not move story forward as it is your job to steer conversations to where you need them to go. but you are playing as young naive 'police' officer who is completely not prepared for the task given.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was disappointed by this game due to the way the story was laid out. There was a surface mystery to solve, which happens mainly through interviewing people. It was a basic, straightforward murder mystery which the game spends 95% of the time on. [I'm sorry if the following is a spoiler, but I wish someone in the reviews had put something about this in them. I would not have played it if I knew. } But more intriguing is a deeper mystery which hints at a whole unknown world outside of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A hidden gem! A cyberpunk-themed point and click adventure with a really good story, fair voice acting and good puzzles. Similar to 'Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy' (which is good too). Totally worth it for good story fans and a must for point and click adventurers like myself.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A conspiracy theorist's wet dream. Your worst nightmare. Charming debut vibe though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It may well be a classic already but this is by far one of the best graphic adventures I've ever played. Recommended if you love Blade Runner with a female lead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rather stylish, but boring to play. I like the graphics, but getting started with the game feels more like punishment than something I would do for fun. At best I could call it confusing. Also, every action you do in the game is overly slow, even if you just want to look at an item. The dialogues cannot be fast-forwarded. That is bad, people speak very slowly, a lot of the dialogue is not needed for the plot, and none of it is well written. I gave up after what felt like an hour; without any…

unlabelledView post →Fun little narrative game. The point and click aspects are not very good and the puzzles are not very fun. The setting and the story is very good though and makes it worthwhile even though it has some pacing problems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is much delicious sarcasm and humor in this game. Buy it now. too short; was expecting to read more version follows: This is science fiction at its best, but also great dramatic writing, and a well planned and executed adventure game at the most basic level. No, it's not perfect. The game studios that spend a fortune trying to be "cinematic" by filling a game cut scenes full of explosions, QTEs, and embarrassed A list actors should play Culpa Innata. This is a game consisting of three…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game. I think it has some smart ideas (even if they're now outdated), and the plot/story might be interesting, but the interface is terrible. The clicking to move around the areas is awful, simply frustrating. You can start in one place, walk across a normal pedestrian bridge, and not be able to return to the previous area because the camera angle, or clicking interface, won't allow you to get back far enough to trigger the view of the previous area. Walking around a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like point and click adventure games then this game is pretty much one of the best ones, it's a non linear detective game, you go around a city hub asking questions which there's a lot of dialogue options that you have to pick carefully. You're not gonna hear a lot of repeating voice lines and such, lots of locations with different music each. Puzzles are really great and will really put good use of your brain. Map navigation is also good, you can easily go to different places fast with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't know about Culpa Innata before Steam recommended it to me. The description sounded intriguing, so I decided to buy it. Man, I will never regret that decision, this game is wonderful and immersing! I liked basically everything about this game, except maybe the controls which were a bit "demanding" and the voice-over for some characters. But I guess they just had a few voice actors, and therefore had to disguise their voice. The game is based on the book Culpa Innata by B. Barmabek from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR Point and click from 2007 with great story but uneven gameplay and puzzles, begs for a sequel. Subtitles are bugged. If you like dystopian point and clicks, get it on big discount I played this back when it was released. Graphics are vintage 4:3. The game world is very interesting, based on the novel of the same name by B. Maranbak (translated into English recently). The puzzles, voice acting and gameplay are uneven, and the ending begs for a sequel that was never written. The biggest…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely enjoyed the alternative world it described. Loved the sociological aspect and always wanted to learn more about the life in the World Union. However, the fact that the game was based only on dialogues was disappoing. If there were more puzzles and less talking, this game could have been a solid 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a really fun and interesting game - the main character's naive dialogue and British accent makes the game. It was really fun. If you've played the Nancy Drew games from HER interactive - it's very similar to that, but it's third-person and takes place in a future. Save often and interact with your makeup kit when you're pressed for leads. There were a few annoyances, however. -clunky gameplay. While your curser usually becomes a hand when hovering over interactive items, items…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the concept, the world and the story. Too bad the sequal never made it into game form.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reviewing games I played a long time ago: A very ambitious aventure game that in many ways was ahead of its time mainly on how non linear it is and the freedom it gives to the player on how to proceed in the investigation. Kinda reminds me of the Blade Runner game. Saying that, even though I admire it, I remember I didnt really liked that much. I dont think I'll ever replay it again, but I liked it enough to buy it here and be part of my library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game if you like scifi, graphic adventure games, and interesting society-based or politically-focused plots. No combat, no harsh timers, just relaxed and thoughtful mystery-solving gameplay. If you are cool with older graphics and yearn for less predictable writing then this is a good one. I do honestly wish the sequel had come out as the ending answers maybe 75% of your questions but it's satisfying enough not to be disappointing. Overall I definitely recommend it- especially to…

unlabelledView post →Well I finished this game. It kind of meanders back and forth, didn't really understand what I was doing until maybe hour 6 and it's only a 10 hour game if you play slow. The game is an interactive interviewer-adventure game, there are some point and click elements but the bulk of the game is in question and answer sessions for interviews kind of like LA Noire. It's pretty open ended, you can choose who you want to talk to, how you want to approach the main case. Walkthrough isn't really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When will I ever learn that I hate point and click games? It irritates me that I am supposed to find something right in front of me, but I cannot unless my cursor clicks exactly on it when obviously I could see it with my eyes (but cannot in the game). Then, the game becomes simply following the instructions of someone else's walkthrough. As in many of these games, it is very difficult to also figure out what you are supposed to do next. The story itself seemed interesting, so uninstalling it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game if you like thought provoking themes and good world building. The puzzles aren't the best and the gameplay can be slow, but the world and themes makes up for it to me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not have the patience for this in 2026 - every location, run, run, run - not enjoyable -asked for a refund
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth the effort. Game runs only at 1024x768 fullscreen. I know it's old, but that's no excuse. We had higher resolutions back then, and games that are sold should still work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An underrated gem with a unique play style - half point & click puzzler, half detective interview simulator with an impressive amount of fully voiced dialogue options with divergent outcomes (it was actually a precursor to LA Noire, which I believed to be the innovator of this gameplay style before I discovered Culpa Innata) The setting is also unique - a post-post-apocalyptic future, where society fell apart but was rebuild with a new world order living by different codes of law and…
