Crysis is a 2007 first-person shooter game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows. It is the first game in the Crysis series. A standalone expansion, Crysis Warhead, was released in 2008, following similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective. A remastered version of Crysis titled Crysis Remastered was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Even though Cevat Yerli initially founded it alone, his other two brothers joined the company later on. While many of us know him from the Crysis series, we shouldn't forget that he also developed Far Cry 1. When the original Crysis came out in 2007, it turned PC graphics upside down. In fact, as most of you know, people used to use Crysis games to benchmark graphics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Remastered graphic is still beautifull for todays standard. And trust me my friend this game is still demand a powerful pc to run it on higher setting. So the legendary quote from almost 20 years ago "can it run crysis" still relevant!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think people who feel disappointed with this game come into it with the wrong mindset. This is a stealth shooter first and foremost. You're not meant to be Master Chief, running into the front lines tanking bullets in armor mode. You're meant to be the Predator, using your invisibility to move from cover to cover, hiding in grass while your suit recharges, headshotting any Korean guy dumb enough to wander away from the rest of his squad. There's a lot of tension when you play the game like…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For this price it's only really worth it if you're really nostalgic about this game, which I was. I enjoyed it but it didn't really stop me from noticing how aged some parts of this game felt. And it is much shorter than I remembered.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolute letdown. Why bother with a remaster if it's a step down in more than half of what made the original enjoyable. Don't give me visual downgrades in a Crysis remaster, like explosions no longer affecting foliage. Don't give me terrible sounding and wildly inconsistent nanosuit sound effects. You'll be hearing them throughout the entirety of the game, likely every few seconds. Armor and strength no longer have sound effects. With maximum armor, which is basically your default "off"…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis is a great game, I personally like the Cryengine and Crytek itself, especially now the Remastered Version is very good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A legendary game like Crysis deserves a high effort remaster. With a little elbow grease it could have been very impressive even today visually and gameplay wise. Unfortunately, it didn't get a high effort remaster. Instead it got a poorly performing, phoned in remaster that in some ways looks worse than the original game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis is a decent game, but not much other than a glorified tech demo. The visual fidelity of this remaster, combined with the Predator vibes it gives as you play, make it stand out initially, but as you play more, the game's most glaring fault sticks out like a sore thumb in just about every single combat scenario there is. I'm referring to its abysmal AI. Soldiers in this game are some of the most limited, and dumbest I've ever seen in a game. Once you kill one goon, nearby soldiers will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst experience I've ever had in a video game. The game kept crashing every moment, forcing me to restart the PC. It would close by itself, the image and raytracing would glitch out (get buggy). This is the first time in my life I've seen a game so incredibly poorly made. And it's not like I have a budget PC; I'm playing it at 1440p with an RTX 5080 and an R7 9700X, which are not exactly entry-level components.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great dynamic shooter with a story . different game options . you can turn on the armor mode and storm the enemies or lie in the bushes with a sniper rifle and kill everyone from a distance. you can also turn on the camouflage and attack the enemy while invisible . I also encountered a problem at the end of the game, where the corpses of the enemies got stuck in doorways and I had to reload the checkpoint very often. I recommend playing this masterpiece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll recommend this for nostalgia only because that's why I played it. Crysis brought a lot of graphical innovation to videogames back in 2007 and the original graphics still hold up. The gameplay additions of the Nanosuit are also pretty unique. However, the rest of the game from story to shooting is pretty generic, and though it does have some cool moments, I really wish there was more to it. Best to buy this one on sale if anything. Also, can it run Crysis? Maybe Crysis isn't something…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play the original, preferably with mods. This remaster is based on an inferior console port of the original game. Despite all the patches, it still lacks some graphical features and dynamic physics present in the original release. It also clearly hasn't been play tested thoroughly, given the amount of bugs and glitches that are still there. Watch these videos and read their descriptions to understand what I'm saying:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW2rLVjeq3o…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Can it run Crysis?" That saying has been stuck in the back of my mind for awhile. I learned it after watching gaming journalists and youtuber groups on like "Inside Gaming", and i never knew what it actually meant. I thought it was some form of like a "in the know" type of joke for something only highly technically savvy grown up people would know. And ever since I was a child, I daydreamed and wondered if I was ever going to play this game some day. It was, to me, at least, an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stood the test of time graphically, but not exactly gameplay-wise. The game feels like a graphical tech demo more than anything. It looks visually stunning at times, and it looked marvelous back in 2007, but nowadays you realize that you can’t really make tropical locations look bad. Overall, Crysis reminds me of Far Cry, and it essentially IS Far Cry, since both of those games were developed by Crytek, which at the time stood its own ground before being acquired by Ubisoft. Even visually it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Go play this game side by side with the original 2008. You'll notice more things taken out of the game than put in. That's a telltale sign of a cheap / lazy remaster. Little details in games like this make a big difference especially for THE biggest graphics and physics game for 2008. Feel like I'm playing a crysis 3 reskin not crysis. bad/10

By default the suit abilities are rebalanced to be somewhat consistent with the later games, this means that now strength mode is the idle mode, speed mode only activates while sprinting, armor mode now passively uses energy, armor and cloak now also put an…

TL;DR Random hard crashes, enemies soft locking progression forcing restarts, and enemies having aimbot on hard difficulty I finished the game in around 5 and a half hours, all whilst livestreaming it on twitch. Performance is great, had everything on "Can it run crysis" with no issue whatsoever. My playthrough was on hard, and genuinely the enemies have little to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis is a legend that reshaped the industry. At launch, everyone joked: “Can it run Crysis?” I remember firing it up for the first time and being amazed my PC could handle it. This isn’t just a shooter — it’s an open sandbox where tactics, nanosuit abilities, and player freedom create a unique experience. I have played every game in the series at least 10 times, and the first entry still sets the bar for everything that followed. The remaster carefully brings back the classic: improved…

How hasn't this been fixed?!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic job they've done on this. Cloak forces you to stand up if crouched. You can't quick execute enemies after grabing them. I worry about the day when original Crysis no longer works with modern drivers. Crytek must get their ♥♥♥♥ together
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Remastered is a remake version of the original popular Crysis. The remastered version is 64-bit so I can run far better on modern machines. This means no HD or 4K. The game was remastered by Saber. The game's graphics are excellent and the game mechanics are also extremely good even today. The game was demanding for 2007 but on modern machines it now easy to play Xbox 360 class games (2005-2016). I played this on my Dell Precision 3480 with Intel Xe Arc graphics and RTX A500 graphics.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All the "remastered" 'revamped" games are scams specially when they don't actually remaster the old game to begin with modernizing resolutions and such does not cut it if you want full price for it as a new game then you need to add new content and features fix all the old bugs and gameplay issues THEN you can be righteous in your deal but as it stands this is predatory business practices and just shows the devs out to be lame as ♥♥♥♥.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can it run Crysis? It’s a question that has slowly faded into obscurity, much like Gotye after “Somebody That I Used to Know.” For years, Crysis was the benchmark for PC gaming. These days, we have far more demanding games to test. Still, I’m here to answer the question nobody asked: Can the Steam Deck run Crysis? Yes. Yes, it can. Honestly, it’s kind of mind-blowing. The game is incredibly playable at medium settings while maintaining above 60 FPS. You could probably tweak things a bit and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Remastered (PC) Crysis Remastered – is actually, a technically impressive piece of software that looks amazing in certain areas, but it is held back by a few issues a remaster shouldn't have. The 2007 fps, original was famously ahead of its time mainly for its futuristic graphics and hardware requirements that at the time, barely any pcs could even run, it served as the definitive graphical benchmark for about a generation. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic under the ego shooters. Takes all the good things of Far Cry 1 (where Ubisoft and CryTek still liked each other) and brought it back into a new trilogy. I've only played the second one, but I guess it's time to finish the franchise with the remaster.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad remaster. But i had forgotten how confusing and slightly buggy some levels were. I got all 3 copies for super cheap so I cannot complain. I would say that Crysis remastered is great if you can get it on sale. It's definitely an older game compared to the other two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played on Normal after starting on Hard and getting destroyed. The beginning was rough. Enemies can spot you from far away and you die very quickly if you try to play it like a normal FPS. Once I learned to flank, use the suit properly, steal vehicles, and stop fighting fair, the game became much more enjoyable. The open-ended combat is still the best part of the game. There are many ways to approach encounters and it feels rewarding when your plan works. The story is probably the weakest…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished Crysis in a single sitting, with only a few breaks. It’s that kind of game. I’ve been hearing about this series for the last two decades, and now that I’ve finally played it, I can safely say it deserves to be talked about even more. While I’m not particularly fond of the second half of the story, the shift completely changed the way I approached the gameplay and created a very different experience. Even if it wasn’t exactly what I expected, it kept things fresh and memorable.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played the original Crysis when it first released. At the time, I simply didn’t have a PC capable of running it properly. The only Crysis I had experienced before was Crysis 3 on PlayStation 3. Recently, I decided to finish the entire remastered trilogy on PC (except Warhead), and overall it was a genuinely enjoyable experience. All three games are relatively short, with Crysis 3 being slightly longer and more refined compared to the first two. The core identity remains consistent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I booted up Crysis Remastered wondering if my PC was ready. The game didn’t answer. It just stared back. This isn’t just a shooter. It’s a question from 2007 that still hasn’t expired: “Can you run this?” The island is open. Too open. You’re not pushed forward — you’re trusted. The nanosuit isn’t power. It’s choice. Speed to reposition. Strength to dominate. Cloak to rethink your mistakes. Every encounter can be solved ten different ways. And the game silently judges the one you choose.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a game that was considered a glorified tech demo, with a mediocre plot at time of release... This holds up better than almost any shooter made in the last 10 years. Almost everything is destructible for the first 2/3 of the game and it is a blast to change tactics from stealth to run & gun. The unfolding mystery element is a fun way to change the gameplay up for awhile as well. Making the North Koreans the enemy was inspired, evergreen to kill NKs. I would definitely recommend picking…

PROS: ➕Good stealth mechanics ➕Graphics are good CONS: ➖No FOV slider?!? ➖Character models still look like a 2007 game ➖Crash to desktop = 2 ➖Enemies are both dumb as rocks and have aimbot, depending on if they notice you ➖Clunky and dated gameplay ➖Many bugs Content (Game world/Narrative) – [5/10] The game world takes place…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mind-blowing graphics and the Nanospeed suit abilities make you feel like a total superhero! Stealthing around the jungle or going full power is super fun. However, the enemy AI can be stupidly accurate from miles away, and the game gets much less fun in the second half when the aliens show up. 7.5/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, this should not be steam anymore. It speaks volumes about Crytek and how far they have fallen. It's missing a DLL file, and now you have to download it separately from shady sites. Will the DLL file be a virus? Will it help install a crypto miner? Or will it actually work? Nobody knows, may the odds be ever in your favour. Without this DLL file, you can't play it. It doesn't help if you verify files, it doesn't help if you uninstall it and install it again. It's broken. Report it…

But core gameplay has some good tweaks and really bad ones but did i have fun A debatable question Original Had gameplay a bit more clear. Played two games OG and This on delta. Despite the fame as an absolute PC stress tester, it runs like a charm on a 9060XT 16gb with ray tracing and no FSR. The gunplay is amazing, the physics are even better than the gunplay, and it managed to be lots of fun, so much so that i finished the game. All and all, as a first introduction to Crytek/Crysis, i'd say it's been amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, strange remaster. Iffy performance (you get 100+ fps, and then one tree falls down and the framerate drops to 50), DLSS breaks the lighting, invisible fire that does instant damage to you without being able to see it, crashing every hour or so, etc.. Frustrating final boss. The boss was originally really poorly designed but with the new lighting system you can barely see what you need to shoot on it...
