60 of 182 · most liked firstI really wanted to like this game. I really did. But I cannot in good faith recommend Conan Unconquered to prospective buyers. This will be the first-ever negative review I have left on Steam. I usually try to see the benefits of any given game, even as I would point out its shortcomings. For C:U I'm afraid there are very few redeeming features, as is. For one, you can't turn the camera's angle around during gameplay, save for an aerial view mode to place structures more accurately. A common…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually liked the game better than the one it's mechanics are inspired by: "They Are Billions". End if like this type of game you must try Diplomacy is not an option & Age of darkness Mostly because having one unit get through your defenses doesn't cause an inevitable game over (which often happens in T.A.B.). Also if you fail a campaign mission you just re-try it, it doesn't put a permanent demerit on your score because you don't have the galaxy brain needed to do succeed at every mission…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun game but wow it is very unstable. I have had multiple corrupt saves. If you leave the game paused for too long your save corrupts. It also crashes regularly.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fan and veteran of RTS games. A game where you stick on your base and that does not promote your expansion. You get supplied block extremely easy and frequently in this game. Example: To get gold, you need to build a house, to build this house you need to build a lumber camp, to build that lumber camp you need food, to get food you need to build a hunt cabin, to build the hunting cabin you need more territory, to get more territory you need a banner (not the perfect example but you get the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →uninteresting, deriative and uninspired take on the RTS genre, devs are also connected to Tencent and the CCP, who are actively funding ESG/Dieversity garbage in our vidya and have huge stakes in countless crap gaming companies making slop in the west. Not that this game possesses such political issues, but it is connected to them. Try the age of empires, dawn of war 1+exp packs, or supreme commander series if you're desperate for RTS action thats good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yikes, this game really feels like a cheap version of They Are Billions or other games like it such as Diplomacy is not an Option. The problem begins when you are unable to recruit any troops from having to constantly build more houses, but the attack waves come like every 3 minutes. Then you need to build walls but then you find out some of the waves have enemies that ignore walls and climb the cliffs or something, but you don't have the troops to deal with them so you having to use the hero…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No support, dead game, and constant crashes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underrated, severely. And it is a mistake to call it an RTS, this is more like a tower defence gem with some minor topdown adventure/"city builder"/RTS elements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I say yes only because I like other Conan titles, this game isnt that great, yes its fun at first, but its the same level over and over, where you gain experience by replaying and doing the same things and making slightly better choices over and over, Its not really fun the only good part is the opening videos and some of the audio, the actual game, is, well its sad in a sense.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well... this game would somehow surprisingly to me be compared a lot in review to "They Are Billions" because of number of core mechanics similarities. First of all it is "we got They Are Billions at home" situation. Those who look at screenshots and expect to see smth similar to Age of Empires - that's not it at all. Audio - 50\50 cause of big gap between music and sounds. Music would either be quite fitting in Conan the Barbarian\Destroyer movies or modernised a bit. Sounds on the other…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Copy of They Are Billions, but much worse: Gameplay feels forced and too fast. Endless waves instead of big wave after some days. Coop is lagging like hell and it is the only selling point of the game. Grafics and UI feel like early 2000s. Don't even buy in sale!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is dope, it really has a lot of potential, but... The devs apparently stopped caring about this project back in 2019, there is no modding support, and it kinda feels unfinished. That being said, I'm enjoying it for now but I see what could be and it's disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr: Definitely worth the price if you like games similar to They Are Billions but with a few excellent differences: less reliance on enemy spam, challenging economy, roguelite elements, co-op, online customizable maps, and an immersive Conan world (it made me watch the movie). Warning: Though the product description states that it's by the devs behind Command & Conquer, this NOT a C&C or Age of Empires style RTS where you build bases and attack each other. This is more of a They Are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game cannot be launched at all and I was refused a refund. Support said that the product exceeded 2 hours but that is because I bought this as a bundle with Conan Exiles and I played 2 hours on Exile. For Conan Unconquered, the start screen doesn't even load let alone play. Moral of the story: Never buy anything as a bundle in case you can't get a refund with no time to test them all.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game. I Love Conan, and I love what Petroglyph can do. But this wave mechanic is ♥♥♥♥♥. I love the story that this game is based around and I hate that I simply do not love the game because of the mechanic. I want to get into this game by exploring and enjoying it, not by fretting and worrying about what is going on when the wave comes. Really unhappy, but if you like the wave mechanic, all the better for you. And yes I've only had 1 hour on the game. I've been playing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cautiously recommend Conan Unconquered as the seed of something great which seems to have been unfortunately finished a bit too early for it to reach popular greatness. What we got though is an original and unique strategy game, which is pretty well polished and very functional. Conan Unconquered is an original strategy game where you build a huge fortress to survive waves of enemies. Think of the Siege of Troy in terms of what you are doing and the only similar games that I know up until…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a very underrated game! i love the setting, and the gamestyle, im always play defending style. and we have comics and you can unlock the chapters by just play the game. Interesting so many people blame the game for copy They are billions... guys its a genre. Then why not blame for every FPS for copy Wolfeinstein or DOOM? and now here the Age of Darkness, what is absoluetly copy the Conan Unconqouerd but nobody complains about it.... interesting. If you like this genre and you love the Conan…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an RTS it is mediocre at best. The game play is simple, the builds are simple and the soldiers at your command are simple. You have a single hero characther, Conan, who is OP and then the waves from They Are Billions. This is not that. By a long shot. After 2 hours I feel there was not much new to see or build after 45 minutes. I mean, Im sure there'll be more, but it'll be more of the same. Linear progression, linear challenges, leveling up, etc. Rinse and repeat. I'm old, I've played for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Conan Unconquered is a survival-focused real-time strategy game developed by Petroglyph and published by Funcom that deliberately shifts the traditional RTS formula away from expansion and conquest and toward endurance, preparation, and attrition. Set in the harsh and violent Hyborian Age, the game places players in a constant defensive posture, tasking them with building and maintaining a fortress capable of withstanding escalating waves of enemies. From the outset, it is clear that Conan…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually really fun! If you're a fan of conan and played the other conan games, you'll enjoy it. It's pretty hard/challenging and at first I was frustrated at how starved I was for resources. However, once I figured out how to tackle these problems I started progressing thankfully! Which is good because the difficulty ramps up the further you go. Also big kudos to the devs for adding a survival mode where you can keep going as long as you want and arene't beholden to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it because I love Conan and strategy games, got disappointed in both aspects. Looks like a 2001 rts game and plays like a cellphone tower defender.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say: Conan Unconquered was in my list because I thought it was a Age Of Empires like game in the Conan universe. I was completly wrong. It's nothing like Age Of Empires or any other strategy games. It's a freaking base defense game. And I love it. It's pretty hard and I really love that. I really like how the structures get's destroyed and how everything plays out. You need to expand if you want to survive here and manage to get all those waves killed. I died at wave 19 but had a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has good ideas, a pity it is so buggy. Campaign crashes mid game, saves corrupt, co op games crash... it's half way playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear GOD this is the worst RTS game I've ever played. I don't even know where to start. I guess the performance issues. The stuttering in this game is downright hilarious because it just doesn't make any sense for a game that uses RTS models and effects straight outta 2007. I mean seriously I couldn't help but chuckle at how odd it was for a game that looks like this to run this poorly. Just wild. The game itself is also just a travesty and seems to want to make everything as annoying as…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Continuous crashes & super slow loading times. complete waste of money. The little I was able to play: totally boring and nothing to do with conan; just a tower defense game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like most 4X games, I suck balls at this. However, being a MASSIVE Robert E. Howard fan, it's nice to play one of these games set in a mythos he crafted. I need to spend more time getting good at this, but if there were ever a 4X style game not made by Sid Meier to inspire me to put countless hours in, this one is it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a primitive RTS with clunky controls and outdated graphics. The sound and the voices used seems to be chosen by a three year old. Only played solo, but it was enough. The animations and the vibe of the game would be OK 20 years ago.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they are billions conan edition its cool i guess
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Conan Unconquered" emphasis on survival and resource management adds a layer of depth and challenge. The game's endless mode provides endless replayability, allowing players to test their skills against increasingly difficult waves of enemies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a hardcore RTS fan of games such as AoE2, CoH and such, at first I was put-off at the idea this was basically a turtling + comp stomp game -- the lower end of RTS skill. But playing it it's actually loads of fun! Very addictive when you get into it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY, EVEN AT A DISCOUNT Watch a gameplay video on youtube before buying. From the pictures I thought I was getting Stronghold but Conan. It feels more like a mid mobile game, which doesn't sound bad until you remember how low that bar is. Buildings are tiny and every character is 20 feet tall. I know this is common with RTS but from the pictures I saw I was expecting slightly more realistic scaling. Though small the buildings take up a ton of what little space you have on the map and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible RTS game. Poor Performance, mechanics are stupid in co-op. The waves are non-stop. Can't build up, explore, nothing, they just keep coming. Resource nodes are spread out a lot even on standard settings. Not worth the time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Co-op should be updated to allow more players to play together. each choosing one of the heroes available. (Ex. if there are only 4 heroes in the game, the game should ally co-op up to 4 players. if there are more than 4, then up to the number there is)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great promis, midocere execution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unbalanced, horrible graphics, walls dont even work right ♥♥♥♥ just walks right past. not fun coop dont even bother a complete waste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Resource Acquisation Is way to slow to make progress, You have to spend way more gold than you can even start to make.. While it takes an enemy Swordsman 5seconds to destroy something that will take you 8 rounds to rebuild.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a poorly balanced version of they are billions. The only thing going for it is the co-op mode. Many game mechanics look good on paper, but are just not fun to play. My friend and I really tried to like it because we needed a co-op rts game and this looked like it. After about 10 hours we couldn't pick it up again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it the best strategy game ever made? No... but i think it's a great game and definitely worth a try especially if it's on sale. The game feels a lot like the RTS games made in the early 2000's which i personally love and as far as games from Funcom go, this one actually works without crashing or dare i say... being too incomplete. The game requires you to explore with your hero to gather resources/level while building and researching at your base. I love this because instead of solely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this was an awesome old school strategy game, and a great Conan game! The game takes place during the story Black Colossus, in which Conan leads an army (for the first time in his life) against an evil sorcerer. The gameplay is fun and pretty unique. I mostly love how faithful they are to the lore, and leading Conan around on a battlefield is priceless!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Connan Unconquered is a wave RTS, very simillar to They Are Billions, but less unforgiving and more fast-paced. Here you control a hero, gather resources and build units and defenses in the hope you can whistand the next wave. The Good: +Relatively fast paced +It encourages exploration and the defeat of neutral monsters and bosses +It can get very intense, particularly if you play in "Crom mode" +Includes the Black Colossus comic in which the game is based on. +The music and the classic Conan…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall can't say that I would recommend it to any but people who enjoy forced encounter RTS games. If you don't like that, there are other more controlled RTS games that are out there that will likely be more favored by the larger number of people. You get only minimal time to try and build up supplies during what would be a "campaign" mode, all the while trying to manage your very meager supplies. The progression of the rounds goes from so simple you don't need to invest in defenses to the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really love this game so far; for 5 dollars its a win! Im pretty sure it uses models from the AGE of CONAN mmo lol. I love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly deep technology upgrades. I haven't gotten too deep into the game yet at 5 hours, there is a lot of stuff I have yet to build, but the balance of economy and defense it a lot of fun! Looking forward to playing more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it is fun, its a step back for a rts. It really is just extra difficult for no reason in co-op. I have played rts games for a long time such as Starcraft, Supreme commander, AoE, etc. Im not new by any means nor do i see myself as a trash can of a player.I do not see myself playing much more of this game when AoE or Starcraft is a option. Overall: 3/5 if you are a hardcore conan or rts fan but be warned its not as good as almost any other option.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of bugs and keep crashing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Conan Unconquered is a Starcraft (Blizzard) clone with minor modifications. The game is unbalanced and the graphics are grainy. The input control is non responsive (4-5 clicks to perform one action). The Artificial Intelligence for the hero's are terrible, forcing the player to have to micromanage each hero in battle or the hero will die. I do not recommend buying this game. Not worth the money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hm, it is an RTS game, sure enough. But why does everything take so long? I like the Conan Universe, which I sadly do not know nearly enough about. Sadly this game, as special as it is with its economy system, it does not tell enough it. This is, of course, moved to a nicely made comic in the main menu, but is it enough? No cutscenes, no dialogs, every mission is the same formula: Build a base, raise some walls, and defend against waves of attackers. The attackers thereby only consisting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Upkeep is way too high ... too hard to expand .. and not enough time to do any research. like a really poorly done TAB
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not for me. It's borderline more of a tablet app than a PC game. I think I'll go play some Dune.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over all I'm going thumbs down, too many bugs, poor A.I., waves come too fast-game punishes you for exploring, resource management is a nightmare and beyond irritating. Its too much of a punch in the ♥♥♥♥ with not enough fun to counterbalance it. Its not a dumpster fire, it has merit and I could see with some polish or update improvements a game that could be a good time. Maybe if they fix it up some I'll change my mind but for now only buy this if you like being punished for playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a tough one. The best way to play the game is very different than how you would think it would be due to the high upkeeps cost in this game. You can really go in circles and make no real progress if you try to upgrade your buildings. Because you are making houses to make gold to make farms to make more thralls to make more houses to make more farms ... etc. Just going in a loop where you are no better off than you were at the start. So you really need to build the primitive buildings…
