So um. I'm really unhappy that I have to write this type of review because I waited for a very long time for this game and it looked so promising. I've studied the disaster for more than fifteen years and know it very well, but I was prepared to forgive this game for certain things (which is more leeway than I gave to HBO Chernobyl, which - don't even get me f-ing started). So let's do categories to make this easier: Accuracy- 2/10. Dear god. Other reviews in the feedback thread for this game…

Act 1 & 2 are really fun in showcasing the first responders to the Chernobyl incident and trying to simulate it in game format. Act 2 starts to add more story and background to the character you take control of. Act 3 continues to showcase that with helping evacuate but slowly introduces odd gameplay mechanics. Act 4 turns into a full on stealth mission with radioactive hallucinations and the point where I put this game down. This game doesn't know what it wants to be but I still appreciate the…

I so wanted to love this game. I'm fascinated by all things Chernobyl and Pripyat, but this game just isn't it. The game play is clunky and super repetitive at times. The hacking portions have no business being in the game and it just really isn't that fun. I'm also really nervous that this game has just been abandoned by the devs. They promised a long time ago that they were working on an update with DLSS and the new Unity version, but nothing has come of that and the Discord is dead too.…

Definitely can't recommend this game, which is a real shame because I was very hyped for its release. I got soft locked in the first level, once I get to the roof, I am completely unable to progress as a story critical item (the dosimeter) does not spawn. The platforming is PAINFUL, the framerate is awful. ...where's the radiation? I sat next to the burning remains of reactor #4 and was not affected in the slightest. EDIT: I gave this game another chance, some of the levels are interesting,…

I personally want to thank all the Chornobyl Liquidators that gave their lives to save the world, Thank you! Absolute best of the best gave their lives not knowing how important the mission was they was on, Thank you. I absolutely loved the game. What a brilliant concept of a game felt like I was with them making history!

The opening of Chornobyl Liquidators genuinely wrecked me — playing as one liquidator after another, only to find each previous body lying exactly where it fell, is the kind of haunting storytelling that sticks with you long after you put the game down. The first couple of acts do a decent job capturing the grim, hopeless work of the cleanup crews, and the atmosphere is legitimately unsettling at times. But by the midpoint the game completely loses the plot: radiation inexplicably glows bright…

I had this game in my wishlist for maybe 2 to 3 years, and I was very excited when I heard the announcement that it was coming out. I have a big interest in Chernobyl and when I saw the trailer and the pictures it looked promising. I bought the game when it came out and it had its negative reviews, but it also had promise, so I waited. Playing the game a few months later after release I was expecting a lot of positive changes, but unfortunately after completing the game I wasn't very…

Some games entertain. Some challenge. And some leave a mark that lingers long after you put them down. Chornobyl Liquidators is one of those games. It’s a deeply unsettling experience that captures the brutal, hopeless reality of the Chernobyl disaster’s clean-up crews—men sent in to die, shoveling radioactive death off rooftops with no real hope of survival. At its best, it delivers a harrowing, emotionally effective look at the liquidators’ experience, but at its worst, it frustrates with…

I've always been a huge... well.. fan doesn't sound like the respectful answer. But I have always been interested in the Chernobyl disaster. I educated myself on almost everything and was super keen and hyped for this game from the start. (Back when the demo was first available.) Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend this game. This game has been in development for a few years now and yet what we got was barely enough gameplay that you could complete it in a single day. It took me 5 and a half…

I want to leave a review because it hurts me how this game has failed in many aspects, and because I wanted it to succeed... I played the beta and was super excited to get the full game as the Chernobyl disaster and the following cleanup have been a rather special interest of mine for years. But unfortunately it's not a good game, even beyond the poor optimization, the mechanics are poorly implemented and the scenery in many cases makes you lose immersion, but even then, I had fun most of the…

Just don't... The principle sounds very interesting, especially for a die hard stalker fan. You will recognize the buildings and the atmosphere is ok. But... - the tutorial (act 1) is bad, like really bad, for example the first task is to lock onto a hydrant - there is a hydrant right at the start, with action buttons - so i tried to use that one for 15 minutes until i realized i have to use one with no action buttons, - there is a common, known, GAME BREAKING bug in the tutorial... like,…

I played the demo for this game a long while back, and it was fun. It was promising. I was looking forward to it. Then the full release came out and it was clear that was where all their energy went. The rest of the game looks and feels crude and unpolished, the mechanics are confusing, and the story about espionage feels rather on the nose. The Chornobyl Event was a fascinating event that deserves a realistic look into how it was handled, but I feel like it could have been handled a little…

At its current state, I do not recommend this game. The game certainly has lots of potential, but the amount of game-breaking bugs is overwhelming. Within the first five minutes of gameplay, I encountered two game-breaking softlocks without even trying. I simply played the game normally, using its intended mechanics. **Examples:** In one of the first quests, you are supposed to pick up graphite blocks with a shovel and throw them onto a designated drop-off spot. However, you can also throw…

After buying this game I didn't play it for a month or two, but I wished I played it sooner so I could've refunded it. The first act was decent. Mainly confusing because a game breaking bug was within the first few missions. I had to restart just to fix the bug. The ending of act 1 was just a jump cut to start the next act.

This really disappointed me, the game is buggy, laggy, and unfinished. The game shouldn't have been released in its current state. Many bugs ranging from annoying to gamebreaking can be found within the first 5 minutes of the game. To top it all off, the Elephant's foot isn't even radioactive. :(

This game is rough. It's plagued with audio issues, clipping objects, incorrect subtitles and historical inaccuracies. FPS drops below 30 on a RTX 4090 and an i9-14900KF. Despite the issues, it's very unique and they nailed it with the environments and the atmosphere. Buy this on sale. It's worth $10-$12 but it's very hard to justify the $20 price tag for 8 hours of gameplay and the poor optimization. If steam had a neutral option for the recommendation, that's what I would have picked,…

So while I really hate leaving bad reviews, it's needed because whatever the experience here is completely disheveled by a broken product. There are invisible walls but they don't tell you it's because of your hose being too short and its just so laggy. Having finished the game in just under 3.5 hours; I can't exactly recommend the game. It is short, The choices don't really make an impact to the "story" either. The first mission was the most enjoyable being able to actually do meaningful tasks, but afterwords most of the game was just filler to ensure it took longer than steams 2 hour refund time. Downvoted solely for the ridiculous mandatory stealth section that's poorly made (some people literally spawning out of nowhere, near instant detection, foliage you can't see through not hiding you, etc.). Oh, yeah, sure, totally what I wanted in a game on the liquidators. Some random KGB mission. /sarcasm There are a ton of other problems, too. Chornobyl Liquidators is a narrative-driven simulation game focused on the real-world events following the CNPP disaster. Instead of treating the Zone as a playground, it centers on the people sent in to deal with the aftermath - facing invisible radiation, political pressure, and morally difficult decisions tied to a very real historical tragedy. Pros ✔️ Highlights overlooked heroes - I appreciated that it tries to focus on the people involved rather than sensationalizing the disaster itself.…

I'm from Canada. I went through grade 5 back in 2010, and at the time our school system was starting to fully embrace teaching kids about computers as multimedia machines. let me start with saying i love the premise and was looking forward to it since the first demo was being played by youtubers i reccomend you do not buy at this point in time, tutorial broke 75% of the time, picking up the shovel more often than not didnt place it in my inventory, which is an issue when the very next objective is to use the shovel to get the graphite chunks out of the way, also broke it the very first time by conecting the firetrucks to the pump before being given the objective…

The initial setting is kind of nice but after the fire fighting mission things take a rather dreadfull, boring turn. From starting out being a firefighter all of a sudden you end up being an escape room specialist. There's no action, just pointless back and forth between quest markers. The mechanic for shoveling was ass, it needs top be reworked. I also got chewed out by a General and that was it. Now that I went to go put in the Original early release it won't even load up. Unless they are doing something to change the game, I payed for that early release I liked it the way that it was. For now NO I would not recommend…

Not an engaging game and the negative reviews are definitely correct. I can't refund it because I got it as part of a humble bundle but I wish I could get the money and time back I spent on this game. The game is really boring and follows a narrow set track but you can't really understand what the game is trying to get you to do.
