While knowledge of the Chinese language is helpful, this could be a helpful tool for students looking to practice and refine their knowledge of Hanzi (Chinese written characters). As an additional bonus, when a character is completed there is floating text with the Pinyin pronunciation so you can say the word and…

Even though I wished the game would let me see the playfield during pausing, I have to admit: It's fun and it actually helps me learning the structure of compound characters! So... 我是汉语学生, 这很好笑
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting concept but almost impossible to play if you don't know the basic of chinese writting. A simple guide with those information would have been nice. The game gives you the definition and pronunciation of the character you make but it is so fast you can't take the time to read it. Unless you are learning or know chinese characters, wouldn't recomend.

Grind of speed, rng and luck, other than specific arrangements for some harder characters. Some Educational values. Low priced, worth the time and effort refreshing some of my Chinese after several decades from school.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game for those who want to practice some simplified chinese characters.I would have liked if there was somewhere to see all the characters used in this game to review them more slowly. But Nice !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chinatris is a mobile app-tier, somewhat shameless ripoff of Tetris. The difference (which should be enough to prevent any legal action from The Tetris Company, who have previously sued and won against those who rip off their game) is that the blocks are simple Chinese characters and you have to create "words" by matching characters together, which helps your score. So this is slightly educational, I suppose, if you're trying to learn a Chinese language. But ultimately this is a paid product…

The problem is that the fast-paced nature of TETRIS does not work very well in combination with the complexity of the language. 1. The game should have an option to automatically PAUSE when completing a new character. What is the benefit of displaying a comprehensive, and fairly interesting, dictionary entry for each character when there is NO TIME to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wow what a cool game. My only issue is the fact that some of the characters come together in ways that dont really make sense. alot of times it isnt following stroke order so it can be difficult to learn. HOWEVER the fact that the game is constantly teaching you about new characters is excellent. super relaxing. what a gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a weirdly fun game i like to play from time to time - wish i could review the words i made after though. overall, a relaxing and pretty game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →even if i'm bad at it, it's a fun and clever puzzle game based on an interesting concept, and i think you should try it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommend because there are very few games dedicated to Chinese characters, if any. Well done developer! However the mechanism of character construction needs MAJOR improvement. Many times it does not make any sense... Hope that we could see a patch/better version someday in the future! 谢谢制作人员,难得有汉字游戏,好评鼓励! 但是文字组合的算法需要改进,常常令人感到无所适从,因为跟平时写字的规律相悖。 期待改进,加油!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chinatris, developed by 仓鼠动力 and Args Studio and published by Gamirror Games, is a fascinating experiment that merges traditional Chinese linguistics with the universal appeal of puzzle gaming. At first glance, it seems like a simple twist on the falling-block formula pioneered by Tetris, but a few minutes of play reveal something entirely different. Instead of geometric blocks, the player is tasked with manipulating the building blocks of the Chinese written language—radicals and strokes—to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a super underrated game, I'm a fan of 2048 and I'm a fan of the Chinese language. This feels just as satisfying as 2048 but instead of just merging numbers your merging different strokes and Chinese characters. It tells you the definition of that character once you finish merging it. This game has a good amount of content. It's a hard game but not a super hard one, it takes me 5-10 times to clear a level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tranquil yet sense of urgency.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great way to wrap your mind around how the radicals are able to fit together. It is a chill and relaxing game, highly recommend for anyone who is trying to get more familiar with Chinese characters. If anything, I wish there were more levels and more variety in the background music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too unpredictable. If you want to put a 一 or 口 somewhere you have to take into account everything around it, because it will merge with something else most of the time. Many obscure characters that don't even have (English) dictionary entries, and make the game even more unpredictable. My suggestion: Add an easy difficulty where it is shown what will happen to a block and its surroundings if you drop it down in the column. Not worth the price, as this game only leads to pain. The music is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ OMFG this is innovative - How the chars combine into other chars is sometimes anti-pattern -- When quite a few achievements merely depend on being lucky enough to have some chars dropping in certain order, you know there is something completely wrong In short, innovative idea, poor implementation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting little game that is Tetris played with Chinese characters with a twist--they can combine to form new characters, and order and position matter!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →八月中秋山林凉, 风吹大地草枝摆。
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible. Many of the falling tiles are blank, you have to be lucky, although maybe if I understood Chinese it wouldn't be so hard? It has problems running both Proton in Steam and Glorius Eggrolls' Proton versions on Linux. It seems to be running worse as time goes by, at least I used to be able to start it. The concept is certainly interesting, but it just doesn't work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can get to about level 3 without knowing chinese. After that it gets harder for me. There's like 30 levels lol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For learners with a basic understanding of how characters are formed and stroke order, the tetris gameplay is pretty solid. However, if you’re new to Chinese, the game offers little guidance, making it difficult to approach without prior knowledge.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →logic in what makes a Chine word isn't consistent and doesn't recognize many Chinese characters. selectively follows stroke order and is also inconsistent in its logic. Game play feels very chaotic for Chinese native, good concept but execution gets 5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →很有创意的中文字俄罗斯方块,组合多变~很有想法~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know how to review this game other than that it is impossible. Unless you already know Chinese maybe. It definitely moves to fast to teach you anything.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →挺喜欢这个游戏的。努力支持和推广中文!有些关卡有难度(比如三个竖线合成一个山字,可能有点不合理。但是瑕不掩瑜)。无限模式也很有意思。整体来说,很喜欢。推荐!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✅ Interesting spin on the Tetris concept using Simplified Chinese characters. ❌ Tough luck to those who do not know Chinese writing. 太难了!A lot of times it depends on RNG of the blocks dropping. You expect the words to be formed in a certain way, but when it drops it forms other words that you did not want. Give us a setting for how fast the blocks drop. This software has been Hooligan-uncertified 😔
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept for puzzle solving but in Chinese words HAHA
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low-key, and quite relaxing. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/31929528-Toby%2527s-Gaming-Nook/]Curator
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very creative! support!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun. Helped me remember stroke order and learn some new characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say this game is both innovative and challenging! I love the background music. It's very relaxing, which is absolutely appropriate for the game. The amount of steam achievements will surely keep me playing for awhile... I hope they make another game similar to this but with 成语 (idioms.) I think this will be very useful for me. Great game! Highly recommended for those interested in 汉字 (Chinese characters.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FYI, I do know chinease, but, this game can still be weird and hard cuz it's kidda RNG-liked, you'll never what you're going to get next, luckily the game helps you by letting you know if you can complete a "Word" There's some weird spelling and words combination that i don't even know either It's Cheap, Tons of Achievements (7/10)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Game, if you are learning chinese it is funny difficult and simple at the same time ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and educational. But it needs an extra tab that shows the discovered words on the home screen. there is no way to read the one page definition right away although you can probably wiki search your achievement assuming that each worlds leads to an achievement
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really good game if you want to learn about Chinese characters! Unfortunately I am bad at Chinese characters and even worse at playing Tetris
