However, apparently the devs don't actually own their own game, and whoever does own the rights doesn't seem inclined to allow any updates or improvements. So it looks like this has devolved into a money grab, and as such, I can't recommend this game. If the situation ever changes for the better, I'll happily reconsider my review. For now, save your money and look elsewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was kinda scared to go into this one considering so many bad reviews but I don't know, I liked it. It's like House Flipper... okay not LIKE IT, but very similar. Except it's medieval times. Which I also like. I have yet to find a single complain about the game. I've only played a few quests so maybe in the future. Haven't had load issues, haven't had "being too dark" issues, Yeah sure the game is kinda just "click here do that", "clean this, clean that", which is uh... kinda the point of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: If you're looking to buy run down properties and renovate them a la House Flipper (another superb game) this is NOT going to satisfy that need. If you ARE looking to *build* houses or castles and decorate them with a somewhat limited range of medieval options, become a monarch of your own kingdom, and collect rent from your tenants to fund your projects, then this IS going to make you happy. It's graphically pretty, only a tiny bit clunky, has some varying locations to visit to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most frustrating building games ive ever played. Its decent at best. The parts don't snap together nicely. sometimes there's gaps, sometimes there's clipping. You cant build things like the models you clean, there's always ugly pillars in the walls in the castles. There is no floors for castles, there's always dividers in the floors. You cant build things like they have build on your own. Its very frustrating. They show you these big open homes and castles which you cant…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When this game was first released I absolutely loved it. Perhaps I still do?? The mechanics of actually building your own castle are a bit clunky at first, but once you figure out how to maneuver the pieces to your advantage, it can be quite fun building your own castle. My problem with the game is that it was abandoned without warning, by the developers 8 months after it was released. What a shame too. It had so much potential. It still does if only the Devs would just pick up where they left…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it on sale for $1.89. Definitely worth that price! That being said, the game is pretty clunky and limited, and I do not recommend paying more than $5 MAX. If you're into chore-core, there's about 100 games that I'd recommend over this one, which is too bad because the premise is good, just poorly executed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for about 6 hours. I honestly thought the game was really fun. Had a lot of nice things to do. I has quite a few houses, and I was in the middle of building a very large castle. I was close to done. My game froze suddenly. When I loaded back into my save everything was gone. The only thing left were the 2 npc buildings to the right. All of my houses, and castle were gone. I loaded in multiple times to see if this was an error, but the issue persisted. Just know if you play…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not the worst thing I have ever played, and I have to say my expectations were pretty low going in... but this game is underwhelming. It feels incomplete, with a small gameplay loop that quickly becomes tiresome and unrewarding, and cute little features that end up going nowhere. Contrary to the name, you do not flip castles in this game. The missions--of which there are only a handful--consist of walking around somebody's castle/dungeon/house picking up trash, scrubbing stains, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uglier, buggier and more simplified copy of House Flipper. I couldn't beat the first mission 'cause of some bug with trees lmao Game is unfinished and already abandoned but it's classic PlayWays's behavior.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoever did the 3D modelling and architecture did a really good job. As a scholar of everything medieval, I can say all the buildings are incredibly realistic. Everything from small cottages to multilevel stone structures. As far as the flexibility in building your own house in the game, there is a lot of variety in the modules, and the furniture, that you can use. Not sure about other comments saying it's very limited. If you're comparing it to House Flipper, then yeah it's going to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review contains spoilers. But to be fair you're not missing anything. Castle Flipper is a medieval building simulation game that shows "flipper" in its name, like "House Flipper". But it's not like that at all. Starting off somewhat strong. You'll receive a quest from the bulletin board, that's also were your adventure starts. The customer asks of you... you know, you the king. Or "so-called king". No riches and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ yet! Speaking of female dogs; ONLY kings, as if there are no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can only play it so many times before it gets kind of repetitive. It seems the developers have abandoned this game. It hasn’t been updated since 2021. it sucks because this game had a lot of potential to be up there with games such as house flipper. you can only do so much before it gets boring, mechanics don’t really get explained well after the main quests, and there’s a lot of glitches and bugs all around that I don’t think will ever be patched. I hope one day the devs can come back to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is another game that had some good potential but got thoroughly abandoned by the developers. Does it work? Technically, yes. Does it work well? No, not at all. I'd recommend not wasting your money on this one, it'll be nothing but a huge waste of money and a disappointment.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is incomplete. Any attempt to build a realistic castle will lead to disappointment as most blocks don't fit together. Stick with medieval engineers if you want to build castles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a really hard decision to recommend or not. There is a lot to like, and I have spent a lot of hours on it. The parts that are good are very, very good - visuals, music, even the UI which has a bit of a learning curve but is usually pretty slick. The quest part is great if you like that sort of game, taking quests to earn money and resources to build up your own kingdom. To be honest I enjoyed the game until right around the "no refund" point. I was happily running around medieval…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At this point in time. I have to say this game has been abandoned by developers. Last update was in Dec. 21. Prior to that was updating about every 2 months. Was hoping they would stick with it and more content would be added. Instead they abandoned game and instead try to push other games (as a bundle) on people in order to still make money off a dead game. I would recommend that people only buy this at a deep discount. Definitely not worth $19.00 full price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game under the impression it would be a nice, relaxing solo game to play. It has caused me so much stress that I just cannot recommend it. The game glitches during missions and while at your 'land' during the building process. I had to completely delete an entire world with all its progress because there was a glitch that made it appear that I was at the start of the game when I wasn't. In the new world, I had just completed re-doing missions and re-building my initial house. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love castles. Was brainless fun for a bit untill I got to the build your own castle and town bit. Moving crates is annoying. hammering nails takes ages. Could'nt get castle walls to line up at all, so just gave up and place 50 castle foundations for the quest. I could'nt find a way to remove garden foundations, so that part of my town is now useless. xD If you build out from a rented out house to fx. get houses exactly 1 foundation apart, the new house will now count as together…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a nightmare. Everything about it is terrible. First from the fact that it's dark and there is no way to adjust the brightness, so I need to use the dinky little torch. Which! I can't use with any other tool. Speaking of the other tools, they are in the very unhelpful tab button, which does not toggle and is the slowest thing to open up and use. Snails breed faster than it takes to select a tool. Each one feeling like a mistake to even use. There is no incentive to make things look…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game. I'm a huge fan of House Flipper and other games in which you clean up and build, decorating and upgrading. This is a poor version of that. It has a great many bugs and terrible lag. I've had to restart the game several times to reset due to a bug. I've only played for 7 hours and am pretty unhappy with it. Too. Many. Bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is just ok honestly, on sale I'd recommend giving it a try but this isn't as fun and addicting as something like House Flipper or any other simulator I played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was really rough. There is potential but its just really lack luster. Do not get this game thinking this is medival style House flipper because it really isn't. Game can be super clunky at times but runs fine. Game over all just makes you wish there was more to it then just doing asset lego pieces all the time. Not worth the Full price if even at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought it cause it was on sale for 94 cents so worst case Im out less than a dollar. I cannot get the game to pass the loading second loading screen. So its not even worth 94 cents.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not as exciting as it looked to be from the video trailer and photos on the Store Page. You spend most of your time doing missions which are boring "busy work". You clean up trash, destroy unwanted objects like tree stumps and broken carts, chop down trees, and repair objects like broken chairs and fences. Some missions have a treasure chest or two to help boost your gold. Once you get going, you start building houses to rent out, and eventually move on to building and/or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty basic "Pick up trash, clean this, repair that"-kind of game. Still fun though. I wouldn't recommend getting it at full price tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Potential, yet disapointing. was hoping to play this after "house flipper" as a chill game of the couch with a controller. This game has no controller support, even the "official" layout is unplayable so its a no from me. Gameplay wise seems great and after the first 3 missions can see thee is a lot more exploration, building and construction compared to H.F. which is nice, also some type of settlement develpment(?) (not sure as i didnt get far enough) In simple words, if controller support…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand Castle Flipper, and on paper, it should work. It, like the many, many other games in its genre, is a cleaning, building, and repairing simulator. You play as a peasant - or lord? the titles here don’t make much sense - who is good at renovating and building. You’re hired to renovate and build a variety of buildings, moving into more and more complex buildings until you are ultimately building castles for yourself and your serfs tenants. On paper, this formula is great. People love…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest I am a little disappointed. The instructions are limited i had to go into options to read about some of the controls. The cleaning moving is awful compared to house flipper this game comes up lacking in that department. I found some places too dark to see anything even with my torch and there were very few quests. None of the furniture is labeled and and i had no idea how to sow grass seeds till I looked it up. They still have a lot of work to do on the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too buggy. Cant build floor in random places. Music always loud when game starts despite saving settings previous round. Many more issues. Needs work! I really enjoy what this game could be if things are added and fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I initially avoided this game due to all the negative reviews, but since it was at a discount, I decided to pick it up, and I'm glad I did. I liked it from the first hour or so but I wanted to make sure I gave it a few more hours before deciding to review it. Its a very entertaining and immersive game, and the architecture is extremely accurate to the time period. It does have some bugs and quirks that could use some ironing out. This game would be elevated so much more if they allowed Steam…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pc version is a blast, ps4 however is completely unplayable due to bugs and crashes. there are a few things that could make this game more enjoyable such as more building options/ decorations (horizontal beams, curved roofs, stain glass windows etc.) and bigger rugs. you can't build the houses you see in the different quests which is sad. decorating a large scale building looks silly when you only have 4 foot rugs... other than that, not a bad game at all. very cozy and great for killing time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty bad. It could be awesome but there is hardly any decor and nothing much you can build.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Undeniably underwhelming in nearly every expectation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty bleh. All things considered. Everything is choppy. Even 90fps feels like 30. The movement is just super jittery. The tutorial is awful. It almost never explains anything. It just tells you to do something and forces you to figure it out. Unlocking furniture is weird and involves doing literal captcha style puzzles. Progression is mostly related to your own land; which is also terribly explained. "Go here to get resources" meanwhile, that place doesn't exist yet. The controls are awful.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To put it simply it's Buggy, and feels unfinished at best. None of the bugs cause the game to crash (in my experience) however they mess with the game and slow it down.... For instance when you build a house and then rent it... sooner or later the house spawns furniture you didn't place that is broken.... it comes to the point where there are 3 or more tables or stools sitting in the building (besides what you put in there) and you have to unrent it to get rid of the furniture. Not to mention…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like HouseFlipper, you definitly love to play CastleFlipper. Lots of Treasures awaiting in game, build your own house or castle and give your tenants a house to rent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's waaaaay too many bugs and weird glitches for me to like this game. There's not a lot of content either. I finished all but the very last 'quest' (to become king), and the only reason I didn't complete that is I couldn't for the life of me get the game to recognize my rental house as complete. I searched to find other people who had the same issue, but was unable to figure out why the house I built wasn't considered 'ready' even with all the walls, floors, and roof pieces completed,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →from what i learned the game is not owned by the ones that make it but by the publishers the game might as well be dead it was fun at first but no updates in a long time and there is a lot of problems if the true owners get the rights to there OWN PECKING GAME and add more jobs and more things to do i will most likely change this revue but right now I can't remind this game like i sayed its a dead game the idea is fun and if they brot the made previts of the game into the player's city were you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy enough to 100% However it does feel a bit like a cash grab for house flipper.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →creates a DLC that helps improve the game by 2 % but hasn't fixed or updated the game since the year it came out in 2021. Highly suggest not wasting the money, could've been such a good game. I wanted to love this game and was extremely excited for it to come out because the concept was extremely intriguing. only to have it completely abandoned by the Dev's to create new games. After only updating it maybe 3-4 times since it was released then completely abandoning it. I will never purchase…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played 25 minutes, spent the entire time lagging through the roof on low graphics. I have no issues on any other games graphics wise. Evenutally the lag became so severe that it crashed the game when the first level finished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn't recommend this for full price, but at the 90% discount I paid for it, there's a lot to like here. There is a home area you get to build up and make your own, and separate areas you go to for missions. The missions are typical "house flipper" types, but with a medieval settings. I've found them fun and haven't encountered any bugs. My only negative so far is that you can't save during one of these missions. As a busy Dad, I don't like losing all my progress if I have to leave in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A relaxing game you can play leisurely, but lacks a lot of polish and some end-game content feels unfinished. The atmosphere is pretty good, and relaxing. I like the music in this game. It goes really well with the leisure pace of the game. For the first half of the game you will spend a lot of it just cleaning up other properties and castles. You gain materials that you can use and the materials in the early part of the game really help with building out your ability to rent our properties to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What can I say but don't buy. This game got boring very quickly, graphically it's not great and replayability is boring and non existent. I love a good flipper/builder game, but this certainly isn't it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a reasonable little game but it lacks any sort of overall goal or soul. Feels like a half-baked house flipper clone. Lots of very clunky mechanics. Hidden achievements are all just a grindfest.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are janky and the progress keeps getting stuck. Gameplay is not that intuitive
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game in the beginning and it's fun to read the notes to get more of a story but after all the missions are finished, which are around 12 missions, it becomes very repetitive, later on you eventually get more but even with that the missions in that part are very similar. Another frustration I had with this game was that the building system for castles is very annoying, it's annoying because you have to mix and match house and castle types of building to get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like building houses, settlement managing and cleaning stuff up, then you may enjoy this game. HOWEVER I would not recommend buying it at full price, I got it on sale in a bundle and the amount of content just is not worth 20 bucks. I've 100%ed the game in just 16 hours, although you could definitely spend a lot more time decorating and filling in the entire space with houses. There are many small bugs and all of the ones I googled have been in the game for 4 years, I also saw the devs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game in a bonus pack to get a discount on another one and kinda laughed about it. But I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's a bit glitchy at times, but not many games can top off wanting to play 5 hours straight after launching it. Simple and entertaining enough, it's a YES from me!

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if your a fan of mindless cleaning for relaxing like 'Viscera' or enjoy building houses and filling out rooms with furniture like 'The Sims'... this is a great game which i really enjoyed Playing through the quests was very fun too, if you take the time to read the notes and hidden stories within their pages
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it when it's on sale and it's cheaper than a movie and a blind date.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/7/23: Loads of quests with lots of fun. The custom building is super fun too. Its a nice mindless relaxing game, that makes the time fly by. Totally worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It seems as if the developers abandoned the game, missions are short, and no new update. it has the potential to be a good game, but they just gave up and made a quick copy for cash grab.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought it on sale for $1.89, and I feel like I got my money's worth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! 7/10 stars! Worth $10 easy. Past that is subjective per person. Cons- not many missions clunky castle building sound effects music Pros- graphics sandbox house building variety of missions story / lore open building even after you become king.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the building possibilities and I keep coming back just for that. But then I leave the game, again, because I hate the tedium of cleaning the houses, collecting rent , repairing furniture that won't even fit in the houses and lugging boxes of logs, rocks, etc. one at a time to cart. I just want to build...... Fixes - get rid of the repairing all together. Let us carry more than one box at a time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I very much tried to like this game. It has so much potential but fails short. 1) First off, there is a weird red tint over the building UI so it is extremely hard to see what the items you are building are. What makes it worse is you don't get much resources back when destroying things so trying to build and figure things out is frustrating. 2) The settings and options has very minimal settings. There isn't even options to change the volume of music and sound effects. 3) It is buggy. Not to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it was fun at first, this has little replayability and I cannot get back to playing this. This is my own personal review, I've played similar games before but this one ended being disappointing The game is pretty much abandoned, the publisher is the one that holds the rights to this and controls whether there's an update, and the last one was in 2021. You go to their page and they're still publishing games, ignoring the problems and complaints of this one. This sounds great! My 3 points…
