Once again, "Jorub Team" is trying to prey on adults' nostalgia and sell them a broken version of a childhood game. Enough already. It's time to forget and let go — childhood won't return, and neither will the old thrills of a new game. Akella made a bunch of games and sold them under different names: 1. Sea Dogs 2. Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales 4. Corsairs: Legend is back 5. City of Abandoned Ships 6.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took only a few minutes to realize this was just a reskin of the previous game but somehow it managed to look and feel even worse. Even the TUTORIAL was the same! IT'S THE SAME GAME! THEY'RE ALL THE SAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME! THIS IS A SCAM! Even mentioning Bannerlord or Sid Meier's Pirates in the same ROOM as a copy of this game should be considered corruption and deceit of the highest order.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is bugged so much it wont even launch properly. tried every trick in the book to get it to launch but everytime it freezes and will not respond.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So its a reskin of Caribbean Legend, but without manual aim for ship canons? Cool, its like a Bannerlord without siege battles. Pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game isn't even 1 year old, and the developer has already released a DLC in May and announced another one. The game isn't finished yet, but it's not in Early Access either (which makes me wonder: why?). I can't recommend it because of this. Come back in 4 or 5 years. Hopefully, the game will be "finished" by then, and they'll have released 15, 20, or 30 DLCs, so you can get everything together at a discount.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is buggy and the mechanics are very hard to get your head around, I loved sea dogs back in the day but this just dont feel like it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Carribean Legend: Age of Pirates background experience: First of all, I played their more older and previous series, the "City of Abandoned Ships", about 14 years ago or so. I do not know anything regarding the direct previous "Carribean Legend" from 2024, but "Sea Dogs: To Each His Own" is what I played as well recently, about 4 years ago. _______ Basic review and gameplay of the game without comparison first of all: You have your character, you have your ship, you have a level up system,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I have given this a thumbs down, I am still going to recommend the game for those who know what they're buying outright. If you played Sea Dogs: To each his own. This is the same exact game, except with tons of community input, developer additions, and a number of other additions. If you loved TEHO, then this will be right up your alley. However, if you never played TEHO, and you're coming from pirate themed games like AC4, Sea of thieves, and Sid Meier's Pirates. Stay far away from this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think comparing this to "sid meiers pirates meets bannerlord" isn't exactly accurate. To me it really hits the vibe of a pirate version of games like morrowind and kenshi. You truly are just some guy in a brutal world that will not hold your hand. And I feel like being forced to think and find your own way in the world and face the consequences of actions and mistakes, makes it feel like more of a true pirate game than things like sea of thieves. Also similar to morrowind and kenshi, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its NOT a bad game. I spent around 300 hours playing so I think the game did its job of entertaining me well enough. The reason I could not recommend this game in good conscience to a complete stranger is that most of the time when I was playing I felt I was working as a underpaid play tester rather than a regular joe trying to have fun playing a pirate themed game. The game is fun most of the time, at least for me, WHEN ITS WORKING AS INTENDED. Sure it took a bit of time to learn the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Within a few hours after release, I found myself completely lost in the game for 8 hours straight. I can’t say that during that time I managed to check out every single change, since my favorite part of the game has always been the slow start, but I got that nostalgic feeling I used to have with previous iterations of the series — when you launch the game for 30 minutes and come back hours later. I’ve been a fan of the series for decades now, so here’s the TL;DR version of my review: - This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't understand what this game is supposed to do better or differnt from carribean legend? obvious cash grab, and the quests, combat and everything about it in general is janky as hell
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredible. Also this game is a criminal offense against my blood pressure. 1. A man told me to meet him “beneath the city,” as he has something important to tell me, so naturally I spend 45 minutes searching prisons and dungeons before discovering a random trapdoor hidden behind a cabbage crate in Saint John’s. Then that same man tried to murder me in a tunnel for lols. 2. Then another Captain hunted me across the Caribbean in a British ship despite me ALSO sailing under the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A remaster of the very old pirate sim series , nothing came close ever since.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is hot garbage, questing is just as bad, and this game still needs work. Plays like a early access game, and no its no bannerlords.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been nothing but frustrating and confusing, I tried to give it a chance because "Bannerlord + Sid Meier's Pirates" sounds amazIng but its just a weird and frustrating rpg akin to morrowind. Apparently its just a reuploaded game of something that already existed 10+ years ago and it really shows in the poor graphics and unintuitive control. The most frustrating part is trying to get through the "tutorial" takes you longer than 2 hours just to figure out what to do, and by that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You start to weak to do anything, no one is offering quests, you have to spend any gold you borrow just to fix your ship and hire crew, npcs like skeletons usually have 3 health potions and poison making them a slog to fight, even a skllled ship crew couldnt hit the broad side of a barn even at point blank rang, only your guns break mid fight so i cant even finish any fight i start. im struggling to find the fun here :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEWARE!!!!!! This game is extremely addictive. The core gameplay loop is simple. The progression is rewarding. Overall, 8/10. Some polish is still needed, and some quests are VERY frustrating. But then again, it is worth it. Straight up one of the best if not THE best pirate sim there is. So get your beverage of choice and find out whether or not the pirate life is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game bug most of the issue present in the closed beta havent been addressed...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Words can't describe just how disgustingly poorly made this game is. It’s one of those games you stumble upon once every 5–7 years, the kind that, at some point, makes you wonder if that was actually the intention: to deliberately create a game so awful that, at literally every stage, you’re stunned that anyone would even think of releasing it for real money. The tutorial for the sole story character (when the ship’s mechanics aren’t available yet and you’re just running around on land) is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always liked the City of Abandoned Ships and this is a good rework of the game. It still needs a lot of bugfixing but i want to support the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very confusing game and it doesnt seem to work properly on the naval combat, load the weapons and cannons but i cant fire then no matter what i press, lit just sitting ducks in the sea awaiting your enemies to destroy you no thank you. also hate the fact that only one character has a story mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just dreadful in every regard. been playing for hours - still not reached a boat. Buggy, crashy, boring quests, awful combat, no clear rules on the sneak system
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good day, I enjoy pirate and sailing games. This, at first, looked to be an immersive pirate RPG. I soon realized, at about hour six, that its an unnecessarily difficult, tedious, slow game that barely rewards effort. The combat is unfun, on land. The sea combat is dragging, with an elongated time before your crew can even handle anything. There's virtually no tutorial. Until there's a massive change to assist you in showing you how to earn income, develop reputation and build your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I would like to give this a thumbs up and say it's recommended I just can't at this time. The game needs more time to cook. You don't even start the game with a map to figure out where you are supposed to go. It's stupid crap like that which affects my review. Devs you need to add some QoL features to make this more accessible and enjoyable to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I highly recommend it, it's a good remaster of the original game. The QoL improvements make a nice difference and add a bit of a modern touch to the classic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The enhanced sandbox features are tempting. However, it is missing too many QOL features from it's sister game "Caribbean Legend" for a pleasant experience. It feels like a game straight out of the early 2000s. I feel like this should have better been a major DLC for Caribbean Legend than a standalone game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat was sluggish at best. It provides tutorials but doesn't really explain what you should go out and focus on/do. It had one save file and since it auto boards I was thrust into boarding my first battle without any preparation. I spawned in on the other ship surrounded by 3 people and all I could do was load that save file. The graphics are also horrendous, which I could forgive if the pictures didn't make it appear to have far better graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is rough, clunky, janky, unforgiving, and frustrating at times. If you're looking for a modern, smooth-sailing gaming experience look elsewhere. However, if you're willing to overlook its flaws, and know what you are signing up with this game, it can hook you into a rewarding pirate adventure sandbox for many hours, where you get to create your own voyage through Caribbean. No one said a pirate's life is easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very hard game with a steep learning curve… until you find a way to print money in it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As it stands this is more buggy than the original. At random, quest characters can't talk, Item/crew will stop working. On average expect something going wrong every 3 min. And save accordingly. It's not a ready product
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 out of 10, would plunder the booty again. A definite must-have for fans of the Sea Dogs series and Caribbean Legend in particular!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too little, too soon.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. Wanted to try it because it looks like the old Pirates of the Carribean that I loved. But CL:AoP is so poorly done, it was nothing but frustrating. I have nothing good to say. Definitely cannot recommend..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Submitted for refund. There's too much jank. The lack of handholding would be fine anything was intuitive, or the UI made sense. But you're basically thrown out there with no money or clue on what to do and navigating the UI is a pain. Started on land, looted a couple houses but couldn't figure out how to sell any of the loot. Went to sea for the first time, struggled through the UI to find the world map. Started sailing, passenger wants to talk to me, which then put me on a empty boat deck…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →same skin over an old game. made worse. waste of time and money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far, this is the most complete and smoothest iteration of the series (disregarding mods). Although this is more or less a graphical overhaul of Sea Dogs: City of Abandoned Ships, it does come with QoL and stability improvements, and all in all seems less clunky. Veterans of the series will have little hassle getting into it, while for a newcomer it might be a little overwhelming at the beginning. If you start with any other character than Blood, you are thrown into the world without a…

unlabelledView post →The game is EXTREMELY hard for new franchise players and contains lots of glitches. Let me detail them one by one. 1. Enemies are not scaled to difficulty. One heavy swing from an enemy will kill you 100%. It does have a hint on how to avoid it but the problem is the game was way too fast. You can slow it down but that mechanic is glitchy, which leads to point 2. 2. Glitch 1 - You can reduce the speed to 0.5x BEFORE the combat/battle, but as soon as battle starts or you are in combat mode, it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is based on my personal circumstance where I played the crap out of the 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean game when I was a kid without knowing that there was a whole series of games under a different title. So If like me you played the old POTC game and enjoyed it, then I wholeheartedly recommend this one. The engine is the same, so many of the animations and locations will seem familiar, and it even shares some of the same nostalgic music cues but it is a vast improvement with much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press "I" to open inventory and equip a weapon, pressing "I" does nothing. Game immediately lunges you into a fight sequence where you you learn how to fight. Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard without a sword. Restarted the game twice, checked the instructions... nothing. I was really hoping to relive a childhood memory of playing the original Pirates of the Caribbean game as Nathaniel Hawk, think this shamble of a game has tainted that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →odd controls, ancient graphics, unsatisfying difficult combat. the story intro alone is too hard at normal difficulty. Deal 4 damage, take 48 damage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like it so much, but this game is pure euro-jank, just like all it's predecessors in the series. It's not really sandbox, no matter what it says - funnels you into lame quests at points far before you could possibly be ready for them. The combat is garbage. The ship sailing parts are kind of cool, but the rest of this game was designed by a toddler. A non-english-speaking toddler.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this back when it wasn’t even a remake yet, so launched it mostly out of curiosity. ended up sticking way longer than expected. weird feeling — everything feels familiar but also kinda new There are rough edges, yeah but i don’t really see them as negatives, more like part of the same vibe it always had Overall, didn’t expect to get pulled back in like this, BUT here we are
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recomed it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the controls are so frustating
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →City of Abandoned Ships finally got a remaster… Unfortunately, it’s long overdue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only bought this one to play as the female protagonist because in the normal game she is disabled or not in the game. When I played I noticed that the graphics, controls and all different is, like older and more difficult. There were also no quest markers, No clue where to go and such. The Original one was better and more organised thats for sure. Still hoping that the female character is being added to the base game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I imagine if you like Kenshi, youd likely like this game. I did not like Kenshi.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A low effort re-release of Age of Pirates 2 with nothing to distinguish, or improve the original.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Real waste, I felt like I was entering an old game. This is a mockery of the fans of this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very unforgiving game and that's fine by me. It's just there are game breaking bugs and no auto save. Unbearable frustrating. Don't buy this unless you want to lose your hair or are a masochist
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since Sid Meier's Pirates! is one of my all-time favorite computer games, this title seemed promising. After all, it had everything Pirates! had -- open world exploration, ship combat, boarding combat, quests, crew management. How did it go so wrong? Well, first up is the tutorial/prologue. It goes on FOREVER, taking an hour or more to complete and it doesn't even explain the game mechanics well, it skips so much. In fact so much of the game you need to figure out on your own. And the…

As Im writing this review the current state of the game is that its a "remaster" of Age of pirates 2 : City of abandoned ships. I would say it has gotten a lot of qoL improvements. The devs are actively fixing bugs and updating the game, they are working towards turning it into a full remake of Age of pirates 2 : City of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was in Russian with no apparent setting to change it to English.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That game was build to make you life more complicated. I just wanted to spend some time and free my mind from daily routine, but this game only can make you angry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hot Garbage, don't waste your money. I've rarely seen a game so poorly executed from the UI to the gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far as pirate games go this one stand head and shoulders above most of the ones that I have played, only being beaten out by the undefeated champs AC Black Flag and Sid Meier's Pirates! Caribbean is a remake/remaster of Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned ships. I have never played any of the original Age of Pirate games or Sea Dogs so I can't attest as to how this fares against those games. Nevertheless it is solid. Pros: -A world well sized for what it's trying to be i.e. there is always…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not to be mean... but I just couldn't get into it. I want to love it. I want a new favorite pirate game, but this is not going to be it. 1. I didn't like the sword play. Maybe I could get better at it but it just felt bad to me. 2. Sea Battles were SLOOOOW and the enemy AI was not the best. You can speed up time but still I didn't love it. In the video I linked, I realize I was having a misunderstanding about the wind direction, which was affecting my movement at the end. BUT, the enemy AI…
