What people are saying
Mixed reception: praised for atmosphere and combat, but criticized for bugs and unpolished design.
Many players praise the game's cyberpunk atmosphere, philosophical story, and satisfying combat. R3 calls it a fresh and intense tactical shooter with satisfying combat and smart level design, while R8 describes it as a uniquely philosophical cyberpunk journey. R21 notes the atmospheric blend of sci-fi and fantasy with a surprisingly deep philosophical story. [3][8][21]
However, many criticize the game as unfinished, buggy, and poorly designed. R28 calls it 100% without a doubt the worst game I have ever played, and R29 says "This is actually the worst fking game ive ever played." R31 complains about "glunky" mechanics and bugs, while R32 warns "Poor graphics, no voice acting, awful font choice." [28][29][31][32]

60 of 197 · most liked firstOther reviews will tell you this "game" is bad. They are right. But instead of repeating that, let me tell you my experience: You start this up and get the option to start a new game or quit (Quitting is the right choice here). No Settings. There are settings in game but not here. You start a new game and get some unformatted text in default font. Not a good sign. It dumps you in some run-of-the-mill run-down back-alley and tells you to talk to the bartender. Ok. Movement is clunky and the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the worst games I've ever played. You should get payed to play it instead of buying it. This studio really never made a good game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not sure how this game has positive reviews. Poor graphics, no voice acting, awful font choice. Lucky i got it really cheap because 33.50 is a scam. DO NOT BUY.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The type of game they give you with "Random steam keys" on G2A. Small studio but not really good game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. Attacking just doesn't work smoothly. The mechanics are glunky. Story is really weak and confusing. Some places you fall and have to slowly walk all the way back and hope you are not attacked. So many bugs. You can't progress in the game without "help." Don't waste your time or money on this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very bad game, for 40 euro, but I got it from g2a random keys for like 1 euro. This game feels verry unpolished, and boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like an alpha version of a really bad game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand that this is a game for geniuses of thought. At every turn, it's unclear where to go and what to do. The controls can be found in the Steam discussions, but they are not included in the game. In short, I highly recommend this game to geniuses with strong nerves.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m just a gamer who wasted six hours on The Divine Invasion and now kinda regrets it. 💀 The whole “epic heavenly war” idea sounds cool on paper, but in practice it’s just a lot of cutscenes that drag on forever and combat that feels like button‑mashing with extra steps. The angels look amazing, sure, but after the third boss that just spams the same glowing beam attack, the aesthetic loses its magic. The story tries to be deep and philosophical, but it ends up feeling like a thesaurus dropped…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand why this game is selling so expensively. I can't recommend it, there are too many unbalanced graphics that are not pleasant to the eyes, the game seems to be raw, the hitboxes don't work, the fighting game is not finalized, the optimization itself is weak. maybe optimization updates will be released in the future and it will be possible to play it somehow, but not now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cyberpunk fighting in which we will feel like a bounty hunter hired by mysterious customers from the distant future. In this world, our fist power is combined with the power of technology, and every battle is not only a test of skill, but also a reflection of the struggle to survive in a world plagued by vice and progress. Dynamic fights that include both traditional hand-to-hand combat techniques and unique cybernetic abilities will add fun to our stay in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is complete and utter trash. I have a penchant for odd games but the combat in this game is so bad and impossible to do without being hit for ridiculous damage with no way to heal. Really started showing in mission 5 where you had to overcome swamps of enemies in rooms with night vision. the dodging isn't straight and frequently dodged me back into enemies. Don't buy this slop gang

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game thrown together, a wooden character, broken enemy AI, no real story or plot to speak of, just linear shooting and skipping cringy, incoherent dialogues. It might pass as a school project, but not as a serious one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Divine Invasion is a fresh and intense tactical shooter with satisfying combat and smart level design. Its atmospheric visuals and strategic pacing keep each run engaging. I recommend it for players who love tight mechanics, tactical decisions, and replayable action that rewards skill and adaptation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game left me with an extremely negative impression. Firstly, the plot seems rather confusing and insufficiently elaborated, which makes it difficult to immerse oneself and understand the events. Secondly, the graphics and design of the levels look outdated and sloppily executed, which negatively affects the overall perception.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a 3D action game set in a cyberpunk setting. We join the fight between humans and robots on the side of the robots and try to solve a complex case in order to restore justice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All style, no substance clunky and pretentious.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Ugly, boring, and a waste of time. Avoid!" This game is a disaster. The graphics are terrible, the gameplay is repetitive and uninspired, and the story is nonexistent. I regret every minute I spent playing this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Divine Invasion is a stylish cyberpunk action-adventure with a dark, immersive atmosphere and a thought-provoking narrative. You play as a mercenary investigating stolen historical artifacts, uncovering a conspiracy that challenges the very nature of good and evil. The gameplay blends exploration, document hunting, and intense melee combat with a composite sword — featuring dodges, blocks, and skill combos. The visuals mix neon-lit streets with futuristic labs, while the synth-heavy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game stands out with its ambitious plot and original concept of blending genres, but the execution often falls short. If you're willing to overlook technical imperfections and some narrative vagueness for the sake of a unique atmosphere and deep philosophical component, it might be of interest. Otherwise, gameplay issues and the presence of bugs could be a significant obstacle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A uniquely philosophical cyberpunk journey blend of deep themes with satisfying melee combat creates a truly immersive and thought-provoking experience

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game still looks unfinished. the graphics in the game are not bad, but the most annoying thing about it is the inconvenient interface. The game can only be purchased with a 90% discount, because it is no longer at the development stage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →P00p. straight from the big hole in the sky onto Switzerland or some such wackery
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there is no healing option, you die you restart level, no checkpoints, the controls feel super dated and not fun to control, there are no waypoints telling you where to go even tho the levels are super straight forward i still like i got lost, reviews are botted 100%, feels like a rushed asset flip of a game. no sound, text goes away way to damn to read, overall a very bad game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a propulsive, fun read, try Game Players of Titan or A Maze of Death. If you want a challenging read, try his final loose trilogy of VALIS, The Divine Invasion and The Transmigration of Timothy Archer. If you want your brain and your heart broken at the same time, A Scanner Darkly.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Confusing map design. Can't move while swinging your sword. Can just spam the third ability every 6 seconds to mop up any enemies. Confusing story you simply cannot follow. None of the levels relate to each other or have any reason; for example, I went from speaking to an angel about some holy crusade to being sent to a hovercar driving section? I simply cannot recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked reading the VERY WELL translated interactions. 3. The Slo-Mo functionality (which can not be deactivated after it is engaged once) was the pinnacle of the game. I also liked how the levels were completely unrelated to each other.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice indie shooter with good pacing and responsive controls. Scratches that classic sci-fi action itch nicely.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool mix of cyberpunk and philosophical sci-fi. Exploring neon streets and solving bizarre cases is a vibe!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Divine Invasion The game is decent, but it didn't really appeal to me—it just wasn't my style or pace; it turned out not to be the game for me. Still, in principle, it's an okay game—maybe a 5/10. I didn't care for it much—just not my style—but overall it's passable; the cyberpunk style is alright.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun and has become one of my favorites! The gameplay is smooth, the graphics are impressive, and the challenges keep things interesting. I enjoy every session and highly recommend giving it a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A mind-bending sci-fi masterpiece! It brilliantly blends religion and reality. A must-read!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deep plot in cyberpunk! Sword fighting and stealth, philosophical questions about good and evil. Addictive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's overloaded with philosophy, the gameplay is sluggish, and the mix of genres is confusing. It didn't grab me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid game. Definitely got some Cyberpunk and Prey vibes from it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved The Divine Invasion! The mix of sci‑fi, mysticism, and philosophy creates a really unique atmosphere. The combat is dynamic, and the slow‑motion skill adds a cool tactical twist. The story kept me hooked — I was curious to uncover what’s real and what’s illusion. Definitely worth a try if you like thought‑provoking adventures! 😊
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game really makes you think. And the battles are good, too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"That unreleased addition to Cyberpunk 2077." You can take it and play at a discount)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not gonna lie this has a really cool cyberpunk feel. The controls are a little wonky but hey I bought it on sale and don't regret it just buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The rwg team gives more than a year's worth of review on this topic, but overall the jump is a spacebar
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun sci-fi adventure with a cool cyberpunk atmosphere. The combat is enjoyable the locations are interesting and the soundtrack fits the game well. Worth playing if you like story-driven action games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hot Garbage not worth 2.56 that I paid for it. requesting a refund for the garbage games. I wouldn't even take this for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a cyber headhunter, you have to progress through various levels and fight enemies. Sometimes you don’t need to go into a direct battle and use a stealth approach instead. During combat, the protagonist can use various skills.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting game with cyberpunk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Divine Invasion captivates with its unique blend of a dark, neon-lit metropolis and a virtual fantasy MMORPG. The plot intrigues with a deep, philosophical mystery about the substitution of Good and Evil. Due to lore restrictions on firearms, the player must master advanced stealth with a composite sword. Unlike the fast-paced Bright Memory, the emphasis here is on intellectual subtext and analysis of the protagonist's actions.
