But I'm here to tell you otherwise. If you like completing missions and getting a feel of progression in games then this game isn't for you. However, if you don't mind one of those games where you're constantly playing levels repeatedly, over and over then this game is for you. The gameplay is about unlocking "a planet" which is another term for a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really didn't do it for me. Controller had to be all remapped, and menus were still inconsistent. The graphics kept slowing down to a crawl everytime I left the inside of a crate. I had to lower graphic settings, just to play at all. When the gravity shifted, the controls fell apart (partly with all the graphical lag), and it was just frustrating. The ability to see what you were doing was always being blocked by things, and crates often were black like the shadows and eclipsed by some glowing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little platformer. Enjoyed my time messing around on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cargo Commander is a small action packed rogue-like/puzzle platformer. You are a garbage collector thrown into space. You have a mechanical arm tool which can smash things, throw nails, bombs etc. You have to grab containers by using your magnet, then smash and loot. There are a couple of enemies around your ship. Time to time yo find some improvements for your mech arm. It is possible to travel from a space secto to another, but you have a limited number of sector passes, so you must grab a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The taunt says and puts F*** Y** on the screen. No warning that this is a mature game or anything. My young son was watching me learn to play a new game. What use does that have in the game. I thought this was a platformer rouge-lite type game on the same level as Spelunky or maybe Duskers. Uncalled for vulgarity ruins good games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cargo Commander seemed like a great game at first impression, but after playing it for a short bit I had already seen everything the game had to offer and got dissapointed quickly. Pro's Interesting mechanic with the whole zero gravity effect and the whole world is turning on itself. Cons It's a single player game, but without any storyline or campaign mode. You just unlock random levels which are really not all that different You're on a short timeframe because a level "collapses" after a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun, challenging and dirt cheap. At the regular price the game is a great deal and if it is on sale there is no reason to not add this to your STEAM library. Many hear "rogue-like" and assume this game has an ultra steep learning curve and requires some vast esoteric knowledge, but it is honestly easy to pick up and your skill should increase quickly after an hour or two of play. You enter a Sector with ANY name you choose (fair warning: there is no censorship) and each…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and repetative. The idea is interesting but it's not well enough made to get a positive review
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A roguelite 2D platformer with a loving dad protagonist working in remote sectors of the universe for an evil corp, a cozy soundtrack, and the loneliness of space. While the game is simple, having 4 weapons and a few enemy types, the procedurally generated infinite sectors and leaderboards adds a great deal of replayability. Sectors also have a unique assortment of collectible cargo that ranks up the Cargo Commander, permanently unlocking upgrades and game modes. Refer to the Steam guides to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stop looking at the reviews and get this game. Six shooter is only shooter
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cargo Commander is a mix of missed opportunity, above average platforming and quirky style. It's easy to be charmed by it in the early going but it quickly becomes more of a chore than it needs to be. The core gameplay is that of a 2D platformer with basic shooting elements. You're given objectives to complete (basic tasks, typically involving the collection of randomized loot throughout the equally randomized cargo containers you'll be exploring across level sets known as "sectors"). The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game, great concept. Little rough around the edges. Hilarious how ahead of it's time this game is in a way. It's almost like a PvE extraction game long before that craze took off. It's well worth it's price in my opinion. I think my only problem with it is just that I don't really like the respawning enemies much. They just respawn too quickly and make it less strategic to use resources. Instead you end up using things like the mag launcher to bust up sections and clear enemies.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good idea of a game, but really messy to play to say the least... The control are awful and once the tutorial is done well, here comes the pain... The next 10 try i gave ended in me drifting into space because unable to get back inside my spaceship... Still worth a try if you're into die and retry
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cargo Commander is a great little game with a wonderfull mechanic, you will be full of adrenaline as you run through wrecked ships to get back to the safety of your floating cube before your shot into space with the wreckage you run through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could launch this game into space. (I also wish I could give a neutral review) Cargo Commander is a pretty straightforward title. You play as a guy who's stranded in space with the job of salvaging cargo from random other ships that collide with yours. In said ships you'll find a bunch of random cargo, enemies, weapons and pickups. And that's it. That's the game. You basically rinse and repeat the same loop albeit changing up what boxes show up via enterring random coordinate…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little indie title, it's age shows but it's still worth the play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Goofy platformer with a mashup of features. Super chill game with a bunch of dad jokes and cursing. :-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems interesting at the beginning but quickly gets repetitive and boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me, the game is a nice platformer with rapidly increasing challenges. Unfortunately, I only play with mouse and keyboard and for this configuration, the controls seem far to imprecise and unforgiving for a platformer of this kind. In particular, I have issues with everything rotatating when entering new cargo holds and having to occasionally jump onto the top of thin walls with these imprecise controls. Not recommended with mouse+keyboard.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, but I'm glad I only paid $.99 for it. The controls get wonky at times, particularly the aiming and once that goes, you may as well forget the run. It eventually corrects itself, but by the time it does, it may be too late. Other than the control problem, the game is ok, if a bit repetitive. I'll give it 2 out of 10. If I'd paid serious money for this, it would get a 0 as paying $10 for this equates to highway robbery.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →25. Cargo Commander - PC What a special game. One of the only times I liked an action platformer with physics bullshit. More people should play it imo. Very atmospheric and even the soundtrack has an all-time banger: nineyardsaudio.bandcamp.com/album/cargo-...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - Game hasn't been updated in years so you know when you're done you're done no coming back months later to grind for new achievements. - Steam Achievements - Steam Trading Cards - Balanced well Cons: - No real replayability Opinion: I completed this game a few years ago and noticed I never reviewed it. It has 22 - 30 hours worth of game play if you're going for 100% achievements. A few unique game play elements making for a good plat former. I enjoyed my time with it and you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I REALLY want to like this game... but I don't. For a rogue-like, there's very little progression, and even then it's reset every few "levels". Feels like I'm replaying the first couple levels of BoI over and over again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun, challenging, platformer-shooter. There is a community-based high score chart for each world and you can end up competing to try to have the high score on all worlds you visit. Fun way to spend a couple of hours every now and again. Edit Jan 2023: I see this game priced at $2. Buy it. Play it. That's a ridiculous price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game got very repetitive very quickly, and a bit too much randomness going on it seems. Almost died trying to get into the sector pass ship, because I had to go half way out into space and drill through the hull, just to meet gravity that dropped me right out into space again with nowhere to actually land inside. Did die by a flying squid monster I was punching in the head but not hurting. After death controls stopped working, so I had to force quit the game. Couldn't configure controls to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I keep coming back to this game after years for a quick romp through the deadly depths of space. This game does so many things right!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game, but rather depressing, when you think about it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You will never play another game like Cargo commander! A surprisingly original title that rewards speed, skill and planning while still offering huge amounts of character. It has one of the most satisfying endings to any game I've played and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is nothing like returning to your ship with a huge haul of cargo and watching it pile up, you'll want to experience it for yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple but fun game with a unique physics-based premise. If you enjoy platforming and compulsively completing a collection of items, it could be a good pick.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, entertaining and cheap game, simple concept and gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just a really solid game in general. At its core, Cargo Commander is a roguelike platformer of sorts, you spend your time exploring cargo crates for loot items and bringing them back to base while also trying not to get killed by enemies, but it has a lot of smart mechanics that keep the experience interesting. For starters, each crate will only be available for a limited time before it gets sucked into space, and if you're still on it you'll have to fight your way back to base…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite being an interesting new approach to the classic procedural dungeon, Cargo Commander was not well executed enough to win my support. At the heart of Cargo Commander, it could be argued that it is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler. You have a base of operation (town), you plumb the depths of random cargo containers that hold both loot, monsters and other dangers (dungeons) and you defend yourself with equipment you either salvage, or upgrade into (equipment farming/crafting).…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very well put together game, with only minor bugs but overall good quality and great quick fun The soundtrack and backdrop fit perfectly. Although it's a sidescroller with an adjustable zoom level, it gets very claustrophobic inside your tincan spaceship home. You truly feel alone in this game. Until some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decides to beat my high score in the sector known as TITSASS or BOOBS. Then it's on. Runs great on Linux
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overview Explore and loot for high score Fight aliens and mutants guarding them Find every type of loot to finish the game Gameplay ★★★☆☆ Roguelike gameplay offers some variety, though it still gets repetitive after a while Generated level designs are heavily limited by the theme of cargo containers Space theme does offer an interesting mechanic for a platformer, where you can drill and enter/escape the level from several different locations The biggest flaw is that the exploration window…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a filler kind of a game, when you have a small bit of a time and wonder to pick up a fast game, to relax and unwind. The main story-line can be finished in timely fashion and after that it's about beating a high-score and competing with other players. I enjoy this part of it and the part of finding random postcards and occasionally sending them to players or NPC's. The levels are randomly generated, however if you play in same sector, it can happen the occurrence of containers will be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thumbs up with lots of caveats. It fully achieves what it set out to be and for the right players with the right mindset this will fits unique niche at a fantastic price. That said, for everyone else... you'll run out of content quick. This is not a game in the traditional sense. You aren't going to be completing levels, exploring, mastering your skills to overcome the roguelike challenges, and fighting against increasingly dangerous hordes. You're just a chill space-junk salvager just doing a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cargo Commander is a 3D rendered 2D physics puzzle/action platformer where you control a worker in space salvaging various abandoned cargo crates. Use a variety of weapons from your special power glove to kill enemies, cut through floor sections and smash crates. For an indie game the technical implementation here is well above expectations. 4K graphics, a few graphics tweaking options, reasonable looking art style all indicate this game should be a success... but it's not. Why not?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gets dull quick
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This seems like it should be a rpg-lite gaining random loot, but it is actually a bad platformer where you're constantly being tossed out into space to die or killed by mobs because you have no ammo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game. Then I realized that the in-game radio is stuck on the "alt-folk" station. Death was a sweet release.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My go-to stress reducing game. I've probably gotten more enjoyment for my money for this game than on any other game in my Steam library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press F and thank me later
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for 49 cents during the Summer Sale, and after going through 40 hours of playtime that seemed to fly by, it was worth every penny. This game didn't feel too grindy, and the length was just right. I was able to get most of the achievements by naturally progressing through the game. The random environments that you can generate by typing in different sector names kept this varied and fun. I may come back to this game sometimes to select a popular sector, and seeing if I can get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Though it drags on and gets repetitive it certainly had my attention for a while. I think some more variety and narrative could have made this a truly memorable game. It makes comments on corporations , isolation, and draws sympathy out for logistic workers . But these statements are all made in small doses with long lapses in between. It's pretty fun game if you want to hop around ships with light combat all in an effort to collect mail items.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game with great mechanics and controlls. I would reccomend it nearly to anyone who like this type of games. Go for it you wont regret it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A sekret gem; buy it and put it in a medallion and then nestle it into your burly chest hair while you raid space containers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. Boring and repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Likely one of the best "pickup, put down" games I've ever played. Highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a game for kids
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a great way to pass some time. It's a good mix of procedurally generated as well as fixed levels- can have whichever you prefer that day. Game is fairly seamless and I enjoy the varying gravity settings :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really like this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All has been said what needs to be said by others so... I liked it and found it fun to play. Don't know if you'd like it? Grab it when its cheap and try it out.
