It's as if you are on a nice bike ride in a pretty environment and the chain falls out every 1 minute. You just dont want to go on anymore. Quite sad...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For more reviews from the pens of gamers and enthusiasts, stroll on over to [url=https://saveorquit.com/]SaveorQuit. These buildings might have feelings easily swayed and broken like humans do, but they certainly also have some serious control and UI issues, tend to overcomplicate things, are prone to sudden outbursts of poorly worded explanations and get lost in their thoughts often. On the surface, it's a quaint, charming 2D city builder with anthropomorphic buildings and a rundown, old…

Overall Rating - Painfully Bad ★☆☆☆☆ First Impressions I saw Buildings Have Feelings Too (BHF) as a possible game to review, and although I thought it looked kind of cute, it wasn't something I was actively looking for. However, out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty fun, but the controls are a bit awkward, and it's easy to get stuck in the Tutorial. It's a unique idea, and I've played enough games that I love unique ideas. So I would recommend this game, if you want something unique and interesting. But understand that a big part of the "game" is fighting the controls. A big part of the problem stems from the fact that you can't go straight left-right when selecting a spot to build. If you go past the spot you are trying to select…

A city management/puzzle game hybrid where you play as a building that goes around managing the neighborhoods to make sure buildings have a fufilling life. But is Buildings…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and charming puzzle game with just absolutely terrible controls and hampered by a poorly designed tutorial. The controls are keyboard focused, it's VERY fiddly to use WASD to move correctly and select specific objects or spaces, and the keys used in menus change from panel to panel. It's not intuitive or friendly at all. Just as an example: when you open up the game, there's a button next to "New Game" labelled "A". If you push the "A" key, because that's what you do when a button is on a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Forced into fullscreen. 0 graphic settings. Runs at sub-20 FPS on a 2080 Super. It runs so slow and clunky on my machine and has crashed twice in the 0.1 hours I spent playing it. Requested a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had to give this game a go just before going to bed! I've had it in my wish list for such a long time and it's finally here. Is it as silly as I expected it to be? Yes! Is it fun? Yes. I'm an average gamer and I take games as they are, without expecting things that they don't oversell. The lack of options didn't bother me, I just hit Alt+Enter for windowed and lowered the volume on my speakers and I was ready to go. From the "first area" which I completed, I can understand how it might…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lovely puzzle. It plays very similarly to Reus. You place can place different buildings along a limited number of horizontal spaces. Each kind of building can hold different kinds of businesses like apartments, cafes, and the like. Each building provides benefits (and sometimes costs) to their neighbors which when stacked properly allows you to upgrade them. Fully upgrading a building unlocks more advanced buildings as well. Unlike Reus, the missions are not timed, and a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This.....sucks. Really awesome art style, fantastic visuals. The controls -- are terrible, they dont even work sometimes. Practically nothing is explained i almost needed a walkthrough for the tutorial because I thought I was doing something wrong. Worst of all, half an hour of that awful music loop. One thing I need from games is, at minimum, a tolerable soundtrack. I wanted to like this, I really did. Ill give it another go and see if I can tolerate it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Revitalize various rundown sections of the city and explore the story of the people living within through the “eyes” of the buildings in this unique city-builder-slash-puzzler! To be frank, Buildings Have Feelings Too! is definitely one of the weirder city-builders that I've reviewed. It gives the game a unique feel but unfortunately, the game is marred by several crucial gameplay issues that turned it from a on-the-fence Thumbs-up to a Thumbs-down. The highlight of the game is that the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat graphics and style but awful & clunky controls (keyboard only, mouse is useless - on a pc game - come on) and some bugs - can't load a saved game for example. Update: They have added mouse support with first patch but it feels akward & clunky as controls seems to be implemented & optimized for gamepad / keyboard at first. And the bugged save game was accessible with mouse but no chance with keyboard only. I hope they turn the tide and make the game more accessible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did get stuck in the tutorial and could not progress any further (could just me a me issue?). One day I may return and figure it out. Game ran well, no crashes, no lag, but the targeting is a little weird and off, ability to target and click with mouse could be cool too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so many bugs still. I keep having to reload every few minutes. And for some reason, you can't manually save/load game. So if you screwed up big time, you're gonna have to start aaaaallllll the way back to the beginning.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very little in the way of mouse controls. Extremely awkward in 2021.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR Great concept, terrible execution. Possibly the definition of form over function. I want to love this. It's a interesting and engaging concept - anthropomorphised buildings with likes and dislikes all jostling for a position in this weirdly 2D side-scrolling city. Unfortunately, the controls are fiddly & frustrating and the mechanics poorly explained if not simply poorly thought-out. That the game is difficult is no issue at all - it's an engaging enough concept to make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first the game and its ideas are nice. Once you come to the third neighbourhood, there is no way to go forward with the building permit and somehow remove the orphan homes and there is no help with it at all. After that the game keeps on crashing on steam proton and I can't enter it again. Not playable now, so not recommended.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Utterly charming! The animation of each building as it toddles along had me grinning! You settle into the rhythm of it after about 10 minutes and it becomes something that draws you in to play more and more. I enjoyed this take on the city builder genre and am looking forward to more time with this one
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DONT GET THIS GAME - BUGS THAT HARD LOCK THE GAME AND ABANDONED BY DEVELOPER Look, I do Love this Game, the Idea and how they gave the buildings personalities, their Chatter, everything HOWEVER it is totally Buggy. Soooo many Bugs. With the Same Game (Family Sharing) you have different Problems depending on the which PC/Laptop/Notebook you Play IT on. I never had this Problem; it is Strange yet unsolveable this far. I for one cant leave the Tutorial Level. For whatever reason, IT did Not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually love these types of puzzle games but unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. The game feels really clunky, at least on pc and the playability was more exhausting then it was fun. I feel like most of the time I was just running back and forth, I wish I could have zoomed out a little but there is no option for this. It's a real shame because the art is gorgeous, the music cute and the overall theme of the game is great, unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. The explanation and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It might have been a fun game, but those controls *shudder* They are forever selecting something different than you actually want, or just doing something else On top of that, the shortcuts are bound in a rather unintuitive way and as far as i saw, not rebindable I´d be willing to give the game a second chance after the controls are fixed, but for now, i´d say its best to stay clear of this one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect? No. But charming and challenging? Absolutely. I'd been looking forward to this game since first reading about its development, and bought it on release day. I found several aspects frustrating such as the lack of mouse control, which was fixed almost immediately. Despite the cartoon-ish style, this is not a mindless sandbox toy; you have to think and plan and figure out puzzle-like situations. I felt right chuffed to achieve certain objectives, which reminds me that non-Brits…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Positives: - The game has great story telling, who said buildings don't have feelings? - The game implemented negative and positive effects in a good way, which were logical yet funny statements. Like rented rooms don't want to live too close to factory chimneys. - The buildings were made as a resemblance of people, in which Blackstaff did an awesome job. You can really see the character buildings having eyes, mouths or even mustaches. - The game is very refreshing in its category, it's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the moment I booted up Buildings Have Feelings Too and started the cute tutorial directed by crumbling, decrepit buildings, I knew I was about to find a treasure trove of fun. 2 hours later, I gave up searching. This is one of the most challenging games I’ve played recently, and for all the wrong reasons. A poorly designed user interface, symbols out the wazoo with little to no explanation, and a really tiresome way of walking the buildings to and fro to meet your goals. Watch my 8…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really cute, but I definitely feel like a dummy while playing it. Every other minute I'm shouting "WHY ARE YOU CLOSING??? WHAT DID I DO???" I can never figure out the lack of which requirements make a building close and which ones they are happy to sit and deal without. I am sad I played for 3 hours and didn't manage any achievements at all. I'll probably play more but I might read some tips first. I assume people who are better at city management games will do a lot better…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really loved this game! The controls can be a bit muddled at the start, but once you get them, what unfolds is a beautifully quaint puzzle game. Looking forward to playing even more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came into this game hoping that it was an anthropromorphic, side-scrolling city-builder. I loved the graphical style and the idea of the buildings being characters. Instead, I got a slightly obtuse puzzle game. I got stuck at one point because I couldn't continue to upgrade buildings because I needed a resource, but how to get that resource was completely obscured. I think even if you go in looking just for a city-themed puzzle game, you may still find this one frustrating. Not for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Video Review: https://youtu.be/dc5HAgXdCHQ 4.5/10 Overall I Like the charm of the game it has personality and that’s why I really want to give this game full run through to find the best in this game. But I can’t finish it the game-play loop is so tiring and tedious. The graphics and the dialogue you have with each building are nice and oddly strange that you start to sympathies with a high rise. I don’t want to say this game is terrible I'm sure a group of people will love this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game! I hope that negative reviews will fade out of existance, since now you can use your mouse. This game is very interesting for me and I'm sure that I'll enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting concept and I want to love this game and play it but so far keep running into technical issues while running it. I would only buy this at the really good sale price point. I got it 80% thankfully so I'm not upset but advise anyone curious not to spend full price. Concerned the game is "dead" as no updates since 2021 and still unanswered forum posts where others run into game breaking issues. Besides that word of caution, the concept is really cute, nice art and music…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had played this at PAX yeeeears ago and was eager to see it come out. It's definitely cute and has a lot of charm, but unfortunately aesthetics does not a good game make. After two levels, I'm starting to realize that the gameplay basically boils down to "move buildings around to optimize upgrades." That's it. I mean, I only played through the first two levels, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that the game is going to get much more complex than that, which wouldn't be so bad if moving…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked the idea of this game but sadly it wasn't enough. The controls are clunky, the mechanics are overly complicated and badly explained, and you can fail a level (spending all resources) without a way to repeat just that one level. When I played on release, I was stuck in a level because the game let me advance to the next one without having the required building unlocked. I talked to the developer and they said that they fixed it. Still, I'm disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I very much like the concept of this game. I did not like the initial implementation of it : achievements did not seem to work and in the PC version you got stuck at some point where fulfilling the quest does not let you continue. They did fix these issues in hotfix #2, so changing my recommendation to 'thumbs up' because of this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's the thing: I have no issue with city builders or sim management titles. Especially if they put an interesting twist to separate themselves from the pack. That's exactly the case for Buildings Have Feelings Too! It's quirky approach to buildings creating buildings to coexist with OTHER buildings is certainly a fresh idea. Unfortunately, confiding it to a 2D plane whale constantly retracing your steps in order to maintain a set of conditions is mentally taxing. I understand what they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls aren't bad a lot of people I think don't realize you can use the dpad to fine tune placement and selection. However the premise of building the city from a building you move around is not a great idea. Imagine playing City Skylines but instead of just being the omnipresent camera you were a civilian and could only see and build in your immediate vicinity. The game would be better if I was just a camera rather than a character. Having played thirty minutes I can say this isn't a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buildings Have Feelings Too!, developed by Blackstaff Games and published by Silver Lining Interactive and Maple Whispering Limited, is one of those rare indie titles that dares to blend charm, wit, and urban management into something entirely different. It takes the familiar premise of a city-building game and reimagines it through a whimsical, almost theatrical lens where the buildings themselves are the citizens. In this world, structures walk, talk, complain, and dream about progress,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't care for the game play. I thought it was city builder management type game but it's not at all. It's a puzzle game. The game play revolves around placing the correct buildings next to each other so that they level up. A rented rooms next to a grocery store next to a pub and so forth. The only thing related to cities is that they are buildings. I suppose the emergent game play is leveling up the buildings and therefore unlocking more buildings with more needs but that just didn't do it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is just swell, its charming. Yet all I see is it getting absolutely blasted for every minute problem. It is basically nitpicking. The game is what it is trying to be and does a good job at it. To be honest I don't get the hate, I have read review after review and I have tried all the problems from the reviews and have found none of them to be an issue. The biggest problems are that it gets quite repeative, that the popups for upgrades sometimes don't go away, and that the music is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game holds an interesting premise and is really well made, however the mechanics are a little too fussy. You have to many menus and sub-menus to navigate in order to be able to determine the wants and needs of each building, I feel if that was a little more streamlined in how it operated it would make a play through a lot smoother. Its not that its a bad game, just needs a bit more streamlining.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am trying to understand the gameplay & get accomplishment but I didn't. Played too long to qualify for refund. The theme is fitting but gameplay didn't match to me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing for around an hour, I'm quite liking this game! I'm not a fan of City Management games, I just can't get into them, but this one is simple enough for me to get the hang of, and I can say it's quite addicting! I haven't encountered any major bugs. Just got a bit confused with the mission of turning the Work House into something else, as I didn't remember/know which building the Work House was, but I solved that quickly and it didn't affect my experience and enjoyment whatsoever.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of reviews are about strange controls in this game. I just bought it a couple of days ago, but they actually had it updated in August 2021 and they made some changes to the controls. It is now playable by the mouse. (And X-Box controller) So I don't know exactly how it was, but at the moment, it is actually a fun little game! The art of the houses is beautiful, It's fun to play and make a nice street with buildings that compliment each other, and the controls are fine. There is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am really sorry to refund this game, but UI made me :( Love idea and charm of this project. Don't like how the communication between player and game is made. Sorry( Please fix it and send update. I really hope to try once more and change my mind about it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice artwork ^^ Alas controls are horrible and I keep getting a freeze at the start of tutorial. So I cannot progress. Too sad...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this at a discount, I would recommend it for the low price if you are interested to see a unique gameplay. However, if you are not interested in unpolished, buggy games, avoid this like a plague. The lack of instructions and buildings decaying abruptly does not help. 4/10 would still try completing the game whilst having to accept the freezing at 3 star buildings.
