It's kinda sad that games like these are almost non existing now. Fun point and click with a lot of historical places to visit, without over-complicated riddles. Nico and George are spectacular duo as always. Honorable mention takes the goat with roach too, and great landscapes. You honestly dont need previous games to enjoy this one but it's recommended to play at least the first one. Soo yeah Broken Sword 6 - Parzival Stone when? This franchise has 30 years thats crazy...

I really wanted to like this. The original is my favorite game of all time, but I just can't get into this. The puzzles are terrible. Each one boils down to - finding a problem, picking up an item in the same room, using the item, problem solved. It's terribly boring. I just can't recommend it.

As someone who’s loved the Broken Sword series since George first bumbled into ancient conspiracies with that charming smirk, it physically hurts me to say this... but this ain’t it. When Broken Sword 5 was announced on Kickstarter, I was hyped. Like, irrationally hyped. The promise of a return to 2D, classic-style adventuring? Take my money. Take my hope. And then the game did exactly that. It took all of it and gave me back a story trapped inside something that barely qualifies as a…

At least the game tells you exactly how far you got, so I'm quitting at 82 %. The "puzzles" in early and mid game are, let's put it mildly, not very good - sometimes I actually felt like solving sudoku. But the puzzles in end game are just plain bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm used to stuff like making monkey wrenches out of monkeys, I could even forgive the goat puzzle for being kind of unique, but that tabula thing just made me quit. Also, I'm feeling a complete lack of Broken Sword vibe in…

Broken Sword 1 and 2 are legendary games but these golden days are gone for good. Broken Sword 5 is disappointing in almost every regard and definitely not a return to the quality of the original two games. I love the first two Broken Sword titles and played the originals on PC as well as on the PS1. Finally, I enjoyed the Broken Sword 1 remaster quite a lot during my last playthrough. This entry though is... rough. I really tried my best working through this game to the end. Positive…

It's definitely not as good as the first one, but seeing as how that's one of the best adventure games ever made it was a pretty high bar to clear. Still very pleased to see that after the two absolutely abysmal 3D Broken Sword games, they finally managed to make a good one again. George Stobbart remains one of my fav video game protagonists.

Good point & click adventure, it goes back to it's roots from the first 2 games, which is an improvement. The Story for me it was nice, maybe the ending a bit rushed. Puzzles were ok still had some weird solutions like some of the older ones but this comes with the genre at this point. Played it fully on the Steam Deck, the game even has input prompts for the steam controller, worked right out of the box and barely used any power so you can play long sessions.

After playing almost 4 hours, this is my opinion: 1) The game is by far, more boring than the rest of the series. Allot of the dialog interactions are single one liners and one word answers. Who talks in this manner? When you have a conversation, it's an actual conversation and NOT a game of "20 questions". 2) The "skip" dialog function is not as intuitive or responsive as one would think for this type of game. Very slow in all instances. You're probably going to want to watch a movie or YT…

Apart from some unnerving crashes and one ridiculously hard puzzle towards the end, this was quite enjoyable and very much in the vein of the 2D originals as I remember them from the 90s. They even nailed the typical "lag" in the animations and dialogue. The story lost focus sometimes but not too much to put the game down. Sound was a bit muffled but the art style overall was top notch. Looking forward to Part 6!

Not bad adventure game! 5/10 + Not bad sequel. + Not bad visual style. + Good voice acting. + References to previous parts of the game. + Not bad humor. - Bad combination of good 2D backgrounds and not good 3D characters. - Slow animation. - Uninteresting storyline. - Lots of boring dialogues. - Lots of stupid moments. - Stupid puzzles. - Still no love line between George and Nico. Only for fans of the great classic "Broken Sword" dilogy!

This game is terrific. Story is excellent. I love the little hint option, I'll try to solve the puzzles, but I'm just as happy getting the story moving and not wasting time on some of the more cryptic puzzles. A+ game, great voice acting, I started with English but switched to French with subtitles. If you like Point and Click games, don't sleep on this one.

Broken Swords are always good. This one has an achievement that you better read about/watch videos before you leave Vera Security and when with the goat or you can easily miss it. I am glad I prepared or would need to play the game again for 100%. You may want to back up saves as you go so you can have more saves than the game save interface allows. This has the best graphics of the five. Come on BS6!

It's ok. Puzzles are fine and don't take very long. The hint mechanism works great. BUT.. this is sooo slow. Every action needs like2-3 seconds pause. It's ennerving to wait. Every trial and error is punished by a unreasonable wait time.

It's not as fun as the 1st or 2nd but infinitely better than the 3rd and 4th installments (I didn't like that specific 3D look and feel). This 3D characters with cell shading and the hand painted backdrops is what you love. The humour is back. albeit a bit darker at times.

Players argue that this installment of the series just doesn't hit the high standard set by the first game. It doesn't, thats true, but it missed the mark by just a small margin. So overall, this is a darn good game with humor and zany characters where the puzzles mostly make sense and you can do without peeking into a walkthrough.

Fantastic artwork, captivating storytelling, and an effortless sojourn through George and Nico's quest to solve the riddle of an obscure painting, make this instalment of the Broken Sword series fun to play. Returning to it's original point and click design, the interface is easy to use. Transitions are smooth and effortless. Every character is well developed. It's effortless to pass the time with this game. Rated 7 out of 10.

It's a mostly cogent game, but rough around the edges, and there's no single area in which it's exemplary. But it's fun enough. I generally enjoyed the aesthetics, yes they lean on a sort of cosy/rustic nostalgia but they are nice. Music unmemorable, voice acting fine but didn't stand out, talk options start out alright but lose a bit of momentum as time goes on. Would have liked some more open-ended areas. Plot pacing is decent. Movement could be smoother and failed action delays could be…

This game is awesome, 10/10, it feels like an improvement on the first two really great games in the series, it captures the atmosphere and vibe that made me fall in love with the series that had been partially lost in the 3rd (and I haven't played the 4th). Broken Sword 5 absolutely captures the original style and sentiment of the first two games in the series. It’s fantastic to step back into the shoes of George Stobbart and embark on yet another epic adventure. The environments are stunning, and while I feel that cel-shaded 3D characters immediately look outdated, I understand the cost-efficient style choice for a modern game. Perhaps one day, classic cinematic 2D animation will return to the franchise. One can only hope. Most of the puzzles…

The game could have been more exploratory. While the story/narrative moves along nicely, from a gameplay standpoint: you’re always just working with 1-2 screens to advance to the next part of the game. There were times where I thought I had tried everything and got stuck, to find out from a walkthrough that I had to click on something ‘again’ because now that I was playing a different character I could view it in more detail. ..little irrational annoying things like that which stalled my…

Alright, I finally finished the last (although I see 6 is in the works) of the series. This one goes back to the strong roots of a Point n' Click. You can once again skip dialogues. Can't sprint or walk faster however (not as cumbersome as you'd think tho). All in all, I'd say, play 1, 2, and 5. End w 3 and 4 if at all, w 4 being the worst.

A game back to the roots of Broken Sword, but unfortunately it has a lot technical issues, Random crashes to the desktop due to memory leaks inside the game that crashes any openGL driver. Broken Sword's puzzles never disappoints (I mean it in a sarcastic way). I've played the first installment, The Shadow of the Templars way back in 1997 (or 96, I'm not sure anymore), as a dare from one of my friends, who considers this, the most boring game they have ever played. And I've been hooked ever since. The same feeling, or sense of accomplishment when you have solved a puzzle, no matter how farfetched and unbelievable it can be. Probably that's why they put hints, so players won't get…
