neutral · AI labelView post →To think that initially the rumors were about a remake of the 1983 helicopter action-thriller film Blue Thunder 🤭 There is not even one copter in The Odyssey 🤷
neutral · AI labelView post →Pause the movie Blue Thunder around 1:16:43
neutral · AI labelView post →Now that Christopher Nolan has addressed the BLUE THUNDER remake rumors and since BLUE THUNDER will probably *never* be in the news again, today seems like a good day to post my deep dive on the film, with director John Badham
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching BLUE THUNDER (1983). Incredible that they made a movie about pervy LA helicopter cops, maybe the least-liked people in society, and got away with it by casting Roy Scheider and Daniel Stern.
neutral · AI labelView post →4. They wanted Roy Scheider to reprise his role, at least as a cameo. He says in his biography that to avoid being asked/pestered, he signed on to do helicopter action-flick "Blue Thunder" (1983). *Just to avoid being pressured into association.*
neutral · AI labelView post →We continue our celebration of helicopter explosions in films with our second @cultmovie.cards. This time it's another classic exploding helicopter film, BLUE THUNDER (1983). I don't know how many times I watched this film as a kid. Who knew it'd be so formative. Catch you later...
positive · AI labelView post →I thought it was going to be a Blue Thunder inspired helicopter movie?!! honestly disappointed
negative · AI labelView post →Watching Blue Thunder in early anticipation of the new Christopher Nolan film. On the Big Picture podcast they said casting Matt Damon and Tom is an upgrade from Roy Scheider and Daniel Stern and that is simply not true
negative · AI labelView post →LET'S CELEBRATE L.A.! 1983's BLUE THUNDER features some of the most stunning photography (especially night photography) of our city ever put on film. theasc.com/articles/blu...
neutral · AI labelView post →They yassified the poster to your dad's favorite Vientnam flashback movie. #nowwatching Blue Thunder (1983)
negative · AI labelView post →I saw the movie "Blue Thunder" in a Buffalo movie theater with Rick James and the Mary Jane Girls.
neutral · AI labelView post →Yep going with another classic 80s flick tonight. It's been awhile but it's time for Blue Thunder. Movie just kicks ass and is a blast #80s #1980sfilm #filmsky #bluethunder #genx
positive · AI labelView post →The movie Blue Thunder is about how police helicopters are a horrible violence perpetrated on the people, but it looked really cool so they made a spinoff TV show about how cool and beneficial police helicopters are.
neutral · AI labelView post →The title screen of Thunder Blade is from the movie Blue Thunder
neutral · AI labelView post →BLUE THUNDER is on Netflix and Saturday morning is the perfect time for a Dad movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Blue Thunder over the weekend, and I don't think I've ever seen a movie in more desperate need of a remake that should never, ever have one. It was one of that skutch of THINGS I WAS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO WATCH aside from the short, much nicer for the most part, TV show.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just reminded this movie exists. When I was young, my dad showed us Blue Thunder (1983). And little me learned things about myself... 😳 Now the scene hasn't aged well. Our *heroes* are cops acting as peeping Toms and it's played for laughs. And while they are doing this, another woman is murdered.
negative · AI labelView post →Contrast with the “few bad apples” bias in Hollywood post Iran Contra until really…now. Arguably Blue Thunder was the last 70s film. Cinema of the 2030s could get back to being cool.
positive · AI labelView post →Friday night movie is Blue Thunder 🚁 #filmsky
neutral · AI labelView post →Now (re)watching: BLUE THUNDER (1983) #filmsky
neutral · AI labelView post →Huge fan of the Reddit user who has a bunch of online chodes thinking Christopher Nolan is obsessed with making a movie about "a powerful helicopter" in the vein of BLUE THUNDER.
neutral · AI labelView post →Share an ACTION movie title that begins with the letter “B” 🎥 BLUE THUNDER
neutral · AI labelView post →To think before we knew it was The Odyssey, rumors circulated that Christopher Nolan's post-Oppenheimer movie was a vampire film or a remake of Blue Thunder. Lol
neutral · AI labelView post →"I was flying combat medevac missions in the Na Trang valley when your idea of a Big Time was sitting around on a Saturday morning in your Underoos, watching Scooby-Doo cartoons & eating a fudgecicle" - Blue Thunder, a film that has aged well, imo.
positive · AI labelView post →Here's entry #2 BLUE THUNDER (1983). A film that is on the Mount Rushmore of exploding helicopter movies. "Catch you later."
positive · AI labelView post →No.2 celebrated the classic helicopter, and indeed exploding helicopter, film BLUE THUNDER (1983). More helicopters have been destroyed due to collision with a train than you might think...
neutral · AI labelView post →Movie card no.2 was celebrating another classic chopper fireball from BLUE THUNDER (1983).
neutral · AI labelView post →📽️ EVERY NIGHT IS MOVIE NIGHT 🍿 (154/365) #NowShowing BLUE THUNDER (1983) I’ve heard some good things about this one, but I’ve never watched it. Should be interesting. 🧡🤘 #FilmSky

Rubinstein (born today in 1938) wrote the themes and incidental music to many blockbuster films in the 1980s, including: Whose Life Is It Anyway? (1981); Blue Thunder (1983); WarGames (1983); Lost in America (1985); and Stakeout (1987). Rubinstein died in 2018.
neutral · AI labelView post →Good luck on that, many supervisors turn a blind eye to them and wish they would just go away but in reality they sometimes like hard nose cops. You might had seen the movie Blue Thunder with Roy Scheider back in the 80’s which talks about politicians who rely on bad cops.
neutral · AI labelView post →You: SO HYPED FOR NOLAN'S ODYSSEY Me: Wait so he's NOT doing the Blue Thunder Helicopter movie? BOOOOOOO!!!
neutral · AI labelView post →Hey everyone, why don't you check out my review of another episode of the Blue Thunder TV series for the great @bulletproofpod.bsky.social website. I take a look at a controversial episode which throws the continuity with the film completely out the cockpit window!
neutral · AI labelView post →Do you know the film Blue Thunder? An armed police helicopter designed to quell riots and terrorist situations before the 84’ Olympics. I think of that film often, I would love penning a remake, but where the original focused on surveillance, I’d have it focus on the militarization of police.

neutral · AI labelView post →HAHAHA omg if you GenXers remember Frank Murphy & JAFO, you're gonna love this overview of the movie AND the TV show. neutral · AI labelView post →Looking at the credits of cinematographer John Alonzo (BOTD 1934-2001), one that stands out for me is Blue Thunder (1983), a superior, exciting action film with a great look and terrific (night-time) aerial scenes. I saw it in first run and was impressed.
positive · AI labelView post →I still can't believe how afraid Malcolm McDowell is afraid of flying and yet was in the cockpit of some of the wildest helicopter stunts ever put on film in Blue Thunder.
neutral · AI labelView post →watching BLUE THUNDER and did you even film your movie in LA if you didn't shoot a scene at Centinela Drive-In?
neutral · AI labelView post →Red Dawn + Blue Thunder = Purple Rain. "Great album. Deeply flawed movie." - Fox Mulder And now the deeply flawed movie is coming to Broadway as a musical? Oh my.
neutral · AI labelView post →Some of you don’t remember the 80’s but we had competing attack helicopter franchises in Blue Thunder and Airwolfe. Would one show/movie about a killing machine with a rotor be good enough? Nope, not in the 1984 it wasn’t.
neutral · AI labelView post →Before it was revealed he was doing Odyssey there was this wild rumor floating around about Nolan remaking 80s helicopter movie Blue Thunder? I don't know who started that, but when I heard it I thought, yup, that tracks.
neutral · AI labelView post →i love dan o’bannon. watched BLUE THUNDER recently for first time in decades. a perfect, very 80s, anti surveillance & cops movie
positive · AI labelView post →Here's a dumb joke from the 80's for movie goers- What do you get when you cross Blue Thunder with Red Dawn? (sing it) Purple Rain
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching BLUE THUNDER (1983) for the first time. It's a REALLY good looking movie (ARROW Video's 4K transfer is STUNNING...one of the best I've seen from them) with some impressive visuals and aerial action, but I'm a little confused about if I'm supposed to like these horrible cops or not. ^__^;;;
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm watching Blue Thunder, and it's refreshing that a major plot point in this film is the massive police overreach of being able to see through walls with the new technology.
neutral · AI labelView post →This w/e’s film recommendation: in 1984’s ‘Blue Thunder’ (great cast, insane aerial filming over LA, some 80’s clichés), Dan O’Bannon looks at what happens when shadowy unelected govt agents are free to subvert new technology to further their own agendas. Wait, hang on.. #fileunderrepair #filmsky
neutral · AI labelView post →it's kind of funny to me that both Blue Thunder (the TV series) and Airwolf were drafting off the success (?) of Blue Thunder (the movie), but only Airwolf was able to go the distance. The Jan-Michel Vincent touch?
neutral · AI labelView post →So, this is my guilty pleasure kitschy Dracula favorite. The kite cape at the end is just over the top ridiculous, but the score is amazing of course. Considering Badham's next movie was Blue Thunder, a movie about a helicopter, certain directing decisions in Dracula make sense.
neutral · AI labelView post →So it's like Jurassic World meets Robocop meets Blue Thunder... That's all you had to say... What, did Dorn make that movie during the one whole weekend he had off during the 90's?!
neutral · AI labelView post →Stupid and made me feel old. I was admitted to see Blue Thunder in the early 80s. I was at least one, probably two years too young to see that AA (14) movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →This has reminded me that a year or so ago everyone was convinced the next Christopher Nolan movie was going to be a remake of Blue Thunder. I’m hoping all the Odyssey stuff is a very elaborate bluff.
neutral · AI labelView post →#ACueILove As a composer, Arthur B. Rubinstein worked mostly with John Badham. Here's the theme to BLUE THUNDER, Badham's 1983 film about an experimental police helicopter that's designed to be used against US citizens, chuckle chuckle, so very imaginative.
neutral · AI labelView post →Blue Thunder... As Tricky would say... A flashback from way back... Great film 👌🏻
positive · AI labelView post →It took me the *longest* time to realise the Blue Thunder Bomb wrestling move was referencing the film BLUE THUNDER (1983),a film I've seen multiple times. #AEWDynamite #WrestleSky
