60 of 174 · most liked firstI expected much less from the game, but it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. It features a storyline, various training sessions, player progression and a league system — all of which are huge pluses. Yes, there is admittedly a bit of a lack of content right now, but the game is very engaging, especially when playing Career Mode with a friend. It would be great to see online co-op added (beyond just Remote Play Together), and perhaps make character progression a bit more gradual — right…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game offered by a friend who doesn't care for football and thought I would appreciate it better than she ever would. I'm not sure she realized how much this was going to hit the spot. This game hits differently if you were ever a fan of old, old top down football games from the early 1990s like Sensible Soccer. The game itself is a nice and funny little story which had me crack a few laughs, interspersed with footy matches or sometimes runs of games where you will manage a bottom league team…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Delightfully cozy game with surprising depth to its gameplay and worldbuilding. Plays like Golf Story, old school FIFA Career Mode, and Untitled Goose Game combined. Genuinely hilarious dialogue and art too, with unexpectedly scathing satires of the real-life modern football world. Hard to believe it's a solo dev project really. So impressed. A++
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Sensible Soccer with an optional (and short) Stardew Valley type running around and talking to people story mode. I played it long enough to justify the sale price and had fun with it but in the end it suffers from the same problems that most games of this type do. 1. Player speed is by FAR the most important stat to the extent that anyone with less than 8 speed is a waste of time. 2. The default Medium difficulty is too easy, especially after you get some better players in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've now beaten Bang Average Football's story and earned every achievement except for the ones that will require grinding (win 100 games, score 1000 goals, etc.) and I feel qualified to say this game is quite good and deserves far more attention than it's received. If you're a soccer enthusiast, a fan of 90s-era arcade sports games, or you enjoy sports RPGs like Golf Story, then you'll find this delightful. It's not perfect, but it's impressive considering it was made by a single developer, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game pretty easy to pick up and play - there's a lot of accessibility settings to adjust the game towards how you wanna play it - i put the shooting assist up and then turned up the opponent difficulty myself fun story mode since you get to explore and do things off the pitch, with a few cool questlines
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little game, Gameplay is fun. Just wish there was more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a simple fun football game with a short and tidy story with some good humour. gameplay is reminiscent of arcade football games from the 90s, and 2d gba football games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a load of fun. In many ways its honestly pretty simple. Especially when you compare it to other football games such as Fifa or FM. However, I personally love the simplicity, no need to overcomplicate the in game gameplay when it works as well as it does. I have some minor grips with the story mode itself. Mainly that there is a lot less to do outside of playing matches as the years tick on. Notably I failed to get promoted in my first season thanks to a last minute goal denying me.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like playing an episode of Ted Lasso. The game is essentially three parts: 1. Arcadey soccer (football) sim 2. Lightweight management sim 3. A bit of the walking around talking to townspeople from Stardew Valley The soccer sim moves fast and has enough depth to satisfy. It takes time to go from mostly 0-0 draws to squeezing out consistent wins through grit and determination. At first the match lengths seemed simply too short, but with practice I found there was a lot of room to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me a bit of sensible soccer. Great little pick up & play football game. Would recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't really know what to expect from this game, but I've been addicted to it for the past week. It's simple to learn, easy to play for a few minutes or a few hours, and has a very classic feel with a modern take. The story mode is fun, the different characters are classic but still fun to engage with, and there's a real sense of satisfaction with each next step once you really get into it. From a few minutes on a Zealand video, I've found one of my favorite football games that I've played…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little throw back to sensible soccer. Could do with a few more reactions to winning trophies and maybe a few more teams. A solid football game and a nice alternative to the market leaders.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this to play with friends and no one really found it that good. Something about the physics just feels off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →simple but effective game reminded me of why I like gaming to start pretty addictive with low floor of entry, fun story and funny characters with lighthearted comedy makes this a short but enjoyable experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game, due to FM25 being cancelled. I have seen a Youtuber mention it, probably Zealand. It turned out to be a rather fun and charming game. I liked the visuals and the story are neat. Yes, the jokes are cute too. The management aspect, is not major part of the game, but it was still enjoyable. I have played it for three seasons, and won everything on the first try. The first two seasons on medium, and the rest on hard. I would recommend a similar approach. I would love to play a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stardew style graphics in a football game is a great mixture! I like the idea behind this game a lot
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, casual football game reminiscent of Sensible Soccer (which is a very good thing). Perfect on the Steam Deck too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun football game made by one person. The story mode is great and definitely good enough to keep you interested so you can finish it. Other than that the teams and players are highly customizable and that adds to the fun because you can play with your own or the communities creations. It's also really fun to play multiplayer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a really fun game, the only critique I could ever possibly have is that it's too short. I did sim a few games, so that's also on me. But the storyline dialogue was so good it had me wishing there was so much more!! Really enjoyed it. Made with care by a clearly very talented team! If you want to relax, have some fun, have a laugh - this is the one. Unironically the most fun football game I've played in 2026
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLY GOOD!! I have only 6 hours of game (all in story mode), but this is already one of my favorite games. That game is not only about soccer, that game really makes you want to walk around the map and more stuff, it's not like fifa which is just simulate and buy players, you need to practice, explore the map and manage the team. This game really makes me want to play, the story mode is really something else, it was worth every single cent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is Amazing! The gameplay (matches) is very classic/retro and simple. Like something that you might have played in the 90's. If you are into RPGs and Football, you will enjoy the Story Mode! It starts with creating your player/manager and building your club from zero in a simple way, nothing complex at all. The story is simple and hilarious with some references that a football fan can enjoy. You can also create custom tournaments and cups which can keep you coming back for it. In…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming 2D soccer sim with light RPG elements. The player-manager story mode takes you from the lower leagues all the way to the top, with stadium upgrades, sponsorship mechanics, and a simple transfer system. Lots of customization options so you can easily create alternate career modes with new teams and formats. All modes have men's and women's versions. Story mode lets you run around town talking to people. There are a few short quests where you take the train to go recruit staff or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming football game disguised as a retro RPG. Sensible Soccery, with some light questing to boost stats. If you ever wished you could live a bit of the life outside of the beautiful game, without any stress, this is the one. You can still string moves together and hit thunderbolts from outside the box, then you get to do some optional fetch quests or skill tests to boost your character stats. Money can be used to upgrade your stadium, and everything can be renamed as you like, so if you want…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played soccer/football for 21 years. I got into videogames versions of my favorite sport around the age of 15 and started with the traditional FIFA's then PES games. Out of all the present and past depictions of the sport on a virtual level, this is the most wholesome and fun mix of joy I have had ever playing one! The story, the comments from people in the story with their positivity and just finding the root beauty of the game itself. That is all in the game. The only edition I wanted…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished my first season, opened transfer market and kicked off the second season. Classic and fluid SWOS style gameplay (with extra buttons available), with a nice little lite-rpg story mode attached. This game is very enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freddy Roux gets it done
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its actually amazing for certain people....me being one of them lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came across this in the deals for apparently promoting World Cup 2026. I supposed not to buy this because it's look like "for ants" or "for fleas" and personally i am not interested with this year's World Cup unlike what's was. Then i remember "Sensible Soccer" Then i see the Steam Workshop. It's sensible that i buy this. Controls are simple, ran on a potato (like it looks) there's lots of customization, and there's no in app purchases / premium content bull, and even if this is priced almost…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay so, The game is very charming and is a lot of fun at the start of the game. You get drills, some fun football and a nice load of story with the community and such. You get the story of how the team and its supporters are pretty much all run down now and your job is to make it better. Whilst this was a fun game with all of this about 3-4 hours in this is completely lost. The drills last until maybe the 2nd season in which you are then just clicking "next game, end day, next game" etc.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very nice game honestly, you can see it has been done with passion, the gameplay is good enough and there are some nice jokes that make the whole experience quite enjoyable but idk about buying it at full price. It has obviously some problems: it was clearly made by a small studio so there is not a lot of content, the story is just a 6/10 and the whole story mode feels a bit lacklustre after a few hours. If you find a discount it is a fun little game to play for a week or so while taking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game but match play is very bare and basic, The issue I have is with the characters, I have won 4 games and at the Pub the NPCs still complain about the team and how were worst in the league, This makes no sense? I recommend but its not worth a tenner so far. I like it as its a nice relaxing game though. Also the game is extremely linear so basically feels like following a story rather than following a path. Its also abit too short and sweet. I did enjoy and its also made only by 1 guy.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really fun story mode, would surely recommend if you are looking for a football game to occupy yourself with for hours and hours, without eve realizing for how long you've been playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's a cute little game, the controls are pretty rough. Shooting and aiming is VERY precise which makes things difficult as even the smallest change in the direction of the controller stick can cause shots to go wildly off target. It's also not helped that when passing the ball it always attempts to pass the ball to where the player is instead of where they are going which leads to lots of missed passes. Speed also seems to be the only attribute that has a noticeable impact on anything.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving this game! Would love a big and deeper story mode, there is A LOT more they could do with this, I feel like they've barely scratched the surface.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute little football game for those of us who remembers the glory days of Sensible Soccer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my players could'nt receive a pass to save their lives
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun little arcade football game. The freedom of tactics/formations and gameplay is very engaging, definitely will get you to around 10-15 hours in the game (though I have around 5 hours so far). It could use some QOL and Content upgrades but overall a fun game and not a bad pickup for $11. Note to the developer: Some nice content/QOL ideas which I'm sure you have already heard would maybe be player development, not just your own player but your squad as well. Also potentially an academy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very casual and fun. I'm a hardcore Football Manager fan and this was a nice little spin on football management. It's hilarious at times. Very entertaining
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a lovely game. Very playable and fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly such a well made game. It's so easy to get invested into your team and the community around the club. If you're an FM player, this is a very mindful and serene escape.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now this is a cracking little game combining Commodore 64 era arcade football with a story mode. It's as 'indie' as it comes with basic graphics and gameplay, simple sounds and uncomplicated mechanics. But you do get invested in your team as they progress through the ranks to ultimate national champions. There's non-football sidequests, some Football Manager 'wheeling and dealing', and of course the actual football which isn't difficult until your try the hardest level and against the top…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →arcade football at it’s finest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this in a bundle, and honestly was not expecting it to be this good. I love football games, and I honestly feel like this is one of the best that there are around if you can move away from the big EAFC, eFootball and so on. This game is easy to pick on, has a nice story mode with good writing, and has some replayability value, considering that you can also customize the database however you want (also with the steam workshop). Bang Average Football has its downsides too, though: the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyable little football game. Easy enough to pick up and play in small bursts (excellent for the Steam Deck!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes yes yes. This game really tickles the Sensible Soccer itch. Quick and straightforward gameplay that's full of end to end action. The story mode is a blast with loads of cheeky humour. Loved upgrading the stadium and sponsors. Would love a career mode like Sensi had. The custom tournament options are staggering and I can't wait to tuck into those. Runs like a dream on the Deck. Wholeheartedly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not very fun. The other reviews really hyped this up but honestly there are better cartoony sports games better than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game that allows you to make your own custom players, teams, and databases. I love the customization and the creativity. The gameplay is frustrating because even short passes are very hard to string together. The ball just goes right past a teammate or a teammate will ignore a pass altogether. If the gameplay was buttoned up a little bit more, I'd be able to get lost in it for hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better then the annual EA-Slop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not too interesting. I'm a big football fan and the game discouraged me quite quickly, just because of gameplay alone. Even on hardest difficulty the AI seems stupid. The controls are quite clunky. Ball/pass control is also messy. Unfortunately can't recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game made me feel like playing my Game Boy 30 years ago.... Keyboard is not recommended, if you have a joystick, then everything is alright!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, I've been looking for a soccer game that lets me create and run my own league, but the only issue i have is that when you're generating players you have to do it one at a time, and individually name each and every one of them, that part gets really tedious, so if there was a way to mass generate players, and they already came with a name, then that would be much appreciated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game with fun gameplay and dialogue is amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is just "almost". the story mode is almost fun. the match gameplay is almost there. it scratches at what it could be with just a bit more care and work, but it falls short. defending is so shallow, passing is fun but through balls are atrocious, the shooting is alright but only just. I really wanted to love this game, the music is cute and I love the stardew-ish vibes...but it just let me down..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun and cute little game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PUT SOME SWAZ ON IT GROMIT
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game but only 3 slots to make teams
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolute masterpiece
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and short game. I played the full story mode on hard difficult and it's not that hard after the first few 5/6 games when you are learning and still have a bad team, I can only recommend the game for everyone who likes football.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Suprisingly captavating, In reality I'm team Red (Arsenal) but the Horston Rovers are the Madrid of this game. Great gameplay mechanics, with a lot of soul! The vibes of this game are super chilled. Super solid!
