Didn’t crack a book, didn’t do a google, didn’t even review Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry. White supremacy got you thinking you’re the only ones w guns. Wouldn’t have made it past the port of entry.

Holy shit dude

unlabelledView post →As much as I wanted to love this game, it’s hard to ignore that Freedom Cry isn’t a full-fledged experience it’s very clearly a DLC, and the limited scope shows. The content feels short and somewhat padded, which makes it difficult for the story to fully explore the powerful themes it introduces. There was a real opportunity here to deliver a deeper narrative about slavery, freedom, and resistance and while the game touches on these ideas, it never really gets the time to develop them in a…

Adewale is one of the best assassin ever ...from a slave to a fearsome assassin... Brand new story that is happening after 15 years since events of Black Flag Gameplay is same as Black Flag ..which is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a pretty good DLC for Black Flag, but this standalone version should not exist. It can be completed in less than 3 hours and for some odd reason costs 15 euros.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what was meant to be (and also, still is) a dlc expansion for ac4 black flag is now sold as a 12 dollar game on steam, gotta love ubisoft for their shenanigans. apart from that, it's not a bad game to play. it's just not that very interesting or different. 4 hours of stripped down assassin's creed 4.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but any game needing needing Ubisoft launcher plus the launcher ever taking its sweet sweeet time to launch or fail to do so, or requiring me to sign in again is a NO from me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry delivers a smaller but more concentrated Assassin’s Creed experience, placing Adéwalé in the leading role and giving his personal history far greater importance than it received during his supporting appearance in Black Flag. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, this standalone adventure retains the familiar mixture of stealth, assassination, exploration, parkour, naval combat, and historical storytelling while building its identity around the…

Excuse my wet hair & bad lighting - I thought it would be an audio interview. 😁
unlabelledView post →I think I enjoyed Freedom Cry even more than Black Flag, having just played the remake right before this. Adéwalé is a really compelling protagonist, and the story of liberating enslaved people and dismantling the slave trade personally gave the adventure a much stronger emotional core, while still delivering the pirate gameplay in piecemeal. Do keep in mind however that this game is very short. Even after doing some side content, I finished the story in under four hours. My other major…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being an AC Black Flag DLC originally, it takes all the systems that made that game great and made a short but enjoyable experience. Adéwale is a great character, and despite the limited story, they do explore themes of meaning and futility in the slave rebellions in the Caribbean in the 18th century.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I HAVE NOT YET PLAYED PLACK FLAG This is a great first experience with the pirate aspects of AC games, and this game is getting me very exited for black flag. the controls differ greatly from AC2, But i picked them up quickly. I love how older games like this run on a potato.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freedom Cry occupies a strange space in the Assassin’s Creed lineage. It was originally released as a DLC for AC4: Black Flag, but Ubisoft also pushed it out as a standalone title. It’s a bit of an oddity. Imagine if The Tyranny of King Washington from AC3 had its own separate box art and store page. It’s a confusing release strategy, but don't let the "standalone" branding distract you from the quality of the content. If you loved Black Flag as much as I did, you’ve likely felt that itch to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry ...is a parkour beat'em up adventure game. Adélawé, dedicated assassin and Edward Kenway's former quartermaster, is shipwrecked in Port-au-Prince, causing him to ally himself with the Maroons Resistance. ⚙ Game Description & Mechanics ⚙ You control your character in third-person, walking or running, with a free climbing mechanic emblematic of the franchise: climb almost any wall or cliff or tree, using cracks, nooks and crannies to grab and pull yourself upward.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can no longer play my games thanks to uplay apparently I stole the games I bought. Just stop with that crap drm and let us use steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, nothing made me happier than seeing Adewale get his own story. Ubisoft really went all out with this one, adding new weapons, animations, and mechanics instead of just reusing Edward’s kit. The missions and story were great and the gameplay felt really well. I’d absolutely love to see a full standalone game with Adewale fighting for the revolution.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand that this game is essentially DLC for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, but the game itself is excellent. It has a pretty cool story, beautiful locations, and interesting missions, but it's more about pirates than assassins. I really enjoyed navigating the ship and hunting whales and killer whales. As for bugs, I should probably mention a couple of crashes, but I think that's more of an issue with the Ubisoft launcher than the game itself. My rating: ✭✭✭✭✭
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow. This was a game I had always known about, seeing as it was the DLC for the most popular AC game and my personal favorite. What I didn't know from hearing about this was just how ♥♥♥♥ this game is. The story was weak as hell, with almost no memorable characters. Adewale ultimately was the best character, but damn did I not care about him in the slightest. The woman, who despite me beating this less than 20 minutes ago has had her name slip my mind, is boring. I think she is supposed to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean its alright, just buy the black flag gold edition and don't get this as a standalone game. You get to play as Edward's buff quartermaster Adewale and it's pretty short, didn't hate nor really like the story. I guess a 6/10?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m really happy that Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry became a standalone game. Adewale is an excellent character, and his story makes this experience powerful and memorable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came back to this game for old times' sake and getting those achievements. A bit of sailing and plundering, a bit of fighting and liberating here and there, etc. Not much to explore (except that one underwater wreckage giving me a bit of hard time) and the story feels mediocre to me, but this game is overall good back in its days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry Setting: Saint Dominique A more harrowing take on the Black Flag formula, Freedom Cry excels entirely in its story and the liberation of slaves from French colonial plantations. This is a Black Flag extension, but a thoughtful one that's absolutely worth the effort.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You're Technicaly playing Black Flag just with another character, Dont know why all of a sudden ubisoft cared so much about slaves, Freedom Cry and Liberation both are about Slavery. In my opinion, This is a dlc for Black Flag, not a standalone game. I know this was a dlc before and then turned into a standalone game, but it can't stand a chance as a standalone game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →crashes, bugs, glitches, teleporting to skies, bad ship gameplay, horrible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man it feels good to free slaves. I know this is a small mini campaign story from Black Flag but it was pretty fun to see what Kenways Quartermaster got upto following that game and seeing the Jackdaw hit pretty hard, the ending of my Pirate adventures 7/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freedom Cry does a lot right for what is essentially glorified DLC. Adewale carries the whole thing on his back and the story actually hits harder than most full AC games. Freeing enslaved people never gets old, and the Caribbean setting is genuinely underrated. It's short though, like, blink and you'll miss it short. You'll be done before the weekend is over and left wondering why Ubisoft never gave this man his own full game. A solid experience, just don't expect it to overstay its welcome.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played Black Flag couple months ago, the DLC is meh, just wanted to play through the DLC, 4 hours for the main story, not bad. 5/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had framerate and mouse detection issues, but that's liked to Proton and my OS. The game was fun otherwise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's ok, but it's a shame that this story doesn't have a real standalone game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very boring game, outdated combat, plays like a demo version of black flag, and making a story anti slavery does not translate to being a deep story, it needs more substance and character development.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: 5/10 -Mid AC freedom cry is a small DLC for AC 4 where you take control of Adéwalé which was the quartermaster of Edward kenway's ship. In this DLC, you will free slaves from colonial plantations and try to stop the slave trade. Adéwalé helps the maroons to disrupt Templar activities. The story really is not that deep and it's quite short. This DLC like a really miniaturised version of AC4 that costs 15 DOLLARS. This is a deal breaker. This is 5$ Max. 15$ is an egregious price for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good stand alone extra mission for Black Flag that I didn't know of. Wish I played it right after Black Flag but I'm happy it exists. Our dark brothers will agree. For freedoooooom! Short but good, felt like it had more bugs than Black flag but didn't ruin it. No endless grinding to get buff and you felt great helping the people. Ship warfare much better than that new crap that they launched.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the few AC games where every kill felt justified 100%. This one was more focused with a solid story compared to other AC games. Short because it was a DLC, but it's one of my favorites.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AC Freedom Cry feels like a very cheap addition to the AC franchise, developed just quickly and rushed enough to capitalize on the success of Black Flag. There are a number of flaws with this game which hold it back from being either memorable or fun to play. Technical: This game's story took me roughly 6 hours to complete. Within that time, I encountered more bugs than in my entire time playing Black Flag, which is just odd considering it's build on that game's engine and mechanics. Some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's short, like 4 hours or so, and pretty similar to AC4 overall. Probably felt more motivation killing the enemies in this game than other games I play, literally walking past slave auctions and killing all the sellers. I would pick it up for cheap just bc its short.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games a Black Flag DLC released as a standalone game, keeping that in mind its fun and fast to 100% (took me 8 hours). The peculiarities of Black Flag carry over here too, its the same game as Black Flag and Rogue but you play as the quartermaster of Kenway's Jackdaw, Adewale. The games' story is centered around freeing slaves and mostly set in one land-based area with very little naval combat. While sailing there are no shanties as well. Overall its a fun experience and the story takes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OTD in 2015, I finished ASSASSIN'S CREED: FREEDOM CRY on PS4. I really enjoyed Adéwalé's solo adventure and learned a lot about Haiti's history. I would love more short adventures like this where we could visit other times and places and get to know supporting characters.
