Holy shit dude
unlabelledView post →Considering why Ubisoft reportedly binned a Civil War Assassin's Creed game, I am kind of side-eyeing the lack of Freedom Cry in the Black Flag remake. www.gamefile.news/p/scoop-ubis...
unlabelledView post →There was a game called AC: Freedom Cry, it was a spin-off of AC: Black Flag that was as cool of a game conceptually as I've played. I wish Ubisoft had fully developed it. They managed to pull very few punches without engaging in sensationalizing Black bondage. This was all before Woke of course.
unlabelledView post →Random side note re AC Black Flag Resync I wish they also put a spotlight on the Freedom Cry DLC, because I thought it was a great way to utilise the game format to make a pointed statement. But hey, hope people like their nostalgia.
unlabelledView post →Ubisoft used to be really good at this by largely reusing the same overall landscape for a smaller, more focused game with a spin on what came before. (AC Rogue and Freedom Cry; Far Cry: Primal and New Dawn)
unlabelledView post →Ubisoft cancelling a game for being too mean to the Klan is sort of unfortunately par for the course Liberation and Freedom Cry, the only two AC games focused on slavery and race at all were relegated to expansions so we could watch a welsh pirate be sad his abused wife left

unlabelledView post →Assassins Creed: Freedom Cry asks an important question What if you took Black Flag, compacted it, streamlined it, and made the game about freeing slaves and social revolution against colonial powers instead of a guy being sad about pirates
unlabelledView post →Happy Black History Month! Who's your favorite black video game character? I probably have to go with Adewale from Assassins Creed Black Flag & Freedom Cry 🎮 #Blacksky #Blerdsky #BlackskyGamers #GamerSkyClub
unlabelledView post →You really never know what you're going to get with Assassin's Creed. It's such an up and down series. Generally you get great characterization and story, but you never know if the game will be incredibly inspired or total ass. Aside from aforementioned, I liked Syndicate, Valhalla and Freedom Cry.
unlabelledView post →I can't wait to play that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake. And by can't wait I mean will wait until it's like $30 on sale. But it looks very good, I just wonder why they didn't take the opportunity to incorporate the Freedom Cry DLC content into the game.
unlabelledView post →AC IV resynced added new forms of micro transactions that weren't in the original game but removed the multiplayer, the modern day sections where you get to explore abstergo, and the Freedom Cry DLC.
unlabelledView post →So I think they made some bullshit statement iirc about “the current landscape” but the decision to drop Freedom Cry from the remake was very intentional, they did add in the smaller dlc from the og game and a new story about Blackbeard. Which sucks cuz like the devs COOKED back then.
unlabelledView post →I'm loving the gameplay of the Freedom Cry DLC so far!! I wondered in the main game why the slaves didn't flee the plantation after you killed all their bosses, and now you can actually free them!! #mlp #furry ❤️ youtube.com/live/O29Td2i... 💜 www.twitch.tv/passionateab...
unlabelledView post →I would say black flag is great if all you do is explore(some restrictions in how soon you can start because old school AC game) and if you want a narrative that actually works in that exploration setting try the Freedom Cry DLC
unlabelledView post →Wait so Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced doesn't include Freedom Cry? That DLC was fantastic though It is hard not to feel cynical about why it wasn't included, especially with it directly addressing the slave trade. Same reason why they scrapped an American Civil War themed game. Cowardly
unlabelledView post →like I'm sure the game still has some engagement...but removing Freedom Cry bc you want the game to be "light"? the fucking cowardice of this studio
unlabelledView post →Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has players freeing Hatian slaves from plantations. This canceled idea wouldn't even be the first time a game like this was released by Ubisoft. It's just that they chickened out this time cause of Trump and his cult.
unlabelledView post →I'll be in any club with you and Jill, though! (Jill wrote the Haitian Rev game Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry & is an ally of the community in Montreal. Jill, Rejin is a Haitian artist & her late husband was my favorite archivist!)
unlabelledView post →Oooh, thanks! They're only doing the base game? That's unfortunate. I'm reading Freedom Cry was large enough that they released a standalone, so... I can understand it, I guess.
unlabelledView post →What would’ve been the icing on the cake if they put a remaster of Freedom Cry too, because that’s just as much of an important game.
unlabelledView post →As pointed out elsewhere, they cancelled the Civil War game and are NOT including the Freedom Cry DLC for Black Flag Resynced. That tells you everything you need to know.
unlabelledView post →Saw the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced reveal. Definitely looks very good in motion, the Caribbean History buff in me appreciates the lore, and it is still the best AC game. The modern Abstergo sections being removed and also Freedom Cry being strangely absent are quite a bummer though.
unlabelledView post →Idk, the Freedom Cry DLC was a pretty dope game and we got to burn down plantations, kill overseers and free slaves.
unlabelledView post →Still chugging through this. AssRev didn't want to play nice on steam deck (as in I'm not fucking going to delete files on this fucking thing to make it work) and apparently a recent update fucked the game up too. Added Liberation and Freedom Cry back in since they are bundled with 3 and 4
unlabelledView post →We released a Mini about Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry. A stand alone story. Come listen to what we have to say about this game. #Podcast #podcasting #gaming #assassinscreed www.podbean.com/ew/pb-gm3j8-...
unlabelledView post →They also conveniently decided to cut the Freedom Cry DLC for Black Flag which also just happens to involve a former slave freeing other slaves. I would totally buy their explanation that they just wanna focus on Edward's story if it wasn't for the aforementioned Civil War game being canned.
unlabelledView post →Multiplayer I can sort of get but why not bundle in Freedom Cry? Or are the themes of freeing slaves from Europeans too political for these times?
unlabelledView post →Didn't realise I never played the DLC campaign Freedom Cry and the season pass is currently on sale for about $5 so why not, after this it's checking out Assassin's Creed Rogue (the 7th gen game made the same time as Unity, and I'm told far better than Unity) then I'm not sure, we'll see
unlabelledView post →Who gives a shit if 1/3rd of the country gets mad over a freed slave protagonist in a post-Civil War era I sure as hell would love playing that game, especially since I hadn't played AC for a while Hell, there was that Freedom Cry DLC I played for AC 4 where you kill the slaveowners
unlabelledView post →Didn’t they already do a similar idea in the DLC for 4? I remember playing “Freedom Cry” and thinking it would be neat as a full game.
unlabelledView post →Just finished playing Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry. It's nice to have a smaller game (I know it's also a former DLC of Black Flag) even though I recently played Liberation HD which was also a smaller AC game. Same as all AC games I played I never feel completely in control movement wise.
unlabelledView post →One of everyone's favorites of this series, BLACK FLAG, features a freed slave named Adewale who is Edward Kenway's quartermaster & conscience until he joins the Assassin's himself and stars in the game's featured DLC - "Freedom Cry." But that game released pre-GamerGate, so it "doesn't count."
unlabelledView post →The gameplay wasn't as good as the later games but I enjoyed learning about syphilis. Think I preferred Freedom Cry to the main game even though it was so brief.
unlabelledView post →Playing AC Freedom Cry now. Reminds me that the worst mission in Rogue is hunting down Adewale. You spend one whole game with the guy as your quartermaster, and then you run around the Caribbean freeing slaves as him in this. Shay even feels guilty and admits that he's a great guy.
unlabelledView post →Finally getting around to Castlevania Nocturne. If Konami wasn't cowards, we'd have an Annette/Eduard game based around the Haitian slave revolt. But since they are, I guess imma gonna have to go play Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry again.
unlabelledView post →The first game had a Syrian, muslim protagonist. Then we got our first Black assassins in Liberation spin-off & Freedom Cry DLC for AC Black Flag. Later, more female assassins joined the iconic cast. An Indian assassin & a Chinese assassin from Chronicles. A few years ago, we got an Iraqi assassin.

unlabelledView post →Game 26: Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry. I thought it would be fun to revisit this after BFR. Ultimately I wish it was a larger expansion or full-sized game so it could expand on its ideas more, & unfortunately it has the bad mission design of OG BF. Still a fun micro AC experience though. 3 Hours
unlabelledView post →This week's plans are gonna be plenty of fun gaming for us! Mon - 9hr Triple Game Stream Tues - AC4 Freedom Cry Wed - SWTOR Thurs - Polls🔗in bio Fri - Mario Kart World
unlabelledView post →Every time I read anything about AC: Black Flag, my mind immediately converts that to "Freedom Cry" because that was the only reason I wanted to play that game at all I don't even like Assassin's Creed that much, but the lure of being an African killing slave owners was too much to resist
unlabelledView post →Let’s be honest. Freedom Cry will probably return later as paid DLC 👀 And that’s frustrating. We’re getting a remake of a game not even 20 years old with more than half of its original content removed while other studios have raised the bar for what a remake can be.
unlabelledView post →Even just how this is built in is so unique. I think the closest comp I can think of to jumping in as different assassin, is going from Edward in Black Flag to Adéwalé in the Freedom Cry DLC It almost plays as though it replaces the modern day stuff to, since this game just has cut scenes for that
unlabelledView post →My current AC ranking, not including Chronicles; deserves its own list. (Also, Unity is really nostalgic for me but the game is ergh) Brotherhood 😄 ACII 😄 ACI 😄 Odyssey 😄 ACIII 😃 Black Flag+ Freedom Cry 😃 Syndicate 😃 Origins 😁 Rogue 😁 Revelations 😊 Mirage 😊 Valhalla 🙂 Unity ☹️ Shadows 😑 Liberation 😠
unlabelledView post →Freedom Cry rocked, I wish we got a whole game of just that I also really liked Liberation, especially its disguise system
unlabelledView post →I hope one day Adewale's Freedom Cry DLC gets a similar treatment. Truly an astonishing slice of history and game narrative I've never forgotten. If you revisit updating more past games in a similar fashion to Black Flag, I wouldn't be mad.
unlabelledView post →We have finished up Edward's story in AC4! Been a fun time on it again! Love this game so much! We'll be back for any remaining collectables and the Freedom Cry DLC! @drunkratt.bsky.social is going nuts and causing havoc in Overwatch! FIRE IN THE HOLE: www.twitch.tv/drunkratt
unlabelledView post →I hadn't felt such a level of responsibility for a fictional video game character since perhaps sneaking around on the plantations in 'Assassins Creed: Freedom Cry', trying to avoid getting the slaves killed with my clumsiness. It's really great stuff. 17/21
unlabelledView post →@ironweedspod.bsky.social Re: your most recent episode... There is an Assassin's Creed game called Freedom Cry where you play a former slave in the 18th century West Indies where you kill slavers
unlabelledView post →That AC game based off post Civil War being cancelled is hilarious because Ubisoft did a game where you do play as a slave and fight off slave traders and liberating the enslaved and was a standalone dlc for AC4 Black Flag called Freedom Cry.
unlabelledView post →They should go back and make AC: Freedom Cry a complete game. Adewale deserved better.
unlabelledView post →This is also ignoring that they actually did make a game with similar context in Assassin's Creed : Freedom Cry. It just boggles that they were that concerned enough to pivot away, and that I also agree with them that it's probably not worth the headache if your not going to do it right.
unlabelledView post →Look, my favorite moment in the franchise was the Freedom Cry DLC for Black Flag, if only because it let you mercilessly butcher slavers with a machette. I would have LOVED to play an Assassin's Creed game where you slay Klan members. Imagine the sweet, sweet, catharsis in that!
unlabelledView post →Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Freedom Cry! Title is getting longer, but game is getting shorter! Time for the DLC where we play as Adé and free some slaves! twitch.tv/modernnecro
unlabelledView post →Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag! Having finished the game yesterday, we're starting today off with some collecting in the main-game, mostly doing the forts and some smaller collecting things, and then it's time to do some Legendary Ships! Expect Freedom Cry to start as well twitch.tv/modernnecro
unlabelledView post →🚨 Update 🚨 It's been a minute. Still working on Black Flag. Been focusing on the multiplayer. Was a bit rough but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. So happy to have it done, plus the Blackbeards Wrath DLC. Now onto the Freedom Cry DLC then back to the main game.
unlabelledView post →It’s fun, played a little bit of it this morning. There’s an older game where you go after plantation owners in Haiti. Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry
unlabelledView post →Following Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, we have Pirates, the mobile tie-in game, and Freedom Cry, a genuinely BOLD story DLC with emotional scenes that really pack a punch in a very unique way for the series. #assassinscreed #assassinscreedblackflag #gaming #ubisoft #pirates
