unlabelledView post →To the mahjong heads out there: last night, a mahjong roguelike called Demonic Mahjong released on Steam. I haven't played too much yet but early impressions are very positive! It's doing a very different thing from Aotenjo, the other mahjong roguelike. store.steampowered.com/app/3444020/...
unlabelledView post →There's a balatro like mahjong game called Aotenjo in the makings. I believe soon it will be in early access.
unlabelledView post →Managed to get a round of Aotenjo in during my lunch break This game is pretty great 🀄
unlabelledView post →It's been a disjointed week for me, but I WILL BE STREAMING! LIVE! At 5PM MST. I'm going to be playing the new Balatro-like Mahjong Tile game, #Aotenjo. then at 7PM MST, I'm going to be joined by Kyubey to read along with "The Murder of #SonictheHedgehog. unlabelledView post →I wouldn't describe myself as a total gearhead, but I enjoyed the hell out of Gran Turismo 2 and 4 growing up. I picked up the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer and, suffice to say, this game is tight. Now I have Aotenjo, KH2, Balatro, -AND- TXR to fight over where my time and attention are going 😖
unlabelledView post →Next the award for COOLEST BUT NICHE GAME goes to: Aotenjo! This game started as the obvious (balatro-mahjong), but slowly become my favorite type of game, where it doesn't care as much about balance as itdo adding every new idea it can. If you like mahjong and fiddly balatro-likes, it's awesome.
unlabelledView post →Full run playthrough for a game of Aotenjo. Craaaaazy setup from the get-go leads me to absolutely beating the crap out of it. Might not be a bad way to learn tile game, actually, given its ease with Balatro in mind. It's on Steam - link in description. #blutoid #mahjong youtu.be/Qa690LLwYbU
unlabelledView post →this is the bonus game mode in Mahjong Soul that they have up for like two more months. it's pretty fun, but if you want to play Balatro Mahjong then I also recommend Aotenjo on steam store.steampowered.com/app/3066570/...
unlabelledView post →I regret to inform you that there is a "Balatro, but it's Mah Jong" game on Steam called Aotenjo that is in early release for under $10
unlabelledView post →There's probably more games that fit this category in my library, just need to sort through all... 1150+ of them. But there's a couple of game I already know will fit nicely, I just need to either buy (Aotenjo) or for the game to actually come out (All in Abyss) to add.
unlabelledView post →Tokyo Xtreme early access: done. Today: wrap up the Kingdom Hearts 2 finale (maybe a teeny bit of post-game as a treat) After: back to the roguelite grind with Aotenjo and Balatro 🀄🃏
unlabelledView post →There's this idea about "The Sanctity of Mahjong" in that you aren't supposed to defile it in certain ways when you create a mahjong game, and I think Aotenjo is the first mahjong game I've come across that personally crosses that line for me. its a great way to learn yakus tho so its not all bad.
unlabelledView post →And in another hand of that same game, I managed to recognize + cash in on an actual Yaku (Mixed Triple Sequence) I learned thanks to playing it fairly often in Aotenjo! Even did (or at least thought about) some defensive play as I saw others getting close to finishing their hands, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
unlabelledView post →When i get back from spending time with family, I'll be streaming some 🀄Aotenjo: Infinite Hands🀄! This is that game i was gonna stream the demo of that one time. Mahjong meets Balatro meets. idk. maybe Heaven-on-High? Keep an eye out for a Live notif! [ #vtuber #envtuber #vsky ]
unlabelledView post →You have to unlock scoring hands throughout the run which helps it not get overwhelming while ALSO teaching you to memorize the hands! (the game is called Aotenjo!)
unlabelledView post →The game you’re looking for is Aotenjo: Infinite Hands. It’s on Steam.
unlabelledView post →might be time to learn Riichi Mahjong: Aotenjo rules but another game whose name I'm failing to remember if making the rounds. Riichi is really fun!
unlabelledView post →Picked up Demonic Mahjong, and as far as "Balatro but mahjong" goes, I already like what it's doing much more than Aotenjo. It does use Chinese terms rather than Japanese terms (e.g. chow/pung/kong instead of chi/pon/kan), which takes some getting used to, but it's not that big of a deal.
unlabelledView post →Not included: Wagotabi, Reality Break, Nubby's Number Factory, Aotenjo: Infinite Hands (haven't played enough yet), SW Ep. I Jedi Power Battles (remaster). Notes: Witchfire is a shoe-in if it hits 1.0 before the end of the year. Shinobi's also a contender if the full game ends up good.
unlabelledView post →Picked up Aotenjo again last night. It's still my favourite of this type of game
unlabelledView post →Someone already posted Aotenjo, so here’s a couple more. store.steampowered.com/app/3085620/... store.steampowered.com/app/2861660/...
unlabelledView post →Here's this week's schedule. Join me tomorrow for FEZ, because somehow it's been like 10 years and I haven't played *or* gotten spoiled on the game, so it'll be fully blind. Later this week, we have Aotenjo (it's kinda like Balatro but mahjong), and Arcaea as usual on Saturday.
unlabelledView post →Playing Aotenjo, the mahjong roguelike that just came out the other day, and I must say there is something extremely funny about a full hand of akadora tiles.
unlabelledView post →yes I am aware of the upcoming balatro-like mahjong game Aotenjo yes I appreciate you thinking of me and sending me a link 💖
unlabelledView post →And if I wanted to get SUPER nitpicky (which I don't 😽), I would say Aotenjo is truer to Balatro, because it's JUST the game itself with no attempt at an overhanging plot or context. With its characters and vague plot, DM is rather more like Slay the Spire, with combat replaced with clacky tiles. :)
unlabelledView post →I did imply that playing through Indika would be a better use of time of your time. So sure, I'm game. Here are my top 50 50: Fragile (2020) 49: A Dark Room (2013) 48: Aotenjo: Infinite Hands (2025) 47: Queers in Love at the End of the World (2013) 46: Despelote (2025)
unlabelledView post →So a game called Aotenjo was brought to my attention late last night and its Mahjong Balatro And as a Mahjong guy, my time has coome
unlabelledView post →Aotenjo: Infinite Hands (Game, 2025) It's mahjong Balatro. You already know whether you want this or not. Conceptually very cool, and the few games I did play, I enjoyed. But it didn't hook into me like Balatro did. I don't think I got the time for these kinds of roguelikes that I used to.
unlabelledView post →Download and play the game Aotenjo: Infinite Hands on Steam. It's like Balatro, but with Mahjong. Really helps to start thinking about hand shape. Totally useless for stuff like "reading discards" and whatnot though.
unlabelledView post →Inventorix is a neat run-based score-go-up game similar to Balatro, Aotenjo, etc.; the key difference is that instead of building a deck, you're arranging items to trigger huge combos. It feels pretty early (certain item types are just Bad), but I enjoyed it! store.steampowered.com/app/2500460/...
unlabelledView post →WAH I didnt realize Aotenjo came out! I played the shit out of the demo - gonna have to try the full game this week! How is it??
unlabelledView post →Balatro (Aotenjo is acceptable for similar reasons) you could also just play a roblox tycoon game, like Miner's Haven
unlabelledView post →Aotenjo: Infinite Hands by XO Cat It's like Balatro but with Mahjong tiles. I'm better at it than mr joker game :( Fun! Love me an entire hand of dragon tiles.
unlabelledView post →Back at it with the indie obscurities, time for some roguelike #Mahjong with ✨ #Aotenjo✨ Ya like ✨Balatro?✨ You can think of Aotenjo as newgame+ ✨Aotenjo takes that formula, and applies it to a completely different, better suited style of game!✨ ✨Come join in @ twitch.tv/dazedraco ✨
unlabelledView post →Aotenjo is a very silly game.
unlabelledView post →We're about to go live on twitch.tv/masterslipping going to be trying out the new game #Aotenjo!
unlabelledView post →Going to mess around with a game I'm real bad at to try to learn. Aotenjo: Infinite Hands! www.twitch.tv/frankoogt
unlabelledView post →I was skeptical at first but this Balatro-style Mahjong game Aotenjo works really well! You build a hand one set + pair at a time, replacing the pair each time until your hand is complete. Check my last vod if you want to see how it plays! store.steampowered.com/app/3066570/...
unlabelledView post →[game] Aotenjo: Infinite Hands still haven't even played balatro (i know) but i've been looking forward to this game since hearing about it, and it totally lives up to my expectations, this is a ton of fun. really accessible & compulsively playable. looking forward to digging more into its depths

In that game, each hand not only has a Mult value but a Chips value, to give you a solid base to build off of. Aotenjo’s hands all provide cumulative Fan. gameplay.tips/guides/aoten...

unlabelledView post →🔴 Offline Aotenjo was a lot of fun, even as somebody with no Mahjong experience! It plays well, and like Balatro. I even managed to get a clear in the demo. *u* Thank you for the raid, @neptuneevo.bsky.social! We raided @sakoneko.bsky.social! She's playing Risk of Rain 2: twitch.tv/sakoneko
