negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like most ANNO, this isn't a Steam game. Requires Ubiconnect account login and connection Doesn't work if you're offline Includes Denuvo DRM And it's still pricy Sure, there's an all right ANNO game under all that, and if you know/like ANNO, you already know if you'll like the game. So the review is purely on those business decisions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is 4 hours of gameplay stretched across 20 hours of samey time-wasting crap (and its "replay-ability" is another 50 hours stretched across the corpse of the first 24). Requires UbisoftConnect (the new, much worse version of UPLAY) to launch. Has always-online features that are broken more often than working. Trying to get Ubisoft to address an issue is even more difficult than trying to explain an issue to their support staff (literally ripping my computer apart with my bare hands sounded…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am completely done with having to register an account with each company. Make this fresh hell stop. You've already got my money, do you need my personal information to sell for that much more? Pathetic. You'll get a thumbs up when you stop this crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot be launched in '25 as UPlay is not installed, won't be installed via steam and isn't actually required by the game on the store page to be launched (linking an account and installing a 3rd party launcher are not the same thing.) Sale of this should be illegal and those responsible should be jailed.

They had a voting system with a Council that would modify certain bonuses periodically in the game...really unnecessary and I never really used it but now Ubi disabled it and the various other council members now harass you endlessly after a few hours of play. They constantly mention how you forgot to vote. Same dialog. Over and over again, perhaps every few minutes. Darn shame. Loved this game.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2025 and the game's missing a whole mechanic. The council system is greyed out permanently, and that strips out a good bit of the management systems. It seems the bug was fixed at one point, but its back now and Im just bummed :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Notice: Purchases made in this region will only receive the Russian language. That's straight offensive in 2026.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not loading game due to problems with Uconnect DRM same as all Ubisoft games from Ubisoft in Steam
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not purchase Ubisoft games on Steam. Ubisoft Connect makes it impossible to play them offline and creates other hassles that ruin the experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This and the other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tittles, i could like them and i do like the Games but the Uplay requirement kill these games for me, there is no reason to need this stuff. Can'r recommend for these reason.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →!!!!Forces you to use ubisoft's app but wont open it correctly when you hit play!!! Once I got past the issues with "U Play App." game was working and it runs fine. it will pop up with ad's on boot to force open pages for you to pay more money. still cant recommend due to App. I shouldn't have to fix your app issues to play the game I spent my money on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great, but UbiSoft is so cumbersome and incompetent that you have to beg the game to let you play. Log ins, emails, passwords, reboots... and sometimes it still does not work. Never buy games from Ubisoft.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me, this is the best Anno in the series. It is more a city builder than resource management like other Anno games, but that is exactly why I prefer it. It is the only Anno in sci-fi setting and the scope is much larger. In other Annos, you focus on few villages and cities. In 2205 You have to mannage giant metropoles across the planet and the moon! (and maybe even mars) The story can be done relatively quickly, but the main challange is to get to 4.000.000 population, as that is the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Anno 2205 feels like I was running a megacorporation instead of a single city. The “multiple regions” system is brilliant: temperate zones, arctic production chains, and then the moon. Building an integrated corporate empire where every region has a role. Each zone has its own look, challenges and music, so jumping between them feels like juggling different subsidiaries of one giant company. I also really enjoyed the stock market: buying shares, defending your position and seeing your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Online features are not online anymore and game keeps bugging you about online features that are no longer working otherwise good game but should not be sold anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Online support has been dropped, voiding a couple of systems they had in place and a couple of achievements too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →luv this game and was enjoying a round of playing when i adjusted the screen size - i have an ultra wide monitor and it has a known bug that does not support ultra wide monitors - now i can not access 20 percent of the screen and game is unplayable - there is no fix - ubisoft support states that they are not gonna fix it - even thou they are completely aware of it and can easy fix it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game. For the life of me I cannot understand people who have negative reviews. I'm lying. Some of them I do understand. The guy says you can't extract enough water to build what you need. He probably was so short-attention-span he never got to learn the booster modules we can attach to all production facilities. In any case never trust people who write reviews with less than 10 hours in a game. This Anno game is futuristic so some mechanics are different to the other anno games and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There might be a good game in here somewhere, but if you're a fan of the other Anno games, this one does not have what made the others good. It feels extremely paint by numbers where your decision making space is extremely limited, and feels like you're constantly limited. Do you want to massively build out the bottom of your economy so that you can then grow up very quickly? Too bad you can't because you're limited by not having enough potable water in a setting with orbital elevators and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey, did you remember to vote? I'm certain you simply forgot to vote. You must've been very busy if you forgot to vote. Do you think you could stay on the sidelines forever? There's still time to vote wisely. My apologies for not reminding you to vote. We assumed you were not interested in voting. The few minutes it takes to vote can have a profound effect on the market. Decisions, decisions, right? You can still make a decision by voting on us.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a worthless, non-functional piece of trash. It wasn't this bad the last time I had played it, but it is awful now. Inside of one hour, I encountered 3 gamebreaking bugs. All of them required me to alt-f4 to try and reset the game, and the 3rd time i had to do this the game hung as it tried to exit, requiring me to sign in and out of my PC's account. It is not worth ever picking up these days because Ubisoft will never fix it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is broken, the voting system and market don't work anymore. Ubisoft will not add a new patch to solve this bug. They say the moved on to a new game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not that the game is bad, the gameplay is typical for a Anno, but man... it so easy, the campaign is a joke, each game is easy to a point where it becomes boring. You always have enough to do everything, the buildings are easy to place, what happened ? The other game presented a challenge, force you to think and plan ahead... here don't worry, you can do anything and still win.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So basic and simplistic it feels like an Android phone game. Buildings are not constructed they are just plonked down fully built and ready to work. There is no challenge. The combat is not strategic or tactical in anyway, just command and conqueresque with all units have the same manoeuvrability and speed etc, only difference is combat range. I lost interest very quickly. I have heard people raving about the Anno series for years as a direct challenger to the civ franchise so I was looking…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool Setting, poor mechanics. Play anno 1800 instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game way more than I expected! I originally skipped Anno 2205 back in the day because of it's differences to previous Anno titles (no on-map rivals, etc.), but it turns out I really enjoy this game! The Maps are beautiful to look at - even today. There's a wide variety of different biomes: Temperate, Arctic and Moon (even Thundra, if you have the expansion) with great atmosphere in each of them and unique buildings and production chains. It's fun and can also be quite challenging,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No Continous game mode as is expected from an ANNO game. That alone was reason enough for me to seek a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft Connect is absolute garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was not able to play, tried to get resolved. Was not able to get resolved because it was very difficult to contact developer i would say impossible. Steam takes no fault nor does developer. Cant get refund even though they can see i never played game. Says 2.7 hours play apparently trying to start game is play time. Zero achievements no saved game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anno 2205 is a bold and futuristic entry in Ubisoft’s long-running city-building and economic simulation series, taking the franchise into space for the first time. As with previous titles, the core of the game revolves around developing thriving cities, managing supply chains, and meeting the evolving needs of your population. However, Anno 2205 distinguishes itself by shifting the setting to the near future and introducing a multi-tiered global (and lunar) economic system. While it retains…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came here to play games. Not to debug your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable. The loading screens animation ist approx 10 times the speed it should have and there is no sound. there seems some kind of compatibility issue. i cannot play this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its absolutely stupid that I need to connect to Ubisoft to play this game because my steam works fine. Now I can't play the game because Ubisoft decided not to function. The game is sadly fun but Ubisoft incompetence makes it so the game is not worth purchasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some achievements can never be achieved anymore
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anno 2205 is a bit different from the traditional Anno formula, but I genuinely enjoy it. It is more streamlined and perhaps a little less complex in some areas, but the huge cities, modern futuristic setting, multiple regions, Arctic development, and eventually building on the Moon make it really fun to play. I own all the DLCs, and with all the additional content there is plenty to do. I especially like the feeling of starting with a relatively small operation and eventually managing…

Huge value for $USD. 🌙 Still looks good from Earth to the Moon – For a 2015 game, the graphics aged really well. Cities look clean, the Moon missions are cool, and it runs smoothly on the Steam Deck. 📖 Story that keeps you grounded – Easy to follow and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very nice anno, simpler but much more streamlined than its predecessor, there is tons of stuff to do and its gonna take a lot of hours to finish everything, very enjoyable 7.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's so weird and all over the place.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first ANNO game I've played and it's visually stunning and given it's age, that's really saying something.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it might be a fun game, but I can't stand the constant harassment about voting with the Council, which is a deactivated online feature that cannot be turned off without modding. I'm out. Eff Ubisoft for how much they loathe their customer base.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keeps the mind busy. Great at my age.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →on a 1-10, for a city builder/colonizer game, I give this a 7.5. Worth the cost, but nothing really amazing. Good for killing time, and messing around. I enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't care what they say, I really like the setting of this game and thus it will always be a thumbs up for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thoroughly enjoyed this game, the city building and resource matching, minigame ship battles, economy building and setting up routes, the mini challenges, development of complexity as the cities grew. Lots of fun for someone who likes city-builder games and sci-fi games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly quite like it. Its a very casual Anno with no real condition resulting in a loss. For some it might be lacking depth in gameplay which I understand. But if you dont really have the time to get into an Anno game like 1800 and still want a fun city builder, this works great. Buying up the stocks of your competition was especially fun for me since it gives you BlackRock powers. I saw alot of negative reviews regarding ubisoft connect. As allways with ubisoft games its kind of luck based.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's alright. The end game is just building massive amounts of housing. That's it. Build houses then update supply chain to supply houses, repeat. Lacks depth. Feels soulless after 50+ hours. But you do enjoy spending your freetime interacting with a lifeless machine, don't you?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ubisoft launcher on a steam deck ((
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clean, futuristic styles and smooth gameplay. Get all the DLCs if possible. It's not 1800 but still a really decent and entertaining game. Especially the ''Evolutionary leap'' was a great challenge. The only downside I experienced was that the servers sometimes go offline and certain features in game do not work until Ubisoft fixes/resets them. It could take anywhere from a couple of hours to several days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game. Music, gameplay and the graphical design are all very well made.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Store page says Russian language is supported, but the game does not actually have Russian in-game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this could be a great game as i lked the setting better than 1800 but unfortunately this game has been abandoned by ubisoft. The council voting is gone and now npcs keep spamming you to vote which does not work anymore and is really anoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's an extremely annoying bug - an NPC will annoy you about every 90 seconds about not voting in an election that players no longer have access to. There's a fan mod that used to fix this but doesn't seem to work in the current version (as of Oct 2025).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, would like to see more expasion into combat, will be picking up anno 117 to see where they take the series, but anno 1800 was a great game as well
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics are beautiful, and the city building of the game follows through for that futuristic feel. However, the combat is tedious and arcade-like, with the enemy faction seemingly coming straight out of a comic book with the typical villain style. I can easily agree that this game was targeted mostly for the simple-minded in terms of diplomacy and combat, with a higher focus on city building - which means the story is severely lacking in immersion. I recommend only getting on sale, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought I might try this out again after a while but I can't log into Ubisoft. Tried the obvious remedies as per their website but no luck. Puts me off buying anything by them going forward.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game a few days ago and I have been playing it for a bit over 10 hours now, on Linux. The game itself is very good. My first Anno was 1800, 2 years ago, then I moved onto 117, both on console, then I decided to give it a shot and try the older Anno games on Linux. So I got 2205 first, it is different from the others, both in terms of its futuristic setting and also for the production chain management: for instance, production buildings have modules, you sell goods directly at the…
