unlabelledView post →Anno 117 is a competent city builder, but the game feels like a step down from Anno 1800 in almost every way except graphically. #SteamDeck performance impressions are coming soon. A copy was provided by Ubisoft for review. steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews...

unlabelledView post →For the last 9 months, I’ve had weekly #BoardGames Nights with a couple that I met online. One of them has consistently been a sore loser. This evening, she threw a screaming fit because her spouse ended Anno 1800 more quickly than she’d’ve liked. She wouldn’t let anybody score the game. 🧵 1 of 2

So games by Martin Wallace, Elizabeth Hargrave, Ed Beach and Reiner Knizia. Not a bad weekend!

unlabelledView post →The Anno 1800 loading screens were so full of charm and character- they always made me excited to play the game- they actually matched the weird blended ahistorical mish mash mirror world setting that is central to the fun of Anno games. These AI screens are so generic. Literally!

I then have to do some dance of closing game & Ubisoft Connect in the correct order, then restarting, before it works

This is a nice fix that everyone should apply to the base game rules anyway.

There is something very satisfying about the checking off the needs of one person after another until your hand is empty. Any game out there that does this better? Or maybe someone could make it?
