I like the underlying concept but it has a lot of unresolved jank. Some of this I hope will be polished up for the final release but until then I'm not holding my breeath. - The build controls are a bit weird, and not as smooth as other factory games that have figured this stuff out. - It would be nice to be able to see through constructions to build underneath, but not sure if the game is capable of patching that in. - Some ratios are way off. Upgrading your machine processing speed can…

If you're playing it for the factory aspect, it's really good. My only disappointment is that as someone who really loves the wonder of alchemy, there's not a lot of stuff to make you feel at home with the building in this game. It's almost purely focused on the factory part and not much on the aesthetic of your typical alchemist house. Lacks decoration, paint, nice emissions on the potions you're selling. Instead they're sold in these leather sacks instead of glass vials. I get the idea…

It's really unfortunate because its so close to being an excellent game, then it throws it all away. It starts off as a really well thought out factory sim and shop keeper sim. Balancing the purchase and production of materials and goods with the profits they bring. But by mid/late game it turns into a slog where you can't seem to turn a profit until the cauldron takes over everything. Since for some reason, you can put in random garbage and get the material you want as output. Ruining the…

Where’s the Alchemy? What I Liked What I like most about this game is that it is a lot easier to see my overall automation. Compared to games like Satisfactory, everything is on a smaller scale. This does not reduce how complicated it is though. But it’s nice being able to walk up and seeing my entire production line of a product and see how it’s working. What I Did Not Like My problem with most of these games is that sometimes unlocks don’t enhance the production line, it requires…

Too tedious, not satisfying. I don’t think the game is bad overall, but the aspect that appealed to me the most — the factory — isn’t enjoyable enough. I still support the devs to continue developping and polishing the game, as I think the base is solid. Here is a quick summary : Good : - Shop management, similar to other shop simulator games - Progression system - Quests - The granularity of building (which also comes with drawbacks) - Some recipe ideas (like using fuel and plants to…

Honestly, going into this game, I expected a little, somewhat short game about automating the brewing of various alchemical supplies. I did NOT expect how fleshed out it is, and while it isn't perfect (why are belts slower than advertised?) It is a Really really fun experience. This game is much more focused on building compactly, which is also obvious in the choice of building sizes, basically everything you build is tiny, transports tiny items, and seeing little catapults fling items…

Some things of note. This is one of those fantasy shop games that runs off an asset store template. You know them when you see it. That said, the store part is just for off-loading resources, the actual game is a rather well made factory game. The one noticeable difference here is that your factories are small models, train set scale, and are very stackable. Things go vertical without being overwhelming because it only comes up to your shoulders. Transport uses a lot of throwing items around,…

Positive: This game is a beautiful mixture of Satisfactory and Supermarket Simulator. Its a cosy experience with great pacing and steady expansion. Negative: To level up you need to maintain store reputation by maintaining stock of items customers want (similar to supermarket simulator's system) Currently i feel the punishment is too harsh for not maintaining as the reputation decays far too quickly. There is also no end of the day report for what customers wanted and couldn't find so you find…

I've only just started but I can definitely see it has great potential. I normally wait for reviews to come out before I buy a game, but my Satisfactory itch was acting up so I took the risk and bought this game as soon as it released. What I'm enjoying so far is that everything is nice and small so I don't have to waste a bunch of time running around as I did in Satisfactory. My factory's were never efficiently grouped, and my power was always going out so I would have to run clear across…

This game gets very detail heavy very quickly. I requested a refund personally, but it's likely a good game for people who like factory games, and the maths, and the re-working involved. It needs a sense of "why". There is no "why" for what you are doing and no "homey" feeling like you are building something for your character. Possibly there is a "homey" feeling but the curve is so steep you don't get to bask in it. You are sweating from the first bits. It's all about what you like in games…

I want so much to like this game, I love games about running a little shop, and factory games. The game's progression limitations and ideas of how you will play are limited, limiting, and unobvious. There is an intended "how to play" which is inflexible and annoying. After 20 hours or so, I thought I was ready to finally make my "final" layout, giving myself the room I needed to build up, connect to other adjacent plots, and redo my store layout. I spent time lovingly planning out the spacing…

over 2k hours in factorio, hundreds in satisfactory and this game comes really close. The combination of everything being so small and being able to comfortably create blueprints, also to just move things around, makes it so much more enjoyable to me than satisfactory. on the Roadmap the devs included a shrinking machine, which i am very hyped about, this will make it even better because we'll be able to not just create factory blocks and close them off, but also enter them to troubleshoot.…

All I need to recommend this game to others is for there to be less penalty for refactoring your setup. It took me 20 minutes of picking up little bags and putting the contents into boxes after deleting my whole plot. A quick fix would be an unlimited/virtual box that can only receive items from deconstruction. Focus on fun.

Seemed more fun in concept than in practice. I was hoping for less factory focus and more shopkeep, and the abliity to get to the more alchemy or magical themed items feels like it took quite a bit longer than necessary. The game feels very barren anywhere outside of the main interactable item areas, and working with such small items with only a standing and crouched height can be a pixel finding game a lot of times. Needs quite the qol overhaul before it's in a recommendable state. If it…

A very satisfying factory game with some of the automation you can design. I got VERY good at building incredibly complicated designs in a very compact space that looked stunning to watch flow. And the game itself has no hitches! Smooth as butter, zero drops in frames, I didn't encounter any glitches... genuinely well optimised - for me at least - in this moment. So why the negative review? UI is okay - house building definitely could be better! Look around your little village and it's…

I shouldn't write a review for this because I got stuck playing it for 8 hours straight. Man is this addicting to get the production chains right. I haven't felt like this since Tekkit. It definitely is a bit rough around the edges and is a bit punishing for a factory game, but if you're used to placing single blocks in Minecraft, it has got that feel. I wish I had known about the "V" key bind for the recipes. It might have told me in the tutorial that I skipped. SO GLAD I could skip that. I…

RECOMMENDED IT AT FULL PRICE, even if the DEVs abandon the game today, it already offers many hours of fun solving puzzles. But don’t be fooled by its cozy appearance — it’s a game that ends up being quite complex, more than Factorio (pre-DLC) or Satisfactory. Problems most likely due to the low budget or to being an indie game with few developers. - There is no story. The medieval setting begs for a few quests or alternate storylines to break up the day-to-day routine. very minor issue,…

This looked really promising in Early Access, but I was disappointed in the 1.0 release. Much of the jank that was excusable for an Early Access game was left unaddressed, and the "shop" aspect is incredibly shallow. If you removed the gold cost of items and just threw your products into the void, the gameplay would be identical. This might be a cynical take, but I get the impression the dev made a lot of money in early access and simply decided to go enjoy being rich instead of working…

Pros: - Sunk a bunch of hours in already and still enjoying the challenge. - Optimizing the footprint and expansion of your designs. - Selling things fired by cannons, cool. Cons: - The pathing of the NPCs is atrocious, they block each other and walk into obstacles, then pause and magically grab or deposit as they time-out/give-up. I really enjoy the idea of this game, it's a bit overwhelming though - as the production lines get more complicated I've really struggled to come to terms with the building constraints, unwanted byproducts, and general spreadsheet-mandatory vibe of the game. Alchemy Factory is a game that takes a lot of the fun aspects of factory games and condenses it into a shop management sim in an amazing fashion. You can tell just based on how "achievable" goals are at each tier that the dev put a LOT of thought into production chains and that they also have a deep amount of love for the automation genre. The game starts off slow, but around Tier 5 you start to feel how well thought out production chains are made. Relics are practically made to deal with…

This game rules. It does three things really well outside of just being fun. 1) it doesn’t sweat the order of things. It somehow feels like well balanced gameplay to both streamline the main quest and putz around building and rebuilding the same recipes over and over to make it faster or prettier. I’m really impressed that I never feel rushed to move onto the next quest but that I’m not overwhelmed by the options I unlock each level. 2) the economy seems well considered. While everything is less than the gold standard Satisfactory, it's still addictive has heck and easy to build in, in some ways it is even more convenient, such as quick blueprinting, area select, copy paste or move sections. The recipes later on seem convoluted for no reason and i would prefer if progression was some "level up town global stats" vs just expanding building area. The in-game universe (customers, vendors) could use some fleshing out because it does feel pretty empty when you aren't actively neck-deep in factory logistics, but for an early access game, it's to be expected.

Kind of an "Anti-Satisfactory"! Instead of building "BIG" you build really small. Now they get bigger over time and Blue Prints are a big deal. Takes a bit getting used to the mechanics. Very Fun game. I look forward to may hours of play.

I only wish it was more cozy and easier to make a nicer shop instead of being 99.9% focused on the factory behind it
