Airport Madness: World Edition
Developer Big Fat Simulations Inc.
Insanely addictive, easy to learn, impossible to master! Airport Madness is an airport strategy game. Designed by real air traffic controllers, Airport Madness captures the fun aspects of air traffic control. The decisions and actions you make in this game are identical to real-world airport ops. It is a very simple and enjoyable game with slight lack of content. If this review is too long for you, I suggest you to only read the first paragraph about the game's content and the final verdict at the end. What is happening in the game: You have to control the airport and all the planes in a way that doesn't end with a crash. At least not for some time. By clicking on airplanes, you can manage when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way back in the day -- back in 1986 and when the Commodore-64 was king, there was this game by Microprose called, "Kennedy Approach." It rocked. Thank God for "Fast Hack'em" is all I have to say. One of the cool things about the game (and the Commodore-64 in general) was the speech. It was pretty cool to hear air traffic controllers communicating with airplanes. Like everyone, sometimes I am somewhat nostalgia and I remember this game fondly and with a certain amount of yearning -- I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airport Madness: World Edition is -not- exactly a simulator or whatever else.. it's more of a casual game that you can pick up without thinking too much about storylines, things to keep in mind, complex controls, quests or whatever else.. It's the sixth game in this series and contains 12 airports that exist in real life - your goal as an air traffic controller of course will be to manage the air traffic that, as the store page says, it's been programmed by real air traffic controllers and even…

I couldn’t last more than 10 minutes until I had to mute it and put on some relaxing music The difficulty ramps up after a while, which makes the game seem unfair. The conclusion: You wanna know if…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Airport Madness a bit when it was available online with Flash, and was it was nice to see it on Steam, but I hesitated a bit because of the price- even though it was a nice enough game, the content I remembered from the Flash version wasn't anywher near what I would expect for 10 Euros. I waited until it was on offer and got it, though there was still a nagging doubt that even that was too much. Airport Madness is pretty much how I remember it- simple but nice enough graphics, simple…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airport Madness: World Edition is the sixth release and a worthy ATC (Air Traffic Controller) RTS contender by Big Fat Simulations Inc within the Airport Madness series of games and beyond. Released in 2014, almost 3 years after the excellent Airport Madness 4, it raised the bar of the ATC simulation genre to a new high, mainly due to moving from the current fantasy style airports into real world examples, in addition to improving gameplay in almost every aspect. Here's why: + A mix of 12…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is more exciting than you might think. It is also quite challenging. I had too many crashes. Basically you try to land as many planes as possible without having a crash. One crash means you're out. You get a variety of airports and airplane types. They have so many Concordes in the game despite the fact these planes have been phased out. I just wanted to point that out. Haha! Anyway, the different airports pose unique challenges. You have airports where the runways don't cross each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the most amazing game ever made, but can be quite fun and challenging to keep all of the aircraft on the screen under control. The latest update added full screen mode that automatically adjusts to your screen resolution plus a settings menu and achievements section. Would definitely recommend for fans of the series or people willing to give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is fun puzzle game. If the subject matter interests you, you'll probably like this to a point. For a casual play through, on slower settings, this game can give hours of fun. More importantly, it is riddled with game-breaking bugs that can take the fun out of the more intense settings. Seeking high scores and the achievements (if you enjoy chasing those) can become quite tedious and while not impossible, certainly not an enjoyable pursuit. Those achievements were why I came back almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has pretty good graphics and is very challenging but on the whole I think I have spent my money wisely and I 100% recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one where I wish steam had a neutral option. Its a casual air traffic management game (not complex enough to be called a simulator). What you get is 12 different airfields (and they do feel and play different from one another). You manage landing, taxi, takeoffs, as well as speed and choosing which runways to use. The game uses 2D graphics, which frankly doesn't bother me one bit. The graphics do not have a negative impact on the gameplay and I find the retro feel to be cute. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I initially bought Airport Madness 3D, didn't really like it, and swapped it out for WE because I heard a top down approach was better. Unfortunately, for me, I really can't see that. It feels to me like a mobile game that's been shoddily ported onto the PC. Whilst I get that for some that's fine (I wouldn't mind this game on a phone), I was expecting it to be better, to have more accurate simulation, to actually be a bit accurate in the way that planes land and do things (5 seconds to refuel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Airport Madness it a great game. It makes you feel under pressure while trying to maintain a safe space for airplanes. For real smooth traffic, play I want Madness on London Heathrow, and designate one runway for only landings and the other for only take-offs. Graphics, cannot really ask for more, since it really is supposed to be like that, just hope that they add more airports and aircraft types in the future. Keep it up Devs! Edit: The game isn't updated any more 8.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashing planes like a G6. Strongly recomended with a good developer who constantly upgrades. However achivements senior airport and silver madness are bugged. Developer could also show the progress for each achivement. Overall great game + MUST BUY.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fairly simple looking, and easy to get a grasp on. But it's very difficult. Even the smallest airport is really hard. It's a fun game to play from time to time, but it can make you rage when you mess up your timing and think a plane will clear but crashes instead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a casual and fun game if you just want to relax for a few minutes. Not too difficult, and has airports from all over the world. On the surface it seems like an air traffic simulator, but that is not the case. It's a casual arcade game with realistic elements. Playing casually in a variety of modes is easy enough, but if you want to get all the achievements and the highest scores, you have to analyze each airport like a puzzle, and choose your arriving and departure schemes accordingly.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games for killing a half hour or so (or a bit longer), when you have it. A nice casual game that allows a variety of options. 10 airfields each with 4 choices of scenerio, and a number of achivements for those that enjoy those.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a hot mess. The key Q/W can cause the planes to change their headings. Planes can collide off-screen after they take off or while in transit (without your direction, which per rules they should not collide). Planes can come flying in unapproved. There's too many concords...lol. Stay away from this low value piece of trash
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure if me and all of the other reviewers even played the same game, because this was a snooze fest. You assume the role of a would-be air traffic controller as you attempt to keep the traffic at a busy airport moving smoothly and without crashes. Generated planes appear every few seconds to land on a random runaway, meaning you must be quick in your reactions and timing. Gameplay is as shallow as clicking on planes and directing them to runaways, to take off, or to taxi, while…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I probably shouldn't have let that Concorde take off after the ATR did...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual but also stressful game. You act as airport controller giving planes order to take off, cross runways and land. Pretty simple until there is couple of airplanes taking off and landing at same time. Much fun if you are into a bit more casual games. Easy way to spend 15 minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of the Airport Madness games
unlabelledView post →Some modes are kinda hectic which keeps the game fun for me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Entertaining game I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice concept for a casual game, hindered by massive amounts of bugs or odd design choices. Planes will crash in places where the game says they can't (untouched planes in the air, planes taxiing), they will go weird places while taxiing, and get stuck. Planes will frequently ignore your orders and land on whatever runway they see fit, even changing their minds several times. Most of these bugs will cause a blockage or a crash, either of which will end your game in most modes. For the most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rate this game 3.5/5. Pretty good. This is probably the preemminent version of airport madness. This is essentially an fairly unrealstic air traffic control puzzle game where you are supposed to try to keep the airplanes at the various runways from running into each other and having accidents as each airport becomes progressively more and more busy until wrecks become inevitable. There are several airports to choose from, the sound effects are increadibly realistic and the music isn't too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very addictive game im suprised how much i play it well worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and addicting game where you take be like an ATC. However this game is not a serious ATC simulator. Its a fun game where you can kill some time trying to manage the madness of air traffic around the airport. If you like airplanes I would highly recommend this game. I would recommend this game period. Looks like they are adding 4 more airports in future updates plus maybe even more airports if you check the forums. Now they added clouds so it makes it even more difficult, however there…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great casual game! Your job is to handle incoming and outgoing airplane traffic at different airports, and try not to crash them. There is no campaign in this game, but you have 4 different mods you can play. Endless traffic, Building up traffic, Move up to 100 airplanes, and I forgot what was the 4th one, but I played mostly these 3 mods. Different airplanes fly at different speeds, so if they intend to land on same runway, you need to take care that slower airplanes expedite quicker off the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A casual air traffic management game, which is mediocre at its best.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →creates an addiction that can last for years. a rough jewel for me: simple and casual to look like a clicker, tricky as it needs real strategy. one of the best in Airport Madness series. UI is old but works as a charm, gameplay is really engaging. if you can cope with old graphics you see in screenshots, give it a chance!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite buggy. Example include planes crashing while taxiing with other planes on the ground (not on a runway and when I'm no longer in control of their movements); airplanes pushing back "infinitely" across active runways; airplanes randomly doing 360s as they're about to land and losing their runway assignment; airplane still flying that act as though they're on the ground. Primarily seems to happy if you're using the keyboard shortcuts (which are quite handy to issue commands quickly).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game, but the bugs make it hard to enjoy. Planes get stuck for seemingly no reason. They even implemented a work-around for this, if a plane gets stuck, the planes BEHIND it get a new button to push, it says "Traffic Jam?" and allows the plane to go through another one. The original stuck plane doesn't get knocked loose, however. Sometimes planes get stuck on the runway, which causes plane crashes and will end your game if you are going any of the challenges. Oh,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game surprised me with how relaxing it can be. The easiest difficulty on Continous Play is pretty forgiving and fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, Airport Madness isn't my kind of game (I like lots of Genres, but not all). I bought it without fully understanding what it was (I mistakenly thought it was a simulation). That said, for people who like these kind of games....it does what it does well. It is more in the vein of Candy Crush than anything else I can think to create an analogy for. LEt's Play vid Below: https://youtu.be/XB6PSKrFAY4 Reccommended only for those who like the Twitch puzzle game Genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's actually not that bad a game, but it's got some game killing bugs that I encountered 3 out of the 8 times I played it. As an example I had a plane waiting to take off but I wasn't able to command it to do so, essentially ending the game unless you are a masochist. If they get the bugs fixed it would be a simple, fun, and challenging time waster.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game and can't wait for both the 3D version and the sim version if sim versions are to be added on steam!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is something of a follow up to the (free) online Airport Madness series, and like most games that began on a website sometime last decade, AM:WE is a simple but entertaining offering. You play an air traffic controller at one of a number of real world airports; your job is to keep the airspace open and runways moving as fast as possible. Fail in this task, and you get to see physics in action as two planes attempt to occupy the same space simultaneously. A simple but addictive task…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game, simple, yet not easy. Reminds me of the old C64 days and the "Kennedy Approach" game I wasted many hours in front of ... I got this on sale for a few bucks, would definitely buy it again during a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great, it plays exactly as you'd expect and is fun adaptation of a well known game. A bit rough and ready on the design and the interface is a little ill-thought out. Would recommend but it's gotta be said, the main reason for crashes isn't the crossovers of runways as the game claims. It's planes just butting into my pattern from the edge with very little warning and no way of controlling it. GAAAAAHH!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairly basic game, but very addictive. Could have some improvements; sometimes to arriving aircraft crash before you've even had a chace to move them. Also you should be able to click on an arriving aircraft and put it into a holding pattern so you don't have to keep flicking it around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game and if you are into planes it's def worth the money. I would def get it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool fun game, just saw the added airport so that is great too. Keep it up, this is a game I will continue to play for a while.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FYI the new update has a bug that stops the audio after you finish a game. You have to completely exit and restart the game for the audio to work properly again. Love game and hope this gets fixed soon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good fun for hours. It is easy to make progress and get achievements as you go, but some of the challenges have not been overcome in many hours of trying. Keeps you coming back!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good but good old crap
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As nice as always! <3 Catches 100% of your focus.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/Qoq3_WLPV54 Offering a wide array of static images for worldly airports only slightly changes up the gameplay options, which for the most part feel far more modest than the recommended madness.
