I basically like the game. However, the devs chose to place a time limit on all missions beside the first few. This makes it no fun at all, as you just have to rush through every mission. Not sure what the reasoning is behind that.

It's just flying from A to B and getting resources on the way. Everything in the game is linear progression. No space exploration, actual mining or building. Just fly close to the resources and they jump in your inventory. All the resources are mostly neatly grouped or chained. Doesn't feel fun to me...

Let me explain some of the bad reviews and my opinion of the game so far. The game has two orbs you use to control your drone. on the left is rcs thrust (handle on the far right for ion thrust), on the right is orientation. orientation is you either put your hand fully into the orb and twist (hard to do full 180 as then you twist your hand and it can hurt but its great for odd or finiky maneuvers) but if you hold onto the rings on the edge, you can spin the sip along one axis a full 360 or…

So far I've just played the first two missions, but I am hooked. The controls themselves are revolutionary and I think other developers should be taking notes. You control a probe from a 3rd person perspective using a visual holographic interface. One hand controls thrust (in all directions) while the other controls the attitude of the probe. This is a pure Newtonian simulation with no shortcuts to make it seem like a space plane, so there is no need for a HOTAS. The inherent challenge of…

Yes, this is a negative review with a recommendation (love it, Valve. Love it). But, gaze upon my initial thoughts if you're on the fence. The game requires UPlay (I'm sure that doesn't surprise you) and that's not the worst thing, I suppose. But the prompt to login doesn't appear in VR, so it looks like it's just hanging if you launch from Home... I love typing in login information in VR. very cozy. Once the game starts, things get interesting! It's designed for a seated experience, so make…

Graphics are meh, first 30 minutes is fly from point a to point b and collect 1 type of resource. For 30 dollars the gameplay so far has not been promising, I'm not inclined to continue honestly. Also let me point out that holding the virtual controls constantly vibrate your controllers which makes it unpleasant and an easy battery drainer, they do however allow you to turn it off.

What a waste, this is not space adventure game, its vacuum cleaner simulator! At least first hour is fly from a to b, collect green rocks, thats all! Controls are very clunky and not immersive, no story other than earth destruction, flying is not fun. Too bad we didnt get game from watchdogs 2 easter egg(

I like the game, but its asking me for Ubisoft login every single time I launch it. Meaning I have to take off the VR headset, go to the monitor and type in my email and password. Despite clicking "Remember me", it doesn't remember. I'll change my review from negative to positive if the devs fix it.

2 hours is far to early to fully review this games, but all the other reviews are already posting negative reviews after the first tutorial level. Interesting mix out of VR and Kerbal Space Program. It's very arcady in comparison, but still fun to play. I actually like the controls. Only negative so far is that the game has a fix up and down which can be bothersome when flying a ship in open space.

Slow start to the game, but after an hour or two it becomes more apparent as to why that was probably more of a design choice. The first 4-5 missions are nothing more than a movement tutorial in reality, perhaps i missed being made aware of that? Either way the control of the probe needs to learned well before moving to more complex environments, and the elongated prologue certainly serves that purpose. I think the developers probably missed a beat in either not making the player aware enough…

The Valve Index controller binding isn't that great. You have to tweak it a bit. I bugged the console to control the drones out of my playspace everytime I moved/turned my camera around and I had to recenter the whole game every damn time.... Maybe in the future it'll get better but in the current state I can't recommend the game.

I cannot recommend this game enough. But it really needs to be the kind of game you're looking for. I'll also start by saying the first few missions are really slow because it wants to make sure you can use the controls well before it throws you into a "QUICK GET THIS THING BEFORE ASTEROIDS DESTROY US ALL!" mission. It's core loop is to fly around small sections of space, picking up material, harvesting/drilling for materials, finding old logs for new tech for your mothership, usually in a…

The game looked interesting and seemed appealing, but after playing it just isn't really a game. You are just flying a probe around with terrible controls and a very hard to use viewpoint. Really disappointing. Plus the use of Ubisoft connect really degraded the experience as I couldn't even play it for a while because it couldn't connect. Sadly, this is one to avoid.

The controls for AGOS are remarkable and innovative. Even though its 2020, this is one of the first VR-only titles that doesnt hold onto the baggage of 2D screens. Kudos to the designers and developers.

Good space simulator. The controls took a second to figure out, specifically how to rotate the camera and zoom in and out. You have to hold both grip buttons and then rotate your hands like a horizontal steering wheel, but you can also double tap the grip button and it will reset the camera to where the probe is facing. The flight controls were easy to learn and are a good fit for the gameplay. The first two or three missions are pretty generic, but after the introductory missions they start…

It feels like a grindy chore and isn't particularly immersive (sure, it makes good use of 6DOF controls, but controlling the probe in-flight is visually dull). Cannot be bothered to keep playing since other reviews mention the entire game is just repeating the resource collecting game loop.

this game isnt that well in depth. honestly, this could do as just a mobile game. not that much detail, and most of the time your just drifting through space. it does have some good visuals, but other than that not that great. the controls could be better. and would be better if is was able to go into an actual cockpit, not just third person camera over a half ass satellite.

very slow start, first 5-6 missions are tutorials, after that you get to see all future upgrades and modifications, there's quite more than i expected but not that much for more than maybe 10 hours of gameplay.... a lot of reviews complaining about the timer, but thats parts of the mechanics, you learn how to drive, then u have to drive FAST, against the clock, if there wasnt a timer, the game would be a slow crawl to get everything on the map then leave... this way u have to make tough…

Bought the game despite bad reviews here as most people were just saying it was boring and I like doing boring things in space. The problem is it's just BAD VR. I'm stuck in position, controls are made by aliens; grip both grips and rotate your hands kindof to rotate... which causes vignette and there's no options to disable. You are remote-controlling things with a crappy hud and I'd probably rather play a game like this on a mobile phone, if I played games om mobile phone. But it's just…

No thank you. I rather have no VR games than games like this. You are a little drone in space. And you fly around. First you're supposed to fly into a "virtual" cube and hold position (there is no timer, just throttle down to 0.0) and then suddenly a part of the station "unlocks" or something. There is no interaction of the drone and the station. It just magically happens. Mission done. On your next mission you should fly from A to B and on your way you collect materials (if fly "through"…

Recommended but probably on sale. The good: The UI is intuitive, it looks great, and it's quite interesting for the first dozen hours or so. The mission types are somewhat varied and there are upgrades that help expand your abilities and give you something to shoot for. The bad: You seem to be very unlucky and after travelling for years to a new system (instantaneous in game) or hundreds of years to a new galaxy, you always seem to arrive a few minutes (6-25) before asteroids are about to…

I dunno what to think yet. Is it an indie-like love letter to space/hard sci-fi or a really weird and shallow B team effort? The idea, so far, is to gather resources with your drone to progress through the missions and enable your mobile space station to travel around the solar system to different points of interest for more drone missions and eventually get the frak out of there with interstellar travel to find a new home for the remaining 5000 strong human population that's presumably in…

Player controls one to multiple probes to gather resources, access research and do repairs to allow player's mothership to continue it's journey. A boring start, but as game progresses it becomes more and more interesting. Normally I don't like time limits, but in case of this game, it is not as pressing as 'selection' related and is done right. If you have 10 minutes of time limit, one probe and 3 potential locations to visit you will know that you have enough time for one location, but not…

I've played the first 5-7 missions I can't remember exactly how many. I'm at the point where I'm past the tutorial and I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience. It's a seated experience, you manipulate a space probe from a third person perspective with the objective of gathering resources to sustain a colony ship. I’ve got so many space sims and games, other than Elite Dangerous and No Mans Sky this probably the best on the store. The game is you piloting a probe based on a generation ship traveling to another planet. The controls are fun (Oculus) the resource management is interesting enough and there are a lot of upgrades for both the probes and the gen ship. Give it an 7.5/10 :)

Pleasently surprised by this game. While I have only scratched the surface of it, there is so much to this! It's immersive, it makes full use of VR controllers and it's just awe inspiring. It's taken a minimalistic approach to storytelling, mainly just showing you why we are here and what we have to do kind of situation, with a lot of tools, upgrades and possibilities added to the mix. Fun game for space fans owning a VR headset. You control drone(s) using an innovative holographic interface, collect resources using a variety of methods, upgrade your mothership and drones with shiny new tech all while jumping from system to system, looking for a new home for the last survivors of the human race. A Game of Space is a simple game, the name is too big for it. It is a game that can only be played in VR, because of the ship controls, which are IMO the best and most original part of the game. The ship is actually a probe, that you control from 3rd person perspective, with controllers that adjust very well and very intuitively. The controllers fully handle the probe, which propels with full accordance to physics, and no AI, so this is probably the main gameplay mechanics, going from point A…

I have played the first four or five missions so far. My takeaway is the following: This game is everything I wanted it to be (on the stretch I have played). I am happy I bought it. Controls/ UI: This game is a sitting experience, preferably not in front of a desk. I play with an Index and it works perfectly out of the box. I did not have to make any adjustments. First missions are little 'boring' and the controls may seem strange, but they are perfectly logical given the willingness of the developers to propose a "simulation" respecting the laws of physics. But even if it seems strange and non-intuitive to you, you'll really get the hang of it. In fact it's only after 1h that the game proposed me a mission with a new capacity of the probe, so obviously people who play it 30 or 60 min find the game boring and repetitive, because you just move from…

This is a good VR game. Simply because it really makes use of the freedom of movement you have in VR and how this can be translated into controlling a space probe. The mechanics of movement are the thing I love the most about this game, and this game should be in your library if you're into science, space and/or space travel. It is a pity they didn't do more. I get the comments that it is repetitive, because in a sense it is. But space, in real life, is not very eventful. And this is…

I held off on this game for a long time, based on the mixed reviews. I regret not getting it sooner. There's a bit of a learning curve on the controls, but once you get the hang of it, it's both a relaxing arcade game, a planning/colony sim, a time-trial resource collection..... and I haven't even unlocked more than one tech level out of 9. If you like the Bobiverse books this is Bob 1.0 the game.

Yes, it's repetitive. Yes, it's “easy”. Yes, it's not so challenging. Yes, it's pretty straightforward, linear, “from A to B” etc. But a huge BUT: This is how you should make games when "riding" something technological and I see that more and more games try to adapt to this technique where "your" joystick controls another joystick.
