You will level up the unique characters you control and obtain gear to improve them. The world is divided into three factions: light, darkness, and neutral. Since the beginning of time, the light and darkness have been at odds, while the third is a…

There are other games, that were really cool - but only due to the time they were released, and probably some time after. And also, there are some games, that took some major gameplay ideas from the other games, those that were popular before, with the aim to make it all even better. Buff it. However, sadly enough, those games of this third…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game saved my life. I am 43. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiralling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick Save function is absolutely non functioning in this game. You click F5 to quick save , game tells you that a quick save was made but after you want to load that quick save you are put back somewhere completely different , most of the time 10 or 15minutes before that quick save was made. I 'm trying to play on Hard and saving/loading is the only way to progress through difficult fights and i can't for the ♥♥♥♥ sake make any progress like that.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game have alot of bugs, also problem with loading screen. On forums there is solution with resolution etc. works for few times for me then screen is black during returning to game. Also game integgrity causes errors in Windows 10 pro 64 bit, very strange. Not advised.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aarklash is actually quite good fun to play, for the most part. It has decent combat mechanics and relatively simple, but adequately interesting equipment and skill management. Unfortunately it has the same problem that many other games have: Annoying difficulty spikes where you keep failing and reloading a single fight, where it seems you need more luck than skill. Some people may find this kind of challenge fun, but for me it just takes the flow and progression out of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not an RPG, in any meaningful sense. This is a series of combat encounters, interspersed with on-rails narrative. It's extremely boring. For example: A boss you encounter early on (the Chimera) has 999 armour (physical and magical). However, there is someone you speak to ahead of time who 'reduces the armour by 90%'. In an RPG, you might have a conversation with that person and negotiate with them to intervene in the combat. In this game, it's automatic. The listed stats (999 armour)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The combat system in this game is its main selling point as far as I'm concerned and it is a fairly unique combat system that makes every fight a kind of puzzle challenge. The way the combat works is a mash up between party based real time with pause crpgs such as Pillars of Eternity or Baldur's gate with a MOBA. it does this by giving you 8 heroes to select from, 4 being useable at a time each with passives and 4 abilities that can be skill shots, AoEs or instants. the fights themselves play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually enjoy Cyanide Studio's games(like Of Orcs and Men, the Styx spin-off series, and Call of Cthulhu) but this one was just a miss for me. Don't get me wrong—it's a somewhat enjoyable, mostly functional game—but just so. On top of all the bugs you'll encounter, you can also expect the UI to be a generic minimalist mess, mostly terrible voice-acting, both enemy and party AI getting confused or being unresponsive, and the main "action chain" turn mechanic being sporadically ineffective by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weird game. It's some sort of squad-based tactical game with active pause and some RPG elements. Or rather it's a single player MOBA game. There are a lot of fights. Actually only fights with a little story. And they are challenging, sometimes very much. They require plenty of skill icons clicking in proper order. That's the way to win. Ok, what else do we have here besides fights? Not much really. The game looks beautiful, backgrounds are impressive and characters are quite unusual. But…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was a decent playthrough, not good enough to play again on the hardest(ragnorak) difficulty.. not recommended at retail price. paid <$3 and was worth the time. EDIT: $1 for 24 hours on bundlestars 10/5/17
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you assign somebody to do something, they may or may not do it. That makes a game based on a pipeline of moves unreliable and unplayable. Great graphics and what seems like an interesting storyline are crippled by playability issues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was just flat out fun! 8 pretty varied characters you can mix/match for a party of 4. Some pretty cool talent trees you can choose how to progress in and you can respec anytime you want, so feel free to try all the skills out. Level 20 is the max, which allows you to fully max out 2 talent trees if you want with plenty of points left to dabble into the other 2 talent trees. The RTwP combat in this game is a lot of fun, though some fights are challenging. You need to take the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was meh. I played it and beat it and couldnt wait to be done with it. The story was not enough to make me want to play and the combat wasnt good enough to keep me engaged either. Great character and level design though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful characters with awful skills. The gameplay itself is not bad. Unfortunately, most of the characters look like garbage. Even worse is how so many skills are unusable. For example, one character has one healing skill and 3 other skills that all drain health instead of energy. As it is you have to heal the character non-stop. This character essentially has one usable skill. Another character is ok but will not regenerate energy. You have to deal damage to one of your allies to gain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was made by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Garbage game design/10 - can't move the camera with WASD - there is friendly fire - have to constantly press F5 to save the game, no auto-save feature - you are constantly outnumbered and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you have to keep re-doing fights because of trash game design - basic skill tree development with 0 creativity - boss fights are infested with adds because EVERYONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVES FIGHTING ADDS DURING BOSS FIGHTS - game mechanics make absolutely no sense: Why are enemy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could give this game a more middle of the road rating than a negative, because it's not completely unenjoyable. The difficulty though makes something could be fun and simple a frustrating slog. Every single battle, even the ones you get no loot from, are stressful and unnecessarily difficult (on Medium difficulty!). Each character gets four abilities, but they either are on huge cooldowns or cost half your mana to cast, which means most of the time you're sitting annoyed you can't do…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not something most people have probably heard of, but this is a hero-based real-time with pause strategy game. And it's tough. It's an interesting game because it really does reward positioning, clever use of debuffing as well as damage-dealing skills and picking the right targets. Many skills - including healing - will happily affect friend and foe, which means you have to have a considered approach to battles, along with have to dodge the range of enemy spells. And given that enemies have a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably my favourite combat and levelling system of any tatctical RPG I've played, has very nice art with unique locations and characters. Be prepared to spend a decent amount of time on puzzles though, especially if you're terrible at them like me. Definitely worth getting at full price which is good because I've never seen it go on sale

I played about 0.2 hours and that was enough — but I can see why fans of tactical RPG / party combat games would enjoy it, so I still recommend it for the right audience. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish there were more games like this. Aarklash is a real time tactics RPG where positioning(both enemy's and yours) and timing are paramount and you can pause to asses the situation and figure out a solution for the combat puzzle before you. Imagine a 4 man dungeon party in WoW but you control every character from a top-down perspective. Each character gets a skill tree you can progress that meaningfully changes the way you approach fights and can be customized to your preferred style of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended for fans of party-based action games with pause, such as the Dragon Age or Baldur's Gate series. The storytelling depth may not stand up to those but the gameplay is still plenty of fun. +Visuals and environments +Fully voiced dialogue +Unique characters +Skill trees make a big difference +Challenging with options for difficulty +Good combat flow -Limited party -Little customization outside skills -Loot is accessories only -Some battles are poorly balanced -Mediocre story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, the maximum zoom out level in this game is unbelievable. You are forced to be very tight up on your characters at all times. The max zoom out in this game is closer to the max zoom in level -- which you would only use briefly to get a closer look at your characters decked out in their gear -- of other similar games. It's extremely annoying, but I guess it doesn't end up mattering that much, because all you really do in this game is walk 10 feet and get into a fight, walk another…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, i didn't hate this game by any means, it had its own little story quirks. It's a mechanically sound tactical rpg and was probably worth checking out back when it was released. But these days you'll just get a much better experience with the likes of dragon age.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ill Communication A fun game fatally flawed by bad UI and general bad decisions. Buffs and debuffs which must be managed are hidden in tiny little icons and most lack any visual effect at all, making pausing and checking several things every second or so of combat a necessity. The bosses are long, tedious raid-like events which will probably need to be done multiple times to figure out. Basic stuff like camera scroll speed and zoom are not available. There are many better choices available,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Weird fantasy setting like Planescape; I am very fond of it. - Bland skill trees with not various types of crowd control for a game that is relying on tactic and strategy - Out of place Voice-overs - Music in harmony with gameplay - 8 different characters with blank backgrounds but I like the visual and characteristic design of them. - Puzzles' difficulty are sufficient enough to be solved even for a player that is not playing these types of games. But while closing to the end of game, there…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aarklash: Legacy is a surprisingly good game for those that are into this type of fast paced hybrid rts/rpg games.. The game itself is fairly challenging (especially on higher difficulty settings). And you start out with a team of 4 warriors (typical heroes - fighters, mages, casters/healers, etc). Graphic wise the game is quite nicely done and it all runs very stable (although the 'graphics launcher' is a tad weird in the beginning). >At first i thought the game wouldn't launch< Silly me, it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game, and I have almost nothing negtive to say about it. The strongest part is the combat. You get some wildly different characters, with unique skills, and a skill tree that drastically alters those skills (sometimes even changing from defensive to offensive), giving you a huge variety of ways to attack a problem. You can also change those skills between each battle, which is important. There are no trash mobs. Enemies will flank you and combine skills in dangerous ways, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like realtime tactical RPG with active pause, then you should get this game. I got around 20 hrs worth of gameplay from it, taking my time and exploring a bit. In the end, I felt I wanted to play some more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good graphics for a 'Indie'. All you want from a game. Instant fun, no brainbreakers. You hit quit game? Youre out immediately. Feels faster than my browser. I started and played 6 hours, no break, no bore. Looking forward to my next sessions. If it had a bit higher production value (and it could be simply man hours..), this couldve been a masterpiece. Some things I dont like: Speed, it's too fast. You barely have breaks between pauses, cant watch combat really. Shame, because effects…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun party-based RPG with very interesting combat, decent plotline and voice acted dialogue, and lots of skill upgrades. Mix and match party members. Attractive terrain/character design and immersive music. Smooth game mechanics. Enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Veredict: one of the most annoying, linear, boring, repetitive and lazy RPG games ever created. Not worth it even on discount. Sometimes simplicity is good, not this time. I could tolerate the game being linear, the lack of actual inventory and diversity of spells and abilities, visual effects, etc. But there is one thing I can´t tolerate in this game: too many stupid puzzles . I would put two thumbs down if I could. Having a couple of puzzles it´s fine but they have done them so bad... it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love other isometric RPGs but this one lost me almost immediately. The bad voice acting was a tough pill to swallow. That was further amplified by combat that just really didn't click with me. I imagine there might be some people who love it but to me it felt clunky and unfun. I ended up putting the difficulty all the way down just to get through the story. The result was an extremely unearned ending twist that just left me rolling my eyes. Do not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Digital version of Rakham's "Confrontation" Board-game, it is a well-executed, turn-based strategy skirmish game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to click Yes. The artwork and character design is very pretty. The voice acting is good and the jokes and snide remarks are humorous. The loot is plentiful as are the experience points. But the combat is boring. It's boring, there's too much of it, the abilities are for the most part uninteresting. Save for a few. The restrictions on who you can have in your party annoy me. I want the goblin with the rat in his hat in my party at all times... but that's not possible. You…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a mixed bag. The graphics are great. The characters are varied. The combat feel smooth. But I don't get to create a character and I don't want the group I have. The story is also kinda meh. Not being able to make a character is a deal breaker, I think.

unlabelledView post →Aarklash: Legacy delivers a satisfying dose of tactical RPG action with a strong emphasis on party synergy and real-time-with-pause combat. Controlling a squad of four mercenaries (from a pool of eight), the game shines in its demanding battles where success hinges on mastering each character's unique abilities and combining them effectively. The skill trees offer great flexibility for builds, and the ability to respec freely encourages experimentation. I thoroughly enjoyed the dark fantasy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When it comes to the now infamous Confrontation IP story has often been sparse. The games have been fun to play, but story has never been at the forefront. This games changes that trend in a good way. Sadly I can't play this game anymore as I'm running a later edition of windows, but when I could play I did it often, and never regretted the time I spent praying my whole party would die with each new fight. Everything about this game was challenging as hell, but with each new piece of lore…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is linear, the items are generic, you have 4 skills per character with minimal gameplay change as you progress, there are cutscenes before many fights that just set you up in unfavorable position... this game is not worth my time really
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a fan of the combat system at all. I like tactical games in general, but this one would've worked better as a small party RTS, in like certain missions in the Spellforce games or the Dawn of War 2 campaign. I may have been able to get past my lack of interest in the combat if the story and characters were good, but they aren't. I gave them credit for the full voice acting and it's quality is passable, but the writing is very weak. There are many examples of lazy, slap you in the face…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique strategy RPG that sets your team, sets their basic skills, and allows you to manage how they grow in those skills without all the fuss of picking between loads of skills to figure out the best combos. There are also "reserve" units that you can trade in/out as you progress and unlock them, to fit your play style.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid game that focuses on tactical battles with a real-time with pause combat system. It's a shame this didn't get more attention, as the combat is really quite fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neutral would be more accurate, but I suppose it leans more towards the positive than negative. The comabt is pretty troublesome until you figure out that you can just use your tank to bait the enemies and then run around the map with the enemies running behind you while the rest of your team takes potshots at them. The level cap is too low at 20 since you reach it early on in chapter three and after that killing the enemies becomes pointless albeit you still have to do it. The puzzles are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know what to make of this game. It's short and not too complicated, but it seems to be confused about what kind of game it wants to be. An RPG or a puzzle game. Don't think it ever truly figures that out. If you like puzzles I think there's something here for people. Otherwise, maybe give it a miss.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR - After beating this game for the third time recently, I can honestly say of the roughly 1,700 games in my library, I consider this to be the SINGLE most underrated of the lot. It's 100% worth the full price, but if you see it on sale, it's a no brainer. That being said, it is NOT a TBS (turn based strategy) game, it's an extremely tactical, positioning heavy, Hero based Real-Time strategy game with pause anytime. The game is not easy, especially at the higher difficulties (and if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Real-time with pause RPG. Combat is satisfying. Includes puzzles. Combat and game play both start out strong but fall off at the end. Occasional bugs can be very frustrating if you haven't saved recently.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whatever, maybe a kind of player has the strategy and number crunching down to make certain fights feasible.. It's fun until you're faced with a room that's 20 tries and repeated attempts to cheese the damn fight into something possible. High five if you can breeze this title, it stops being fun to try. I guess that's the baseline with all instant pause RPG's. Ten hours in, slightly engaged in the story and just click wandering the levels for basic fights when I'm not sure if I chose the wrong…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just dont think its fun. The characters are annoying. The whole " steal HP from your party to get mana to heal your party" is really lame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too simple, and real time with pause completely doesn't fit it. The game would clearly be better if it was turn-based, as it stands the combat is full of silliness and is too basic, which is due to the small party as well as limited abilities which have cooldowns. Moreover, the real time allows to easily outmaneuver (or just run through) enemies and instantly attack the weakest units in the enemy team (archers, mages etc.). In addition, the story, dialogues and humor are cringy and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Font is too small to play this game even.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a hard game, let me say that from the start. On medium you will be challenged, you need to read the descriptions and understand how your party's abilities work together to make you a formidable team. I had the pleasure of completing this game on two occasion once on medium and again on hard. Even experts in this genre will find this game a challenge, but oh my it is also extremely rewarding when your well laid plans come to fruition.
