43 of 43 · most liked firstThis is a review copy. I will buy a gift copy for a friend to support the game. I beat the game in about 1 hour and even though I liked the mood, I wish you focused more on the perspective of the main character because when the game ended, there was not enough nuance to her character, and I also think we did not accomplish much to improve her situation. For me, there was something missing in the narrative and I am not sure how to articulate it perfectly, the only side of her personality I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a night at the watermill is a really short 1st-person point & click escape room adventure, won't even take an hour. absolutely not worth the asking price but it's done well enough, so something to contemplate during a sale. you find yourself at the eponymous location in the middle of a storm, gotta get out and hopefully recall who you are, the usual fare. there are a bunch of locations, even a few choices and 3 endings, plus an inventory. items can be combined and inspected, the inventory…

First, you take on the role of a young woman who awakens in an abandoned watermill on a dark, rainy day. You have no memory of how you got there or even who you are, but you see that your surroundings are a mess, so something terrible must have occurred. After a bit of searching and such, you find out that you're trapped in that watermill and that a stranger appears to be pursuing…

With no memory of how she got there, who she is or why her ankles and wrists have contusions on them, you are tasked to figure it out. As you go forward the girl starts to have flashbacks of what happened and little by little the story unfolds. The artwork is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Night At The Watermill is an excellent point and click horror adventure where you must piece together the nights events while dealing with the horror of the situation you find yourself in. It has multiple endings and two protagonists. Pros + Gorgeous Visuals + Fun Scares + A Somewhat Predictable but well crafted story with multiple endings + Just The Right Length (about an hour/90mins for everything) + While some puzzles are a little obscure you won't be stuck for long Cons - Some puzzles…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a neutral option, instead of straight up and down recommended/not recommended, I'd choose that. It's not that I'd go out of my way to advise against playing this game, but I wouldn't really say, "Yeah, totally worth it!" either. For me, the biggest pros are the art style and atmosphere. Cons were the characters/lack of substantial backstory. At this price point, I can't gripe too much about the playtime (40mins first run through) but aside from chasing achievements, replaying…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short thriller with logical puzzles and a gorgeous comic book art style with bold colours. It has typical quality-of-life features for a point-and-click such as a highlight button and the characters will hint at the solutions through their inner monologues. It does have mental health cliches, so I found the plot to be predictable. It subverts the horror to be more grounded and psychological. Although there is one jumpscare that got my sister! It's clever to start off as the woman, so you're…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming little point-and-click adventure with a nicely told story. As someone who isn't very active in the point-and-click adventure genre, this game was a welcome change, and its short playtime was perfect for me. It was nice to play a game from a small German developer again. Thank you for letting me experience this nice little story through your game!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a short game about a short, dangerous night in a rotten old watermill, and the wonderful comic art just boosts it right up there, and I'll tell you -- I wish people made stuff like this all the time. So it's a pretty simple story, really, but I don't think everything has to be a Game of Thrones chain of infinite backstabs to be interesting . . . and really I don't want so much of that stuff anyway! Atmosphere! That's what we have here, carried by beautiful, hand-drawn graphics and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a nice, short (~1h) puzzle game, with lovely artwork, some nice music, fun puzzles, and a compelling mystery that has multiple endings that all make sense I think the price of the game is very fair!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short, but great title. Loved the art and the story. Logical combinations of items, thankfully, and a highlight option. Escape the watermill!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A NIGHT AT THE WATERMILL is a very short experience (you'll literally be done in an hour, at most) carried by its confidently stylish presentation and beautiful art. Would love to see the devs do a longer, meatier game with this same amount of polish! Maybe cool it on the moon logic puzzles though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good ending is a definite let down, especially compared to the other two options, but everything else—the art, music, puzzle solving, paranoia, oppressive atmosphere... it's all exceptionally good, and worthy of the small time investment. Rather a sequel or new title altogether, here's hoping this team makes something else in the near future; their potential to make a truly great horror adventure is higher than most, and it'd be a shame to see that wasted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very cool interactive experience. I enjoyed the crisp, moody artwork featuring bold, dark lines and cool, somber color palette. The music was suitable, and the ambient environmental sounds were excellent. The gameplay is straightforward, and I felt that it had just the right amount of challenge to keep the pace up. The game wastes no time, and the beginning is intense—sections of the game had my pulse going. I appreciated the twists and turns in the story. It unfolds in a satisfying…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short adventure game that still manages to tell an interesting story. A girl wakes up in an abandoned watermill. She doesn’t know who she is or what happened, all she knows there’s someone out there trying to get her. First thing I have to point out is that I was pleasantly surprised by the game’s engine. It’s well-known for creating most indie visual novels, but this game changes it so much that I had no idea it was even possible to do something like this. Although the game falls in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great visuals and a solid story. The puzzles are pretty straightforward but enjoyable nonetheless. Overall a solid 7/10 game. I have a full blind playthrough if you want to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oABmiWwyv7w&list=PLjOrC3OS68sF8toP55hEqCcSSxZszJBww
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, but it's just way too short to have any kind of impact or turn the premise into an interesting story. It's well enough done otherwise, just didn't click with me for that very reason.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uses a whodunit premise to hook the player into exploring the watermill in hopes of finding answers for your amnesia. The game was short, but the interactive elements with an inventory system and interactive items made it a fun little experience. The atmosphere and art was lovely too. Multiple endings also allow players to interpret the main character's actions in different ways. [Had this sitting in my library for a year now. I am glad to finally play it. It just so happens to be one of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"A Night at the Watermill" is a point and click horror adventure where you slowly piece together the events that brought you to the watermill. The game is on the short side, I think I beat it in 1 hour and then spent around 10-20 minutes going through saves because I missed 2 achievements. I didn't find extreme cases of "moon-logic"like in other games of the genre, but there were a couple of instances where I had to combine items randomly, because I was at a loss. Overall I do recommend the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very awsome puzzles and creepy storyline. I love the fact that there are different endings. I have played this many times and can't get enough. I can't wait for more updates and stories.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting plot, a few fun puzzles, and nice visuals make this interactive short story worth of your time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Das Spiel ist wie eine Kurzgeschichte. Eine spannende, die es sich zu lesen lohnt. 👍
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great vibes - a little too short but not overcharging for it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and simple point and click with multiple endings. It only takes about 30-40 minutes to play and doesn't drag on too long.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good small game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little experience. I did find myself getting frustrated with some aspects of the game play. I wish when you clicked to highlight items they would stay highlighted and you could just un-highlight them. Sometimes it was too quick to see small items. Additionally, I didn't know until reading a guide on the store page that you had to combine items that were outside of your inventory. Apart from that, I loved the art style.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great short game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but pretty pretty decent escape room style horror/thriller. Nothing overly complicated, its the usual "use object x on y" to progress. Some of the puzzles where a bit contrived but thats to be expected in games like this. You will probably beat it in about an hour, is it worth the asking price? Ehhh, that's debatable, 4€ is a bit much for 1 hour of gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent short thriller/horror in the style of visual novel/point & click —I paid the full price doesn’t need a sale, I’m hooked and want more of these!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game in 1.7 hrs. Congratulations, made me go back to the good old days of point'click, the graphs are great, pacing is good... waiting for the next one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a short point and click adventure that does everything right. hand-drawn graphics are beautiful, music and sounds are setting up the mood along with the visuals, there are no technical shortcomings or bugs, puzzles, as few as they are, are logical. i got stuck only once for a short time trying to solve one of them. the story is very nice, makes you wonder what has been going on. it gives a satisfactory answer at the end too (i got the good ending, will watch the other ones now on youtube). all…
