I bought this hoping to take my time building a force and experimenting only to find that NO you cannot do that, you must complete all levels in the fastest time possible! Arrrrgh what is it with modern games why can't they be more strategy based not speed based? I'm so dissappointed with this that I'm seriously thinking of building a pc and playing all my win 98 SE games instead of this modern crap at least the old games provided longevity…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8-Bit Invaders! is the third entry in Petroglyph Games' current 8-Bit real time strategy game series. The gameplay style of the series resembles the classic Command & Conquer games, modernized and slightly simplified, and anyone familiar with those will feel right at home, down to the UI button placement. Each title offers two factions, with Invaders! adding space marines (Galactic Marines Corps) and a clichéd alien race that draws upon the likes of Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! and The War of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another 8-Bit blah. The best thing about this one? Yeah, you guessed it, the soundtrack by Frank Klepacky! To be fair, they did at least try. New features: - Harvesters stay at resource node and continuously mine instead of travelling back and forth for both new factions. - Some gimmicky units and faction differences - Titan units There are 2 new factions, the Marins and the Cranioids. The Marines field pretty much exclusively mechanised units. Even their infantry is mechanized. The theme…

Verdict : Just not quite enough; grab it on a sale Space Invaders 8-Bit Invaders: a game that I so desperately wanted to like, yet can’t find myself playing for anything longer than a few hours. Understand that if I had the option to go for a mixed rating then I would, but as it stands I do believe it’s worth a purchase. Invaders is the third, and last, game in the 8-Bit series, precursed by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Premise 8-Bit Invaders is the third game in Petroglyph's series of 8-Bit RTS (real time strategy) titles. If you missed the last two games, those were 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes respectively, with each taking a different sort of spin on the classic gameplay found in some of the more popular RTS titles out there (hey, can you tell which one is like Command & Conquer and which one is like Warcraft?). Honestly though, the 8-Bit RTS games play like Command & Conquer more than anything, which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bit hard to love this game. It isn't a very sophisticated or nuanced RTS. You can basically horde rush the AI all the time. There are some paper/scissors/stone calcs going on too, but it all adds up to a pretty ordinary experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, I JUST WANT TO ZOOM OUT A LITTLE BIT MORE, other than that it's brilliant
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a little background, I have played all previous games in the 8-Bit franchise. The first game wasn’t all that remarkable with both factions looking identical other than their paint colour. Then the Guardian’s Campaign DLC was released. This made a whole new faction with a whole new playstyle turning 8-Bit Armies into a really nice retro-RTS game from the previous slightly dull game it had been. Next 8-Bit Hordes launched which was in stark difference from the original game. In my opinion, it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun, except for the times that the game crashes when you win and forgets you ever won. The difficulty curve can get pretty stupid, to the point where you have to incrementally play every stage just to get enough of an edge to get 3 stars every time. Seriously, Petroglyph, start making games like you did when you were Westwood -- complete when people buy them, and devoid of the stupid gimmicks. EDIT: 119 minutes of gameplay and I'm now at a total of 3-4 crashes: at least 2 when the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Think Starcraft, minus good unit controls and micro. I had a very hard time playing this due to the messy and innacurate mouse pointer. No unit cap to speak of made each of the campaign missions little more than a spamfest. The graphics were cute, but that doesn't make this a good game. Wouldn't recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another 8 Bit game, another cash grab that should actually be dlc instead. This one is the best of the 3 8 Bit games, but still anything I wrote in my 8 Bit Armies Rewiew also applies here: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054316613/recommended/497850
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im a huge fan of RTS and I thought this was a decent take on the genre! Harking back to the classic C&C games where the tactic of MORE TANKS seems to get you through. I really enjoyed the campaign (i dont really play online too much) and played through it enthusiastically. The graphics are cute and there is a decent enough difference between the units. I mean its not StarCraft 1 level but its certainly worth your time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →though this game may look pretty cool it really isnt. i got bored very quick with the low amount of troop types and buildings its just not enough to do for its price but it can run on a bad pc which is good but its not to much fun 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A beginner's RTS. I wanted to play something easier to grasp with my son (8 year old), before introducing him to the world of Command & Conquer and Act of War. This fit the bill perfectly. I don't think there's much longevity in this title, but it's great for RTS training and affordable. It's also very polished. We had no issues with LAN play and it played great on an i5/GTX 770/8GB RAM, no crashes or bugs so kudo's to the devs! I'd say it's pretty balanced but battles usually come down to your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does literally nobody realize these are all just copies of warcraft, starcraft, and C&C??? They're just copy pastes with little cutesy graphics, and all 3 games are laid out in the exact same fashion, with the exact same interface and resource gathering. You can't get more of a copy-paste than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These are some things you should add on to the game 1.you should be able to make a first person mode so you can play as that unit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only two things make me play this so less. Finite resources and small maps. Everything else is fantastic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good, I wish it had more of a fleshed out campaign vs missions with 3 tier medal goals. There is an added mutliverse which functions sorta like a topworld board game and with each zone being a territory you go into actal rts gameplay to fight over. If you own either of the other 2 8-bit games you can add those factions into normal games for a weird futuristic vs fantasy battles. The game has co-op missions but there lacks a playerbase for them so I have never played them, so best…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like the rest of the 8-bit series, however it a pretty fun game for all of maybe an hour. It's worth the money, but you're not going to get anything more than a flashy red alert.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's my pros and cons of the game: Pros: - Gameplay is very entertaining - Very simple/easy to pick up but still requires stratergy - Factions are very diverse - You can have huge wars (8 Player FFAs) which are intense and fun Cons: - Marines are probably the strongest faction in the game - You'll probably want to buy 8Bit Armies or 8Bit Hordes to play with more factions Conclusion: This is probably one of my favourite RTS games. I tried StarCraft and that was way too complicated. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun for the first hour or so. The marine faction is very overpowered when compaired to the other one. Often, the game will end in the favor of the one who spammed the most.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Marines campaign is too easy until the last mission; and the Cranioid campaign is mostly moderate difficulty until the second last mission, when it becomes virtually impossible. I recommend Rusted Warfare over this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →basically boring. It need some supreme commander if i can think of a fun strat that i can actually return to.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible difficulty "curve". Clumsy interface that reminds me of 90s RTS. You only unlock necessary upgrades when you can do their stupid extra quests which are usually time based, or "do/dont kill x" based. The game is buggy - troops wont always move to attack something, or escape when being attacked - they just stand there like idiots being killed. Pathfinding stuffs up sometimes. You cant zoom out far enough to be effective either. Sometimes ground troops wont unlock crates. Most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8-Bit Invaders! 8/10 if you like games like Generals ZH EA GAMES A fun and simple RTS. My biggest problem is that you have to micromanage units, because if they're getting attacked by a unit out of their range, they'll just get shot to death. There aren't any units that are overall O.P. unless specifically designed, so units are well balanced. Maps are full and do well in creating many blind spots and choke points.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This time emulating starcraft but fusing protos and zerg into one race. It's an improvement over the first game. Mission objectives are a little more interesting now, though it still feels like it's lacking something. A copycat can only go so far if it has few ideas of its own. I do like that higher ranks on missions = more unlocks to your loadouts, but the missions themselves still don't compell me in ways that the 90's games it emulates did. I need something more.. This is still a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like if Age Of Empires 2, had pixel (voxel?) graphics... but there's a couple of issues: There's a massive lack of tooltips, like you can't even readily see how much HP / range / attack speed / dmg your units have (which obviously is a really important bit of info to leave out), and from what I've played against bots, the bots are really stupid... like stupid to the point that you are literally busy attacking their base but then their units just stand there not doing anything (until you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Essentially just voxel version of Starcraft.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first bought game. This introduced me to steam, and i have nostalgia playing it for the first time in 5 years. Would recommend without a doubt. Defenitly worth every cent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →15 years later and we get a game that's worse than Red Alert 2 in every relevant mechanic lol. petroglyph doesnt make them like they used to guess all the westwood guys left or got senile in old age :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Craniods utterly useless. Their infantry wiped out en mass by Corp shooters. Guardtowers killing 20 at a time. Don't even waste your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frank Klepacki did the sound track for this game. What do you mean you need more information?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got nothing to say except that my 8-bit guns go pew pew
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Title: 8-Bit Invaders Review Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) 8-Bit Invaders, developed by Petroglyph, is a delightful homage to classic real-time strategy games of the past, presented in a charming pixelated art style. This game pays tribute to the golden age of gaming while injecting modern elements to create an engaging and accessible strategy experience. Pros: Nostalgic Visuals: The game's 8-bit graphics are a delightful throwback to the retro gaming era, evoking a sense of nostalgia that resonates…

After arriving in 2003 (yes, it was that long ago, welcome to the old farts club), it quickly revolutionized the entire industry. Back in the days, publishers needed to invest money into CD / DVD production, covers, manuals, packaging, advertising, transportation, dealing with the retail stores and so on. In other words, selling games wasn't easy back in the days. Sure, there are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the greatest game: it is artificially blocking content to take more time, and it is also bugged (for example, I cannot move camera to the right with my mouse for some reason).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i m just here to compelete my factions in game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good an easy to learn
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game I don't know if it's worth 15 bucks but I had a little fun out of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game and the other bundles i cant wait to get 8-bit armies and its content
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super. Any chances for a sequel?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Semi-functional. The skirmishes are pretty bland, feeling like slug matches with no strategy or tactics beyond grouping your spammed units up and sending them in. Like 8-Bit Hordes it's another reskin of 8-Bit Armies which itself was pretty shallow. The theme of the game is just a bunch of popular science fiction things thrown together with no immersive storytelling of its own. The campaign barely entertains due to the weak gameplay. The missions are artificially difficult due to the lack of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And here is another fantastic installment into Petroglyph's epic 8-bit trilogy of RTS games, this time its sci-fi themed! Basically, take the original Command & Conquer gameplay formula, make it with Lego-like pixel graphics and sprinkle in some inspiration from Starcraft, Star Wars Empire at War and Dune and you get this game. An excellent experience that is consistently fun and exciting, my personal favourite among the trilogy. Everything that applies to the others, also applies here -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the other 8-Bit rts games, it's an absolute gem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept of similar combining together, as such the maps and factions carry over. Out of all the factions in all 3 games the Galactic Marine Corps are my favorite as I like their aesthetic and their shields on everything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Real time strategy (RTS for short) games had always been my favorite type of game to play when I was younger. Because of my interest in RTS games, I became interested in playing this game. When I first looked at the aspects and visuals of the game, it almost reminded me of Legos or Minecraft. 8-Bit Invaders is a sci-fi RTS game where you can play as one of the 2 factions, either the Marines side or the Cranoids side. Each side houses unique troops and units to train so that you can lead them…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I could give a neutral, I would. Single player wise, I enjoyed the small part of the campaign that I've played, but then I went and bought a second copy for my friend so we could play it together. Well, sadly, there is no progression in co-op, there's still 3 medals to earn, but they don't do anything at all for you progression wise. I love how the single player campaign makes you want to jump around and earn medals out of place, but the co-op medals here are clearly just a tacked on after…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man.. I really hoped for some old school RTS, but AI is worse than in Dune II on my Sega Mega Drive, the Sounds and music are worse than in Dune II and the graphics have no charm. Please don't bother bringing this to console... Going for a refund...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So im a huge rts player and all the reviews made me think this would be a fun experience. i was sadly mistaken, even went for the refund which i never do but its a game after playing a few matches you see has little to offer. From lack of team variety like each game (8bit hordes, army, etc.) only come with 2 sides, which can battle across games but makes it seem unbalanced and unenjoyable imo. I didnt like fighting swords against aliens and the 8bit design for everything they chose in my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a awsome game and i want all of the 8 bits
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game... My wife and I played it all the time... until the multiplayer became nil :( no one plays it anymore. The multiplayer screen should show how many people are logged into the 8 Bit Invaders so then we will host a game. Because we cannot see anyone logged in the game... we just leave. This is such a fun game... wish more people would play it. Coda777
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and relaxing, you can spend a lot of time alone or with your friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, when the world needs a quick, easy, and simple RTS here this game comes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game Would Recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the best game so far!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a very good game sweet stratagy, nice community, from time to time some competetiveness very nice big battles and a very well made leaderboard its just great, thumbs up ^-^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What to say about this one.. well, the core of this release, along with Armies and Hordes, is built on a competent RTS engine. Technically speaking, the game allows for a lot to happen the screen, and the controls work about as expected for a C&C-like. Units are responsive, but micro isn't really rewarded so much. I do wish this series leaned more towards Starcraft's mechanics, but it was a clear design decision to be how it is. Future games in this engine could be improved is if an actual…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first glance, the game showed promise, but ultimately it failed to engage me. Victory hinges entirely on who amasses troops the fastest - the more identical production buildings you construct, the quicker your army assembles, allowing you to flood the battlefield with hundreds of units. This constant production rush quickly grows tiresome. The optional mission objectives feel like a frantic add-on: since they're almost always timed, you're forced to clear each map under pressure just to…
