That is not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“While money can't buy happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery.” ~Groucho Marx There's nothing as sad as seeing one of your most favorite video game developers falling. And man, Westwood Studios sure fell. Like many other legendary developers (including Bullfrog Productions, creators of Populous, Syndicate, Theme Park and Dungeon Keeper, and ORIGIN Systems, creators of Ultima, Wing Commander and Crusader), Westwood Studios was killed by Electronic Arts. You don't need…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is basically a watered down version of Warcraft 3 with pseudo-8-bit graphics. Unfortunately, it's not as fun as Warcraft III, and the campaign's premise is really silly, so there's nothing to be interested in plot-wise either. I know it's purposefully breaking the fourth wall in a sort of satirical way, but like the rest of the game, it just comes across as bland and uninspired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only buy 8-Bit Hordes if you are really bored, have nothing else to play and you get It very cheaply at a sale. Even if you get it really cheaply, it still might not be a fun experience despite the low price since you will be very quickly just rinsing and repeating the same thing. Cons - Cheap, low quality game made by directly and obviously copying other games’ fantasy units and concepts as well as other game systems but to a very limited degree such that you have a functional product…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun indie RTS with some really goofy character designs (Do skeletons puke?) that is hampered by faction inbalance and an extremely sadistic co-op campaign designer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Read my review to 8-Bit Armies if you wanna know more details, I'll keep this one "short". It's basically the promised added factions to the universe...but for a hefty sum in my opinion. Especially considering that the two new factions are indeed just Monsters and Humans...how inspired. Both factions play as you would expect them, with basic melee and ranged units that are suitably different. Both factions get access to healers later on, while the Orc healer can resurrect fallen enemies as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →***Based on Single Player Experience *** Play With:Keyboard and Mouse, Windows 10 Pro: RTS: There has been a real drought of RTS games that focus on base building and fighting instead of managing, while in the fantasy theme. This game fills that void decently enough, there is a decent variety of units. Cons: Lackluster Story Mode: One of the best parts of all RTS game is the campaign, it’s either silly or over the top or just plain entertaining. It gives you a nice variety of missions…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8-Bit Hordes 8/10 The base gameplay in Hordes is the same as the rest of Petroglyph's "8-bit" line, so expect to play something that feels loosely like Command and Conquer, but this time with a bit of WarCraft mixed in. Unfortunately a lot of the issues with pathfinding, destroying terrain, workers going insane, etc, do persist as well. The positives also carry over. For a lower budget game, the micro in more open spaces works fine, hotkeying through big deathballs works well, and the C&C type…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To the question of whatever or not I'd recommend this game, I find myself a bit iffy, the reason being frankly their is an horrible balance between the factions, in every single ways the Lightbringers are superior. I completed the Deathsworns Campaign and frankly it was an horrible grindfest, several levels took way too much time to finish due to the fact that against Lightbringers the Deathsworns really didn't match up, the last level after loosing tons of troops hopelessly getting blown up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game just alittle confusing there are a few things i dont like about it. it is not that the game is bad just it can be confusing to get used to when you have play other strategy games like dawn of war or age of empires 3 which both have mechanics that this game does not these are just somethings that ethier need to be added through another game (or update) that whould make it alittle less confusing on getting used to the game by making the mechanics of the game alittle bit better…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not recommending this game even though there is nothing particularly bad about it and it has some good aspects. I am only interested in the story campaign so I am probably a bit unusual for this type of game. One of the major reasons I am not recommending it because that aspect of the game is lacking. The story consists of one paragraph to read per mission. Nothing else. The objectives are not particularly fun either. Every mission is divided into three types of objectives: bronze,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does literally nobody realize these are all just copies of warcraft, starcraft, and C&C??? They're just copy pastes with little cutesy graphics, and all 3 games are laid out in the exact same fashion, with the exact same interface and resource gathering. You can't get more of a copy-paste than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a little more complex than 8 Bit Armies as you have to keep an eye on your unit count, but still there are tons of much better games in the genere out there. As there are not many changes to 8 Bit Armies this would have been better as a dlc. Making this it's own game feels like a cash grab. Basically anything I said in my 8 Bit Armies Review here also applies for this game: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054316613/recommended/427250

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good, I wish it had more of a fleshed out campaign vs missions with 3 tier medal goals. There is an added mutliverse which functions sorta like a topworld board game and with each zone being a territory you go into actal rts gameplay to fight over. If you own either of the other 2 8-bit games you can add those factions into normal games for a weird futuristic vs fantasy battles. The game has co-op missions but there lacks a playerbase for them so I have never played them, so best…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →only buy it if you don't own the others 8-bits. This is a full copy paste of the others. Why the orcs are in a wagon to go to the mine? Why can't they push it? why is it not Goblins going? Defo a lack on immagination on this one.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've finished almost all of the possible campaign content for this game, and I would highly recommend it, though with a few caveats. The base gameplay in Hordes is the same as the rest of Petroglyph's "8-bit" line, so expect to play something that feels loosely like Command and Conquer, but this time with a bit of WarCraft mixed in. Unfortunately a lot of the issues with pathfinding, destroying terrain, workers going insane, etc, do persist as well. The positives also carry over. For a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every time I try and get into an RTS (every few years or so), I always fart around with too many others before returning to the 8-Bit ones. These just do it for me. The fact that I can't change the game speed to a crawl (can't change the game speed at all as far as I can tell) makes me actually have to play which helps me to learn to be a better keyboard commander. I'm not very good at RTS games, and I've heard these described as good for beginners. There's plenty of challenge here, and I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →don't get any of the 8 bit rts series for co op campaign. its difficulty isnt changeable for co op and is next to impossible to even play the first level.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is alot like aoe3 and some stronghold its just cool and not cool i think that they should update it, i think its bad because they should update it and add a survival mode like you survive waves of enemys, i think its good because you need a good strategy game with alot campaign its kinda like were the first level of orcs is were you defend and the people attack on the first its like there connected well i give this game a 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game but I do not like how the 8 Bit Armies DLC can be used against the people who don't have it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of Warcraft, a game from my youth. Very fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best RTS in recent years shows that simplicity is the power. 8-bit Hordes commemorates the first Command & Conquer game, features an addictive gameplay and has a great chance to charm the community.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ow my! This is a down to earth Warcraft style RTS with a touch of pixel art! I love this kind of art. I think I am going to purchase two more for my kids to play in multiplayer: they love this kind of art too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4 months after I purchased the first 8-bit armies I purchased this. the 2 added factions are really good but the levels were poor and short it gave me a rushed vibe. after I'd played about 2 hours I just used the 2 factions on the base game and that disapointed me a bit. i'd payed the £12 for just 2 new factions. the online capabilitys were much worse the 8-bit armies and so are the menu screens. I'f you are willing to pay £12 for 2 good new factions this is for you. I rate this game 2 stars.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please Read my 8-Bit army Review. Overall I recommend the 8-bit series as they bring back that good old Command & Conquer feeling...well minus the live action cutscenes and crazy story campaigns but overall a nice series to get into if you like RTS. Also you can play against the 8-Bit army players or the 8-Bit space players online with your 8-Bit horde game which is rather awesome to have.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →people are saying that this is just reskin of previous game, and it's kinda true, but game still feels different. Maybe it's balance or specific units. I definitely recommend to give a shot for this game, but maybe not for full price. Music is still awesome, keep it up, Frank!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the game for 6 hours and encountered many bugs that I see from other 8bit Army games. My camera gets broken sometimes and I cant scroll downwards, it just gets stuck and It doesnt matter If I press ESC or not, I jsut have to spam every single key for it to reset. This happens ONLY for the S button (When i want to scroll the camera down) sometimes. I cant queue buildings which really defeats the whole purpose of the game, since my Army has 0 IQ and I have to babysit every single little…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quaint little game. Quote: "Remember Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, the Life. Probably worth a google?"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun, each unit have different strengths and weaknesses, you got a lot of maps with different objectives. This is a game for every RTS fan saying that they dont make good RTS anymore. They do and 8-Bit Hordes is that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the game when it worked, but i cant launch the game. It acts like it is going to start then it doesn't. I've read some forums and it seems like this problem isn't too uncommon. i can't say that i'd recommend this game unless this problem gets fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too shallow, too empty. This is just a pixel graphics game which happens to adopt the most classic and traditional RTS aspects. There aren't many unique features and the replayabiliy is quite low. Buy this game if you are a really huge pixel-graphics + RTS fan.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over 30 hours and not regreting a single one of them, I am pretty sure this game is worth the go, especially if u love fantasy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blast from the past, simple stupid fun, and worth it, if you can get it for under $5. Basically a dumbed down version of Warcraft.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short review since I've already reviewed 8 bit Armies. This game works the same except it's fantasy Very fun to play, humerous little story throughout the game. It's quick and easy to pick up and play. If you enjoy C&C you will enjoy this game, or all of the 8 bit games. Get all 3 games, they are definitely worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's fonts is too small,I can't see the various constructions 's detail brief. Please update the fonts.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS + very command and conquer-like, CnC people will feel at home + the graphics are cute and accessible + you can play the campaign co-op + I got this game to get my MP CnC like fix and not for the SP + a "warcraft" CnC! cool idea and you can play these armies with 8-bit armies CONS - the term "campaign" is used loosely--it's just a series of maps with no story that I can see - I have yet to find a way to expand and build a 2nd base in SP, you might be able to build a 2nd HQ in MP but I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic warcraft 1 and 2 look and atmosphere and classic command and conquer made for modern systems with modern RTS features and you got a match made in heaven :V
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →grate time killer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The problem I have is the fact that you have to spam one thing or else you get destroyed like my husband.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A delightful RTS, haven't had one this satisfyingly snappy since Dune 2000.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game but buy on sale, traditonal rts game but with no cutscenes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gamer servers are terrible for Co-op. Hosting yourself or any other form is not an option. Co-op mission 8 is ridiculous and OP, worse with server lag and many disconnects. Dissuades me from buying 9-bit Armies... :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I play this because I don't own Warcraft 3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally got this game and played with my friends back in the day when I was in high school, it was fun for a time. It had some pretty animations, was just polished enough to feel mostly complete without feeling like you were missing to much, but that there might be more coming. Unit types felt at first like that mattered and seemed varied and interesting enough at first as well. Overtime as we played though my friends and I started to see just how shallow the game really was, there is no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A shallow reskin of 8-Bit Armies, which itself was a poor clone of better entries to the RTS genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine if Warcraft: Orcs and Humans was made today with cute Lego-like pixel graphics and by the masters of RTS games, Petroglyph. That's basically what we have here. This game is really fun, great selection of units, nice setting, fun tongue-in-cheek style and an awesome soundtrack (it's Frank Klepacki, of course it would be awesome, and he went all in on the fantasy sound here). I am also reminded of the fact, that C&C Tiberian Dawn very early in it's development had a fantasy setting quite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't realize this existed until I attempted to play 8-Bit Armies / Invaders online.... I noticed there were two factions I could select that I didn't have.... Needless to say I searched there names. I found 8-Bit Hordes. I didn't wish list. I didn't follow. I didn't wait for a sale. I put it in my cart and purchased it as quickly as I could click and the transaction would go through. I installed. I started playing. I had a blast. I'm now typing this to you. Petroglyph is outstanding. 8-Bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's simple, but prety fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike other RTS games, 8-bit armies does not try to make itself stand out by further implementing new "revolutionary" features. Instead, they took a good look back and saw what actually worked. They took the features that made old games like the early command and conquer games so successfull back, while adding whatever improvements newer games had to the mix. By reducing the amount of features and abilites the game manages to focus on whats most important: resource/production management,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun single player campaign. One of the best art designs I've seen for a long time and overall a blast to play. Best played on long trips if you don't have wifi
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like Command & Conquer, only with pixels, or lego as my son calls it. Its a good game to pass the time. I am not sure about the longevity but if you want a game with a nostalgia feel but with a twist, give this a go!
