unlabelledView post →Trying to find the earliest use of the right analog stick for camera control in a third person game and the oldest game I could find was 40 Winks for the PS1. A 1999 3D platformer, very similar to Mario 64 in structure, developed by Eurocom. Is there any game older than this that did that?

Later, we’re playing our ONLY unlicensed game in the entire N64 challenge, 40 Winks! It released on PS1 and did SO poorly it never came out twitch.tv/thabeast721
unlabelledView post →I tried to take a nice selfie with my consoles, but for some reason it looks like I photoshopped myself in front of it. Oh well, we’re live now trying to knock out some post game content in Donkey Kong Bananza, then continuing 40 Winks for the N64 challenge! twitch.tv/thabeast721
unlabelledView post →I'm looking at the Atlantis: The Lost Empire PS1 game for some visual inspiration. I'm fairly certain it uses the same engine as 40 Winks (same developer, looks and controls very similar).
unlabelledView post →Played two games this evening. I tried out 40 Winks AKA Ruff & Tumble for the first time. A Eurocom platformer with colourful cartoony graphics and responsive controls. The other was good ole Medal of Honor on Playstation. That game never gets old. Then again, shooting Nazis never does either. 🤘🏻
unlabelledView post →What's a game that you played, but you feel like you're the ONLY one who's played it? 40 Winks is such a good game I highly recommend.
unlabelledView post →Thank you all that shown up to watch the rest of 40 Winks. That game was very mid for a 1999 3D Platformer but I enjoyed it enough to see what it offered. This Friday we going to continue my 1st time playthroughs with some Ms Pac Man Maze Madness.

unlabelledView post →Just finished streaming some 40 Winks; Game is nostalgic with some rough spots and designs but still nice overall. Thank you everyone that shown up today and we'll continue with more 40 Winks this Wednesday.
unlabelledView post →Random Game of the Day Day 54 - Piko Collection I bought this solely for 40 Winks as I've heard it's better than Super Mario 64 😉 But there's actually quite a few in this collection that I grew fond of as well. Especially Super Bubble Pop

Finally we can get a music rip.

unlabelledView post →#DendensGamingDen. Playstation 2024 purchase 122. 40 Winks. I had never heard of Ruff, Tumble or a Dream Warrior (Droomkrijger) in gaming, but 40 Winks did ring a bell. Apparently, localization did what localization used to do and still does sometimes. (1/3)
unlabelledView post →There was a game on the PS1 called 40 Winks which proudly quoted Nintendo Magazine as saying "Move over, Mario..." The N64 port was eventually cancelled.
unlabelledView post →I'm patiently waiting/hoping for a soundtrack rip of 40 Winks for Gameboy Color. Someone bought that unreleased prototype game a few years ago. We got a glimpse at the absolutely outlandish (and cool) soundtrack but a release of the game isn't possible they say, because of licensing shenanigans. :P
unlabelledView post →i think it's pretty funny how people think it's poor taste when video game ads/promotional posts directly address other games when the culture used to be steeped in "MARIO IS GONNA SHIT HIMSELF WHEN HE SEES 40 WINKS" marketing
unlabelledView post →Rem indeed reminds me a lot of 40 Winks game. Pyjama, candle, winks (little helpers) are very in theme.
unlabelledView post →Before I forget. I've got a list of games I've beaten in 2025. A few games finished on Evercade, including the original Tomb Raider, 40 Winks, Duke Land of the Babes and Zero. I guess I never really made time to beat any long, modern game last year. All vintage games including some fighters!

unlabelledView post →Finished up 40 Winks with today's stream! Overall, it's perfectly fine this game, and it really does add on some ridiculous difficulty with the combat on Hard mode, so if you ever do play it yourself, probably opt for Medium for a smoother experience.

unlabelledView post →That game I've not heard of, but this one is called 40 Winks. It's my childhood 😭😭
unlabelledView post →I didn’t hesitate to get it. Eurocom made a whole bunch of solid games during the 5th and 6th generation of consoles and I miss them dearly. 40 Winks might not be an amazing game by any stretch, but it belongs in the collection of every gamer with any love for Eurocom. unlabelledView post →i always found Rayman Rush for the PSOne having an unsettling feel as a little kid. though an actual spooky game was 40 Winks. but i was also playing Medal of Honor games just a bit later, so whatever. this was before i got my hands on an Alien: Resurrection disk :D D:

unlabelledView post →Although, I have a feeling finishing a game like Glover 2 would be a lot more daunting. 40 Winks from what I can understand was basically 100% finished and merely unreleased. Where the Glover 2 prototype is still a very fragmented, unstructured, debug mess full of unfinished assets. #N64 #Retro
