60 of 70 · most liked first73 / 100 Fast Paced? Oh yeah baby, my first game only lasted about 5 seconds! I've improved a little since then, a little, but games are still super quick. Keeps me coming back for one more go. Aim and controls are solid. Good for quick sessions to loosen up the thumbs & reflexes for an evening of twin-stick shooters. ✔️ Quick 'n' easy, yet super challenging game loop. ✔️ Aiming & controls are dialled in. ✔️ Push back/slide on player contact works well; keeps you on your toes. ✔️ Nerves…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely love this concept. Fast, fun, and ridiculously easy to play over and over again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like Devil Daggers meets Enter the Gungeon on ice. Matches are over quick and zero loading time means you're back in the action quick when you die, making this an idea "One more" game. For a game that only uses the analog sticks and one button, Void Prison has a surprising amount of depth and strategy to it. There are two main mechanics to be aware of in-game: charge and dodge roll. Your gun charges up as you fire, indicated by a blue meter on your sprite. After about three seconds' worth…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison is quite literally the single worst game I've payed for in the last decade. I payed $0.63 USD (after tax) for this game, and even then I feel cheated out of my money. The only reason I've played it more than half an hour is because I care about my achievement percentages. If I can ever convince anyone of anything through a Steam Review, please let it be this: Don't buy this terrible game. This entire game is one big loop of boredom and frustration. You have a tiny play area…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As many reviews say, it is a good "in and out" type of game. Play for a few dozens of minutes, leave, come back later and try to do better. Really worth the 3 bucks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/25 fun for 7 minutes before it crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison is an instantaneously fun twin-stick shooter with a twist: the real enemy is the ring border! It does kill immateriality upon contact and gets smaller over time, the enemies their projectiles are there to push you towards it and killing them does enlarge the ring. The game is quick, it has unlock-able power-ups, a good amount of different enemies and other good stuff. I only spent around 10 minutes in the game but felt the need to drop a positive review already, I totally recommend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Polished and tight, the sale price for this is a steal. It's like Devil Daggers reimagined as twin-stick bumper cars, with purposefully imprecise controls that force you to master both your gun knockback and being pushed around by enemy attacks. Rounds are short and intense, making this a perfect "one more try" game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison is yet another of literally hundreds of lazy amateur 2D retro top-down shooter/brawlers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. In terms of gameplay this one "works", it's neither too janky or too floaty, but that's all that it has going for it. It's a very simple wave survival/bullet hell type shooter in a small arena, designed for handheld gaming devices (Nintendo Switch). The primary interest is the various upgrades and pickups that seem…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a wonderful game! Unfortunately, a real hidden gem. A simple premise, stay alive as long as you can without hitting the outside. Bullets don't kill you! They stun you and push you. This unique mechanic can lead to some uncontrollable bouncing around but it's not bad. Void Prison's simplicity makes this budget game so much fun. It's a "just one more run" kinda game. Full video review, https://youtu.be/RRZLioEUfSk [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26701155-The-Pepp-Selection]…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun enough bullet hell shooter that has you avoiding a purple ring of doom. Currently encountering random crashes tho so I can't recommend. Once they get the crashing issues figured out it's worth the $3 asking price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and addictive little game, got a great level of challenge that push yourself to improve each run. It's worth its full price, also the devs listen to the community and that makes you love the game even more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended arcade die-and-try-again shooter! 10-mins of gameplay/review if you prefer video: https://youtu.be/_iJYkWqp0yU Void Prison is an awesome game to pick up even at full price, because it's in the less than $5 category and you'll easily get your money's worth in an hour or two. I'd recommend this to people that like chasing arcade style high scores. As a twin-stick shooter, the controls are very simple, but feel nice and fluid. Void Prison has a very intense feeling when…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Void Prison Review - 34 Hours In Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) After 34 hours in Void Prison, I’ve had a mix of fun and frustration with this bullet hell game. While it has some standout features, there are areas that need improvement. Here’s my take: Gameplay - Fast-Paced but Flawed The gameplay offers a typical bullet hell experience with frantic action and intricate patterns to dodge. The controls are responsive, which is crucial for this genre. However, I found some levels to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void PrisonVoid Prison is a fast-paced, arcade twin stick shooter where you play inside of an ever shrinking arena, the only way to expand the arena? kill enemies. I bought this back in 2022 and played an hour before promptly getting pissed off and quitting; because this game is difficult, if you are trying to get all the achievements that is. This was back when I hadn't played a whole lot of games like this, but I returned to it in 2023 to complete it and I honestly had a lot of fun.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a serious addiction. I can't stop playing . Simple idea, easy to figure out but very challenging and hard to get up the leaderboard. But once you get the hang of it you get better and you rise, im in the top 300 at this time, but im gettin better ,, The controller works great , the sounds are great , i like to blow up Sh&^ on Video games and this is great.. SImple Retro Arcade action any 1980's kid will enjoy ..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game and very creative concept. I like how bullets don't insta kill you but rather push you back. I think the only 2 major complaints I have about this game would be how the game can crash a lot, but after I had around 2 hours of playtime I didn't crash once. I also disliked how unnecessarily grindy the achievements are, especially the 1k tank kills. 8/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick Score: 5/5 Notes: Super simple fun arcade game. Highly Recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reached 53 sec with a touchpad. That's now one of my top 3 life achievements Overall, good game, would recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stylish quick fun, with a new hook on the classic twin-stick! Void Prison is a great game to play in short bursts. The controls are simple and smoothly implemented, plus the art style and the audio both have a lot of charm. The Power-Ups and enemy design make me want to come back and try it again to see if I can get the best score in my next run!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you just get the game to spend some times spamming bullets then ok but if you are looking at this game to achievement hunt, dont make the same mistake as me, do NOT get this game. The achievements are ridiculus and devs probable trolling us.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison is way more fun than it has any right to be. The game concept is so simple yet the game features a lot of clever design decisions that elevate this game into a hidden gem. To summarise what this game is about imagine you are a sumo wrestler with a gun and everyone wants to push you out of the ring. Unlike other shooters in this game you have no health bar so getting hit only pushes you around and disables your gun for a short period of time. Most of the time you’d rather not get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love it when an arcade-style game stays tight and simple, and delivers an satisfying experience that keeps calling you back. It's not the type of game I'll play for more than 10-15 minutes in a sitting, but I find myself thinking about and I keep jumping in for a few quick rounds before I sit down for a different game. A total steal for what I paid which was $0.50
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game, recommend 11/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun and addictive bullet hell - would highly recommend for everyone!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun little game to spend your time. Graphics are gorgeous, physics -smooth and polished. Really impressed. Have fun and reach number 1 spot at the leaderboards!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not up my alley; it is in my alley, and I will try to ignore it. In theory, I should enjoy this. I love twin stick shooters, bullet hells, and games with little to no meta progression, but Void Prison never grabbed me. If I had to guess why, I would say that the short, unforgiving runs exacerbate its flaws without playing on its strengths. The game demands tight mastery over its slippery controls, and asks this of you in an already-claustrophobic setting that only grows ever…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the worst games I've ever played. It might look good at first sight, and the core idea is also nice, but every aspect of this game is wrong in every way. The recoil and the sliding just make the movement worse. Enemy spawns are terrible, completely random, and they start shooting on the first frame, before you even know what enemy is spawning. Many times you'll die because of this. Also, your roll can't dodge through enemies, which makes it easy to get stuck among them sometimes. You can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting idea, terrible execution. Not sure who a game like this is for. Just annoying and no fun. You slide all over even when not firing your gun, but forget it if you are shooting, your gun forces you back and makes you even harder to control, so not a twin stick shooter really, more of a flick and shoot or become uncontrollable and die because you only die by hitting the boundary of the area... however, every collision sends you careening and your instinct is to fire AT the thing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's so frustrating, i love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to pickup. Really chill purple pixel art and effects. I had no idea what I was doing at first, but once I figured out the purple ring is the number one thing to avoid, I got really really into it. I showcased this for the Indie Game Collective, if you're interested in seeing some gameplay, checkout my YouTube video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqbcHjQ6lsE

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super enjoyable quick in'n'out game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game with responsive movement, fluid animations. Simple gameplay, yet engaging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very frustrating and challenging but I love it! I just keep on coming back trying to beat my high score. Catchy music and awesome graphics. Would highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, simple game! And it's super cheap! There are some things I'd like to see get changed though: There's a fullscreen on/off option, but no way to actually change the window resolution. To start a game, you have to move with the left stick AND press the dodge button. I'd prefer to start with just one button, or at least have a quick start option. Thanks for a great game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic little arcade game, for quick pickup and play sessions. Its not Steamdeck verified (atm) but it runs without any issues. I aslo play via gamenative on my Odin 2, and runs flawlessly. Im nearly at 3min, idk how other people have such high time scores, but the game is fun for what it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't be fooled. It looks simple and it is. But a challenge for sure. Worth your time and money for a fun little game. The runs are very quick and when you get hit, you are pushed back instead of taking damage. If you the touch the "void ring" you lose.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has very little features but it's a nice little game for 2-10min at a time whenever I feel like it. The price was reflecting that too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Potentially good game, but falls short in many ways. Enemies spawn randomly and sometimes on top of you and fire without warning, making the game mostly about luck. The arena is too crowded, leaving no room to dodge or aim, making it about chaos, rather than skill. Shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT RECOMMENDED. Simply put, the biggest achievement of this game is wrist pain. These mouse controls and the need to constantly spin the mouse aim is painful to say the least. It is an extremely repetitive game that is also timed and pretty much a horde mode and an extremely difficult bullet-hell game. Imagine a bullet hell game where you cannot fire when you dodge. You will get hit and it will suck. The power ups do not last long enough and the basic gun is super under-powered, meaning the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OMG so much fun yet so simple. I crave and dig the internet for this type of unlimited fun kind of games. Love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool concept and fluid gameplay, although I find it annoying how you can't see entire arena while being in the center and get shot from invisible enemies. Also it would be better if enemies had a tiny delay after spawning before shooting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison is a dynamic, endless arcade twin-stick shooter that immerses players in a continuously contracting arena. Your objective is to survive by combating the enemies that appear around you while avoiding being engulfed by the void. Achievements can be completed to unlock new skins and power-ups, allowing you to climb the leaderboards. This game offers an exhilarating twist: the primary threat is the encroaching ring border. Contact with the border results in instant elimination, and as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game, as good as the port as W.A.N.D Project in N. Switch, congrats
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess it's good for what it is worth. I 100%-ed the game in 3 hours and got the 5th place on the global leader board for survival. Checking the discussions I can see that it's a good thing they changed the late game enemy kill requirement from 1000 to 50.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All hail the RNG! I have more play time by $team is siht and the game crashed. I guess it maybe gets fun at some point, but it was just annoying and dull and I couldnt see it changing from what the screenshots show. The boring art mixed with the tiny area and very short game rounds makes for zero fun. If you are lucky you will get some drops/upgrades, and if you are lucky you wont get flung into a wall 2 seconds later, and if you are lucky you might enjoy it. After the game crashed and I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big word no need, addicting like gamble, fun, No pays, many unlockables, challenging, Good for potatos easy eyes, Not bad, progressive difficulty, Easy controls, 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant twin stick shooter with 7 hours battery life. Should be VERIFIED as it plays perfectly on Steam Deck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addicting game! Can pick up and play in small chunks easily, always trying to get a longer run then your last one. Runs perfectly on the Steam Deck also.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not my genre... too limited, the hit stuns you way for too long
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazingly fun and addictive. Its really hard to not go for one more round and the idea behind it is creative. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Void Prison played on the venerable #SteamDeck! https://youtu.be/z7S4f3-rxzE #gameplay #indiegame #voidprison #videogames
unlabelledView post →Amazing fast-paced survival arena shooter. The constant action is addictive and pushes you to your limit!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple yet challenging, a perfect time killer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its all good except there's should be a short tutorial added , more soundtracks, and maybe some gun variety because that would increase replayability
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty neat game that unfortunately suffers a bit from the execution of a lot of mechanics. The biggest issue off the bat is that the controls feel extremely slippery. They have a weird sense of momentum that doesn't feel amazing, but this coupled with the fact that the gun will force you back causes an issue where you just feel like you're on ice the whole time. This gets combined with the small arena and the huge knockback you get from enemies makes it extremely frustrating because…
