60 of 80 · most liked firstOk let's get it straight, right up front - this is an early 2011 game, not 2015 like it says on the Steam store page. It came out before Euro Truck Simulator 2 and was the last of SCS Software's "18 Wheels of Steel" series. The second thing to straighten out is the price. The game is still sold by [url=http://www.extremetrucker2.com/]the publisher for $9.99, and you can also find it cheaper on [url=http://www.cheapshark.com/search?q=extreme%20trucker%202]a number of competing game services.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me this game is totally worth it for the Nostalgia value alone as I played it so much back in the days. It might not be for those who expect a trucking simulator though, as it's more of a select a job and drive ahead game (only quick jobs) - in case that's what you're searching for, better go & check out ATS or ETS2. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VERY poor graphic, not intuitive controls, like 15 years old game. Unacceptable for 19,99 euro, absolutely Unacceptable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i feel bumed that i wasted my money on this game. thought it was going to be better than the first 18 wheels of steel..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustrating issue and crashing. I enjoyed this game back in its prime time when I was able to run it perfectly on my older and less powerful systems I had back in the day on a disk and not the steam version. In the current modern windows 11 era, I like many users had an issue with upon opening the game it would crash to desktop right away. Followed a guide posted on the steam forums to create a config file to put in my documents game folder and it did work, but now I sadly receive an out of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun to see what SCS were up to before the huge success of ETS and ATS. It's a much simpler game, with basically just the equivalent of "quick jobs". The locations are varied and quite interesting, with things like an ice road, Yungas Road etc. but the maps are rather small. The driving is perhaps more challenging than later games, with tighter time limits (forcing you to break traffic rules to deliver on time), but the driving and truck are highly simplified and more arcade-like. The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game dosent even load not worth it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it simply won't launch. i bought this game years ago and i've got 10 minutes of "gameplay" aka the first 2 seconds from the intro music and that's it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont know what are the problems... okay, 20€ doesnt worth it, but sometimes you can get it for $2 but i would say that it worth $5 as well. A good trucking game, its more job oriented than ETS2, but if you are a truck maniac you will like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely horrible. The controls are sloppy and unresponsive. Plus, It crashes halfway through Montana.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is rubbish, doesnt even load into the game, whata joke
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GREAT GAME FOR A FEW BUCKS!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still an old gem -> the sequel of "Extreme Trucker": Plus 2 new areas: Montana + Bangladesh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't like not being able to just drive to different areas. Instead you can only pick a load and just go on a slow journey for a couple minutes. Don't waste your $10. Not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got to play this once than the game wouldn't let me open it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game loaded once and thats it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EN: If anyone is having issues with the game launching then immediately closing, download the config.cfg file from the link below and put it in the 18 WoS Extreme Trucker 2 folder inside Documents.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ETS 2 with more variety and only marginally worse graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a classic from SCS. I remember playing this game in 2011 on wildtangent because i didn't know what steam was yet lol. If you didn't play it back in the day it probably won't be that impressive by today's standards, but if you remember this game, that nostalgia wave will hit you like a freight train. There is one issue with the game in its current state, a config file must be added to the game directory to get it to launch as it appears windows has broken the way this game starts up,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game may be old and outdated compared to newer SCS games, but it introduces the player into trucking in an easy, non-confusing way. Only downsides that come with the game are: The capped speed limit (50 Km/hr); The really slow AI; A non-costumizable view (like that of ETS2 and ATS); The REALLY outdated engine Overall, it is a pretty easy game to learn but it has suffered from the technological limitations of SCS' Prism3d engine.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Different trucks'n'cargos, a few interesting places for a ride, your favourite music & nostalgia. Simple but so pleasant and relaxing combination.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cant open this ♥♥♥♥
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4. 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin' I have tried to play this game, it closes at launch. It refuses to open. I have given up.
unlabelledView post →this is a fun game and a lot of the time instead of completing routes i will just drive around and listen to the music i ported into the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My game has been staying on the Rated E picture for a few seconds then it says that Extreme Trucks 2 is not responding. Please fix this I have a bunch of saved day\ta on this game and I would love to play it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its better than ETS 2, its my opinion :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gots to has my 18 wheels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is NOT worth the dosh !! Thats all there is to it, nothing else to say.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those of you that were able to start the game once but then the game crashed at every statup: • Go in File Explorer to Documents\18 WoS Extreme Trucker 2 • Edit config.cfg • Make sure that r_device is set to "dx9" (the whole line should be uset r_device "dx9")
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great classic from SCS, hopefully one day some of the roads will make thier way into ATS, funny enough this game runs on a very early version of the ETS2 engine (Check the map editor its the same as TNT, STDS and ETS2 V1)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok wow great game guys !!! now to the eurotruck sim guys ,and ats guys that are waiting for an aussie truck sim this is it till the next one is created , and too the people who miss the iceroads of mexuscan map in ats the ice road textures were taken from this game this has aussie outback and ice roads included the game is awesome thanks scs !!!! 8 out of 10 would of been 10 out of 10 but we have seen the graphics of ats and ets 2 now ..................EXTREME//..........
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It does not work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it heaps more fun with mods but still a great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good Truck Simulator you must play if you like ATS and/or ETS2 like me. It has not the freedom like in the other mentioned games but it's worth and fun to do some transpot in Alaska, the Rocky Mntns, a very narrow mountain road in South America and somewhere in South China and Australia, I like the variation a lot. And it has it's own atmosphere in each area. I have a controller and even a T128 Wheel but I prefer to play with keyboard cause it's confusing to configure the controller…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS FLOPPY ERA DEMO ! i give this demo : 1.5/10 !!! ==== There are 8, 18 wheels of steel games in total, all are available in steam. i bought 3 of them on steam probably on sale each for 1$ or something, and after so 4 maybe 5 years i finally said let's play them and see what they are. i remember i played one of these games as a child, which one i don't remember, but i do remember even as a child i only played it for 2~3 hours max and i didn't enjoy them that much even back then.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy this game if you are looking for steering wheel support. I use the logitech g920 and although it works, it works rather poorly. For whatever reason the game does not use the settings put into the logitech g hub app. As a result the steering is super stiff. The centering spring is always at 100% and it is not fun to play with and it is particularly bad for your steering wheel. Mine heated up very quickly and gave off a burning smell. I played this game as a kid and it was cool to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a good game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont get it!!! The graphics are TERRIBLE, controls are BAD!!!! I dont recommend this!!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heres to start, 1. Controller Isn't fully supported, 2. You are like sitting on the steering wheel,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is okay can you have more destinations and more realistic roads and more realsitic trucks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great blast from the past! Purchased because of not paying for it when it originally came out. One thing you need to do before it launches: create a config.cfg file (make sure it's .cfg and not .cfg.txt like Windows defaults without telling you). Instructions easy to find in the discussion. Supports 4k! Although there are some visual artifacts.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →same as the 1st game except it has more maps, if you like older trucking games just buy this one over the 1st one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decided to finally complete this game after all these years. It obviously has problems, but was still a good time at the end of day. I'm not going to lie, I had nostalgia goggles on, so take this review with a grain of salt.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developed by SCS Software and published by Cosmi Valusoft, 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2 takes the familiar formula of long-haul trucking and injects it with a stronger sense of danger and adventure. Instead of spending most of its time on predictable highways, the game challenges players to deliver valuable cargo through some of the harshest landscapes imaginable, where unstable roads, unpredictable weather, and unforgiving terrain become just as threatening as tight deadlines. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Father of Modern Truck Sims Graphics & Visuals: 7.5/10 For a 2011 trucking simulator, Extreme Trucker 2 still holds up surprisingly well. The visuals aren't revolutionary, but the art direction does exactly what it needs to. Snow-covered mountain roads, frozen lakes, muddy forest trails, and dangerous cliffside routes all have their own identity. Unlike many modern truck simulators that spend hours on endless highways, every region here feels handcrafted to offer a different challenge.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Song 2, I loved this OST so much, I used to boot the game just to listen to the music while doing homework. Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel, such a great game. youtu.be/s6zo6tZrO20

Released in 2011, this game is a nostalgic gem for fans of old-school truck simulators, offering a simpler yet challenging experience compared to modern titles like Euro Truck Simulator or American Truck Simulator.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great old-time driving arcade game. I live in PR and have driven a number of roads like this (even today). Worth every penny.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →18 Wheels of Steel Across America was probably among my most played games when I was maybe 9 or 10. I usually think of Eurotruck players as at least 17+, but I wonder if there are still kids these days who also just get hooked on driving a truck in a video game.
unlabelledView post →I dont know if its just me but this game is incredibly pretty. The official screenshots frankly don't do the game justice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →marche po criss
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was only able to play it for 5 minutes before it crashed, but those were 5 good minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only have this game because I played it when I was a kid and that's the only reason I like it. It isn't very good even by 2011 standards but its ok. Progression is to linear but its a good simple game you can bang out in a few weeks to a month and come back to every few years or so. Only buy it if its on sale
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game was a lot of fun when it was working. It just up and stopped there were never any updates. I own the cd for the game and installed it on an old computer with windows 7 and it works on it. So now when I want to play "18 wheels of steel extreme trucker 2 I have to get the old computer and boot up to play instead of using my Alienware 17 R 5 computer laptop for all games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than ATS!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Possibly one of my favorite 18 Wheels of Steel games. I would recommend this game as long as you add the config file that was missing while downloading the game. There is a guide to fix this, and it's not hard at all. Still, it's a good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game.. however no longer works ever since Windows had that update. Just crashes on start.
