positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't play this game for it's attention to detail or lack thereof. This isn't a high-stakes, high-adrenaline racing simulator. It's a window into your childhood, where running such a simple game would overheat your modest processor, and when delivering a package of frozen food to New York made you feel like you had the most important job in the world. 10-4, hand. Preeshaydit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best Truck Simulation back in the day, I remember spending hours and hours playing this as a kid, but after playing new Euro Truck Simulator 2, mechanics in this game just don't feel right anymore. I don't like that you can't turn your wheel 360, if only that was fixed this game would still be one of the best Truck Simulation games ever created. So would I recommend this game? Ofcourse, It's still pretty good, but mechanics are outdated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still an old gem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sweet childhood memories!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good old school truck driving arcade game, worth buying during a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oldies but goldies! This game is one of the best from 18 WoS´s series.. Not so realistic as new ones but it still has that atmosphere I remember from my childhood. You start with so-so truck and build your company from the ground. When you earn enough money you buy new truck and than again and again till best truck in game (Volcano 7NV7) .. than you can buy 7 more trucks and hire people to help you build your trucking empire... Avarage time to reach this point is about 20-30 hour of playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Any computer can run this these days. Works with W10 without problems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is 100% one of my childhood favorites! I would love to see a remaster off this gem!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the First ever Game that got me into Trucking and driving in a way, i played this every now and then, looking back feels strange the high class trucks are like rockets they'll just lauch off and you won't be able to stop in time unless you pay close attention, ai traffic is very noob and very funny... i play it because i want to roam whole America...Across America
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes me way back, and the game is still as fun. Dont trust the NPC-s, they drive like people in the real world....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game so I can give my support to the devs who made a core memory in my childhood and leave a review. This review is based on how I remember playing it around year 2004 - 2006. I remember I was in elementary school, excited for the weekend to play 18 Wheels of Steel: Across America with my Logitech Momo steering wheel. I don't know how road rules worked before, so I remember driving on the center of a broken white lane; Getting to car accidents and trying to run away from cops…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is older but very fun to play you compete against other trucking companies to be the the city's prefferd carrier for give it a go
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OLD Game...OLD Memories
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure this is worth a buy as there are many better games. Though I would love to see a remaster of this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →18 Wheels of Steel: Across America represents an early era of trucking simulators, a time when the focus was less on photorealistic worlds and more on capturing the rhythm and mentality of long-haul trucking across vast distances. From the outset, the game throws you into a career where the open road becomes both workplace and companion. Instead of dramatic storytelling or flashy presentation, it leans into the steady pulse of driving: watching the landscape roll by, monitoring your load,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this when it was first launched and clocked up meany hours on it, Yes this may be an old game but it was and still is an amazing game to play, ok the graphics are dated but is well worth the money and will also run on most laptops as well. If you want a trucking sim that is dated and will run on a laptop or older pc then this is the game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply love it. Simple & effective stress relief after a long day's work. Loved it back in the day, still loving it now. Hint: Volcano 7NV7 is the fastest truck, Kinetic 2T2 accelerates a bit slower but has way better handling. Have fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game as a child and i am so happy that it is on steam now. Nostalgia overload
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is what started trucking sim growing up and to this day it still holds charm. Annoying AI but you learn to deal with them or hit them at your expense. Why wouldn't your driving an 18 wheeler for Pete's sake shove them out of the way and put the hammer down! Steam needs to add 18 Wheels of Steel: Petal to Metal. Not a fan of convoy or haul-in.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my childhood game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a CD of this game back in my childhood, and got some time of fun with it for sure. Now I'm back with it in 2026, for some reason... And I'd say - surprisingly - it's still a nice one for taking for a spin, maybe just for 15 min - maybe for a couple of hours! Still pretty much of a catchy thing, imho. Comparing it with newer truck simulators? Well, I'd say you shouldn't go for any comparison. "Across America" is too unique especially nowaday - so, I'm playing it alongside the other…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun game if you are into truck driving. I would deffiently recomend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im not satisfied vith this game. I downloaded and try to run it but it show somw error and shut down. Whi pay 9,99 €?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All the beautiful, pleasant and relaxing things this game has to offer are ruined by the horribly programmed traffic. Traffic is programmed exclusively to destroy your truck, cargo and gameplay. I wouldn't even call this a bug, but the rudeness of the developers who were not capable of creating normal traffic, even in the previous game (Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel) the traffic was more normal. Here, cars stop directly in front of you, take the right of way, and crash into you just to damage…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every game has its pros and cons. Let's look at this game's pros and cons; shall we? And, to be quite clear, these pros and cons are based on my personal experience with this ol' game! Pros * Has freemode! Ie make money on your own time. * Keep an eye on the gas gauge! The whole gas gauge realism may seem like a con, but it is not. Your tank WILL run empty! The realism of it sure beats the Grand Theft Auto games! * The nostalgia is real! So, for those who played it back in the day on disk,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its the original. Its no ATS but in a way its better, as you have old + new trucks instead of just new trucks. I'm a fan of the Ford CL-9000 so....and played this game alot when it was new
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the childhood' greatest games. Hats off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An all American trucking simulator where you take on the role of a meth-addled freelance trucker tasked with moving cargo from sea to shining sea while you work towards building your own trucking empire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →18 Wheels of Steel is an old contemporary of the Euro Truck Sim games. Run a trucking business, drive across the USA in a big rig and deliver your cargo for profit. As the old saying goes, you can't go home again. The game has not aged well, there's no HD support and no widescreen support. This would be a decent candidate for a remaster, but as it is today, it's not worth buying, it's just too far gone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage no gps and i get this error for no reason Corrupted installation please reinstall application from cd wtf in purchased on steam i dont have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cd
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the 18 WOS game I started on many years ago. Back then, it was a simulator. These days, it's more of an arcade game. It has several features that the later installations in the series do not. I would recommend this game for anyone who wants a good taste of nostalgia. Pros: *Still works well on Windows 7 and up *Game has aged well, and still retains its charm *Decent sized map *Your smart watch can probably run this with ease Cons: *Graphics are outdated and unrealistic (don't expect…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a long time ago, and it was amazing. I was younger, and it was very fun. Nostalgia. This is more arcade game than new games from this studio (ATS / ETS2), but can be enjoyable. But if you played ATS / ETS2, you need time to get used to it. Other physics (if it exists), different rules. Works great on Windows 8.1 / 10 with a resolution of 1920x1080 without any problems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed playing this game. You can deliver cargo across america, and upgrade your truck. The a.i can crash into you that can be annoying when you have a load worth a lot of money. The cops will chase you if you speed or missing a weigh station. Your truck can be totalled if you crash too much where wheels come off or the bumper comes off. The controls for this game is keyboard only but if you have steam input and download the template its easy to control with a gamepad. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Song 2, I loved this OST so much, I used to boot the game just to listen to the music while doing homework. Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel, such a great game. youtu.be/s6zo6tZrO20

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the best 18 wheels of steel game out of all the ones out there. Albeit being from 2003, it's a definite step back from the previous one. I tried setting it up right, tried to get it to run properly but it just ended up crashing minutes later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →18 Wheels of Steel Across America was probably among my most played games when I was maybe 9 or 10. I usually think of Eurotruck players as at least 17+, but I wonder if there are still kids these days who also just get hooked on driving a truck in a video game.
unlabelledView post →this game is nostalgic, i used to play this game back in the day in my dad's laptop. The game is simple to play, you just deliver cargo from city to another city. What i like from this game: - quite good graphic (for an old game) - simple gameplay - variable cargos to deliver - good soundtrack What i don't like from this game: - some glitch and bugs (especially when you talking to another trucker, sometimes their trailer are doing like a lowrider stuff) - bad render distance
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i want a refund back to my bank it doe not work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →doesn't work , no support from steam, don't bother

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A true piece of the master.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is quite nostalgic for me. My father and I bought this game back in 2004. Since then I've had a lot of fun playing it. Back then, this game was actually quite difficult. Mainly because it was a simulation game that doesn't hold your hand, and because of the clunky controls even then. It's still a lot of fun, I didn't even expect this game to be on Steam! Pros: - The map is pretty big, it looks smaller then it is - Free mode: you can decide where you want to start and which…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why do i keep getting a error you have delivered the wrong cargo at the targeted location ?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those who played this one during childhood, here's a perfect opportunity to nostalge a bit)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, a cool old gem, in the SCS series, sure its old and the graphics looks like shat compared to nowadays, look past all those glaring issues, and you my friend, will have a decent game, nostalgia really gets your attention and if you played this during your childhood, i promise you, on top of the above things, you won't have a bad time playing this.
