Yar's Revenge is a rail shooter video game developed by Killspace Entertainment and published by Atari. It is a reboot of Yars' Revenge, the original Atari's 1982 shooter for the Atari 2600. It was released for the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade and Windows in April 2011. I can't think of anything! Co-workers: Okay, you lose a point. Skip! Me, at home: .........................Yoshi's Story. 😐

Gameplay is frogger but kanny has been playing Yar's Revenge and shouting and having a good time. She said yar is the best Atari game.

unlabelledView post →It's Yar's Revenge, for Game Boy Color! Telegames was an odd company, largely existing to carry on support for dead American consoles like the Atari 2600, Colecovision, and Jaguar. Perhaps the Atari connection explains the decision to make a brand new Yars remake in 1999. #randomgamesaturday
unlabelledView post →One of my favorite Atari 2600 games was Yar's Revenge; a pretty simple shooter but compelling. The game even game with a comic book explaining the specie's origin and their evolution into the modern Yars warrior.
unlabelledView post →I tell you what kind of game I'd like to make: A new take on Yar's Revenge. I really like that mechanic where you eat the target's shield to fuel the weapon you use to destroy it. Maybe that, combined with a general Galaga-type shooter?

unlabelledView post →The first game console I remember owning was the Atari 5600 in the early 90s. We had some games for it - Yar's Revenge, Centipede, Pac-Man, and yes, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. I remember liking Yar's Revenge the most. Eventually, we got an NES. It was the second wave of the classic NES...
unlabelledView post →Have you played #Atari today? My life between 1980 and 1984 was all about Atari. I still have all my stuff including all games (no boxes sadly - we didn't keep them back then). I was going to have my original modified but then I bought this one pre modified and re-capped for £95 which means my heavy sixer can stay pure and untouched. The game is Yars' Revenge I got my first ZX Spectrum in 1984 (just as I started at Comprehensive school). #retrogaming #8bit #atari2600 #gamer #yarsrevenge

Also "what is this, what is that, and what am I supposed to do" is a general Atari issue if you've never played a certain game before. Yar's Revenge flummoxed me before I looked up how to play it.

Howard discusses working with Steven Spielberg, designing games like Yar's Revenge & Raiders of the Lost Ark, having the E.T. cartridges buried in a New Mexico desert, & more!

unlabelledView post →It would be called RABBIT RUN and you'd be trying to outrace a tyrannosaur that was trying to eat you. Why a tyrannosaur? Look kid, Yar's Revenge has a crazy story about alien flies. You wanna play this game or not? That's right, you do. Now throw that ET cartridge in the trash and pop this in.

unlabelledView post →The night that I rolled a single "Yar's Revenge" game over four times. (That was a score of 4,000,000+.) The prehistoric Atari 2600 model didn't have a pause button, either, so there was more'n a wee bit of pain involved. 🤣😆😂
unlabelledView post →Arguably the best game on the Atari 2600. Ironically, the same man who created Yar's Revenge also gave us E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
unlabelledView post →I give HSWWSH a lot of leeway, because he also made one of the better games on the Atari 2600 (Yar's Revenge), and also because making a compelling game based on E.T. is a fool's errand, especially on such limited hardware. And as you mentioned, there are certainly worse 2600 games.
unlabelledView post →This. This was how you sold a game back in the early days!! I love old boxart like this! This would sell me Yar's Revenge! (And to be fair, the art is actually pretty close to what the game itself is)
unlabelledView post →Fester's Quest is one of many, many Nintendo games that I never finished. But that was a time when actually finishing a game was still a fairly new concept. I was used to games that had no end. You finished Demon Attack or Yar's Revenge when you got tired of dying.

unlabelledView post →I did some digging and apparently the Yar's Revenge game came with a comic book for backstory, and the album is based on that. We had the game but all our Atari stuff was second hand so no manuals or anything

I wonder what Atari would have done had the crash not happened. Yar's Revenge is another classic that needs to be played.
