positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute but pretty bad. It's busy with unclear hitboxes and indicators. Quite a few times I was hit by seemingly nothing and in a game like this that's real bad. My other major gripe is that outside of your starting weapon the auto aim feature is just awful or flat out doesn't work. The laser gun you get is just an auto fire and you still have to aim manually. Again, if the game was less cluttered and busy, being able to aim would be no issue but it is so it is. Really there's just alot of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was waiting for this game to launch since I played the prologue. To my surprise and happiness, the game came at a very affordable price, so I instantly bought it! It's an extremely addictive and well-made game. The art is stunning! If you enjoy the "vampire survivors" type of game, this is one of the best options available.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I unlocked everything way before the end of the game came. The amount of time you had to repeatedly play each of the only 3 levels became absurd. I was just tired by half way through. It was boring to the point of putting me to sleep at this point because of repetition. for this reason I cant recommend it. If you however are into that sort of thing, have at it.

X Invader, an Early Access title, attempts to meld classic arcade shooter elements with the intrigue of hacking, offering an experience that's as exhilarating as it is divisive. In this review, we'll dive into what makes X Invader stand out, but also explore its shortcomings as. Game Experience : First and foremost, the game's pixel art is…

X Invader is a Bullet Hell Roguelite game. 3 Different game modes with 15 levels each one, big variety of skills and evolution, characters and weapons with a very solid gameplay of about 15 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[後半に日本語レビューあり] Cute Animal Hackers vs Cyberpunk Megacorps: A Twin-Stick Survivors-like Roguelite Set in 2080, corporations have seized control of everything. Rinascita, a hacker collective, dispatches their ace code-cracker X to breach three megacorp servers and expose the truth. The premise is lean but it establishes a lively cyberpunk tone throughout. What sets the gameplay apart from its peers is the twin-stick control scheme: unlike passive Survivors-likes where combat runs on auto-aim,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason the game slows down when your character walks. I have a 4090 with ram to spare, so this vexes me coming from a game that's 2D
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works on Steam Deck. levels load a little slow but game runs great, doesn't lag, etc.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they act like you can make builds to just to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steal everything away cause rng cancer oh lets make it so its a event where they are immune to 2/3 the damage types cause that wont make leveling up worthless or anything or you know the fact they act like you can counteract it but oh whats this THE PERK CHOOSING IS RNG SO YOU JUST END UP GETTING ♥♥♥♥♥♥ OVER AND BASICALLY BEING LEVEL 5 WHEN YOU ARE LEVEL 30 REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GREAT if you are going to make them randomly immune to damage types you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredibly fun and made with a lot of heart. I love the creativity and the personality put into the Hackers, the boss characters, the designs of the enemies, and how creative the synergies and builds can get. There's so many options to change up your playstyle, the game takes great advantage of its being a digital world to really go crazy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →X Invader hits you with a blast of 8-bit nostalgia and injects it with a shot of frenetic action. You become X, a master hacker diving into the digital world to crack corporate servers. Forget about sprawling narratives and deep lore – this is all about quick bursts of arcade-style fun. The initial draw is the sheer amount of unlockables. Every run throws new weapons and hacking add-ons your way, each with unique effects and playstyles. It's like a dopamine buffet – you gotta try every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement, core gameplay itself and aesthetic is pretty good. But imo, there's something missing here. I don't thumbs this down because the game is fundamentally bad, but because the development feels somewhat slow, and it just dies for more content, build diversity and general variety. It's not possible to rebind controls either from what I can tell. The UI still has some issues, and certain hitboxes are unclear. There's potential here, but if this is nearing the end of the EA, I don't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start my review by saying the core gameplay of this game is really fun. There are many synergies and combinations to mix and match, and it all feels fun to play around with. The reason I DON'T reccomend this game is because it only has two levels (with only one more planned for full release). After just maybe 12 hours of gameplay, I feel like there is really no point in me continuing to play. I've had my fill of the core gameplay system and with no other levels to mix things up,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is SO LOUD I CANNOT PLAY. on literally 1 volume using my keyboard to turn it on from 0. Also soft locked before the first level loaded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve played so many of these, and this is one of the least enjoyable of them all. Not recommended.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's pretty fun honestly. no regrets from me. yeah it's similar to 20 Minutes till Dawn and Vampire survivors, but the powerups are fun, the weapons are interesting, and honestly, the game has a degree of comedy to it. also several women with oversized... ahem. the game also has loads of references to video games and memes. also loads of playable characters each with different abilities. also, about the weapons. there aren't many. what's there is diverse though. but what it lacks in initial…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its great. If only there would be more frequent updates adding new content. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just boring and I think that's the worst thing a bullet hell like this could do. There are free Bullet hells that do way more than this there art on point, there mechanics are solid but the game play is just so dull and I don't get it. I'm really not trying to bash the devs I,m really not but something is seriously missing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bad options , 1 viable weapon . boring overall
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fun charming arcade game that has references to other forms of media. still needs work done and certain perks fixed but its a decent 7.5 out 10 for a early access release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the demo and the release is just as good. Also have to praise that the meta upgrades feel different to prioritize. Usual start with gold, exp and magnet doesn't work here. Well, you can probably with a good build, but it's nice to get into the other stats sooner. Looking forward to all the content this game has.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Not bad, but not great either. It's five bucks, and I got it on sale. There is a solid game here, hooowever there's too much repetition. I can't find myself caring about the logs or emails for story bits sadly. I tried to make a commitment to actually finish all the levels before making a review, but I'm just finding myself burnt out on it. There are plenty of games that do a very similar gameplay loop, with a little more variety to be given. Hitboxes and indicators are also wonky. Some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit lacking compared to other games in the genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a charming game. The enemy designs ooze personality, especially the ooze. There are four weapon types currently available, and they feel very distinct from one another. Additionally, there's plenty of build variety to enjoy, and a steadily increasing challenge available to match the meta-progression. At the time of review, X Invader is still in early access, with an active developer. Even if no further content were to be added (which seems unlikely at this time), the game would still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love it so far. Good gameplay loop, definitely creative on how you level up and weaponry etc. I like the difference in the weapon play styles, makes your build actually totally different. Would recommend to anyone who loves rogue-likes, or even likes rogue-likes and want some variety in their game. I have witnessed the developer respond personally to posts, so they are definitely active with the community. Will keep playing and update along with full release!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"This game is nothing more than a shameless knockoff of Vampire Survival, and it's evident from the get-go. It's disappointing to see a game that lacks originality and simply attempts to cash in on the success of a popular title. From its gameplay mechanics to its overall concept, this game shamelessly borrows everything from Vampire Survival without adding any meaningful innovations. It's a blatant attempt to ride on the coattails of a better game's success, and it fails to bring anything new…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't like to be a bringer of bad news but damn. I like the premise behind the perks system game is packed with references and i like visual style but man it has issues. I finished every run by stopping the process with task manager because game simply wouldn't respond weather i won or not, if it is minimalized for too long it freezes to death too, some elements seem to be made without any thought put in it for example second map is pretty much impossible to do with rockets and translation…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of today, Aug 27th, 2023, I am happy to say the softlock issue has been fixed. I've been able to play several runs in a row without any issues. So i'm able to change my review to a recommended. The game is still a bit rough around the edges but as it's early access i am confident in saying that any problems will be ironed out in the future. I love the aesthetic and the gameplay. I'll leave up my old review below just for posterity's sake. Again, i recommend the game now that i can actually…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a survivor-like, but it has some nice charm to it and feels a little more hands-on than other survivor-clones. The boss fights are fun and the power-ups feel meaningful a few runs: https://youtu.be/jIr2ROGUm14?si=vCH2GExAv1hBTpR0
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. Like a Hades, but you hack the bad corporation server. Small stories are fun, many build, really decent price. Played the hell out of the Prologue and was 100% buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, but it gets boring after a while because you're playing the same 3 levels over and over again. The characters are cute, and the weapons are fun to use, but there's a noticeable lack of content in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initially I didn't enjoy this game, but I gave it a few more weeks with some odd runs here and there. Eventually, I managed to stumble across a useful collection of abilities and was able to push deeper into the game and gain access to a significant number of weapons, characters, and upgrades. After a lot more time, I finally found the snowball effect I was looking for. Some weapons are clearly better than others and when you discover the beneficial interactions between the various skill…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A throwback to some great dual thumb stick games. I like it 8 out of 10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What's this? A game I can show in public? More likely than you think, friends list. X Invader is a top-down-twin-stick-arena-shooter with rogue-lite elements that follows the Elite Hacker X as he attempts to Invade several corporations and liberate slime waifus. Man that was a mouthful to type. Okay maybe it's not exactly about rescuing slime wiafus but the game is currently in Early Access so the story is incomplete. Also there is a slime girl and she is adorable. Moving on. Each stage is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edited for 1.0 release: This game is not as grossly complex as some of the other top-down horde shooters, but it offers a lot of "pick up and play" replay value. There is a simple plot that develops as you clear levels, 5 distinct weapons to pick from with their own in-run upgrade trees, a very large number of costumes with passive effects, equippable gear to upgrade select aspects, and an appreciable cast of supporting characters who offer interesting skill trees to you during runs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can see why she's called Peacemaker
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an enjoyable Survivors-like so far. I had posted a few localization issues I had with the game when I first played the demon in Next Fest and the dev was relatively quick to get better translations. The game is improving over time adding interesting things that most (if not all) of the negative reviews haven't seen. Each weapon has its unique playstyle and each feels viable. Unlockable characters and unlockable upgrades (soul codes) add to the replayability. They've recently added…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This survivor brings its own charme into the genre and while right now its not without its issues - the developers seem to care alot about their game and their players. Not great yet but still fun - with alot of potential to become really great! For now - recommended on sale :-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OMG I LOVE THIS GAME (I HAVEN'T BEATEN IT YET THOUGH LOL). Just beginning, it seems to have some sort of story which already intrigues me. Secondly, I love how it never gets boring (again, only so far, plus if you do somehow get tired of losing runs you can always take a break on a different game or have fun with friends or smth?) plus it's just super fun. The idea of having other give you upgrades and only being able to upgrade your main every so often is great. Definitely a great game and I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best "Survivors-style" games I've played so far (and I've played a LOT). The art direction is amazing, the humor is just right, and the selection of perks/characters/weapons and their combinations are outstanding and makes me want to try multiple runs with different setups. There are some performance issues but the devs are responsive in both the Discussions and Discord and they keep patching the game (sometimes multiple times a day) to fix issues. 8.5/10 so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is quite a fun game i just got it its supper fun and addictive i like the graphics and i love it when games if this kind let you have control of your attacks instead of it be a auto shooter. and crap i like the weapons so far tho i think honestly we need more weapon variety im not to far in the game but have them all and i looove how they each have there own upgrade trees that change how they work and makes each play threw addictively fun and makes me wuna do more runs if you like 20 mins…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/A-UrS-jXUXI Even if the immediate meme character jokes land a simple chuckle at an old reference is not able to carry this game into the foreground despite being otherwise functional.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its crashed after 45ish minutes of game-play multiple times. theres no in mapping and the controller support is horrible so iv been playing in an uncomfortable way the whole time and i just regret the whole ♥♥♥♥ show. im just angry as hell at it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good game that comes with a few laughs for just 5 bucks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →please, PLEASE, let me turn off attack numbers the lag i cant handle it late game more settings like turning of attack numbers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, so three things to get out of the way. The game can be repetitive. It's a rogue lite vampire survivors esque top down shooter and it does get progressively more fun and difficult as you go. Now that those three things are out of the way... I like it. It's heavily front loaded on lore/story up to level 6 of each stage, but once you get past that point, the whole game basically opens up. You pick up synergies, you pick skills you want pre-unlocked, you can change weapons to suit your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →'s okay. not much content, but fun enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just fun to sit down and play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played this game for a little over an hour. I'm still learning about the abilities and combos. Pros: Gameplay is fun Graphics look good Sound is good Interesting abilities and combos Cons: My game crashes every time I exit I need to work with the controls a bit. The keyboard controls don't feel good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think X invader is a nice roguelike and for the price it's good! but the're some fundemental flaws with it like the sound design is subpar, the laughing of the first boss of the second region is annoying and gets old really quick. And the second boss of the first region seems very disconnected from the game which destroys the immersion. Update! They changed the Vaccine Crasher! which im so happy about. It's viable now, I just beat the 14 version of the first world and it did pretty well! I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute roguelike game in the vain of vampire survivors. Reccomended for cute cats and anime/video games references
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great rogue-like arena bullet heaven/X/hell with plenty of available builds and tons of progression and increasing difficulty and variety. Catchy music and sounds, amusing parodies, lots of homage and references to other great games, smooth controls and pleasing graphics. It's pretty wacky and self-aware. The hacker gods and unique weapons are definitely Hades inspired(which is a GOOD thing). The developer is active on the Steam forums - helped me with a progression loss bug literally straight…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →totally see myself getting lost in this game i'll update after i'm out of the rabbit hole and let ya know.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gameplay: before you begin a level. you have the option to choose from different weapon types once those weapon types are unlocked. you can also upgrade you're character stats as well. you'll have to grind through the stages and earn coins to do any upgrades. when you're fighting in a stage, hackers will add upgrades. there's plenty of combinations to choose from. controls: you'll be using both joysticks and multiple controller buttons. I don't think the layout for some of the buttons is the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit 9/13: I talked about a bug involving vaccine crasher, but it was solved in the latest bug fix, so I removed this negative point from my review, props to the team <3. Alright, I think 10 hours is enough to make an early review of the game, I will come back later as well when the game receives new updates. I think this game is fun and it's really polished for an early access. It already has a lot of content, like 10 different characters with different buffs to play with, 4 different main…
