Nice idea. Mostly competent gameplay. Nearly accomplishes a pretty engaging, somber, postwar atmosphere. Then you notice the civilians are all wearing renaissance faire garb because the devs bought the wrong asset pack, and Luke Skywalker's lightsaber and severed hand are laying around in a railway car. At which point, what even is the point of anything any more? It's not trying to be a halfway faithful simulation or immersive postwar house flipper-alike with atmosphere any more; just a bunch…

I really liked playing this game. It was fun and I enjoyed decorating the levels and the process of repairing everything and uncovering secrets. Unfortunately, I cannot ignore the decision the devs made with the recent paid DLC release. the Remagen map was once a free DLC. One required to 100% the game no less. There are achievements still tied to it. They removed the free map from the base game and locked it behind the new paid DLC. They did not have to do this. It is extremely concerning for…

An interesting game where you clean up WW2 rubble and rebuild. The walking speed is atrociously slow and you start off with severe inventory limits, but it definitely gets better as you go on. The physical locations are well detailed and resemble post-WW2 era photographs. The people though... they look like they belong in a cheap Witcher spinoff, and not 1940s Europe. The gameplay is slow and a lot about exploring, but I enjoy my time with it. There are some references to real WW2 events, such…

I really enjoyed this game, it scratches both the cozy game itch and the historical nerd itch. However I ran into an issue on the Essen map where one of the required objectives is missing. I emailed weeks ago to their support, and got no response. I joined their discord and got some help to try to diagnose the problem, but after a few suggestions up to and including a complete reinstall and starting over didn't fix the problem, I got ghosted. I want to continue playing, but I can't get past…

Probably the worst simulator ever. Very dull game play Also I see no complaints in the reviews but in the forums there are about the ladders, You need to climb ladders and place them to reach certain areas. Every ladder I have found throughout the game are nearly impossible to climb there is a hidden wall blocking you from climbing. You literally have to mash space for about 3 minutes just to get up a ladder. Repeat this about 30 times in one mission and you will have a lot of fun!

Tl;dr Boring, Bloated, Unoptimized The four major parts of the game, cleanup, demolition, building, and furnishing, are all very uninteresting to do. Cleaning out rubble is a slog of shaking your mouse around with the shovel equipped and then right clicking four boxes to empty your full pockets. The physics in ww2 rebuilder are terrible, which makes demolition a chore. Bulldozers will start doing cartwheels if you run over rubble, and wrecking balls kick up and over your target when you try…

Too many bugs, not enough decoration, many typos, and they portray all civilians as medieval even though it's the 1940s. Also, the building options aren't great, the game lacks content, and sandbox mode is disappointing. Really sad since this is such a great idea for a game, but the execution is unpolished, lackluster, and can be un-fun at times.

(Bought this on steam summer sale 2025 for 6,29 euros, played 12 hours at time of review(including the free dlc Remagen, though I didn't bother with decoration effort on any map, but that's my own choice so, it's not affecting my review score.) The gameplay in this game is quite satisfying. You break down stuff, replace and fix, you know the story with restoration games. Between maps, you get these intros with top-notch introduction and narration. 10/10 on that, imo. I didn't bother with the…

I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games like House Flipper or Castle Flipper, where you build and clean with no heavy time constraints. Despite the location the game s largely stress-free and it's satisfying to watch a city re-emerge from rubble. THE GOOD - A very generous free demo -The graphics are great, outside the absolutely but unintentionally terrifying faces on most the NPC's (Seriously, turned around in game and had one RIGHT THERE staring at me with death in his…

They bough a medieval asset NPC characters pack for a few bucks that look like they are from Skyrim. This shows that they absolutely don't care about their game or they are laughing at the players who bought their game. The devs took the money and stopped care even when almost everyone is pointing out that medieval NPCs do not belong in a WW2 game, absolutely ruining atmosphere and only mocking the people who actually lived in these devastating times. Oh and don't forget a Star Wars reference…

Fine chill game. Physics are too wanky, graphics too dark. There are so many bugs with achievements, that the developers are aware of, which requires so many of the levels to be replayed, so I am leaving an otherwise fine game with a bitter taste of the levels. The developers are aware of these issues but are not fixing them - this is not acceptable.

When you're young, destroying & killing is all you want to do in games. When you're older, rebuilding & mending feel more rewarding. It is nice to play something where you're doing a good service for a country broken by war, even if it's only make-believe. The additional stories of people during the period are a lovely touch, adding a layer of storytelling that is as inspirational as it is melancholic. Much as I enjoy this, some of what you do didn't feel like what a construction worker would…

As a casual game where you are working on various projects, it's ok. It's a bit janky in parts, with weird physics, and weird level geometry. But overall, it's FINE. What tipped my hand to a negative review was after dealing with an extremely mediocre gaming experience for several hours, I ended up losing several hours of progress to a fatal error of some kind. It was there that I learned that on top of the myriad holes in the game design, this game has no autosaving. This seems ludicrous…

TLDR: While the game's content is worth the price, this game is unplayable at times even with an RTX 3050. I first played this game in January 2023 and had no issues running this game at medium graphic settings. However, I have returned to this game in the last week and found that some levels (Hamburg, Remagen) are unplayable. Despite my NVIDIA RTX 3050 being able to handle games like Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3 with little to no issue, this game just can't run properly on my system. On…

For those that come after. The first air raid of World War 2 to reach my home town of Cologne happened on the 12th of May 1940. Thousands upon. thousands of tonnes of bombs were dropped on the city. When the smoke finally cleared on the 6th of March ´45 and the city was captured by the allied forces the city was little more than rubble. The only landmark of note remaing was the grand cathedral standing at its heart, which the air force had been ordered not to attack but collateral damage was…

I really liked this game for as simple as it was, but there are just too many bugs that at best hinder progression and at worst completely stop you. I had several instances of me playing the level normally and mission-critical objects either disappearing or the physics engine making the object in question sit in unreachable places.

This is about a 20 hour game mixing building destruction, clean up and history in one grand package. The game gives you a tour of post-WW2 Europe in all its rubble glory and your job is to figure out how to fix up churches, build new buildings and of course clean up place. It has been on a big discount in the past so keep an eye. Similar to Deconstruction Sim, Contractville, etc but set in an historical milieu and more serious graphics.

Many people found this game relaxing, and I'm happy for them. I found it incredibly frustrating. - Why is everything so dull and dark? You do know people back then didn't live in black and white, right? - Clunky commands, very difficult and tedious to get to high places (go to workbench, craft or buy scaffoldings, part 1, 2 and 3. Go to the place where you want it. Place part 1, (try and) climb, place part 2, fall because the scaffolding ladder doesn't work if you're on it, (try and) climb…

I would love to give this game a positive review, because the core concept is certainly neat and indeed timely - after so many war games, it's a nice idea to have one about rebuilding. Alas, WW2 Rebuilder is such a lazy, uninspired take on the idea that it drives me up the wall worse than if they'd not bothered it in the first place. The primary issue here is the gameplay, which is about as deep as a puddle - there's no strategy involved, no real choice to approach problems in different ways,…

Really fun to play while listening to today's news. Such a ♥♥♥♥ reality, and yet we have games like this to remind us of how fascism leads to disaster. This game brings so much awareness to the inheritors of clashed empire, and how ordinary people are left with the mess, unless we work together to stop fascism from once again corrupting our world. After playing through this entire game, there are huge flaws. Like when picking things up. It got tiring to press F over and over again. Yes, I played the entire game, and the DLC. The only good parts were the story telling. The actual game play was very tiring. Still, I held out, thinking the DLC would have new abilities that might make the entire game easier and more enjoyable. But no. Tedium continued. It was not easy for me to leave a negative review, because WWII Rebuilder clearly has a lot of potential. The destruction of materials and the subsequent rebuilding are genuinely enjoyable and very satisfying, even though many details could still be refined. Unfortunately, I encountered a severe bug in the current Kein City DLC. It's a decent game but it's borderline in terms of what it's worth paying for it. On sale? Sure! Full price? Eeeeeh maybe but don't expect a flawless game. My main issue with this game is that it has a great premise but it's let down by buggy & awkward controls & a poorly implemented resource system. WW2 Rebuilder is a reconstruction simulator that sets itself apart by focusing not on destruction, but on recovery. Instead of placing the player in the middle of combat, the game is built around the idea of rebuilding cities and restoring ordinary life after the devastation of war. That perspective gives it a different emotional tone from most World War II titles, turning the experience into something calmer, more reflective, and in some ways more meaningful than a traditional war game. Some good cut scenes and historical facts are placed here and there. I'm about 3/4 through and I haven't hit any bugs that prevent competition. 3/30/2026. Honestly disappointed. They showcase the brick laying and rebuilding aspects, but then you start finding instant build buildings that use up 45 bricks at once, and you wonder why it even makes you lay a single brick when it doesn't care to use it in other instances. I kind of feel cheated. That, and the controls are a bit rough.

This game can really surprise you, if you let it. At first glance, this is a pretty standard cleanup and build simulator. You break stuff, you collect stuff you build stuff. The gameplay is nothing special, it's fun enough, graphics are good enough, mechanics are a little rough around the edges. Yes, it has some tedious mechanics, but this is a game where you clean up stuff and rebuild it, this is expected, to a certain extend. But you won't spend hours and hours in one level, you can do…

Overly tedious, to the point that it feels almost intentional. For example, building a brick wall you need to place each individual brick that makes up the full wall. It's mind numbing. I played through this on PS5 without any issues as far as I remember, but the PC version is incredibly buggy. Climbing ladders on scaffolding you place is near impossible, so it's a choice between spending literally a few minutes trying to climb the thing (you get it eventually, but it'll be a incredibly frustrating few minutes), or just not getting the 100% on levels, which is just silly. There are more bugs, but the ladder is the most frustrating one. This desperately needs a patch.

I was expecting a little more from this. The story is not very captivating and the building is very minimal, it's more like a collect and deposit. For a build I was expecting something that had more minigames and really made you feel like you were rebuilding. Turns out its semi like a point and click adventure. With some pointless side quest. Booooooring. I expected something more interactive and free form. But it was just pick up stuff and plop it in the highlited spot. Also Bomb Defusing made no sense.

A delightful game for history buffs, especially those whose interests extend beyond the glamorous battles and generals to what happens after the armistice is signed and the guns fall silent. The game has an unpolished feeling and a fair amount of physics glitches, but they only mildly detract from the gameplay, if at all.
