World of Subways 4 – New York Line 7
Developer TML-Studios
The series "World of Subways" features some of the most interesting Subway Routes of the world for the PC. Once again World of Subways 4 comes back to New York, perhaps the most exciting city in the world. The whole gaming world takes place in the 70ies/80ies and is created in its typical look. 60 of 176 · most liked firstI have rarely regretted a purchase so thoroughly as I regret my decision to purchase World of Subways 4. I hadn't played any of the previous 3 games in this franchise, but I was drawn in by the appeal of, ostensibly, a realistic subway simulation that highlighted the neighborhoods and infrastructure of New York City along the 7 line. Instead, this game delivers on virtually none of its promises other than the actual simulated act of driving a subway train. The sound in the simulation is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After what may feel like a steep learning curve, driving the trains is actually fairly easy and there's not as much setting up as there was in WoS3. That said, WoS3 is still largely better than this in virtually every way. The depot with NPC characters providing missions and something of a more social edge to the game as you interact with colleagues and your bosses is a nice idea and makes it different from other simulators, but ultimately feels rather pointless once the missions have been…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Revised for clarity, spelling, and grammar. Do you hate variety in rail sims? Have you always dreamed of controlling just one train on a single 20-minute track, over and over and over again? Does the idea of an acceptable frame rate, good graphics, and accurate sound effects make you shudder? Well, buckle up because World of Subways 4 is the game for you. Relish the thrill of laughable mission scenarios and abysmal voice acting. Marvel at a game description that promises the 70s and 80s yet…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This for me is the absolute worst of all the subway/train simulators. Firstly, I am a real life retired NYC Transit motorman, so I am evaluating the game from, perhaps a very different standpoint than most others. The scenery was not very well done. Too many buildings repeat too often. But what the programmers did to the models of the R-33/36 railcars is a disgrace and a total misrepresentation of how that equipment performs. If they had simply re-skinned the PA series railcars from WOS1, they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No support Raildriver, Express Train which I have to stop at every station, the old sounds, raindrops look like fireballs! None of physics, gauge the brakes shakes mercilessly. It is not worth 31,99 €. This is not a simulator. I am very unhappy, I'm angry. Do not buy it!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has both its good and bad points. Personally I feel this is an improvement over WOS3, I can see where they were going with the missions, but if your a simulation fan like me, then avoid them. The whole depot thing is a nice touch, I like the fact you have to 'sign on' with the supervisor, and can take over trains from the AI, take your train to the sidings at the end of your shift. The fact you can do an immediate return trip after terminating by walking to the other end of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely disillusioned with this game. I bought WOS 3 a few months back and fell in love! Amazing simulator, super realistic. When I found out WOS 4 was coming out I HAD to get it. Now that I bought it I extremely regret this purchase. First off, I have a pretty good computer that runs well with almost all of my games (including WOS 3 which worked flawlessly). As soon as I installed WOS 4 it told me that my graphics card was insufficient. When I began playing the game it started lagging like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →aight ill be straight up as a real NYC T/O (motorman) i can tell u the physics like braking power is very very unrealistic and not just for this volume, 1 2 and 3 also had terrible physics the graphics r stunning but thats where realism stops basicaly. The trains brake waay to hard if u hafve ever driven a real R36 Redbird ( the name of the train model u get in this game) u will know that the brakes arnt anywhere close to as powerful as they r in this game. thats my 2 cents
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary While not that horribly bad, this is not the game I expected. It's not as bad as another TML game, the Fernbus Simulator, but still, it's much worse than other train sims out there. It has some improvements over WoS 3, and is much less buggy for me when in outside of the train mode, but I still get occasional crash here and there, which really shouldn't happen after such a long time since the game's release. The worst things are physics and graphics. Overall, I cannot recommend it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes someone has to just get on a soap box...and tell the developers the TRUTH! Maybe because I love simulators, maybe because I'm a 3D developer/artist myself and I know the challenges of building such a fine symphony of digital subsystems all working together to bring your pc to life. So here it goes: Hell ya! YOU GUYS... TML? GREAT JOB! AWESOME! I haven't even fully dug in and I'm already impressed! Great! Love it! Game install via steam: flawless Wish: Keyboard Reference Card…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far so good a few bugs but not to bad a range of 8 missions and different shifts. i like it although the lack of ai traffic red signals during rush hour confuses me. I like being a conductor although it'd be nice just to be that for a route or 2. Other than that going through tunnels at 40mph and braking as you hit the platform to stop and not the miss the station gives you the ultimate pressure AGGRO MODE well thats a excellent addition used it a couple of times and think it could be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing WOS since the 1st installment with the PATH. WOS 4 is a huge improvment from that game, but is a giant step backwards from WOS 2 and 3. WOS 3 is, so far, the pinnacle of the series, probably because they had an actual license from the London Underground. This game however, provides a cheap knockoff of the MTA. It's almost like the developers watched some YouTube videos of the 7 line and built a game around it. They couldn't even settle on a time era. The signs, rolling stock…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bummer. If you like the WoS series, the best is the London Underground.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As you've probably read in the other reviews this game has some problems. It features door chimes even though the units featured have never had door chimes, its set in the 70s and yet features the 7 line diamond and circle logos which did not exist yet, and it has few glitches (passenger walks into an invisible wall while attempting to board the train) . The missions aren't very good, they tried too hard to make a simulator into a game and they are all way too arcadey and the last mission is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I havent met any bugs, and game is working exellent!! Very nice simulation game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game i like how u can walk around talk to people and i like the Depot thing but the Best thing Is the trains They look so realistic i manged to start up my train in 5 minutes Better then nerdcube with world of subways 3.... My ratings: Gameplay: 8/10 Graphics 10/10 Locations and AI 7/10 Lag 0/10 no lag Hardness 1/10 Not very hard Over all i would rate this game a 9/10 Its the greatest game and it costed me only £10! Best game with good money spent :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This piece of trash unoptimized horrible game is not recommended I also regret purchasing the game why? 1. Horrible 1990 graphics 2. Unaccurate sounds 3. Feels nothing like the real New York. 4. You could have a high end GPU and you will get horrible performance 5. Not accurate to the real New York incorrect building placement, too dull 6. No SLI support and this is a new 2015 game 7. Horrible I mean more than horrible - terrible combined physics The developers need to get it together I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a good game but it gets boring when your using the same train and the same route
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this simulator more than the thrid one and it looks nicer than the first one witch realy didnt count as ny since it was the nj path but this has som pertentail to expand with DLC since this simulator depics late 80s early 90s id love to ask if there will be dinferent train options like right now only option we have are the red birds would be ncie to have a 80s graffiti version and possible the staniless steel R62 /R62A as a drivable option for the seven line a good idea for more AI…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The graphics are IN NEED OF UPDATING. The AI people in the depot who share their stories are diverse in missions. Platform people seem to be having trouble entering train. Game playing seems sharp on some curves that even at 19mph it’s too fast. Realistic feeling is good, having to control doors, lights and others from keyboard is a learning curve. Using a gaming laptop without numeric keyboard was a challenge until I just change controls to keys not already in use. No joy stick control…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like all the others, I was expecting a good driving experience on line 7 of NYC, more than 3 WOS London .... but .... I state that I have a powerful PC on which work properly WOS1; 2; 3 Trainz Simulator and TS2015 !!! From videos posted to advertise WOS4 seemed to have spectacular graphics and effects worthy of reality, with new interactive features (dialogues missions etc ..) The reality however is different .... The game during gameplay presents many problems that make it difficult and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way worse than WOS3. Nothing is good about this game. If you got WOS3, thats all you need, do not buy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game for me is a tale of two halves, it has its positives but mostly negatives. Positives: Ability to take over services at designated stations Career mode-esque Ability to continue driving the service once the terminus has been reached Some physics Negatives Water and leaves coming through the train windows.... Sound pack is awful, its the same both inside and out of the train Awful graphics Interface is awful This is so sad, as many of the features Ihave listed as an issue on this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I posted a question to the developers forum, and watched and waited for days for support. None ever came. The forum statistics says it recieves an average of 16 posts a day. I commonly saw TML employees logged into the forum. Yet no one could be bothered to answer my post. For this reason I cannot recommend this product or any other TML product.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no. good thing for a refund button...recycled sounds, physics sucks, feels nothing like a subway...seem like they wasted their time... Back to WoS3 and 1...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but make sure your FPS is good because it can be a little laggy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like simulations and are not overly fussed on the smallest of details then I recommend this, the trains have a very high level of detail, some minor details wrong/missing, the route is pretty accurate, animated characters are not the worst I've ever seen, but the voice acting is, it's pretty much non-existant, I would give the game a 10/10, but because of minor bugs, some glitches and the voice acting, I can only give it 7/10, I give the trains a 10/10, I absolutely love the R33/R36,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So they fixed the main problem that this game was having and have added updates so I am switching my review from negative to positive. They added cab sway which gives it more realism, they added more ai trains during rush hour making the game way more active. The missions are nice and add some challange. The trains should have 3 notches on the accelerator not 4. And the sun glare is mixed up. You get glare heading into the city in the morning and glare going to Flushing in the afternoon/evening…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is optimized for 30 FPS, so you have to lock it via the Nvidia control panel and get used to it, but after like few hours your brain will learn to live with it, or you can play 60+ FPS, but you need NASA PC. Other than that I have encountered just one bug, which was flickering windows in one of the missions, which caused almost epilepsy in me {Even if Im not epileptic}, but you can drive this mission with camera above the subway car, or with camera in the front of the subway car. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i liked that this subway simulator is actually realistic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally, I do enjoy the game. It is a different approach to the World of Subways franchise. I enjoy the driving aspects and would recommend it to those who enjoy train simulators. However, of course. No game is perfect and there are some glaring problems. I do not drive a train in real life. However, I can tell that the braking is a little off. There is no way EVER that a train would be able to brake that fast. It just is unheard of so that really needs improvement. Along with this. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's get this straight. This is an excellent game. I can understand why some don't like it but I personally do. I was a little skeptical before buying it, as I was a little worried about poor FPS that others were experiencing. But it turned out that I didn't have to worry at all, I get great FPS! Every aspect of the game is very authentic. It is most certainly one of the best games in the World of Subways series. It reminds me a bit of the first volume: The Path, as they was also set in New…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This came is amazing on the (7)<7> line and is recommend for gamers that like Metros/trains :D Gameplay: 9/10 Graphics: 7/10 Missions: 10/10 Controls: 9/10 Price cost: 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good details , but for sure, people do not walks a la grand theft auto...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played it with my windows sadly I cant play it with the MacBook
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally like it a lot. Pretty solid little game. You would definitely want to pick it up if you're familiar with the 7 or just the NYC Subway system in general. Not too much in the way of bugs. It's neat being able to act as the conductor while at a station too, or you can just drive and let an AI conductor deal with the doors. Controls take a little getting used to but once you have them down they are fine. Only 8 missions, ranging from cool to lame. But you can also drive an extensive free…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a Great game. Lots off Shifts to drive and that 8 mission :P. Maybe World of Subways 5 could be something like Merseyrail or Rotterdam or even Franfurt.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice litttle game. but it's only 1 line so after a couple runs you're kinda done with it. graphics are nice, but no announcements. get it on a sale and have a couple days of fun with it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game! I rode this line many time in my youth...in fact I rode all the lines in NYC during my youth...I made it a point on the weekends to get on the train and ride each line from beginning to end...I can now enjoy driving the 7 line. I certainly hope that I will get the opportunity to drive all the NYC lines in my lifetime!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →purchased yesterday with high hopes these were soon dashed with the unbelievable amount of lag especially as just bought new PC
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a major disappointment, I really wish I'd waited for the reviews of the game but purchased on release day after following all the hype. Is there any way of requesting a refund seriously? Because this is the worse money I've ever spent on a game. It offers nothing in terms of simulating the experience of driving a train and just offers a dull lifeless experience. The depot element is a complete joke, populated by what appears to be walking dead androids. I could ignore that if the train…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recomend not to buy this game at the moment. I've had start-up issues so you probably want to be safe, not sorry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a new york subway fan this is pretty fun you get immersed in the 70s-80s speeding down the 7 line in queens its so surreal and fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World of Subways 4 – New York Line 7, developed by TML-Studios and published by Aerosoft GmbH, is a subway simulation that sets out to capture the unique rhythm and atmosphere of one of New York City’s most iconic routes. Unlike traditional train simulators that often spread themselves across multiple lines or rolling stock, this title narrows its focus to the historic Line 7, running through 21 faithfully recreated stations. The developers have put effort into reflecting the feel of the older…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →simple game works well
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My name is Earl, and I was a motorman and I drove this train for 7 years,an it reminds me when I worked for NYC transit. It is so real, like I was back on the job,I hope you enjoy this game/simulator as I do.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun, and you can explore too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A big evolution compared to WoS3 !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I believe this is the best World of Subways game, although sadly that doesn't mean much. But the game is surprisingly decent if you keep yourself to doing shifts and avoid the missions. Back in 2015 horror games were trendy in YouTube and TML tried to capitalize on that, but those silly missions sort of gave the game a bad reputation which might have been enough for them to pull the plug on the series. Shame because I think this was a somewhat solid base to continue working over it. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These's Folk's Are Right It's To Hard To Drive The Dumb 7 Train How Do They Inspect Me To Drive This Price Of Trash Like God I Mean The It's Cool In The Trailer But Bro it So trash Ima See If I Can Get My Money Back Some How. But To Be Clear DON'T BY THIS GAME. Waste Of Money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game a lot. The train driving aspect is very realistic, and I used to take the #7 train when I lived in NYC. The people are afterthoughts and not up to the quality of the rest of the game, and the buildings are generic at times, but the track itself is pretty spot on, and that's why I drive it. It's challenging to stop it in the right place every time. Yes, it's one line, but given that this is the closest most of us will come to driving the NYC subway, for $15, it's worth it to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the 7 train line this game is historic of that the mta subway 7 line used to be with the red trains and the old last stop , Times Square - 42 st , the serenery maches to but theres a lag or low fps rate i dont know if this is just my pc or a bug in the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →World of Subways 4, a game obviously not meant for everybody. Probably my bias for New York since I currently reside there, but I absolutely love this game despite all the downsides. There is no campaign from what I can gather, but the game always lets you choose your shift/time/weather and even how many stops you want to takeover, this freedom allows you to take on quick games or longer ones. There are also special missions that you can take on dealing with emergencies and whatnot that are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ waste of time. I used 7 hours JUST TO ATTEMPT running this game, now I can't get a refund for this piece of ♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ TML especially. I want my money back, and I can't get a refund for this. Great ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1385666589 I am glad I got this at half off. Production was too rushed and careless to justify full price. Cons: The game was left with such glaring errors as taking you to an occupied platform at the terminus, and allowing you to platform the train "on top" of an AI train. (photo) The stories setting up each challenge are pretty awful. The voice actors are wooden and instead of focusing on a Brooklyn/Queens accent, you have wierd texan…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I may be pretty young but I am old enough to remember the RedBirds in their last few years of service and because of the location of my school I ride the 7 pretty often. Apart from the various inaccuraccies in this game ranging from the New York accents in the characters (trust me it's bad), physics, era inconsistencies with track layouts, surrounding terrains, and paint schemes of the trains not to mention the lack of other traffic, the controls are confusing to memorize and don't seem to flow…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for a simulator to be good it needs two things outstanding graphics and good physics this game lacks both
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game is laggy do a update please about fixing the bugs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing with all WOS series (not on steam, except WOS4) since 2011. This one is very similar to WOS2->WOS3, with enhanced graphics, and much less boring. It's a fresh and pleasant departure from Train Simulator in terms of drivers experience and simulation realism. The main grief I have is the so-called "life signals"... They are much too often green. Experienced users should have an option to define themselves the degree of "congestion" on the subway, and also the chance of…
