unlabelledView post →The Steam Deck is probably the coolest device I've ever owned. Portable gaming PC consoles are so sick, and it runs Linux which is also sick 🙂 Downloaded Windblown yesterday and I've been playing it for a few hours, the game is sick. Looking for additional recommendations
unlabelledView post →Got about 40 hours in and have almost all unlocks at this point. Overall, I think the game is very strong, with good fundamental mechanics, roguelike replayability, high skill ceiling. It has some of the same flaws as Dead Cells -- namely, that the overwhelming meta is just damage output rather than defensive or technical play. Dead enemies don't fight back. That said, the game still has a lot of change to go through in early access to get to a better balancing point. I enjoy my…

unlabelledView post →The most recent update has killed any and all enjoyment of this game for me, its no longer a fun fast paced action roguelike, the pacing is just terrible now with the change they've made to their core combat mechanic - i hope it gets reverted because the game is just bland and boring now. They had combat perfect and made it terrible for some reason. Edit : I've been trying to stick with it a little longer as the dev responded, and I just do not see what they were going for honestly. I'm…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developer will not respond to any inquiries regarding their intent to fix the annoying issue where you cannot sync quest progress. Only 1 player gets to progress their quest each run, even Diablo 2 battlenet in 2002 could sync quests. So, if you're playing this with your friend and progressing together, get ready to do everything twice. Will gladly change my review once this extremely commonplace feature since the 2000s is implemented in a game in 2026.

unlabelledView post →I tried to like this game. I made my friends buy it and played co-op. The action feels nice, the combo variations are imaginative with few button presses. But it lacks variation so painfully. You only unlock a few new weapons and like 2-3 playstyles that you're forced to reuse on the following runs -- in similar locations using similar layouts. And I don't think it's an EA thing either -- Dead Cells suffered from it too (and I think it was only forgiven because it pioneered the genre -- runs…

unlabelledView post →This needs a LOT more time to cook ⠀ After having a blast with Dead Cells, I came here thinking I was in for a treat, but I was left feeling a little disappointed. It's a beautiful game, but there are too many things here that feel unpolished and lacking imagination. I realise this is early access, but it's coming up on 2 years, and I would expect there to have been a lot more progress by this point. The story was uninteresting, but that's fine, as I don't play these types of games for that.…

unlabelledView post →To start, up until the Break the Path update this game has been one of my fav roguelikes. But the new update is just bad in every way. One of the best feelings before the update was after clearing a room you would just hold space and move at the speed of light to the next room to kill some dudes. But with the new update traversing the map is just more confusing and gets in the way of enjoying the game. When you would get lost or confused as to where the next connector was to progress to the…

unlabelledView post →Quite fun but progression is messed up and gets very grindy very fast. Approx Example: - One 20 min. run gives you 200 Cogs. - To unlock some very important upgrades you need at least 6000 Cogs - It is 10 hours and if you are just starting before you get the hang of it, it's more like 15h - Game becomes repetitive at around 8h There is more but imho that should suffice as a warning.

unlabelledView post →Been playing for a little bit but when coming to write this review I asked myself: "Am I having fun?" And the answer is: sometimes maybe. I am dying pretty frequently though I am making slower steady progress, but when it comes down to each run I find myself feeling like I am playing the same run over and over again. I have unlocked new stuff but none of it is really that flavourful or exciting. I feel like roguelikes work best when you feel like you have 10 different combos bouncing off each…

unlabelledView post →The game is fun, until you spent dozens of hours (or maybe less) and noticed the game slowly become bland, realizing no amount of balancing could fix it. The biggest selling point of Windblown for me is the Alter-Attack. Simply put, it is a combo finisher unique to weapons you equipped. Almost all of weapon alter-attack provide long i-frames and sometimes flinch or even stun the enemies. As you progress through the game, unlocking meta-progression, increasing difficulty and making a couple or…

unlabelledView post →I feel like the map update has severly impacted the games pacing. What previously was fast and fun, turned into looking at the map every 5 seconds, to figure out where one hasn't explored yet. It killed the flow feeling of the game.

unlabelledView post →If you're into fast-paced games and roguelites, then this will be very addictive. The game will punish you *a lot* until you get the hang of it, but once you do, the combos you can pull off are *very* satisfying.

I kinda intended to just do a draft then do an action pose, but oops. so they've got no weapon. Imagine the Sharp Sisters.

unlabelledView post →the game plays VERY WELL VERY good music VERY nice secrets, easter eggs, and pun intendeds 23/03/2026 edit: i can see many comments about it being a "cash grab" in this case let me say to the dev team shut up and take my money
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The action is pretty good and the story, music, and visuals are all fine. But there are a few things in this game that I think just don't belong in a roguelite that make it a less than enjoyable experience. If they get changed or removed in a later Early Access update, this could be a great game, but it's been out for a year now and these systems seem pretty cemented at this point. A big part of the problem is that every stage has a boss, which is fine/great, but a lot of gameplay elements…

unlabelledView post →I had really high hopes for this game, especially since it’s from the same creators as Dead Cells. But for me, it’s a big no. I feel like the entire game boils down to killing two enemies, then spending 30 seconds traveling to the next pack. I kept playing, thinking it would eventually be fun, but it was completely underwhelming and bland to me. It feels more like a chore than a game. At this point, grinding in an MMO is more enjoyable, because at least you go into it expecting it to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got potential, but it's just not there yet. Currently the combat doesn't feel particularly fun. Most of the time you'll just be mashing LMB, then RMB when the funny gauge fills up. Most weapons have a single move you can use in your comboes (not counting the alterattack, because of its scarcity in gameplay). Heavy weapons aren't really fun, cause you can only use their alterattacks - enemies are too fast for you to perform a full combo with a heavy weapon while stationary, and dashing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Might be a only me problem but I cannot play the game without feeling physically sick, having vertigo and seeing flashes of colours with blurry vision after short session ~30 mins and there is no setting in game that changed anything to help with that, so for that reason only I cannot recommend it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why why on earth would you make a multiplayer game to make it so you have to unlock multiplayer. I specifically play video games to play with my husband I don't get a lot of time to play and it's something we like to do together. This game was specifically something we were interested in to play together. Yet here we are unable to do that. It's incredibly frustrating and a seemingly meaningless nusiance. This doesn't add to game play in any way. This game looks really fun. It in fact looks like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really tried to get into it multiple times over the years, but it's just not for me. Just the map navigation alone gives me a headache, like you are zooming way too fast, even the camera struggles to catch up. And it's one of those games where it's the spammy dodge dodge dodge, mash attack dodge dodge, then icon thingies pop up and you mash all the buttons on your controller. I don't know man, I'm getting too old, the passage of time comes for us all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been looking at Windblown for quite some time and just got the chance to try the demo. I think I'm going to love this game!
unlabelledView post →In it's current state, this game is otherwise good but crippled by two overarching problems. THE GOOD 1. The alterattacks mechanic is really fun to use. Essentially, you have different stronger attacks with a weapon when you deal hits with your other weapon. 2. The soundtrack is great. Not a surprise with Evil Empire, but it continues to be fantastic. 3. The core gameplay feels great and is incredibly fluid. THE BAD 1. The damage values are absolutely unforgivable. On the base…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This is VERY noticeably a game made by the team behind dead cells. If you've played dead cells, a LOT of the weapons and skills will seem really, really familiar. On the other hand, there's only so many DOT-types that you can chose, same for weapons etc. AND: They've managed to make it feel very different and add enough new things that yes, I thought "Oh, this is definitely Dead Cells in new clothes" at the beginning, but the further I got, the more it has become a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead Cells was the last chance for French studio Motion Twin. They put all their hopes in one game and were rewarded with more than ten million players, a huge success. Now, the indie worker cooperative game studio continues its journey with Windblown. www.gamesmarkt.de/en/previews/...
unlabelledView post →The games combat feels good, but why would you update the map to be non-linear? Totally ruined the pace and creates a ton of doubling back. It really ruins the feel of the game. They added a teleport system to traverse the map, but why though? You already have the fast pace dash mechanic which feels great. Let us bust through the maps at a breakneck pace. What was the point in making the maps more open? You still have to traverse the rooms and kill the enemies, all this did was throw the pace…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I HIGHLY recommend you play this. If you like Skylanders-type visuals with Hades-style gameplay made by the Dead Cells folks, you're gonna have a field day with this thing. I've seen the game evolve for a while, and it's shaping up to be a banger (no pun intended).

unlabelledView post →I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to dodge during attacks now, it helps, but they still have the sound affect for when enemy's attack not mean anything with timing, you know the whole point in the thing, to tell you when an attack is about to happen, But the biggest problem is that even if you learn by heart all the attacks, the game is a visual mess during combat. It is very hard to see what attack an enemy is doing in the middle of things which is usually several enemy's. You cannot…
