Don't Die in the West Wild Indigo Ranch, was a promising and endearing early access title which I loved. The vast majority of positive reviews come from the initial release; the game was playable and fun with a reasonable amount of jank as expected of an early access game. Then in July of last year they re-branded, a foreshadow of things to come. Two months later, they launched the 1.0 release with a large overhaul and additional content. It had clearly not been tested prior to release and…

Was looking for a multiplayer game to play with my boyfriend thats kinda survival but not gory survival cos I like the more cosy games and this one is literally that. Boyfriend goes off killing things and does quests while I can make our base super cute. For an early access game it's pretty good with plenty of things to do and stuff to explore, I'm super excited to play it when the finished game comes out.

Why am I down-voting a game I have over 30 hours in? Because I have ADHD. And I'm forgetful. You see, every few months or so, I forget about my experience with this game and decide to give it another chance. I get around 4 hours in and suddenly start remembering why this games irritates me so much. I remember that my aim is awful, and there's no "easy" setting for combat. So players like me, who want to focus more on the story progression and the building, are going to be fully soft-locked…

They just released that they will be increasing the price to around $20 which is a laugh to me because this game feels so uncomplete. The conversations are redundant and dont update if you already have done certain things for an npc. The camera has no rotation or opacity for you moving behind things. The quests are sometimes non-descriptive and have no map markers. The graphics have no settings except resolution and v-sync. There seems to be not much more to do after about 2-3 hours of play…

I hate how frustratingly buggy this game is, and how poorly designed everything is, because this is a fun game when it's not making my blood vessels pop that I've been waiting for to come out of early access. -Why do I clip through a bridge in the Rocky Falls area and plummet to my death? -Why do bosses clip through the floor when I shoot them? At the very least bottomless pits aren't instant kill for the player, which is a solace for whenever I clip through the floor. -Why can't these…

It is a funny game. The old name "Dont die in the west" suited it much better. After the woke renaming, I am going to delete it. Funday Games is lucky, that I bought it prior to the name change. I wouldn't be interstested in a "indigo ranch" game, it is generative uninteresting name

I wanted to like this game, a builder game in the wild west, something a bit different and fun. In reality, it turned out this game should have been called Quest Completer, as you can do very little without first raising your reputation with various NPC's scattered around the map. And every NPC has a series of tedious quests for you to complete. The building and development part feels very secondary to just completing quest after quest. In addition, the user interface feels clunky (I know,…

I found many of the reviews here difficult to understand, so I’d like to clarify a few things for anyone considering buying this game. I personally enjoyed playing it; it's fun, and the graphics, as well as the overall setting, are great. It’s a cozy game where you build a farm and help some of the citizens. Yes, there are some bugs, especially when trying to complete missions, but most have already been patched, or I solved them by simply relogging into the game. You can also choose to come…

I've tried playing this game several times and there is always bugs that prevent me from completing quests, which is extremely frustrating. I do think this game has the guts to be good, but calling this a 1.0+ build of the game should just not be true. Please fix game breaking bugs so I can enjoy this game. I will uninstall for the 3rd time now and try again in a few months.

This game has so much potential, but the bugs make it impossible to play. I'd read reviews saying there were bugs but had no idea how painful they'd be. And do NOT believe that this game has controller support. It does work to some extent, but nowhere near playable level. An example: lassoing a chicken. That part was easy. But HOW do you collect the chicken after?

Progression is basically do a quest, quest wants you to build a wall, build the wall, reward is a roof, now use that roof to complete the next quest, get a wood roof, now use that roof to do another quest, rinse and repeat. extremely boring quests and progression. Wait for updates. Game needs time to cook.

I will recommend this game- but with a caveat- if you are someone that DEMANDS game to have absolutely 0 bugs without blowing up into oblivion-- then please just play a different game and save this lovely developer the bad review. IF you however- want a cute game that can be cozy-esque while also having a bit of fun, adventure, and exploration- WITH CRAFTING!!! then get this silly yet wonderous adventure of a game! I am a cozy game player by trade- but I do dabble in the dark arts sometimes…

It's not a bad game. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it. I'm saying you shouldn't buy it yet. The controller support is terrible with aiming, which is most of combat. The quest lines aren't complete. The skill trees aren't complete. You will occasionally get stuck. The building is finicky. Some of the progression is unclear. There is no way to get rid of items besides dropping them in the world, which will become a problem eventually. It is really cute, fun, and definitely has charm. I would…

I just want to say, I absolutely ADORE this game. However I cannot recommend knowing that there are so many bugs that break the game. I am currently stuck on a quest and cannot get the game to recognize that I have the required amount of animals I need. I have also encountered serious issues with the building quests where it will not accept what you've built until you completely dismantle the building and rebuild. Wild Indigo Ranch is a cozy crafting RPG with a lot of charm. A little bit silly, a little bit dangerous and a lot of bit fun. Funday Games, the development team behind Wild Indigo Ranch, has been heavily involved with the active community on Discord and should feel proud of the work they've put into creating a living, breathing Western adventure for us all to enjoy.

from the games advertisement it looked like I would be running around shooting bandits, meeting npc's and building MY ranch. ( farming, animal husbandry etc. ) instead what the game really is is BS grindy quests full of busy work, forcing you to build all of the NPC's homes, shops and ranches. this would not be so bad except for the chaotic nature of the quests means you will be bouncing back and forth from one NPC to the other doing bits and pieces of WORK and never completing one quest…

I really want to like it, but there is no way that this was 1.0 ready. Many, MANY bugs, including game-breaking ones that halt progression entirely. The combat is also needlessly difficult, game systems have little to no explanation... Overall it needed a lot more work before I would say it was actually ready for release. I don't feel ripped off for $10 but I wouldn't buy it full-price.

Wild Indigo Ranch is an interesting idea that is executed very poorly. It feels shallow and barely half finished. The player is suppose to be rebuilding their ranch as well as the neighboring areas; these are limited towns and a few properties around the map. The NPCs have certain expectations about what they consider as 'rebuilt'. This is fine but, sometimes they don't always tell you all the requirements. The game is also very glitchy. It is not uncommon to see NPCs fall through the floor…

At this moment I can't honestly recommend the game in its current state. The game is so much fun in mp BUT... it's riddled with bugs, the devs keep releasing hotfixes for it but it seems that they fix one thing and another gets broken making the quest progression unbearable and taking all the fun out of the game. They should have polished the game up a bit before releasing it like this. We have decided to stop playing it till it's in a better state and it's such a shame because this game has so…

I can't recommend it, even on sale, there are better games for the money. The game crashes out of nowhere and the controls can result in what should've been an easily avoidable RIP, especially when you get stuck on something you shouldn't have. At least you can get your stuff back easy enough. I'll still noodle around on it for a bit. It's a shame it's not better, I like the concept of avenging who you inherited land from.

I love the cartoony feel of the game. From navigating the menus, creating your character and playing throughout the game, it just has these good feels all around. Especially since the 1.0 changes the game flows quite nicely from one task to the next and there's always a nice sense of danger to the world. Helps sell that wild west feeling a little more. This game has potential, but it needs more work to make it fun. For example, I just spent 30m trying to get 5 chickens into my coop but: 1. It's never explained WHY I want chickens. 2. Half the time the chickens don't go into the coop, they just run away 3. Using the lasso to capture chickens is frustrating as all hell, since the rope constantly breaks or needs to be replaced, so you're fiddling with the UI as the chicken runs back the way you came from. I've been really enjoying the game so far. When I started it, I expected it to be very similar to other farming games (Stardew, Sun Haven, etc.), but placed in a new setting. However, it has a much higher focus on questing, exploring, and base building (not necessarily your base). The farming aspects are more of a "yeah... you can do this as well..." kinda thing. A lot of it feels very tedious. Planting, watering, and harvesting takes an annoyingly long time, which made me contemplate just…

So I've finished the game. And while I certainly liked some parts of it, I really can't recommend it at this point. Let's start with the good : - The art is nice. It's a bit of an odd choice to create characters that don't have legs and mostly hop around, but the game sticks to that choice, and with the top-down view it doesn't end up as some kind of uncanny valley. There is a lot of charm to it, and it's not generic at least. - There is a lot of customisation, you can build a bunch of…

Full release is out, but some very basic issues that can completely destroy your game without any listed ability to go back to previous saves or something that can get you out of completely restarting. Other basic QOL items are missing in the full release, such as the inability to delete/trash items, leaving you to either filling up misc boxes, or dropping them in the wild, which just clutters up the place. I have been playing and enjoying all the new stuff they have added over the year. The dev team is super supportive and actually listen to feedback in the discord. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for some fun ranching and fixing up an old town corrupted by bandits... more to it but don't want to spoil.

Cool soundtrack, lots of unlocks, just went into the forest and hope to spend much more time in the game. Cant believe the current player count is so low. There are still constant updates to fix glitches, those updates seem to cause more bugs so its a continuing issue of finding new bugs where there were none before as the Devs fix one and screw up two. So many bugs, in the AI in the inventory in the damage in the construction in the saves (broke this camels back). just SOoo many lil bugs lost a ♥♥♥♥ ton of inventory due to how it loaded after multiple deaths.
