55 of 55 · most liked firstWhisker Waters is a cute RPG centred around cats and fishing. Despite its overwhelmingly cute and wholesome appearance, the game itself feels very unfinished and lacks some core features that it so desperately needs. The game is filled with many things to do, but it is hard to focus on these as the awful, choppy performance and terrible camera angles started making me feel nauseous so I had to stop. I hope to return to the game if some of the issues mentioned are patched in future updates as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was REALLY looking forward to playing this game and I'm so sorry to say I'm disappointed in it. It just feels like an indie game in early development. Here are some things that bothered me while playing for the first 2 hours: -the camera control is awful. It's so hard to rotate while I'm just standing in one place but so uncontrolably quick when I walk -this game's main focus is fishing, and the fishing itself is just.. annoying. Nothing wholesome or cute about it. Too hard to catch a fish…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was almost turned off by all the negative reviews on day one, but glad I gave it shot. Given that fishing is such a huge part of this game I was glad to see some variety within the mini-game. And I haven't had any issue catching any of the fish I've needed. The tutorials tell you everything you need to know about engaging with the mechanics. This has so far been a very chill and cozy game. The aesthetics are very charming and the music very low-key. I've been using a controller to play and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DON"T BUY THIS GAME IT HAS BEEN ABANDONED!!!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm sorry, I really wanted to love this game but it just wasn't fun. I spent most of my play time running around in frustration trying to find the fruit you need for the first quest. Getting stuck on the first quest doesn't give a good impression. There needs to be more fruit spawns because I could only find them in one spot (even though you will find a few fruit trees but can't get the fruit off of them at all) so had to run around looking for more just in case till they respawned in the first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I went into this game with pretty low expectations given the current reviews, but honestly, I like it. No, it's not revolutionary, yes it's a bit rough, but I'm enjoying it and want to play more. The visuals are cute and I love cats, but I wasn't going to give it a pass just for that. It had to be a game I could actually see myself playing more of. I knew the fishing would either make or break this title since it’s such a large part of the gameplay loop, and I personally like it. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love cats, and I tend to love fishing games in life sims. I thought I would love this, of course. But the camera whips around and drifts, making me nauseous. The fishing minigames were not intuitive for me, and they didn't seem to be explained well. I really want to like this game, and with a thick coat of polish I might love it. But right now I am on the verve of refunding it. I hope the devs say they are working on fixing these issues. I am willing to wait for this to happen…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont get me wrong I do really like this game. The minigames are a lot of fun once you get used to them. The graphics are cute and I just love the premise of the game. It does have a lot of bugs. Most of which I can let slide without it ruining the game. What stops me from recommending the game is the camera and the combat. The camera is either getting caught on something or blocked by the environment. When using the spear or bomb tool the camera is locked at an awkward angle. when you go to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love cats, I love fishing games, this seems like a game made for me. 29 minutes later and I am on the floor begging for a refund. What even is this?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played this game for 2.5 hrs had no issues or bugs and the only thing I noticed was the camera which I can understand it making people feel ill while playing the game. I went into the settings and fixed the camera issue and don't feel sick it's a simple fix sadly this game is getting bad reviews due to that I am here to give it a good review I am hoping that the developers can fix the game and make it better loving it so far and enjoying the fishing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As the game is now i cannot in good faith recommend the game. It is far too unpolished. The world is pretty empty and the camera is far too shaky (i had to stop playing the game due to nausea) This game needs way more time to cook
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I was a little deterred with the negative reviews and hesitant to buy the game because of them However, I decided to purchase and give it a good try within the two hour Steam Refund option I played this on PC with Mouse and Keyboard. First and foremost this is a Fishing RPG. Fishing is simple, and I do enjoy the added mini-games. These games are simple and easy to understand. The graphics are a bit chunky and you do notice that they are not blended well at the seams. However I see…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs poorly on Steam Deck with noticeable frame drops (like single digit fps) in beginning area. I didn't have issues with reading the text though, and the graphics were very cute. I adjusted the camera speed down before playing, so it didn't make me sick or anything, but I agree it needs a little work. Gameplay feels okay. Controls felt a little tank-y and unresponsive, but overall it was decent. The tutorial was very thorough and does a great job introducing you to the mechanics. The fishing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly at this moment the game seems to be bugged on (ultra)wide screens. For me, the settings menu did reset very early on in the game out of nothing as far as I could tell, but it also switched from windowed to full screen. Now the top and bottom of the screen are shaved off and the option for windowed ... is at that top that is shaved off, and the save settings button in the settings menu is at the bottom that is also shaved off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really WANT to love this. Graphic style and the cats are great but its just really flawed. The camera is far too sensitive to move with my mouse and so its difficult to navigate. Also, wow the fishing is complicated. At first the actual fishing is easy. Reel out, wait for a fish to bite and then reel back similar to games like Yonder. However, then it adds in these random mini games that are so difficult or complicated in order to catch the fish. I got bored after failing 5 times. I really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really looking forward to this game, so far it's ok. It needs some optimising, it's a bit jittery when walking and a few small bugs nothing game breaking yet. It does feel cozy and calming, and I love the art style. I'm going to say yes to recommending however I'm 50/50 at the moment - changed my mind, it's a thumbs down for me sadly, going to request a refund...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super disappointed with this one. I was super excited for this game, love cats, love fishing, love the cozy vibe, but the game is just... kinda not great? The fishing simultaneously feels too easy and too hard, I have never failed to catch a fish that bit the hook, but getting a bite in the first place feels weirdly difficult. I was not expecting combat in this game, I especially was not expecting melee combat where enemies kill you in one hit. I typically don't hit a game for graphics, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, I really liked this game and had a lot of fun with it. I did a full play through with all side quests and caught all fish in the game. Yet I can't really recommend it. Pros: Really cute graphics overall Character creation is good+ you can change the look of your cat in game Fishing is entertaining with little mini games, different fishing mechanics and plenty of different lures Questline was simple but entertaining Cons: really wonky camera floating objects bugged items (little…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who loves cats and fishing in games I really wanted to love this and decided to try it out for myself despite all the negative reviews, but the game was just more stressful and annoying than it was fun/relaxing for me. I loved the customization of the cats and the graphics are beautiful. I liked running around getting the bugs and even enjoyed the fishing mini games as it was something different, however the fishing itself was more annoying than it was relaxing to me. It felt way too…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is less of a review, and more of a PSA that key rebinding is currently broken. The game does use the same key(s) for multiple functions, e.g. A for "walk left", "cast line to the left", and "lean left when fighting the fish", which makes sense. However, when you try to use different keys (e.g. LEFT ARROW), you cannot assign that key to all 3 functions. Every time you assign the key to one function, the game deletes all previous assignments of that key, This is of course only relevant for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded. I'm on the hunt for a game I don't feel guilty playing on public transportation during my work commute. This looked perfect. Unfortunately, it's buggy and seems like it wasn't really playtested at all. I don't need my hand held, for the most part, but when the Elder says, "If you get stuck, ask around." and there's literally no one who will comment on the fish I'm supposed to looking for, there are problems with the development. Further, the Elder asks me for me fruit, which I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm leaving a positive review to support devs. This game does not deserve "mostly negative" review status. Yes, there are a few problems, but if you want to play cute little game about cats and fishing - you're in the right place.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are really weird and fishing is not as fun as it should be, but I love the rest. The cats are so sweet and you can create your own char. I also like the quests and island/village. It doesn't feel empty in my opinion. There are bugs and it needs work, but it still is a good game. BUT I wouldn't buy it for 20€ right now. Wait for updates or buy it on sale :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm leaving a pawsitive review because I think the game is kinda neat (And somebody has to at this point). Sure, it isn't purrfect but it's still pretty chill. I think with a few updates the game can be seen in a better light. I get the negative points of the game other are making. But over all you are a cat and you can fish. That's pretty cool. This will feed me until I can get a new River King game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm giving this game a mixed review, but marking negative for the moment, and hopefully some fixes can make the game issues better. PSA: I am playing on the Steam Deck and most of the keys are great with the default keyboard, although I can't figure out how to switch tabs without tapping the screen. This game is cute, the customization of your cat are good, but not over the top great. You start off with a little fishing tutorial, which helped learn the controls. I actually thought the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The reviews definitely had me a bit worried as I was p excited about this one! The idea of being a little fisherman cat was a lovely idea, and I still think so now. It does have some jank, and playing with the mouse and keyboard is definitely not all that optimal for me as it lacks feeling like I'm doing much of anything. With the controller though? MUCH better! The camera feels less janky and the controls are very intuitive when it's in your hands. The animations are pretty rudimentary as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is definitely rough around the edges, and could benefit from much needed optimisation. However, the concept is great and the fishing is really fun. In regard to the gameplay I think the game could do with a revision of it's questing system, including improved quest tracking and NPCs having a quest icon above their head. In addition, some sort of fast travel system would be welcomed as there is a lot of backwards and forwards.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was super excited for this game. Cats, cozy, fishing. But the game just isn't what it was hyped up to be. The controls are wonky and it feels like an incomplete game. Waiting for the 48 hours mark to get a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has been abandoned. As it is, it's okay, but it seriously needed polish. There are bugs, the camera movements are janky, the open world feels empty. The character customisation is a bit buggy too -- it would not let me change the colour of my cat's eyes, reverting the change no matter what I did. The whole thing reminds me of those cheap Nintendo DS games young me used to fall for (Like Catz and the Sims 2 spin-offs) which give off an illusion of having more content than they actually do.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It doesn't state how to get apples or any fruit, there's no tutorial and I have just been running around wasting time in it. It's not engaging and I haven't found any guides online on how to progress. It has potential, but it needs more work and polish to earn my money. It should be listed as a game in alpha or beta because this is definitely not a fully polished game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is cute but there is no way to tell where a quest giver is, and no way to find out where to turn anything in after the quest is completed. This needs to be fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cute game ,but so annoying to play. reeling your fish in is annoying by itself, as the cam jumps behind you, making the reeling UI at the fish smaller and smaller as the fish moves away, making working with it very very hard. if you want a game that looks cute, but will make you mad, this game do the job.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very fun and the style is fantastically inventive. I love the story and the gameplay. The ca,era is a little wonky but I have faith that it'll be worked on and easier to use soon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly thought this game was well done, it could use some polish but I'm having a very good time with it despite the negative reviews
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like cats and adorable chill games this is for you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of this review, I've played a little less than an hours worth as that's what I had time for, also it's only first day... I wish there was a neutral recommendation, because I personally found it fun, and the right amount of challenge for the mini-games. so my review is a "Yes, but..." The camera is clunky for sure, but not something a camera sensitivity setting wouldn't fix in a patch. When catching "bait" it's reminiscent of Animal Crossing, where you'd catch things in a net or pounce onto…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Sh!t goes hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish there was a maybe for this game honestly. The fishing is very weird and tbh confusing as hell at certain points. The camera is the killer for this game and why it's getting a no. I can't do it the camera swings around wildly randomly and when you get close to a mountain it glitches pretty bad and zooms in so close you can't see what you're doing. The story is cute the fishing is nice except for how weird and confusing it gets to be. Hopefully the camera gets fixed so I can return to this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game and there are a ton of good elements to it like customizing your cat character, the graphics are adorable and the towns are cute. BUT there's also a ton of stuff that need fixing. I LOVE cats and I LOVE fishing games so cats + fishing = good time. Unfortunately I found the fishing to be tedious rather than fun. The fishing in itself is a minigame but then they added a ton of minigames inside the minigame which was just frustrating in my opinion. On top of this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went shopping due to my birthday last Monday. Bought a Switch game called Whisker Waters. It's about cats fishing. It sound friggin' adorable to play, and I do love me a fishing game when the concept is interesting.
unlabelledView post →I liked it. The game is very cute, although is simple. The fishing mini games are fun, the quests are also nice. I just wish that the fps didn't drop so much like it does. The game still need some optimization, but for sure is a good cozy game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a cute cat game, where you run around and fish. its pretty much what i was expecting when i saw trailer for it. most of the bad reviews are from people who barely played 20 minutes and didn't finish the tutorial. the game could use some big quality of life changes for sure, the camera is rough and some minor "buggy" issues with combat and animations. not a bad game like the review bombs are making it out to be. if you want a silly cat game sure get it and you can refund it if you dont like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this game...it has wonderful potential BUT the spinning camera and the lack of camera distance is just horrible. This is just what I found in the little while I played it. Needs work...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was excited about this game due to it being a fishing game, and the cat is adorable. Seeing the negative reviews made me determined to try it because a LOT of people tend to be negative about anything fishing when it comes to cozy games, and it's always my favorite part. I do agree with a lot of things being stated in reviews, but these things I see as it being a review of "it's a good game, BUT..." The camera angles I very much understand where people are coming from. When going to snag a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is a ton of fun it is a very large contrast from the games I primarily play but i would highly recommend picking this game up if your looking for a chill fishing game with cats.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whisker Waters is a cozy fishing game 😊. You play as a cat exploring a mystical archipelago, fishing and uncovering secrets. The game's got a relaxing vibe, with beautiful visuals and a focus on exploration. Pros: Stunning Visuals: The game's art style is gorgeous, with cute animations Relaxing Gameplay: Fishing and exploring's super chill, perfect for unwinding _Cozy Atmosphere**: The game's got a great vibe, with a focus on discovery Cons: _Pretty Basic**: The game's mechanics are simple,…

I will say that the fishing controls arent a challenge for me but I do think the frequency of minigames per fish is way too high, I shouldnt be doing them more than once per fish. At this point, the camera issues are legitimately unplayable. I know some people are more sensitive to camera shake and jitter but this was too much even for me. My playtime reflects how long I could play before becoming too nauseous to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**IM EDITING MY REVIEW** So after playing it for a couple more hours I've decided to change my review to a thumbs up, but i'm still in between. I played the game for about 2 more hours since my initial review, and while nothing has changed with the game my enjoyability of the game went up a little after going in again without incredibly high expectations like I did the first time. I think my initial review was more of the downvote leaning side because I had been looking forward to this and got…
