unlabelledView post →I finished Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. My wife saw the trailer for the movie of this book and we’ll watch anything with Christoph Waltz. So she read the book. As soon as she finished she told me I had exactly 1 week to read it before we watch the movie. Both are great! 📚👀 #booksky

unlabelledView post →I didn't know what to expect with Water for Elephants, but it was a really good book! I hear the movie is meh, but I'll watch it anyway. Next: Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner, which I know nothing about either. Sorta been sticking to 300-ish page books. So here we go... #BookSky

It was an excellent film about a Depression-era circus with fine acting from Robert Pattinson, Renee Witherspoon and Christopher Waltz. Definitely recommends for your next movie night. 3-8-26.

unlabelledView post →Currently Reading: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I somehow missed this when the movie came out - probably because I was in the circus myself at the time 😅 Equal parts fun and free and hauntingly sad. 5/5, a story about life from a different angle. #booksky

She was so nervous around Robert Pattinson that we tricked her. She was actually flirting with Rob off camera and we put that part in the movie.” DVD Commentary 2011
unlabelledView post →I wasn't aware of a musical movie of Water for Elephants? Maybe I missed it... And yeah as a Barnum pic it's TERRIBLE JESUS CHRIST but I genuinely forgot it was that until just now, so that lets you know how much that sits with me.
unlabelledView post →Faves: 1. The Batman 2. 1st Twilight (I know that's controversial but I love it) 😘 3. Tenet Least fave: It's the one movie I just can't watch - Water for Elephants. Rob is great and looks unreal but I can't watch what is done to Rosie the elephant. Just hurts my soul.

unlabelledView post →If circus stories are your thing, Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants offers a more realistic take albeit drifting into romantic literature. Today Browning’s your man for films though. Everyone knows his film Freaks, but the Unknown starring Lon Chaney and Joan Collins is wonderful.

unlabelledView post →It was a while ago back in 2024, I wrote a rundown of circus musicals (the Hugh Jackman one included) when WATER FOR ELEPHANTS was on Broadway. My research brought me to LA STRADA, which motivated me to watch the Fellini movie!
unlabelledView post →It's actually called: Water for Elephants! I love that film. Another movie that I watched, or, partially watched is: We Bought A Zoo. I want to watch that film entirely once again. I remember loving it tho. What bits that I got to watch. I also love the film: My Week With Marilyn. 💋 I ♥️ M.Monroe.

unlabelledView post →The chemistry between Witherspoon and Pattinson doesn't really work but the simple "man meets a woman" story works and Waltz nails his character as usual. This movie was a nice surprise.
