Though when the appeared on Steam, I shat myself with excitement, this game is great and brings back great memories for me. 9/10 - Great game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: + building & unit tech trees + unit formations make a difference + battleground choice matters + really fun multiplayer + fixed many bugs from Warrior Kings CONS: - clunky & outdated graphics - some AI bugs - no story in the campaign, just skirmish battles - maps start (mostly) with just manors built - hard to set up a mulitplayer game Comment: Clunky graphics, AI path glitches and a bland campaign. But it is still fun to play. While I personally like the original Warrior Kings much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This for me was a must buy. I remember this game from many moons ago, and absolutely loved it. Though perhaps outdated compared to many modern RTS games, for me the nostalgia element is what wins this game over. There are flaws to it, but you find that with many old games. You have to enjoy it for what it is. 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great RTS, I got it for $2.50, and would pay the $10 if I had too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best strategy game ever i played since i was kid 10/10 , it has so much cool functions and units to use from as well the strategies and it's never boring, there is a community of this game if you wanna find people to play with in multiplayer and mods, or how to fix some problems. This game has an awesome tech tree system as everyone start the same then as the game progress each one can choose his path (alignement) by constructing some buildings which lead to the path you desire and you can mix…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 Although this game is one of my childhood specials, i can say even now that it packs quite a lot of action, as well as some unfinished parts. If you like RTS games like Age of Empires, definetely check this game out. Beware, however, the multiplayer option is pretty much dead and the campaign gets sorta repetitive after the first 2-3 areas. The idea of having different factions depending on the way that their civilization improves rather than their nationality sounds really good on paper,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game doesn’t quite match the original, it’s still worth playing. It introduces strong new battle units that are genuinely useful to the player. There’s no real story it's all about conquering a fictional Europe and Asia but for its age, it holds up well. It may no longer stand as a leader in the strategy genre, yet it remains a must play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As I played the first Warrior King game when I was a child, I can just love this game ! In my opinion Warior Kings : Battles offer more units, a better AI, a lot of levels and moreover a multiplayer system. The game allow an insane building, management or fighting system, in fact, it has everything a good RTS should have. Even if it is an old game, you should try this if you can get it for a cheap price. The gameplay is not repetitive that much considering that you can build everything you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bloody great Old school RTS .. I reccomend this game to everyone who loves RTS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Happily Nonbiased Review. Graphics: By 2003 standards, this quite is kind of low compared to Rise of Nations which also released the same year. The ground looks very bland so does the units. (4/10). Sounds: The music sometimes doesn't relate to the game and when in combat, the music can sound sometimes very awkward. (4/10). Gameplay: Gameplay is simple, you build small settlements around a keep and your peasants farm/mine by a village, take the resources to the village and the cart will take…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 2002, indie studio Black Cactus released a first-of-its-kind RTS game called Warrior Kings. One year later, they released a sequel, Warrior Kings: Battles. Warrior Kings and its sequel were novel RTS games in that, when you play, you don't select a faction to belong to before you start a match, but rather, during the match you choose to build buildings that send you down the path of a particular faction. Besides having this novel mechanic, Warrior Kings and its sequel were also solid games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good title. Although the story is much better in the first titile "Warrior Kings", the gameplay itself is enjoyable. Generally we have a map of the campaign and conquer the next provinces we choose. The goal of the game is to conquer the capital of the empire. And this is essentially the entire storyline. However, as I mentioned before, the game is enjoyable and ofcourse new units appeared. Nice thing is that compared to the previous title, at the begining of each mission we can choose…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic RTS and one of my childhood favorites. If you can look past the late 90's early 2000's graphics it is still a really solid RTS. Pagan Renaissance = Win.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay Mechanics: 7/10 Narrative: 5/10 Graphics: 4/10 Sound and Music: 6/10 Replayability: 7/10 Innovation: 8/10 PROS: + building & unit tech trees + unit formations make a difference + battleground choice matters + really fun multiplayer + fixed many bugs from Warrior Kings CONS: - clunky & outdated graphics - some AI bugs - no story in the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In short, Great game, I have played this before it came out on steam... When I did play it, which was for an hour offline (why it says 13 minutes) it felt like it flowed well and that it was free from glitchess... The original I spent hours playing like I did with Redalert back in the day and like I do now with Supremme Commander. EDIT: This game does have stability issues late game, but most large scale RTS do especially games of today, War For the Overworld having a tragic and chronic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Review edited) My writing skills have improved and feel like i can make a much more transparent, complex and insightful review. My steam hours, these may be low in appearance but i can assure you my hours are monumental. I owned this on disc in the passed and sunk far more hours then i care to admit. This game is a excellent game, in my opinion. Nostalgia and bias has definetly influenced that deduction but allow me to elaborate why i think this game is so stella. At its core it might seem…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game even 20 years on, very nostalgic and a tonne of fun. Just make sure to install patch 1.23 (Steam latest is 1.1) and Universal Unofficial Patch by AdrienTD.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →downloaded it. opened it. went to go play it...huge 3D boxes and triangles shoot across my screen when I click on anything on the screen or run over it with my mouse. awesome.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Innovative, atmospheric and fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic game, apart of my childhood. Love the gathering resources and building up my army and defending. Can be quite challenging and each unit is one individual rather than a battalion which makes commanding troops harder. Still a very good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EVEN THOUGH ITS OUT DATED I LOVE THIS GAME
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very plexing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The thirteen minutes of this game I played represented a lot in life. For instance, at least ten men died in all that gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is better than farming.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Game, and that's more than just the nostalgia talking. : ) I have Windows 10 and it works, but I hear a lot of people with WIndows 10 do have issues.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best RTS games every created so much thought was put into this game and i have played 1000's of hours back in the day when i had it on disc under my mothers stairs on a big bulky computer ahaha
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →amazing game. kinda like kingdom wars 2. but more classic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ah, So much nostalgia. A great game from 2003 and an even better sequel to the Warrior Kings game. I remember when I was still around 5 years old I loved to sacrifice peasants to summon a big demon, use some sick meteorite shower from a cathedral or a giant freaking rocket launcher on wheels. A must buy for strategy lovers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The original Warrior Kings was my first game I have loved this game since the begining it has had a bumpy ride since it started but for a PC RTS that came out in the year 2000 it was really good for the time it came out. The game has got a few problems usually when it has been running a level for a while but if you save the game and load it again then its usually sorted. However bar the fact that the graphics are outdated the game has always ran on any computer. I have always prefered the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The triangles issue makes the game unplayable - massive shame as was such a good game as a kid - anytime you move your cursor over anything the screen gets blocked by blue triangles. First thing I purchased from Steam - not a great start - any solutions would be great!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My love, my precious. Why don´t they make games this good anymore? Where are the legends who created this gem?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An old gem of a game. The ai is challangingbut doesn't cheat aldough the campaign is a huge slog and kinda basic. Still for what it is this is a really great strategy game, also unlike in AOE or Stronghold, here you can have 800 INDIVIDUALLY controlled units!!!!! And combat is slow paced and methodical, ranged units shoot a hundred yard away, the maps are huge, resource gathering takes a while and this all coallesces into an excelent rts where you don't need to spamclick and have 300 APM to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first RTS game I've ever played, and I enjoyed this game a LOT. If you're interesting of trying out a RTS Game for the first time, I recommended this game a lot. Or if you have past experience with RTS game, there is a customizable AI that you can make and fight against with. There's even a large community surrounding WKB. A good friend of mine showed me this game and I enjoyed it a lot :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes place a hundred years or so after the first Warrior Kings. The Empire, brought back to glory by your previous character descends into chaos once more when a usurper kills off the last of the royal line. From a different province this time, you have to build up your forces and bring the Empire back from the brink. Same note about older graphics, but still decent enough if you know what you are in for.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of bugs in windows 10. Crashes, IA stop working, units lost for no reason, etc. I really hope somebody remake this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very very noïce
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. 6.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well what can i say, tis been some many years since i played this and Warrior kings. I now remember and can clearly see how and why i got into Stratagy games early! Warrior kings is for me a great splendid mix of building with a simply yet pretty dandy economy alongside pretty good fighting for a game this olde. The options for taking different paths as it were i think's awesome too and the option to build almost anywhere on the map also makes the idea of building good defences as important as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →running on win 8 just fine great game all round
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fantastic old RTS
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a good game overall, I do wish they made more to it and/or expanded it. Playing it as a kid was fun and replaying it was good as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is more obsolete than classic. Lots of bugs and terrible controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay Mechanics: 8/10 Narrative: 5/10 Graphics: 6/10 Sound and Music: 6/10 Replayability: 7/10 Innovation: 8/10 Warrior Kings: Battles is an underappreciated gem from the early 2000s that offers a unique twist on classic RTS gameplay. It mixes large-scale battles with base-building, resource management, and a branching faction system that still feels fresh today. Gameplay mechanics are deep and satisfying. You’ll expand your economy, construct vast cities, and raise armies to control the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game a lot as a kid, I recently bought it on Steam, I haven't really had time to play it yet, but now I'm sure I'll have many hours of fun with it, I can only recommend it. 10/8,5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First played this in 06 and fell in love ever since, recently picked it up on steam and there is no nostalgia blinders here. It's a solid game worth playing. Fun all around, just use a VPN for multiplayer and it's even more fun making and breaking alliances with friends knowing you talk while you play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →timeless classic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it. It's similar to Age of Empires but with it's own flavor on things. I'm actually particularly impressed with the controls. They feel good and do some cool things I'm surprised didn't catch on.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Time to smash skulls!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warrior Kings: Battles is an ancient game from 2003. It's a whopping 20 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks proper 4:3 aspect ratio and support for any modern gaming display resolutions, hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge. The game consists of medieval RTS combat as you raise different kinds of troops (archers, footsoldiers etc) and engage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best multiplayer rts ever! There is only one problem with it, you need modsto play on modern pc
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- old + solid campaign- and skirmish-options + giving orders in pause-mode possible + some neat things (cool arrow physics, only RTS I know where you can look at the SKY) + most other "old" RTS don't work even on Win7, are not accessible enough, are too simplistic, or use obscure mechanics that are obscure for a reason. This game dodges all of these problems. Works fine on my Win7. Win10 seems to be somewhat problematic. Hard for me to recommend, there are so many better RTS out there. But…
